I will be using Brighton Motor Service for anything I need. George is very trustworthy, educational, and up front in an industry that's hard to trust. I got my timing belt changed here after having some bad experiences elsewhere (where I went in for one thing and left having many other expensive things done that may not have been needed). At Brighton Motor Service on the other hand I got my timing belt changed quickly (within 24 hours), at a very reasonable price that matched his original quote, plus took care of additional work and didn't charge extra labor (only charged for parts) since they needed to get in there anyways for the timing belt change. In summary: -Got my original request fulfilled at a good price and timely turnaround -Got educated on what I would likely need to address next for my car (but wasn't pushed for additional work) -Saved money on additional work that my car needed by killing two birds with one stone in labor costs. After driving from San Diego harbor to Boston my daughter's 2019 Toyota Corolla needed preventive maintenance. Looked on Yelp to see what was available in regards to Toyota dealerships. A lot of negative reviews so I decided to go to an independent garage. BMS had the best reviews so I decided to give them a try. I called to make an appointment and spoke to George. I told him what I needed and he understood everything and gave us a quote over the phone. We made our appointment for the next day. Dropped off the car and George said to comeback in an hour or two. We decided to have lunch and he called and said the car should be ready in 20 minutes. They did everything that was needed and made a couple suggestions to do without pressure of an up sale. My check engine light turned on as I was getting on the highway to go on a day trip. It was a Sunday, so I wasn't having luck finding an open garage. Luckily, Brighton Motor Service was open! The tech quickly checked the code, determined it was minor, gave my car a once-over, and sent me on my way. My trip was saved! The tech was really nice and explained why the light may have turned on and what to look out for. I went to a Toyota dealership to have my 35,000 mile service done and they told me I needed to replace the rotors and pads on my front tires, which would cost $500. I ended up finding Brighton Motor Service and they looked and told me I just needed brake pads not rotors, and that it would cost me half what the dealership quoted. I dropped my car off same day, and within a couple hours it was good as new! So when I got this huge bolt in my tire today I of course brought it in and they had my tire off, bolt pulled, hole patched, and the tire back on my car in 20 mins. All for just $20! These guys are GREAT! Best customer service, turnaround time, quality work, and no up selling things you don't need. My daughter lives in Boston, and recently experienced some problems with her 2016 Toyota Camry, so she was in need of a mechanic. I live 3 hours away, and as a father, was worried about my little girl. I started to look for different garages in her area, because I wanted to find a reliable, reputable shop for her to take her car to in the future as well. I read quite a few reviews of several different places, and decided to give Brighton Motors a call. I explained the current situation with her car. Since she had to also go out of town during this time, she wouldn't be able to be there to have it towed until Sunday morning. When I looked at their website, I was AMAZED that Brighton Motors had Sunday hours! They assured me that they would be able to at least look at it, and let her know what the issue was, although they may not be able to repair it that day, depending what was wrong. That was really all I I could hope for on a Sunday morning in the Boston area. As it turned out, the tow truck driver was able to jump the car, so she could go right to the shop and have them take a look. These gentlemen hit it out of the park! They were so nice to my daughter, and knew that all she needed was a new battery and some cleaning of the connections. They gave her an oil change while she was there, and gave her car a quick look over. She has normally been very good about getting regular oil changes at a "chain shop", but is not entirely comfortable going there alone. The gentleman that helped my daughter remarked that "when her father called, her knew how he felt because he has kids too, and knows what it's like to worry about these things.". I'm so grateful and honestly still amazed that I was able to find Brighton Motors for my daughter! Very professional. My check engine light went off and I took my car to Autozone and they checked the cause, thermostat, and recommended Brighton. I called and spoke to George who agreed to have me come in right away. I checked the Yelp reviews and asked my dad on rates and it seemed reasonable. Replaced thermostat and gasket. Unfortunately my light went off again and brought it in for a check and it was the thermal sensor. He said it's easily replaceable and I could do it myself. The thermostat itself was more complicated and a more critical part that is important to fix especially since... Winter is coming... I'll definitely come back. Ask for George. read more

Within five minutes they had my car up on a jack, within ten they'd replaced the valve on the tire, filled it up, and popped it back on the car. Ok, so I found Brighton Motor Service through Yelp and couldn't help but make the decision to bring my car to George based on the reviews he's received here. Was totally impressed at how the place was run, and how I was treated. Walking into the office, George immediately saw me and came up to assist. I had an issue with my muffler and catalytic converter in which bolts had rusted away and caused them to separate, break, and the exhaust come apart. (Was not helped due to my trying to fix the original flange myself and the lower cat separating making it not something I could fix myself...) George took the car in and within a half hour I got a call saying he can fix it and gave what I considered a very reasonable estimate. I was worried it was going to be one of those "we have to replace everything with new", but these guys are old school, and were able to fix what was there with a bit of effort, and I had the car back in a couple of hours. Would definitely recommend Brighton Motor Service to anyone, and the five stars I give are certainly well deserved. This will be my new found location for when my car is in need. I took my car in due to a rattling sound. The guys here spent 2 hours, removed my heat shield, and 2 chrome coverings on my exhaust pipes and STILL didn't fix the rattle. Then went on to change me $200+ I then took my car elsewhere and they figured out what the rattling was in 10 minutes. Break pads! The owner here was a nice guy, but a total waste of money. They should've been able to figure out it was he break pads and not waste 2 hours of my time plus remove 3 expensive parts of my car... read more

My brother has been taking his car here for years, and recommended it to me when I had a weird sound coming from my car. I would recommend this place to anyone as they went above and beyond helping me in a time of need. I drove to Boston from NYC for the weekend and on Sunday before I drove back to the city I realized that I had an air bubble on the side wall of my tire. I'm not a car expert by any means but it didn't look good and I knew I needed a new tire. In my unique situation I knew this was going to be a hassle because I drive a VW CC and for anyone that drives a VW you know that the lug nuts need a special lug wrench to remove the tire. For whatever reason, I didn't have the lug wrench on me. It was late on a Sunday when no other shops were open and these guy were going to make sure they replaced the tire so I could drive safely back to nyc. At one point they had 4 guys working on my car and I was their top priority. Long story short, they helped me out in a tough situation.
