    Chinese brunch set
    Megan Y.

Very large dining area without much of a wait. The service was quick and didn't rush us out once we finished. Brunch sets are very well-priced at around $12, and have a lot of variety. My favorite part of the Chinese set was the congee, but nothing about the food was super outstanding.

Food is fairly tasty, cheap, and fast. Tables moved quickly. We got HK tea/coffee, curry fish balls, Singaporean rice noodles, beef satay over rice, and toast with peanut butter and condensed milk. It's meant to be casual and quick food. The noodles were a bit too oily and the beef was a bit salty, but overall the flavors were nice and savory. The toast was a bit too dry and could've used more condensed milk.

My most unfavored part of this experience is the servers. They had preferred for us to pay with cash, which was fine with my group. What happened after was something I disliked. The server kept coming back saying that 18% tip was the minimum. 18% tip minimum? I had thought tipping was optional - my group's total was $36 and we did not have any change, so we decided to give $10. Next thing I know, I am listening to the server "show-boating" to his manager that he got a 30% tip. Not to mention, the manager was hyping up the server and saying "go get more money"... What kind of person will hype them up like that and out loud, plus my group was literally next to the check-out desk. Food was great, definitely love the fried rolls with condensed milk. Not to mentioned, the food was amazing, just the final experience is what got me to re-think about going back to this place to dine.

We had a spacious table for 3 adults and 3 kids at the back of the restaurant. This place was clean and service was fast. The food came out really quick even though the place was packed so that's good. My husband and I both ordered curry beef brisket and curry chicken. However his chicken dish barely had any chicken in it, it was mostly potatoes and his portion was not as much as my curry beef. I didn't like the plate we were served on either, made it hard to eat off of. My daughter's crispy bun w/condensed milk is literally a toasted burger bun. I would still come back and try different dishes because the service was good and I heard from my friend that the bathroom was clean.

Service was quick and efficient - easily got in around noon on a weekend. Food was decent as well - we got a big variety. Big space - busy but had the capacity for it!

This review is for Cha Kee's Hong Kong milk tea and pineapple bun with butter (bo lo yao). Both are excellent -- better than some tea and pineapple buns I recently had in Hong Kong even! The tea is brewed "stocking" tea -- not tea bags and one of my favorites in NY. The pineapple bun is warmed up and has a crunchier/crispier top than most buns, but it works with the butter. You can ask for extra butter for an additional $1 and they really give you a large pat. The tea and bun were not cheap, but very satisfying! Definitely recommend.

Hong Kong Style cafes is a great place for some cheap comfort food. This cafe was just okay, nothing really outstanding. Chicken chop noodle soup- this was ok, chicken was tasty but I i wished they would either fry the chicken skin a bit longer to make it crispy or just make it without the skin. This came in a mug sort of bowl. Fried Spaghetti with beef- some thing i can make at home Baked pork chop over spaghetti- I always order this at hk cafe and this was actually pretty bad that I didnt even want to eat it after a few bites. There was not enough tomato sauce and the cheese was not melty. Porkchop wad a bit fatty. Overall, this was just not good. It needs to be baked and lacked flavor.

This is a very spacious dining space. Ambiance is very modern. Pur favorite is the rice rolls with special sauce. It is very hot which we love. Not sure how the dish stay so hot for a long time. It is delicious. Our least favorite is the pork chop and onions. It appears that they fried the pork chop then lay the onions on top. We thought it was going to stir fry together but it was not. Also very greasy. The rest of our meal were average. The stir fry beef chow fun was ok but very greasy. The toast with condense milk was very buttery but not enough condense milk. Overall, we left the restaurant feeling super guilty because of the loaded amount of oil in our tummy. Worth a try but probably not going back.

This restaurant hits as a Hong Kong style morning breakfast place. I always come here for the satay beef instant noodle dish, and it comes topped with a fried egg. If you're here early enough, you get a free drink with it too! The curry fish balls were also delicious, and the toast will bring you back to those days when that was the simplest thing to eat in the morning. The service can be a bit slow at times, but they're getting better.

What an amazing experience. This place was much cleaner than and modern than expected, I walked right by it while strolling through Chinatown. We ordered the Chinese set for breakfast which was so affordable and delicious! I wasn't a fan of the bao, but everything else was so good. The service was quick and politer than typical HK service, so that is a plus!

Baked Portuguese chicken over white rice

Just okay, nothing special Ordered the baked rice lunches from this location after, not coming here for a couple years and I am underwhelmed. I was expecting more because this location is supposedly really popular and I know that at night they change into a different dining menu. The last time I was here when I had ordered baked rice and a noodle dish and the food was served cold. I decided to give this location another try because it has been a couple of years. But my impression of the food was not great. The pork chop had a really odd taste, and the rice for both dishes was throwing me off. It tasted like they used old stale rice that was reheated with some water? I also did not like the foil wrapper it came in instead of the tin baked containers that takeout usually gives for baked rice. It felt like they were trying to skim out on some rice/ingredients because the wrapper would take up more space in the plastic container that they used to hold the foil. Taste wise the Portuguese chicken was "just okay" I like that the potatoes were seasoned, but the sauce felt like it was lacking something because it wasn't very flavorful and for the pork chop the sauce was not great and the meat texture for the pork chop was not satisfying to bite into. I don't think I would come back here for the food again. I did order a passionfruit green tea drink, and that was pretty good but overall the meal was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. Probably worth skipping. The inside is pretty nice, but there's one lady server with a very nasty attitude.

Everyone that knows Chinatown knows Cha Kee. Delicious Hong Kong style food. The vibes are chill, there's plenty of seating, the staff are super nice and the food comes out super quick. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Baron. He is a chills and awesome dude and will make sure your visit went well.

I came here to throw down on some seafood and that's exactly what we did. I found out about this place because one of my favorite TikTok foodies posted that she came here when she was visiting from Chicago. It was also my friend's birthday so we figured we'd check it out. If you come with a group of 4 or more, including the birthday person, they eat for free, which is a pretty nice perk. This place lived up to every bit of the hype. We did the $125 option which includes lobster. If you have people in your group who are on the fence about spending the extra money, just remind them it's only about $35 more and that's basically the cost of one lobster anywhere else. Here you're getting unlimited lobster. The food literally just kept coming. At one point we were running out of room on the table. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed and started putting multiple items on the same plates instead of bringing everything out separately. It sounds small but it actually helped a lot and showed they were paying attention. The drinks weren't super strong but they definitely weren't weak either. If you love seafood, come hungry and bring a group. The vibes were great, the service was on point, and we left absolutely stuffed.

The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to others.

The happy hour menu is excellent, and the cocktail program is equally creative. On my most recent visit, I tried the Nam Gin Martini--unusual, beautifully balanced, and delicious. If you're dining solo, I recommend sitting at the bar, where the talented bartenders are happy to offer excellent mixology advice. There are several dishes I especially recommend. The Zabb Wings are crispy fried chicken wings tossed in a spicy, tangy dry rub of toasted rice powder, chili, lime, and mint. They're intensely flavorful and highly addictive. The Steamed Whole Fish is another standout: a whole branzino swimming in a vibrant, intensely aromatic broth of fresh chili, lime, mint, garlic, and culantro. The pork belly with chili and garlic is another dish worth ordering if you're looking for something rich, spicy, and deeply savory. Fish Cheeks was founded in 2016 by Thai immigrants--brothers Chef Ohm and Chat Suansilphong, along with Jenn Saesue and Pranwalai Kittirattanawiwat. The restaurant was born from their frustration with the homogenized "one-page" menus that dominated American Thai dining, which often centered on sweeter, standardized dishes such as Pad Thai and Massaman curry. Even the name reflects the restaurant's philosophy. The fish cheek is considered one of the most tender, flavorful, and prized parts of the fish in many Asian culinary traditions. When Fish Cheeks opened at 55 Bond Street, the team famously adopted a strict "no Pad Thai" policy, encouraging diners to explore regional Thai specialties and seafood dishes such as crab curries and whole steamed fish. It was a bold gamble that paid off, earning critical acclaim, including recognition from The New York Times. In 2022, Executive Chef Dustin Everett, formerly of Momofuku Ssam Bar and Pig & Khao, took over the kitchen, introducing seasonal dishes while preserving many of the restaurant's signature favorites. The experience extends beyond the food. Fish Cheeks plays contemporary Thai pop music, giving the restaurant a lively, distinctly modern atmosphere. It feels energetic without losing its connection to Thai culture. One important thing to know: this is not the restaurant for you if you're looking for Pad Thai. Fish Cheeks is about pushing beyond the familiar and discovering the bold, complex flavors of Thai regional cooking. The restaurant is popular, especially during peak dining hours, so reservations are highly recommended. Sitting at the bar for a cocktail and a few dishes or settling in for a full meal with friends, I always find Fish Cheeks to be one of my favorite places in NoHo for adventurous, sophisticated Thai food.
