Great taste and value Peruvian spot. Got a 1/4 chicken with rice, maduros, and spicy sauce for under $15 which is unheard of these days. The chicken was delicious and perfectly cooked, maduros hit the spot, and the spicy sauce had a nice flavor to it. Will definitely be coming back here for lunch!

Great little restaurant near MSG. Great food, full of flavor. Service was true hospitality with a smile.

This was my first time here. I ordered the 1/2 chicken combo with 2 sides. For my sides I had white rice and beans. 1/2 chicken was a lot of food for a person. I probably could've gotten away with the 1/4 chicken. The food was ready quickly and had so much flavor!!! And for the amount of food you get the price is fair. They also sell Inca Kola here which is pretty cool. I'll come back here!!!

A pleasant surprise on a quiet Thursday, pre-holiday weekend. I was in the mood for something that wasn't a giant fast food chain (which is 90% of this area), and I'd noticed this little guy an avenue block away or so from my office. It's just far enough away from the chaos of MSG/Penn Station where it's not overloaded with tourists staring slack-jawed at the taxis and skyscrapers, and honestly probably a little too edgy for them anyway. Big selling point for me. I wandered in here around 1pm yesterday. Since it was the day before the 4th of July, it was pretty quiet - I'm sure most of their demo is the almighty office worker, many of whom were already presumably chilling out at the shore with their PBRs. A few people made comments within earshot that it was much less chaotic than usual, and given that there's a written disclaimer by the counter that customers should expect a 20-minute wait for the rice bowls during rush hour, I'm 100% planning to order ahead the next time I'm hankering for some Peruvian food. But on this particularly day I got lucky. There's probably about five or six tables in there, only one or two of which was occupied. Cute spot; looks pretty spiffy and given that they don't have a ton of space to play around with, it doesn't feel claustrophobic. Again, it WAS an abnormally quiet work day in the city. Maybe it feels exactly like Penn Station on a normal weekday. There were honestly a lot of options that looked intriguing. I'm not a huge rotisserie chicken person (I find bones distracting unless it's something more straight-forward like a turkey leg or ribs where you're eating off the bone versus around it, if that makes sense), which seems to be their big seller. I went with the chicken rice bowl, and opted for the accompanying Peruvian fried rice, featuring eggs and scallions. Really tasty, filling stuff - something more for the end of the week than the beginning. The inclusion of the eggs reminded me of a Thai dish, and there was definitely some spice to the proceedings, which I tend to measure in nose blows (two in this case). The chicken was flavorful and tender, and I'm assuming one of the big attributes of the rotisserie section as well. Solid portion; the only issue I had was a personal palate one - I'm not crazy about crunchy onions/scallions on a texture basis, though they're upfront about its inclusion. The women behind the counter were decently busy - they seemed to have a lot of to-go orders as well as the in-person customers like myself - but were personable and accommodating. I was expecting to have to wait a while just by virtue of the time of day, but I had my rice bowl within about three or four minutes, which was awesome. Wasn't feeling quite frisky enough to venture into the fried sides territory but I wouldn't be opposed to trying the tostadas or empanadas on a future visit. Absolutely adding this place to the midday rotation. Hopefully its more subtle location (I mean, as subtle as you're going to get on 34th and 9th) keeps the hordes at bay and limits the wait times going forward.

Wow, that is some tasty Peruvian chicken right there! My coworker was raving about Chirp and urged me to try their signature "Chirp chicken sandwich" (I usually go for bowls but he loved the bread). He warned it would be a lot of food and it was indeed a monster! The addition of sweet plantain gives it a unique and crave-worthy taste profile. The chicken is tender and flavorful, and there's a generous pile of it - no wonder they give you a knife & fork, as you will need them! The pork confit sandwich looks yummy and hearty as well and I can't wait to try it. I have also had their rice bowls (Peruvian fried rice), the creamy chicken (ají de gallina), and the rotisserie chicken combo - all absolutely excellent! The brown rice is unbelievably good; and the tostones are thin, crispy yet chewy, and gently seasoned, possibly the best I've had. Be sure to ask for their sauces too - they come in spicy, mild, and garlic. I always do the "red & green."

The food was good asf, not only do you get a piece of authentic Peruvian food, and they have variety of sodas to choose from. Overall food and service was good

Food: Portions are huuuuge! Get the 1/2 chicken platter if youre really really hungry or else its a LOT for 17 bucks. Chicken is cooked perfectly, the sauce is amazing, yuca fries were great and same with the beans. Service: people taking orders were nice and friendly. It did take a bit long to get the food ready but they had a sign saying theres long wait times during rush hour and theyre super busy! Ambiance: feels very comfortable in there. Can get loud, but ample seating for lunch time and is a comfy atmosphere. Highly recommend. You'll get lots of food and its tasty.

If you love Peruvian food, YOU'LL LOVE CHIRP! Definitely some of the best fast food you can find in NYC! The cooks are fast and serve some of the hottest and freshest food! And don't forget the sauce!!!

Might've ordered wrongly, but my friend and I both got rice bowls with chicken, one in stir fry style and the other in a fried rice ($17 each). The fried rice bowl was a lot smaller portion and had way less chicken, and the stir fry was really really salty. Not sure if it's consistently like this but for $17 it felt a little steep!

The pork soup dumplings arrived literally spilling pink/red liquid that looked like blood. I brought it back and showed the staff the uncooked pork and the blood/red liquid on the napkin. They simply re-steamed them and brought them back except now there was no soup left inside the dumplings at all. The chicken teriyaki was tough and chewy, almost like jerky, as if it had been overcooked on an extremely hot grill or deep fried too long. The spring rolls were mediocre at best, with vegetables inside that had a mushy, paste-like texture. Very disappointing. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the rice. The small order of veg dumplings was a very reasonable price and portion. I thought they were well stuffed with veggies. I was a little disappointed with the dumpling wrapper- i prefer a lighter softer wrapper. But overall I still ate it all, and it was a quick nice snack. My husband really enjoyed his orange chicken with rice and veggies. It was a huge portion- he was only able to eat half of it. Great value.
