The night time crew specifically the Front Of House employees for Shack Shake at 1 Penn Station on 3/16/26 have to be some of the most incompetent, unprofessional and rudest people that I have ever encountered. When a customer ask for their mobile order and they can see the Milkshake sitting on the shelf, just give it to them! Literally had to wait 30+ minutes for someone to actually notice that the Mobile slip sticker does say William after being told twice that it wasn't my order. Then when I asked for help due to waiting 30+ minutes for a MILKSHAKE, this woman acted like I pissed in her cereal when I asked for help and she said "What". RUDE! However, a guy came from the kitchen and noticed I was still standing there, asked for my name, grabbed the milkshake, and told the woman who was rude when I asked for help to remake the milkshake. I will never spend my money at this location again. The GM needs to look into training and development being that Penn Station is high traffic with locals and tourist.

This one is located in Penn Station. Social distancing in effect. I had my usual, the mushroom burger with fries. I had to get my fast food fix before I head to my hotel room. As usual tasty. Pleasant professional staff. Great service. - Sha.

This may be a sub par shake shack when put into perspective with other shake shacks... and shake shack may have become mundane fast food to begin with, but Long Island shake shacks suck, and a chicken shack holds a warm place in my heart... bitter sweet memories attached and all. I love being able to order online and get there 5 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready but 2 minutes before my train leaves... I'll try to time it better because that ready time sure as shit isn't a guarantee.

Gave a this Shake Shack another go and was more impressed thos time. Being this is a busy Shake Shack location, I have to give credit where it is due. The crew members were patient and friendly through the rush. I presented a promotion and the crew member helping me was throrough in trying to help me get it processed. He had to call for a. Manager who was also nice during it. With the new approach to the use of disposable utensils and the like, I can appreciate the straws being dispensed upon request, which another crew member did with no problem. I got a smokehouse burger like I did last visit and it was great, seemed much meatier and saucy than last time. My cookies and cream shake also hit the spot. So it appears to have improved here and again credit goes to probably one of the busier locations as opposed to a standalone one with less varied traffic.

The spicy chicken sandwich is way too spicy! My lips are burning beneath my mask. Where are you supposed to eat after you take out from this place anyway? You can't eat in the restaurant and you can't eat at the waiting areas, I went outside for some peace and quiet, good thing the homeless guy decided to walk on by. Chick-fil-A is still the best for spicy chicken sandwiches.

This place doesn't get enough credit. I mean listen, the name is Shack Shack. If that doesn't help set your expectations when it comes to food, then no amount of pretentious kobe burger is gonna satisfy you. Here's what's great about this place: the food is consistently good, and more importantly, the staff is friendly and is pretty outstanding in terms of fast casual service. And Penn Station can't be an easy location to work at, either! There're like a hundred places to eat around here, but Shake Shack at Penn always manages to hit the spot and helps me leave feeling better! I usually take the food to go to catch a train, dodging the tourists with their excessively sized luggage and the occasional batshit insane long islanders always going around starting the most pointless dramas, screeching at the top of their lungs (the only time you can clearly hear an echo in here with the constant stampeding drowning everything else out). Food wise, their chicken sandwich is nicely crispy, their shroom burger is luxuriously cheesy, their shakes/concretes are love materialized, and their chili is perfectly spicy, beefy, and delicious! Their beef patty is just okay, but I discovered that I can ask for it "well done," which unintuitively makes it tastes better, for me anyway. The fattiness just melts all over and makes the patty extra crispy and awesome, and yes, you can make your own spicy mayo and add that in too at the self-serve condiment counter. Shake Shack, just keep doing you!

It is great to be able to order Shake Shack on their mobile app. We ordered it for 715 at the Penn Station location and received it as scheduled - so they were efficient and prompt with our food. I am from the west coast so Shake Shack is kind of a rival to our In-N-Out out here. The burgers are pretty different, with In-N-Out having more toppings and the main difference is a thousand-island type of dressing on the In-N-Out Burger while Shake Shack has more of light cheese dressing. The burgers are comparable and fresh and both are great. Shake Shack fries are perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, which I really love as well. At this particular location, my main complaint is the set-up and logistics. It is really hard to sit at the table benches (they have some metal thing making it difficult to sit down on the inside?) even though there is also really little seating. Then, they have someone making and selling drinks at the front of the store, as if the space was not crowded enough. It was a pretty awful set-up.

Second visit to this Penn Station locale; first visit was for breakfast. Second time was for a quick bite, pre-home commute. Why not? It's just so good. This spot like all the others, are super high traffic. The hard part is getting a seat but if you're lucky, most people move on after 20 mins. - 30 mins. There's always standing room (counter top where you can still eat, just can't sit). Not sure why they didn't incorporate more seating but with the rush, I would think most people take it to go. This visit, I wanted to try the "Hot Chick'n" (spicy chicken sandwich). While not usually a fan of really spicy meals, I figured this would be more of a mild spice so I dared to try. It was spicier than I had planned but it was so good! The fried chicken was juicy and the sandwich overall packed a nice flavor combo, between the spicy peppers, dill pickles and the Louisiana hot sauce slaw - nice punch to it. I could've done without the pickles actually - which I ended up picking them out after a few bites and ate it separately. My favorite sandwich is still the shroom or double stack but it's fun to mix it up a bit. Always a great experience at Shake Shack. Per my niece, she was not a fan of the Stumptown Chocolate Coffee...but it was likely she was hoping it was more "chocolate-y" and less "coffee". So for coffee fans, you may like it...for those wanting like chocolate milk, this is NOT it. Of course, as with every visit, you must get the fries. It's crinkle cut Yukon gold...delicious. They got the fries down to a science. I like mine w/ cheese sauce...hee hee. YOLO.

I was waiting for a train at Penn Station and had about 30 minutes to spare, so naturally, I found myself at Shake Shack. This fast casual chain is a great addition to Penn Station. Despite being busy, I was able to order pretty quickly. I've had most of the menu options here but decided to try their new Chick'n Bites! I ordered a 10-piece Chick'n Bites (~$7) with French Fries (~$3). The Chick'n Bites comes with either Honey Mustard Sauce or BBQ Sauce. I got both! Despite being super busy in Penn Station, my order was ready in a timely manner. The chicken nuggets were crispy, tender, and tasty! They went well with the French fries which are a no-brainer when it comes to ordering at Shake Shack. They go well with anything! The sauces were pretty good. I preferred the honey mustard as it gave it a sweet and savory twist in each dip. My only complaint was that there isn't enough seating and the area where people wait for their orders and the area where people get condiments gets pretty meshed together making it hard to move. It is smaller than most Shake Shack locations I've gone to but what matters is the food hit the spot! Until next time, Shake Shack!

Thanks Shake Shack!! Their burgers and fries are always cooked to perfection. The servers are great, polite, and didn't hesitate to help each other out when they had an issue with the order. The lettuce is always fresh and the buns are soft. Cheese fries are always my go to and the fries are never soggy. Probably visited this location at least 5x and Shake Shack never failed to satisfy the late night burger craving.

Shake Shacks are always 5 stars for me, but this one has to get a slight downgrade because they don't have concretes here. I arrived excited to see what the new location-specific flavors were going to be, but unfortunately saw that they only do Custard and shakes. One major bonus though is that they do offer breakfast here, so you can get the awesome Bacon, Egg & Cheese, which is only available at a few shacks in NYC. They also have a new apple turnover for breakfast, a collaboration with the excellent Four & Twenty Blackbirds. With Underwest Donuts just opening upstairs (seriously guys, major missed opportunity for an amazing donut concrete) and now this on the lower level, the Penn Station dining options are really looking up.

Located in the bottom concourse of the LIRR Penn Station. If you can't find it, best to take the escalators down from the LIRR entrance on 34th street and 7th Avenue and make a right after you see Duane Reade. Lines can be a hit or miss, it can be long and slow, and other times, it can be short but still slow in getting your orders. Came here at prime time 12pm noon, and the line was beginning to go out the store. I must've waited about 6-10 minutes before it was my turn to order. After ordering it took about 15 minutes for my order to come out. So if you got a train to catch, give yourself like 20+ minutes if you plan to order anything from this location. Since this place is fairly new, I witnessed the line cooks and the staff behind the pick up counter become stressed with the huge amount of orders they have left on their screen. A good amount of customers went back to the counter to correct their orders because they were either missing something or got something completely different. I fortunately didn't get anything wrong in my order. 1 shack burger with everything on it, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, shack sauce; well done 1 hamburger with everything on it; medium done 2 orders of regular fries 1 vanilla shake The quality of their burgers is about the same, but the patty felt a little thinner than the usual at other locations. The patty was also a bit on the crispier dry side rather than the meaty and moist side that I was used to at other locations. Their fries were still on point, but I hate having to take packets of ketchup at their condiments bar. I guess it's faster for people to just grab and go, instead of pumping stuff into the small cups and putting a lid on it. Other than not having condiment pumps, the area itself was fairly clean. Do not expect to have any available seating. There are only about 8 tables and some high tables, but they are usually occupied. If you catch a seat, consider yourself lucky. Best to just grab and eat somewhere around the area. The area I would recommend eating is the public seating area on 33rd street, between 7th and 8th avenue on the side of Madison Sq.Garden (in front of the Pennsy food court). There's a small section of the street that's closed off from traffic and have plenty of public tables and chairs. Not ideal for the winter, but it's a good spot. If I had a choice, I would definitely skip this location and visit their other locations, especially when you are bringing friends/coworkers who have never tried Shake Shack before. Maybe in time this place can improve.

The pork soup dumplings arrived literally spilling pink/red liquid that looked like blood. My mother had never tried soup dumplings before, so we were hoping for a fun experience, but she immediately spit it out. I brought it back and showed the staff the uncooked pork and the blood/red liquid on the napkin. They simply re-steamed them and brought them back except now there was no soup left inside the dumplings at all. The chicken teriyaki was tough and chewy, almost like jerky, as if it had been overcooked on an extremely hot grill or deep fried too long. The spring rolls were mediocre at best, with vegetables inside that had a mushy, paste-like texture. Very disappointing. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the rice. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

I was happy to see certain items on the menu were designated as vegetarian. If I lived in town I would come back and try all their veggie friendly options. The small order of veg dumplings was a very reasonable price and portion. I thought they were well stuffed with veggies. I was a little disappointed with the dumpling wrapper- i prefer a lighter softer wrapper. But overall I still ate it all, and it was a quick nice snack. My husband really enjoyed his orange chicken with rice and veggies. It was a huge portion- he was only able to eat half of it. Great value.
