I wanted to like this place so bad, but after giving it three separate chances, I just couldn't…read more
The best things I can say about the restaurant are the price, the amount of unlimited food you get for the price depending on whether you choose lunch, dinner, or one of their other packages, and the bubble tea. The bubble tea was actually really, really good. Unfortunately, everything else left me pretty unimpressed, especially because I'm normally a huge Korean BBQ fan.
There's another Korean BBQ restaurant with multiple locations throughout the city that is my personal favorite and a 10/10 for me, so I was really hoping this place would give me a similar experience. I had also seen this restaurant all over TikTok, with people reviewing it and raving about it, which made me even more excited to try it.
I do think you have to be careful with restaurant reviews on TikTok these days because some restaurants may invite creators in, offer discounts, or provide complimentary experiences in exchange for content. I have absolutely no idea if this restaurant does that, and I'm not saying that they do. I'm only mentioning it because my personal experience was very different from many of the reviews I saw online.
Starting with the restaurant itself, it could definitely use some attention when it comes to cleanliness and upkeep. Some of the chairs were ripped or worn. During my visits, I sat in both a single chair and a booth, and the tables and areas surrounding them were not as clean as I would have expected.
You also usually wait a few minutes while they finish setting up the table and grill, so I feel like that would be a good opportunity to quickly wipe down and sweep around the table before seating guests.
Now, the food.
Every time I ate here, most of the food that was brought to the table was cold. The only food that was really hot was the meat once I cooked it myself on the grill. The white rice that comes with the meal was warm, but outside of that, a lot of what came to the table was cold.
Another major issue for me was that all three times I ate here, I ended up with a terrible stomachache afterward.
The first time, I only ate appetizers, so I couldn't even blame it on possibly not cooking the meat thoroughly enough. The second and third times, I made sure my meat was completely cooked. I'm talking cooked until it was practically well done and almost burning because I wanted to make absolutely sure it was done. I still ended up with a stomachache after both visits.
Of course, I can only speak about my own experience, and I can't say exactly what caused the stomachaches, but having the same experience all three times definitely stood out to me.
If I recommended this place at all, it would mainly be for someone who wants to try the experience, likes the atmosphere, wants unlimited Korean BBQ at a reasonable price, or wants to try the bubble tea. Based on the food quality and cleanliness during my visits, though, it personally would not be my first choice for Korean BBQ.
I do want to end on a positive note because the staff was honestly one of the best parts of the restaurant. Everyone I interacted with was very nice, and Kyle in particular was an amazing server. He was attentive, kind, and really deserves the best. His service definitely helped make the experience better.
