I don't go here as often as Bread & Butter next door. I stopped by for lunch today and ordered a Kimchi Stir Fry with beef and brown rice. First off, you ordered with the guy as the woman is cooking the food to your order. After its done, the guy hands your food and the cashier determines on the scale how much you are going to pay. I rushed over to my building to devour my lunch. The stir fry is a tad oily but the flavor profiles are definitely coming through with every bite of this yummy goodness. The beef are big slices which is good because I hate delis that are cheap on the meat you know. Kimchi is bit spicy but just right with this order.

While this place is crazy busy during weekday lunch, it gets much quieter at 3pm. You can get pretty much anything to eat here that you like - parfaits, build your own salads, deli sandwiches, Thai food, and a hot/cold food bar. I came at around 3:30 pm and it looked like the hot and cold food bars were closed, but an employee behind the counter assured me they were still open. Most of the dishes were mislabeled - I think this is because they were cleaning up half of the bar and whatever items were left were consolidated to the left side of the bar. Though the bar was being cleaned up there were still about 16 options left. I was excited because I'm not a picky eater and my meal would be 50% off! After 3pm, whatever is left is half off. I tried 1 piece of breaded chicken (with rib meat), 1 meatball, a healthy helping of penne in creamy red sauce, and some udon noodles. Total was around $5.30. Sure, the food wasn't piping hot but I was happy with my food. At the checkout, the cashier was super friendly and talkative. I thanked her for including a fork in my bag (some places don't) and she replied "How could I forget? That's my entire job! We're here to take care of you!" It was genuine and adorable.

Great place for a quick lunch at a very reasonable price. They have everything--soup, sandwiches, prepared hot foods. The salad comes with unlimited topping choices such as fruits, vegetables and nuts. No cap on how many toppings you can get. All are very fresh. It also comes with a protein topping such as a hard boiled egg, avocado, tuna, salmon, or chicken salad. This huge salad was only $7.99, a very hard price to beat in NYC. I've been getting lunch here very frequently because their salads are so good and reasonably priced! They also give you napkins and silverware in the bag, which is convenient.

Don't be fooled by the photo. Most of them taste awful :(

*A review only for the buffet* Not many people commented on their hot buffet bar so I am here to do it. Selections are huge and all look delicious. Well, just look delish... I picked more than 10 items and most of them tasted terrible! Salmon was bitter, rice was hard, mac&cheese was disgusting... The only thing I thought was okay was the crab salad. The buffet located in grand central place is so much better with just $2 more per pound :/

Nowadays I wonder 'is this correct price? Everytime. I didn't feel like this before tho.... Today I bought $4.14 after tax was $4.64. It's mean about 12% tax. She is really quickly type so I can't take Collect is '$4.14 + 9% tax = $4.51' My coworkers and other floor people also noticed it. This is clearly not polite and not nice. I'm disappointed in this phenomenon.

Nice seating area upstairs....good for off-site desk work.

Dynamite lunch spot. Nice seating area upstairs for off-meal-hour desk work. They also have a rockin' little smoothie bar and the widest selection of protein as energy bars known to man. During lunch hours there's some custom preparation goin on in the back of the store. Korean BBQ is a favorite.

Not bad for less than 5 dollars (after 3pm)

Went there at 3pm, when the leftovers from the buffet (you pay by weight) is 50 percent off. Got a excellent lunch (meatballs, sushi, chicken breast - I could have chosen healthier options) for less than 5 dollars. And while it's really cramped downstairs, there was lots of room upstairs. Close to Grand Central terminal.

Delicacy is the newly revamped and renovated Nissi. The whole interior of the deli has been renovated with vibrant colors, clear lighting, and additions of 2 new food stations, the salad bar and smoothie bar. The 2nd floor seating area also has been improved with seating along the wall viewing onto the street, for those who like to people watch. Despite all the physical changes there is not much of a change in the menu selection and the buffet offering. Bread and butter's buffet conquers on variety. The Korean food is worth highlighting. Delicacy offers bulgogi, spicy seafood, and other Korean main dishes over rice fairly generous in portions (see pic) for a moderate price. The ramen is also a good choice- instant ramen noodles with beef or seafood (my favorite), sprinkled vegetables and a whole egg! Be sure to ask the cook not to cook the noodles for long time to prevent soggy noddles when serving. The noodles will be cooking inside the to-go container. Salad with unlimited topics is also a wise choice for the healthy folks. The presence of the new Delicacy in Midtown has attracted a crowd during lunch which is given noting their lunch selection and quality food. As a loyal customer of Nissi, I'm excited to see Delicacy launch successfully!

I used to think the place next door, Bread & Butter, had the best deal in town as far as salads go. And after one very negative experience here last year when it was still Nissi, I refused to ever give this place another shot and gleefully took delight every time I went to B&B for lunch instead (yes, I'm petty, I know - I'm working on it). Last Monday, however, I was in an usually extra chipper mood, (you know, those days when you feel like the "world is your oyster" kinda day?) so I decided to let bygones be bygones and went into the newly christened Delicacy with an open mind and empty tummy. I quickly scooped out the place, mentally taking note of all the stations. When you walk in, there's the fresh pressed juice section, then the cash register. Behind that is the prepackaged food area, which is next to the soup station, then followed by the sandwich bar. After you get into the rice/noodle* area, and finally, at the back is the hot food bar, as well as the salad station. I normally eat like sh!t at home, so I try to balance it out by getting a salad for lunch at work. I looked up to the menu board and immediately I was happy (and only got happier after when the cash register lady told me that it also came with a small soup for FREE!) because you could get unlimited vegetable toppings. As a vegetarian, it so happens that I'm only interested in the vegetables. While I have to admit the the sesame dressing next door at B&B may taste a little better, a small costs $8.66 over there. Delicacy offers theirs for $7.57, and that includes the free soup, too! For over a dollar less, and free soup (that varies in selection everyday) my money goes to the latter option any day (unless of course they repeat what they did to me last year, which I won't describe here because in all fairness, it was Nissi, their predecessor that was the culprit). *I haven't tried the noodle/rice section but I'm tempted to every time I go. They offer noodles and rice dishes from all sorts of cuisines like Korean, Thai and Japanese. I'm definitely interested in trying their bibimbap, pad thai and ramen. But you should check it out because they offer a lot more choices than that. **6/25 - Tried the Kimchi bibimbap today, it was fine but a little bland for my liking. I'd give it a 3.5/5 stars. **7/1 - Tried the Ramen today, it was actually quite delicious. It was very flavorful and filling, and I loved that they allowed you to choose what kind of veggies you wanted, and asked if you wanted an egg in there. 5/5 stars.

Everyone! Be careful! I don't know why but today they charged me 18% TAX! Wow! My friend charged 12% TAX! I want to explain this happened by some manager of this store. The point is, it is happens only one women. She seems like 40 old and kind of manager class person of this store. $2.12 * Tax9% = $2.31 .... ! I don't care about price. They just don't respect customers at all. Thank you.

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

To start, we ordered the grilled bread with vegan spreads for the table along with the potato leek and roasted red pepper soups. The bread and dips were a delightful way to begin the meal, and the potato leek soup was warm, comforting, and full of flavor. For our entrées, we chose the branzino and the seafood pasta in cioppino sauce. The branzino was light, flaky, and beautifully paired with delicious vegetables. The seafood pasta was hearty and warming--my husband and I split it, and it was more than enough to satisfy us both. We loved it so much we went back and second time for dinner. The first night we sat at the bar (it was crowded and we didn't have reservations) and made some friends who recommended Ivan's (the bartender) espresso martinis. Although we were drinking some white wine we decided after finishing those we would try them. Ivan makes them special with a little Bailey's! They were incredible! Like a dessert but not too sweet. Ivan shared his recommendations with us and we had some good conversation. We ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and Brussels salad as well. All very tasty. A couple of nights later we went back and had the rigatoni with red sauce which was phenomenal and our favorite and the Toscana salad, also great. The pastas taste homemade and everything is so fresh, including the bread. We of course ordered espresso martinis again and Ivan thought it might be us again and came by to say hi. It was not too oily either, if anything it could have had a touch more, but again this let the tomatoes come through. The pork and beef. meatballs are dense and served in a thickened tomato sauce. The bread that comes with it is nice for finishing that gorgeous sauce which does have a sprinkling of parm. The broccolini had a a touch of garlic and served with a lemon.
