The food was delicious, no complaints at all. The place is pretty spacious but not enough seating. The service was pleasant and quick but only issue was that even doe there's a lot of parking, it's super tough such that it's in such busy location. Other than that I will definitely go back.

Entrance

Food to expensive especially for the quality you are getting . 20 dollars for a regular burger and fries with no drink . Service is sub par , after paying nearly 20 dollars the cashier says be didn't have enough change to give me back and proceeded to try to make me accept that . I told him to refund me and I'll pay with my phone then all of a sudden he finds enough change to pay me back . The ambience is ok could be cleaner . On top of all of this I waited nearly 15 mins just for this simple order .

This Lady is terrible, rude, lazy, horrible to customers.

It's super popular since it's one of the view relatively affordable food options in Terminal 8, so seating tends to get crowded, there's usually a short line from noon thru the afternoon and early evening times though they are pretty efficient in both taking and processing orders. The line to order and the kitchen directly behind it--are along the left side of the restaurant, there are both registers to place in-person orders or kiosks to order digitally. Then you step over to the waiting area which is at the front left of the storefront, kinda pouring out into the terminal walkway. Seating is in the middle and right and consists in about 30 seats at tables for 2 or bar seating along the right wall. The space is pretty cramped considering travelers with carry-ons. Food-wise I got a chicken shack and side of fries ($18.26 including tax) which I was satisfied with, the meat was juicy and the exterior crunchy. The fries were crinkle cut and not too crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.bun was soft though held up the protein, tomato, onions a couple slices of pickles and piece of lettuce (I elected to add the toppings). I'd drop by again if I was hungry and waiting for a flight in terminal 8. Interestingly enough they had a staff member that was approaching patrons asking them how their experience was and asking (nicely) if they could write reviews on Google, no benefits attached whatsoever though sounds like they were hoping for some positive reviews and also asking for feedback.

Now you can conveniently order a burger in no time from a location in the airport. You place your food order from a touch screen kiosk. You can also watch your order being prepared by employees in the kitchen. This location has the typical Shake Shack vibe and flair. I ordered the single-patty ShackBurger, a made-to-order quarter pound patty of 100% Angus beef with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. The burger really hit the spot before a flight. The burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and made fresh, with the perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and bun. Simple, classic, and satisfying. For an airport location, the quality held up surprisingly well. Service was a bit slow but everything came out hot and neatly put together. Prices are a bit higher at the airport, but the consistency and flavor made it worth it. Solid choice if you're craving a reliable burger at JFK and want something familiar and filling before takeoff.

Perhaps they're evocative of my childhood and youth, when every diner and burger joint served them. So I headed to Shake Shack for some lovely delicious fries. Ordering is a pain. You use a kiosk. No live people. I had gotten a bottle of water. The screen said to "scan" any other items. There is no barcode and no scanner. After saying three or four times that I couldn't scan the water, someone came over. You have to page through the menu. Ugh. Paid, typed in my name, and waited. And waited. Finally, my name was called, and I got my fries and some napkins. I sat I a lounge chair right across from Shake Shack, and.....the fries were cold. Terrible, awful, crushing disappointment. I so rarely eat fries these days. I was anticipating hot, golden, lovely crispy fries. I got lukewarm semi-limp mostly underdone fries. A sad, sad feeling. There's no seating at Shake Shack, but you can sit at a gate or take your food with you. Employees were working very hard, so it's strange that my fries were cold. I picked them up right away when my name was called. I probably won't come back, if I am in this terminal another time.

Nanking - A Perfect Spot for Layovers (or Locals)!…read more When my in-laws had a long layover at JFK, we decided to meet them for dinner, and Nanking turned out to be a fantastic choice. As a Brooklyn local, I hadn't explored many restaurants near JFK, and found slim pickings for Chinese or Thai food by the airport. First off, the ambiance is good--booth seating along the walls and a welcoming, authentic vibe. I was a bit skeptical at first about the large menu (Indian, Thai, and Chinese?!) because that's often a red flag. But, spoiler alert: Nanking proved me wrong! What we ordered: * Navaratan Korma: Super fresh veggies, rich and flavorful. As someone who makes this at home, I was impressed! * Lamb Korma: Delicious, tender, and full of depth. * Naan: A little thinner than usual but still tasty, especially paired with the curries. * Hot and Sour Soup: the in-laws finished their bowl. * Fish Curry: when my FIL ordered this we had a mini-panic that it wouldn't be fresh given the large menu and not apparent seafood focus -- bad fish ahead of a international flight seems worth avoiding at all costs -- but our server was quick and confident with her assertion the fish was fresh and I stood corrected! FIL reported back that it was flavorful, fresh and not overly creamy. * Butter Chicken: A weekly favorite of a diner sitting near us who gave it high praise, and the MIL reported she was right. (Her tip: Pair it with garlic naan--A+ advice!) The drink deals were great, and the prices overall were super reasonable. The only downside was the timing--our food took about 30 minutes, and the drinks were slow too. But with a party of 20 arriving at the same time as us, it's understandable. (And kudos to the menu for being upfront: "Let us know if you're in a hurry.") In short, Nanking is a gem for anyone looking for authentic flavors near JFK. My in-laws left happy, and if the situation presents itself again well definitely be back.

I called Nanking to cancel this chicken Manchurian order who instructed me to directly contact Grubhub for cancelling because Nanking has no ability to cancel as this order originated from Grubhub.
