The tall guy behind the counter. Said they do not deliver . I guess leaving young kids playing music and drinking is not a good thing. Also my friend just moved their and i could not come to Queens. After this I did and it was the tall guy. Very rude and looking at the food it looks dry. Just a bunch a kids drinking, playing loud music. Also I felt terrible for suggesting that place for him. Had the change to try BBQ hut while passing through Queens. I ordered the BBQ chicken with a side of Mac and cheese. The chicken was juicy and packed with flavor. Mac and cheese also hit the spot. Ratings drops drastically, this weekend I ordered food, I always rated this place as a 5star. But after last weekend it didn't deserve any stars, the lamb was chopped up into bite size pieces, what happened to having a good serving of lamb like before? Then the potato salad was just bad like idk how to describe the taste and texture. The fried rice had not enough seasonings, it's wasn't bad but could've done better, the chicken was good because of that garlic sauce. The service was quick when I called and order was ready in 10 min, but idk if they changed owners, chef but guys paying $50 for food that wasn't even tasty really is disappointed, please do better. Update: Tried their BBQ Lamb and BBQ Chicken recently and I am hooked. Lol The lamb is tender and rich in flavor with the perfect amount of seasoning. It does NOT have that gamey taste to it, its absolutely delicious and fresh. I find myself craving it every couple of weeks..I've probably had it at least 5x's since I first tried it in August. The BBQ Chicken is also good! Oohwee, no complaints! Tender and juicy with some grill marks. Love it! Next to try is the Jerk Lamb!! Something tells me i'm gonna love that too. Lol. read more

I feel obligated to post this followup review after a few years when my first review was less favorable. Now that they have restarted and rebranded themselves, I decided to try them again. There was never anything lacking in their BBQ chicken. It was the poorly prepared side dishes, along with their service without a smile, and sense of disfunctionalty in this small takeout joint that gave me the negative impressions. Fast forward to today. First, they are friendlier and more organized than before. Second, the authentic and mesmerizing flavor of the BBQ chicken remains second to none, and the fried rice, veggies and macaroni pie that I ordered with it were very good in texture and flavor. The aroma and the taste of the food overall replicates true Trini cuisine deliciousness. I am Trini and know good Trini food when I taste it. You will not be disappointed. Remember, it is a takeout service only wit no sitting area, and finding parking there is always a difficult. Now only if I can find a really good calalloo to accompany my macaroni pie. read more

I've picked food from here at least 3 times last month. The food here is good and the I gave it a chance based on other yelp reviews. The Rasta pasta is delicious. The fried shrimp is good too. The bbq chicken is good but the sauce is a little on the sweet side. I got a lamb plate based on the reviews and I too recommend it. Do know it's not the same as other halal spots. The lamb here is actual lamb meat (and contains bones). Get the bbq and garlic sauce on top. Ordering can take some time because it's a pick up and go spot. No seats. I feel like that tip is left out of some other reviews. Orders usually take around 20-25 minutes so expect to wait in your car for a bit. Some nights (esp on the weekend) it gets a bit crowded and sometimes the person taking orders gets names mixed up but just keep an ear and eye out for your food. Finally got the chance to try these guys after months of pining. In the end, it was just okay. My cousin was visiting from England and we were looking for places that did delivery and lo and behold I suggested this spot. My bro and cousin both got the lamb and fries and I got the BBQ chicken with jerk mac (added cost) and mashed potatoes as a side. The boys enjoyed their lamb but I personally found it pathetic. There was barely any meat on it and was legit all bone. The flavor was good but that was a skinny lamb that's for sure. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were boxed so basically water mixed with dehydrated potato powder. As for the jerk mac, it was okay but there wasn't at all an equal portion of the jerk Mac to mashed potato. 3/4 was mashed potatoes and the jerk Mac that I paid two additional dollars for was only 1/4th of the portion. I wish there was one more chicken leg because it did not feel like enough meat for all the sides and for almost 20 bucks it feels like I'm paying only for sides and a bit of meat scraps. I definitely liked the meal but I couldn't say I'd be back given the prices. Though I might consider trying the Rasta pasta in the future. read more

One star docked because the guy at the window could've exercised more patience and tact when I initially dealt with him . In mid order he rudely just cut away and started dealing with some other take out orders . Normally that alone would grant a one star rating but ,I'll keep the review mainly about the food. The food for the most part was very good . I got the BBQ chicken with jerk Mac and coleslaw . My chicken was almost perfectly cooked . I think it could've stayed a couple minutes more on the grill to get the skin crispy and give it a better bite but otherwise it tasted very good . The bbq sauce is their own signature sauce and very non traditional American bbq style . The jerk mac and cheese was also good but I'd say it is something better eaten alone than as a side . I think the plain mac and cheese would've complimented the food better . The coleslaw I was impressed with . Some of the best I've had. Light yet creamy and not too runny . The food here is really good . I've read reviews on their bbq lamb and I'd have to try that next time. This is a take out restaurant . There is 0 seating . You are better off looking at their menu and ordering BEFORE getting there. I've ordered from here at least 70 times over the last couple of years... it's that good. I've been a customer since the very first month the original restaurant in this space opened up, T&T BBQ Hut. The original owners put a lot of care and love into the space, but they eventually sold the business. Things went down the tubes, hard, and quick... so if you see poor reviews from a few years ago, that's probably why. I believe new management took over just before the pandemic hit, and completely turned it around. It's just as good as it used to be when it first opened - and better - because they have online ordering now, and the food arrives fresh and hot. The chicken is juicy and tastes great, and the sides are always fresh, and the sauces are consistently good. You might see some complaints about the prices in the other reviews, and that's mostly due to the location. Food in the general vicinity skews extremely cheap, so that's what the neighborhood usually expects. But the quality is often mediocre, and the service is nonexistent, in many of the nearby places. This place prices its items to reflect the fresh, quality ingredients they use. And, if you haven't noticed, food costs have risen starkly since 2020. Lastly, they exclusively use halal meats, which is the only reason I'm a customer, but this also adds to their costs. Overall, it's an excellent place and worth trying if you're in the area. read more

Not worth the $53 for 2 Rasta pastas. The portions are small & I wouldn't call the pasta Rasta pasta. It's literally bare noodles with jerk seasoning, it's very dry there's no sauce whatsoever besides the BBQ sauce from the lamb. The lamb itself is good the pasta just isn't it. One of the best spots in the neighborhood and halal too. You can never go wrong with any of their meats. The bbq lamb is my personal favorite. Their mac and cheese and mash potatoes are always a hit. I never tried plantains before and asked if we could have one or two just try and the lady serving gave us more than we asked for. Super sweet and kind! I love the macaroni pie and the potato salad too, but the bbq lamb is definitely the gem here. I always ask for extra green seasoning on top as well as bbq sauce. This is one of my favorite spots of all time, and it's halal! This is great takeout food, not really a good spot to eat in. My tip would be to call twenty to thirty minutes before picking up though because the bbq lamb takes 20 minutes to prepare. read more
