I highly recommended this place. I commute to Sullivan square daily from 40 miles away. Then with no warning my truck alternator died as I pulled into town. Brought it in, called me a couple of hours later with options on price for different manufacturers of alternators. Went with high quality, he made calls, kept me updated throughout day and truck was ready to drive for a nice unstressed ride home. Thanks guys for a great job! I had a great experience with these guy! I know very little about cars and went to them with both my Check Engine and Maintenance lights on. They were incresibly friendly, courteous, and patient with my poor understanding of car parts. AND when it came time to make purchases, the prices were really reasonable for what I've seen at other places, and the service was fast. I also love the Saturday morning hours, because I work late during the week! I will definitely be returning with any issues in the future - it felt like they really cared about the product and the customer, and not just the bottom line. read more

You know the old adage in auto repair, you get what you pay for. Well this is true of Bobby at hillside auto. They are expensive, and charge quite a bit for their labor, but they do a job and the repairs work flawlessly. I started going here at the recommendation of one of my former bosses, and if I wasn't so far away I would still go for repairs. If you take a look in their garage, they have some cool classic cars that they are working on, there was a delorian, you know the back to the future car on the lift last time I was there, so these guys must know what they are doing. read more

I was always treated great by the guys at ABJ auto repair in Somerville. Went in to have my old 98 BMW I had just bought looked at. Got some great information at no cost. They have since been bought out by Hillside Service Center. I called Hillside last year for a quote on some rear wheel bearings. The guy said it would be between 650 and $750. I take the T most everywhere so I put off the repair and called back yesterday to see how much it would be and they told me it would cost between 860 and $950. That's a big increase in one year. I had a flat tire. I brought the tire in and the crew at Hillside quickly diagnosed the problem (leaking valve) and fixed it within 5-10 minutes. Everyone I interacted with was polite and friendly. I've been to some of the automotive service national chains in the area - where something like this could have easily turned into an all day/several hour event. I was fortunate that this happened early in the morning. I imagine if I had brought the tire in later in the day, I may have had to wait. Overall, I would recommend trying Hillside if you're looking for a local shop. Support local businesses! read more

I moved here from CT, and in an unfamiliar area it's difficult to find a mechanic you can really trust. These guys are hard-working, transparent, honest, and very fair from a pricing perspective. Great place!! I took my car here recently for work on a headlight. My friend was unable to change the headlight bulb for me, and the owners manual stated you had to take the car into the dealership for the new bulb. I took my Nissan Altima to Hillside Service Center and had a very pleasant experience. They were able to replace the bulb in less than 10 minutes and the price was great. A lot less than what the dealership would have charged me. I would take my car back to Hillside again for sure, they are true professionals. Overall a great experience - a perfect 10!! read more

A mere twelve hours prior to our planned 700 mile, 12 hour trip from Massachusetts to North Carolina, we found ourselves with a flat tire in the Home Depot parking lot in Somerville. With help from Google, we realized that Hillside Service Center was right next door ... we could not have been luckier! The guys were caring, responsive and they fixed the tire (it was a valve problem!) and then went on to check all the other tires just to make sure we were safe. I could not recommend them more highly ...if you want service you can trust at prices you can afford, this is the place to go for any auto service. read more
