They've told me that my front breaks were bad, but told me that the rear ones could wait, when they could have replaced all four without me questioning them, or that a clunking sound I thought was my rear suspension was actually just a loose exhaust that could be cheaply welded on. They've also diagnosed problems, told me the price to fix them, and then when I opted not to bother with the repair or to replace the part myself, didn't charge me anything for the diagnosis. You can be confident that when you take your car to them you'll get good work done at an honest price.

I brought my car into Boxer to have them do an oil change - here is what the bill lists as services…read morethey perform during an oil swap: Lubricate and check chassis, change oil and filter, check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Perform basic safety inspection, road test vehicle. I watched the entire process, here is what they did: They changed the oil and filter, maybe checked (some of) the fluids. Nothing else. Most concerning, once they lowered the car off the lift, they started it and DID NOT check the oil level again. Like most shops they pre-measured the oil to add to the car after draining the old oil. This is a fine system as long as you get all the old oil out (spoiler - this doesn't happen as consistently as you might think). Too much or too little oil can have disastrous consequences. After an oil change, you run the car and re-check the level. This is peak half-assedness. I wouldn't come back here again or recommend that anyone does.

Finally brought it to Boxer Motor works (which I should have done in the first place) and he informed me the cat converter was under warranty. He was right. Brought it to my subaru dealership and they fixed it for free. Saved me over $1000. He easily could have not told me it was under warranty and done it himself. Gotta respect that. I'll be bringing my Subaru to him for all future work.

I had been a customer since 2015 when Anthony was behind the desk, but Miguel is unfortunately a different story. Doesn't care about customer rapport, quotes outrageous prices for simple jobs, and never picks up the phone or returns phone calls. I haven't had a call answered or a voicemail returned in over a year. If you're able to get through, the work done by Will and Justin is top notch, but you may be faced with an exorbitantly inflated price tag by Miguel. Very unfortunate but I have no other choice than to find a new mechanic, because communication has been one-way for too long and trust has been eroded.
