I bought a car there a while back and the sales rep was good but I told him what I would pay for the car and he could decide whether or not he will accept it. He agreed if I would buy right now and I did. I had my figures based on kbb.com and from a friend int he car industry.The sale went well but that guy is no longer there. The service department is poor. They kept telling me that they did not make the type of rain visor that I wanted, even though they put it on my aunts car a month before. When they called me for my 60,000 mile service I asked them how much it would cost and I had my mechanic do it for about half that. Actually I had about 80,000 miles at the time and they guy told me I needed a new timing belt for about $650. My mechanic told me I had a timing chain and the guy was either incompetent of trying to screw me. The service rep was adamant that I needed a belt and I need to get it done. After doing more research I realized my mechanic was correct and I NEVER changed the chain or had issues with my car. If you can get a good price I would buy a car there again but I would not bring it there for service ever. read more

This place defines the stereotype associated with "car salesman". Misrepresented features on comparing models. I actually had keys dangled in front of me in one hand and a disputed contract on the other by this f#t load in financing Frank I think. "You want the car ?" Dangle... dangle..."sign here". I was up against a deadline and had to concede. In picking up the car, I see the salesman screeching the car around. He hands us the keys without going over any features in the car with us. On the way home I realize we are missing the trunk cover and he did not give us the inspection sticker. Granted my wife gave the guy attitude right before (rookie mistake on her part- should of done it after) but I could not believe the balls on this guy to pull that. This has been my worst car buying experience working with Honda Cars of Boston to buy an Accord Touring 2016 beginning of this month. These guys are no were close to being professional. The only reason I ended up here was becuase their price was low but only realized that their service sucks. Let me start with the test drive. Daytrin was the sales guy and pulled the car to test drive. I wanted to test the safety features and when I tried to test the Adaptive Cruise control and the Lane Departure warning, it did not function at all. During the test drive I asked a bunch of feature questions to which he had no answer. When we came back, he told me some fuse was not installed because of which the safety feature did not work. how can this dealer allow a car to be test driven which all features not activated. Now I have been a loyal Honda customer and had had 3 Honda's before so I knew it was not the car but something wrong with the way the dealership did not check. I like the car and tell Daytrin that I need it in black (which they had to get it from somewhere else which is understandable). I pay the deposit and they tell me to come on Friday (2 days after the test drive) to come followed by confirmation call on Friday morning that the car was ready and come down by noon to complete the paperwork. At this point I even ask him if I can pick the car the same day and he said YES confidently. I go at 12 pm with my family on Friday to their Everett office and he makes me wait 45 mins before he contacts AJ the finance guy. I am sure at this point they are all having their lunch which they could have told as neither me nor my family had lunch yet. During this time Daytrin never bothered to check on us. Then we go to AJ's office and we start with the paper process. I ask AJ to make sure while running the paper work get Finance rates from Honda Finance and DCU. but he checks only with DCU and not with Honda and I am forced to go with DCU even though I was getting a good rate with Honda Finance, as AJ said he had to do the paper work all over and that would delay the car delivery. So I agree thinking I get to drive my car that Friday evening. Now AJ is in a hurry to finish all th paper work and he said you are picking the car tomorrow right and this is the first time I hear and I say NO I need it today and he calls Daytrin and he said the car won't be ready till Saturday. I am very annoyed as they gave me a BS reason of accessories needs to be installed, but I was told everything was going to be ready. Anyways I walk out of the office back home with a disappointed family and reach back by 3pm. When I come back home I get a call from AJ at 5pm and he leaves a VM saying my insurance sucks and they have not got back to them. I immediately called my insurance and they said they have sent the papers and I call AJ and he never returns his call (till this day). I am pretty sure AJ sat on the paper work and next day was Saturday with RMV closed they had a reason to not give me a car on Saturday either. I call on Saturday and Daytrin never returns my call then finally in the after noon I get a call that the car is going to be ready by Tuesday evening (almost a week since I test drove the car). When asked Daytrin tells me they don't have accessories and need to order which they never told me. I was furious at this point but since I didn't want them to mess up my car I kept quiet. I waited till Tuesday and they didn't even bother to provide any status till I called and asked if I could come Tuesday afternoon as we were expecting snow that evening. I have an hours drive from my place and he says at 11am, if you can come by noon he can get the car to me and he has an appointment at 12:30pm and can't promise if I came late. I get my family to get the car and when picking up the car there is no apology whatsoever. he does not go over any features nothing and just pick the keys and drive back. When I reach home I see that the car plates (i had asked for new plates) was 3 months old and I kept texting & calling Daytrin to ask why this was the case and finally after multiple tries he texts me that I should call the dealership office to ask why. My rear vent is not working correctly and he says to call the dealership I am sorry for this lengthy post but I HAD to share this and I would have given a ZERO rating if there was an option. I do understand delays, but its all about the right attitude and keeping your customer updated with the issues and I am a reasonable person if kept updated. Its been 3 weeks since I bought my car till date there is no call from their office to see how I am doing. I lost 2 days of work I had so many other options to buy my car, from other dealerships, who were ready to win my business. These guys at Honda Cars of Boston, don't care once you sign the papers, their whole attitude changes. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND OR BUY ANY CARS FROM THESE GUYS. Came here recently to get a recall done. Got here and parked. Walked inside and I was greeted, which was nice. But since I was not following process (um no sign), I was asked to go back to my car and drive into the service bay and get a work order from the guys in the service bay and back into the Service Desk area to get registered for the work. You know by law customer is not allow in Service bay area. Anyways, got registered and they offer a ride, which is good, but I was all set. The recall repair work was exactly the same time I was qouted for, so which is good. Came back and got my car, all seems good except that my backdoor was not closed completely according to the ight indicator and a cover to the area that was worked on was not entirely locked it, I tap it in. Not sure why an console work inside car requires the backdoor to be opened, interesting....and I left. read more

We bought a car at this place last week, and it was a horrible experience. (You can read about it you're interested in my other review in the Sales section.) It was so bad I posted a one-star review, something I hardly ever do. Here's what happened: A little while after I posted that review, I got a call from one of the owners, apologizing and asking if there was anything he could do for me. I said I needed the inspection re-done to make sure the emissions were now OK. He said sure thing, and I should call him the day before I came in for the inspection. I did call him, and the next day I went there. I had made an inspection appointment for 11 AM, but I was quite early; got there around 10:45, when they weren't expecting me yet. Pulled my car up into the service bay. For about five minutes everyone ignored me as I stood by my car. I said, "Hello" to one guy and he sort of waved towards me while walking away. Finally a service worker came up to me and said he needed to see the registration. And I thought, oh crap, we never put the registration in the car. I said, "I'm really sorry, I don't have the registration with me." The guy said, "Well, you'll have to go back home and get it and then come back." I said, "I live twenty miles away so that will take a lot of time." And then I name-dropped. I said, "I've been talking with [one of the owners] about this inspection. Let me call him up." Just as I was dialing, the service manager came up to my car and said, "Oh, I know all about you! You don't need your registration. I'll take care of everything, you'll be done in twenty minutes." And he shooed the other guy away. I went to the waiting area. There were maybe 10-12 other people there waiting for their cars to be fixed. In the half hour I waited, not one of them was called. I, the last one to get there, was the first to leave. How much did THAT suck for all those people who were waiting when they got shunted aside so they could finish MY car quickly, because I had written a bad review? In short: Apparently if you complain loudly enough, you get treated like royalty, but if you're just Joe Customer, you get lousy service. I find that disgusting. I'll never go back there. read more

Mark and his manager Joe at Honda Cars of Boston have helped me buy my last three cars. I guess I'm hooked on this Honda Accord Coupe because I haven't steered away from it yet. I just like trading mine in for the newer model every so often to get more bells and whistles. When I first came to this dealership 5 years ago, I was worried I was going to get conned into buying some car I didn't want simply because I was in need of something right away. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Joe and I talked for a while about how I'd be using the car to determine whether I should lease or buy, used or new. He pegged me for a car owner not a car leaser, and so we started looking at his array of coupes, as I knew this was the model I wanted. A two door car is perfect for getting into tight parking spaces around the city where I like to go out. So we looked at some of his brand new EXL Coupes, and then he searched other dealerships for what I wanted until he found the perfect car for me! Black on black, low miles, one previous owner, in mint condition. I fell in love as soon as he showed it to me. Mark took care of transferring everything over to my new ride, so all I had to do was sign and I was good to drive away! Seriously, the whole process could not have been easier or less stressful. These guys are the best! This last time I wanted a brand new V6 model. He found it in one day. Done. And it's beautiful, with Apple play and everything! This was my first visit to honda cars of Boston and I was disappointed after I receive my pilot. If you check that it has oil change, tire rotation and car cleaning. I dropped the car a day before so that I get enough time for the job done. However when I received the car it was not cleaned. I told the person who gave me the key that car clearly seen not cleaned, it had all mud marks on the body. He replied me that the car cleaning was closed at 5 PM therefore it was missed. I was surprised by that comment because I left with enough time to do that stuff and before coming to office I made sure by calling the office that the job is done. Since I was in hurry I took my car and came out from the service station. After reaching home I saw that my right rear tire has parallel parking marks which can only come on rear tire. I am not very certain because I didn't mark the tire but I doubt if people can miss 1 item then they can also easily miss the 2 items what can't be easily identified. I am sorry to say but this type of service I was not expecting from Honda dealer where you have doubt of the job. read more

I had been shopping for many months however it was Ataan's excellent customer service and unusual ability to help two of us think through our options and make the best choice, that gave me finally the confidence to make the purchase. He has excellent knowledge in cars, is an excellent listener and very patient. I looked first online for a pre-owned and called ahead to be sure the vehicle was still on the lot for sale. The other day, I found a coupon on their website for $80 engine coolant change, so I printed it out and went in with my 2007 Civic. Every employee I interacted with was friendly and professional and was even willing to discuss some technical aspects of the work they performed (rather than brushing me off like some other service techs do). I waited between one or two hours for the work to be done (I didn't time it) which seemed reasonable. There were two reasons I wanted the engine coolant to be changed. First was because I don't think it had ever been done before (previous owner lacked most service records...and it looked dirty when I inspected the fluid in the coolant reservoir), and second because over the past few weeks I had been experiencing a noise from the right side of the dashboard, under the glove box, sounding like water sloshing around. After doing some "research" online, I *thought* I had determined that changing the engine coolant (and thus getting air bubbles out of the coolant system) may help fix the problem. (Note that I did not mention to this to the service technicians when I dropped off my car, as I probably should have. I simply asked for a coolant change). So anyway, I got the car back with the new coolant, paid the $80, and the water sloshing noise was still there. So I went back again on Thursday and explained the problem. They told me their diagnostic fee was $110 but that if I chose to have them do the work, they would apply that fee to the balance of the work. I agreed, and they offered to drive me home in their courtesy shuttle, which they did right away (awesome). I received a phone call a short while later saying that my car was ready and that they were NOT going to charge me since it only took them 5-10 minutes to unclog the A/C drain and fix the problem. They offered to replace my cabin air filter but I declined since I know how to do that myself. They could have charged me the $110 and waited longer to make it look like it was some big involved process, but instead they were honest and nice enough not to charge me. True, it was a very simple fix for them to do, but as a "dumb consumer" who knows little about clogged A/C drains, I was at least expecting to be charged a nominal fee. Based on my experience here I would definitely recommend this place, and I'll be going back for oil changes and whatever else. (About the actual facility: they have a large parking lot with a lot of selection (lots of LX and EX-L's) and even some Civic Si models. They also sell CPO here. They have free coffee while you wait, as well as a soda vending machine ($0.75 per can). There is also a TV and some periodicals in the waiting area. Bathrooms were clean, the climate controlled showroom was clean and comfortable, etc. I did not get bombarded by 100 salespeople when I was meandering around the showroom (which is a plus). read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I am writing this review since I had a horrible experience ALL around with Honda of Boston! I have a 2008 Honda Civic that I purchased two years ago, it has 136,000 miles and is an excellent car! Well my car started overheating so I brought it in to my mechanic. He informed me that my engine was cracked and that it was roughly a $5,000 job. I decided to called Honda of Boston to find out how much a brand new engine was to see how much he was charging me for labor. When I called and starting asking the Rep. asked me for my vin number stating that they had a feeling it was a recall. They came back to say that it indeed was a recall and that I could bring my car in the day after memorial day at 8:30 am to be repaired! AMAZING right?!? Well don't go getting too excited! I go to Honda in Everett drop of my car so happy and relieved! Then it happens, I get a call saying that even though my car is a 2008 that it has a "delivery date" of 2007 meaning that the recall expired in November 2017! They told me it would cost me $4,800 to repair my car that I still owe $3,000 on!!! The car is only valued between $4,000 and $5,000 now.... and the BIGGEST issue is had HONDA NOT put a FAULTY engine in my car to begin with I WOULDN'T be in this situation!!!! Since having my car I have ALWAYS taken the best care of it doing oil changes on time, I have done the tune up changed all the fluids literally EVERYTHING I was supposed to do to maintain my car. I told the Rep all of this and even provided all my repair documents to prove this as well. They then told me the best they could do was cover 15%!!?! What is 15% going to do??? So I went over them and called corporate Honda of America after providing vin numbers to 8 hondas that I have owned in my lifetime to prove that I am "loyal to the brand" ( since apparently that's the only way they will help in these type of situations) and the service documents I was told I would be contacted in no more than a week after everything was reviewed in my case. A week later my case manager Tina ( Who was truly amazing!!) called me back to say that she did the best she could and got all of her higher Managers involved but that they could cover half the cost ( $2,400). She said she was really sorry that I was going through this and wished there was more that she could do but that unfortunately the Dealerships are independently owned and that they can't make them help more. She did mention that she couldn't give me advice but said why don't you ask another dealership for the heck of it. Here comes the AMAZING part!!!! I called Honda Kelley of Lynn, MA on Friday 6/8/18. I spoke with the service manager there Ariel.I told him my story and everything that happened, he was very thoughtful and understanding while at the same time upset and frustrated that Honda of Boston treated me this way and couldn't believe that one of their service techs had recorded my mileage incorrectly! He said give me five minutes and let me go to bat for you, I will call you back and let you know what we can do for you. Less than five minutes later Ariel called me back to ask if I could get my car to him tomorrow morning ( Saturday 6/9/18) I said of course! So he says great, If you can get me your car by 3pm we will go ahead and take care of the engine and place a new one and for all the troubles you have gone through we will provide you a courtesy car while we have your car!!! I started crying!!! He had literally just saved my life and my future with Honda!!! He said all I would be responsible for was $250!!!!!!!!!!! I had my car taken there Saturday morning at 8am and he put me into a BRAND NEW 2018 Honda Civic!!! The thing is a BEAST such an incredible vehicle!! I had the most AMAZING week cruising around in this beauty! Ariel called me Thursday 6/14/18 that my car was all set! The cost would be $250 and I could pick it up Friday 6/15/18 after work. I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW AMAZING ARIEL FROM HONDA IN LYNN, MA HAS BEEN!!! I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH HONDA EVERETT AGAIN!!! Bottom Line: I was impressed with these guys and leased my car from them. I leased a car from this dealership after extensive research. I like to deal with sales people who will give me the numbers and not play games: MSRP, negotiated price, residual value, term, money factor. These guys (unlike other unsavory dealerships like Honda Gallery in Reading - boooooo) did not play games. They gave me all the numbers as soon as I sat down. No tricks, no confusion. I started my investigation with them via their Internet sales group -- these guys are great. They actually know what they are talking about. Here's a tip to car dealerships: Put your brightest people in the Internet group, because your losing sales if you don't. No one wants to deal with someone who doesn't know car details, basic pricing, options, etc. Anyway, I got the car I wanted for the price I wanted. They were honest, pleasant, accommodating, quick, detail-oriented and delivered my car in a day. Car orientation was thorough. It's not the fanciest showroom in the area, but they have the best people and they'll treat you right. read more

The first time I just had a simple oil change performed and they washed my car for me for free! The second time I had some more work done and the employee assisting me took the time to explain everything in great detail and didn't pressure me to fix everything that day and actually saved me a good chunk of money! After purchasing my car here in 2014, I had been going back periodically but now will be going back for everything! Samantha reached out to me as I had a less than fantastic experience and asked me if I'd be okay coming in for a complete detail to give them a second chance. I am SO happy I did! Not only did they give me an AMAZING interior/exterior detail but they changed my oil as I'd mentioned needing it, topped off my fluids and Taylor even called me to tell me they found a nail in my tire and patched it for me for no charge!! WAIT GUYS. That's not even the best part. I'd been all sad because someone had rear ended me, but they touched up my paint so well and made my car so shiny that it looked like I'd never had the accident and just drove it off the lot!! It's clear to see they have a great team here. Mike has clearly invested in great training for his staff, Samantha is an absolute sweetheart that really cares about customers and Taylor just went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of (I might have hugged her). I was visiting Boston from out of town several hours from home and I was in desperate need for them to fix my driver's side seat belt issue before I returned home the next day. They fit me into their busy Saturday schedule, were able to diagnose the problem quickly, and when they didn't have the part in stock to fix the problem, they found a solution. They knew I needed the part that day so that I could drive home safely the next day and they did what they promised to do. I was able to keep my weekend plans and they put my mind at ease knowing that they were going to fix the problem for me that day. read more

I do not know why they got such low reviews on Yelp. My purchase experience with them was great. This is the first brand new car I ever buy. So I did some homework and made an inquiry on truecar.com. Honda cars of Boston called me and offered a price which was even lower than the lowest on truecar.com. I have heard all kinds of horrible stories about dealers so at first I thought they were just trying to coax me to the dealership and I ignored them. It was until the other dealership's rude attitude pissed me off that I decided to give Honda cars of Boston a try. The low price is real and I got extra 500 off besides low APR. It feels great to have everything goes as expected and better. I talked to Johnny Flynn on the phone and Peter Nannery helped me with the actual purchase. I went in here looking for a trade in for my '03 Mazda 6 which had a bit of wear and tear. I got amazing service from Donald Camillo and Joe. They walked me through my options honestly (my credit isn't that great.). I ended up getting a 2010 Accord and they promised to fix the little kinks it has. I went back to get the car inspected and checked and they were really fast. I am waiting to see how their service department will perform in the future but on the sales side they did a great job. read more

I went with my mother to buy her new car on Saturday, and we both thought it was a really good experience. Alex was the salesperson helping us - my mom asked for him specifically because he sold my sister and brother-in-law a car about a month ago and they liked him. Alex is really friendly and not a pushy salesman at all. Granted, he didn't really have to sell very hard because my mom walked in knowing she was going to buy, she just had to decide between a Fit and a Civic. We test drove both cars, and Alex was great about answering all our questions but didn't try to push for the more expensive car. Once the decision was made (she went with the Civic), there was a lot of waiting around for paperwork to be done. That was the biggest downside of the day, was how long the process took. We were at the dealership for just over 4 hours. I have no idea if that's normal, since I've never bought a car myself. A couple older reviews here mentioned the building/waiting area being shabby, but apparently they recently renovated. The building was really nice and the waiting area by the service center looked like it had plenty of comfy seating and at least 1 or 2 vending machines. It looks different from the pics posted here. I can't comment on the service center (which seems to be the source of most of the bad reviews here), but the shopping/buying experience was good. Hi. I am not sure why there are low ratings here, but we have had great experiences with Honda Cars of Boston. In the first case, we bought a minivan in 2004 (yes that is the right date). The buying process was easy. We showed them our research on both the new car and our trade-in, told them the price and got to a deal relatively quickly. Nice guys and it was very easy. After owning the car for 7+ years, we decided last year to look for a new one (the car was still great, but we wanted the side airbags). This time, I did lots of research again and then e-mailed every Honda dealer in the area telling them the car I wanted (minivan with leather and DVD) and asked on the availability and price for two different colors. I spoke with 4 places and ended up going to two (Commonwealth - do not go there as they pulled a bait and switch!!) and Honda Cars of Boston. With Honda Cars of Boston, I showed him my research and he even provided me with his information. We ended up negotiating the price for the car by e-mail and even narrowed the trade-in value to a small range (in the end, they gave me the top of my trade-in range after seeing the car) before I went in. A really respectful process. Once there, we sat down with John Fitzpatrick (a great guy by the way), who showed us the car, wrote up the papers and we were done. They kept their word on the price of the car and on the trade-in. We joked the whole time. It was the easiest car buying process by far and we got a great price. Since then, I have had lots of interactions with them and they are all positive. These guys have it down. read more

I had a wonderful experience recently at Honda Cars of Boston. I had just come from Burlington Herb Chambers where my experience was not so pleasant. I shared some details of this with one of the staff and was introduced to Pete in sales. He was pleasant, friendly, professional, and anything but pushy. I was able to test drive the 2014 Accord alone which I appreciate. There is nothing worse than test driving a car and having a sales person trying to sell you on all of it's features while you are driving. I was able to take my time driving the car to make sure it was what I wanted. After I returned from the test drive I was given some rates on a lease which were much lower than what Herb Chambers had quoted me (and not to mention I wasn't asked to put anything down!) I was able to get into a 2014 Accord for only $230 per month with just a little $$ down. I was thrilled by the news and was ready to move forward with the process. One issue though was the the car I wanted was white and although they didn't have one in stock they arranged for a white one to be delivered by the end of the week. In addition, the day I came to pick up the car there was an issue with my insurance company being closed so I wasn't able to drive the car home that day. Pete stepped up to the plate and offered to drive me home so I didn't have to call for a ride. He went above and beyond what was necessary and I really appreciated that. When I was ready to buy and sign the paperwork, Oscar assisted me with the lease process and explained everything to me in simple terms. I told him this was the first time I had ever leased a car and he put my mind at ease. Like Pete, he was friendly, pleasant and very professional. All in all, my experience at Honda Cars of Boston was incredible. If you are in the market for a Honda this is the only place you should go! read more

I feel compelled to write a review of my used car purchase experience at Honda Cars of Boston because they have so many negative reviews here on Yelp that I almost did not come in. Yes, at the end of the day they are a car dealership and they want to sell you a car. However, after having a really bad experience at the Other Car Dealership in Boston (you know who I'm talking about), I was relieved at the minimal pressure I received from the sales team at Honda Cars. The guys who worked with me seemed honest, patient, and listened to what I wanted and did not try to up-sell. I was offered a fair price on the Certified Honda Fit I came to see (based on the KBB research I did). I was not willing to make a decision without taking the night to think about it, and they did not push me. They even put the car on hold for me until the next day without demanding a deposit so that I could take the time to make sure it was the right decision. I came in the next afternoon to seal the deal. The paperwork process took a bit of time, but the finance guy who handled the deal was friendly and transparent with the sales, loan and warranty process. Overall I had a positive experience. Based on other reviews it seems to be a mixed bag here, but I recommend going and checking it out for yourself if they have the car in stock that you're looking for. read more

The dealership worked hard to get me in the car I wanted for a price I could pay. The sales manager and business/finance staff were great as well. Watch out for the attendents at the service department at Honda Car Of Boston in Everett, they will invent reasons and excuses that you will need for your car and they will not even break down the labor and parts to you. So you will end up with a bill for parts like $260.00 and Labor $650.00 and the greedy attendants will be doing cartwheels that they ripped you off, made money for themselves and not even care if you are a loyal customer.
