I greatly appreciated him taking the time to explain the mechanism and answer all of my (numerous) questions. He gave me a very fair price and only replaced what needed fixing immediately. I definitely wanted to leave a review here because I went to get an oil change and fix my brakes and i was attended so well by Eddie! He showed great concern for my car for something as little as what I needed to get done, and was also very honest with me. He let me know how much it would be and whether or not I can drive it for a little bit longer and wait to get my brakes fixed because I was so busy that day. The prices are more than fair and the service is exceptional. I can say that BBC auto is a repair shop with integrity. They are people of their word, they won't try to tell you it costs more than it actually does or even throw at you a billion other things they say should be fixed too, you come for what you need and you leave with that... but they're always willing to give you tips on what should be done in the future with your car! Got in the car on a Saturday morning and was hearing a dreadful metal on metal sound. Wasnt sure if it was safe to hit the highway, so I called on a whim and Eddie took us in right away. Muffler broke on our car a week before we were scheduled to take a road trip. Since we were new to the area, we didn't know who to seek out for a mechanic, but the good yelp reviews convinced us to seek these guys out. They didn't disappoint. Fit us into their schedule for an inspection same day as our initial call, diagnosed the problem in about 15-20 minutes, recommended the repairs and provided a competitive quote. Got the replacement parts promptly and had the repair completed the following day. Car runs great and we had an excellent trip. Highly recommend these guys to anyone living in the Cambridge/Somerville area. Shop can be hard to find for those not familiar with the area, but don't let that discourage you. This place is great. I took my car here to repair my windshield wiper (which I thought needed to be totally replaced), an oil change, tire rotation and to repair a piece of plastic that has been hanging off the front for over a year now. I stopped in the day before and they told me to drop it off the next morning. It took about 2 hours for everything. The mechanic was honest and took the time to explain the repairs that he made. Although I told them that my wiper needed to be replaced it turned out to be just a bolt that needed tightening. He saved me a lot of money! I was very pleased with the efficency and honesty of these folks. I will definitely take my car back here for anything that needs fixing. read more

I love this place! I live right around the corner from this family owned business and whenever I need a crowbar, the staff is more than willing to lend me a tool. I've had my car worked on multiple times at BBC and always get quick and honest estimates and excellent repairs. I had to have my oxygen sensor replaced last week and while my car was in the shop, they checked my tire pressure and even sealed my leaky sunroof with without raking me (or my wallet) over the coals. Although everybody at this location is pleasant to deal with, the quality of the service was lacking. The parts that were used on my car did not fit properly. There was a loud noise coming from my exhaust after I brought the car there for an exhaust repair job, they left a gap in my exhaust system because they used an ill fitting part. They also attempted to fill in the crack that they left with exhaust cement. I could've done that myself in the first place. They performed in oil change on my car without asking me first and prior to 3000k on my sticker. I have had this car for many years and had many oil changes but have never had my car smell like oil, burning oil, for so long after a change before. I have also never had any work, not even a lightbulb repair, without prior authorization before. I thought it was very unprofessional to have work performed without my authorization and approval. I had a nail in my tire and took it into BBC in the morning on a weekday before work. When I asked the receptionist if it would take a few hours, she said not at all, it will only take about 15-20mins. She was right! But the best part was it cost me $10 dollars! Granted, they did an external patch, but they did not try to talk me into getting some "better" fix for more money, which is what I wanted. This was back in June. These guys are great! I brought my car over for a second opinion, and they checked it out with no charge. Another car place said I needed a new axle, which was very suspicious as I had just gotten the axel fixed. I brought it to BBC and they simply said that I needed balance the wheels. They saved me a ton of money! The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that they closed on Friday at 5 before I could get there to pick up my car, and didn't let me know. My battery and alternator died the Thursday night before I was supposed to move. I had never had my car serviced in Somerville, and I chose BBC auto repair from their Yelp ratings. I usually feel a bit intimated bringing in a car for service, but BBC was very nice. They told me I could drop off the car that day and they gave me a quick estimate of $600 for parts and labor for the whole job. They even pushed to get the part from another store so that I could move on time. I dropped it off Friday around 3pm and they had it ready Saturday by 10am. I just moved down the street from BBC auto and needed some repairs done to my car. I just got it back and the service was OUTSTANDING. In the past, at other auto repair places, I've felt taken advantage of because I wouldn't know better, you know? I went into this with my guard up, ready to question everything. When I went to pick up my car (and ENTIRE DAY EARLY by the way), which needed an oil change, new clutch, new brake pads AND the tires switched from snow tires back to all-weather, they asked me if I wanted to see all the parts they replaced and what they look like new. I thought, damn, that's really good service right there! They even came to my house to pick up the all-weather tires because I didn't have them with me! Guys! You just got a loyal customer. Brought my car here and had to go back 3 times before it was fixed and that lasted all of 3 weeks. The owner is shady at best and they provide terrible invoices and explanations. Never called me and I had to follow up or I would likely have never have heard from them. They apparently couldn't fix something so they just dismantled the part and likely ruined my car. They took well over a thousand dollars from me, for nothing and could have cared less if I had a running car. I rarely leave reviews and feel if you have nothing nice to say then... In this case I would feel badly if I didn't warn anybody against using these criminals. Simply put this is not a business to use and certainly not if you car requires anything beyond an oil change. I cannot stress enough that this is a BAD BUSINESS and they took advantage of my situation and cost a struggling young family their car and much needed money! Shameful behavior. read more
