    Roast Chicken

Kausa is such an amazing little Peruvian Restaurant in Hells Kitchen. It's no-nonsense, unpretentious restaurant that delivers up some yummy food and drinks! I feel like Kausa is a hidden secret, as it's never super crowded. And the crowd you do see there mostly includes locals who know the deal. On our first visit, we sat at the bar and had yummy drinks (and were served by a super nice bartender who gave us the low down on all the best selections at Kausa). We ordered the Chicken meal, which was easily shareable for two. It featured yummy roasted chicken, rice & beans, avocado, salchipapa (fries mixed with sausage), and all the usual Peruvian sauces (verde sauce and ají amarillo). Everything was mouth-watering! Trust. In fact, I'm getting excited just thinking about going back to Kausa! Final thoughts = If you're hanging out in HK, hit up Kausa. You'll be glad you did.

Kausa is one of those Peruvian restaurants I absolutely love coming back to. On this visit, my friend and I decided to challenge ourselves and ordered the octopus and the salmon with black ink sauce. Wow, both dishes were outstanding. My salmon was perfectly cooked and packed with just the right amount of flavor, while my friend's octopus she mentioned was a little bit on the salty side. To my surprise, she still finished every bite. To end the evening, we shared the tres leches cake, which was creamy, moist, and had the perfect texture. From the adventurous dishes to the wonderful dessert, Kausa was a fantastic place to enjoy a memorable night.

An awesome find. We were hunting for new spot to order lunch from (at work) and someone suggested we could try Kausa. Our go to spot for Peruvian style rotisserie chicken was "Chirping Chicken", but they are very inconsistent (some times they were good, some times they were bad). Everyone (about 11 of us) was happy with their meal. I personally found that their food is actually better than our usual go to chicken spot. Why not 5 stars...? Well, I got a 1/2 chicken meal and I was sent 2 breasts. I guess some people would say that's a win... but, I am not a huge fan of chicken breast... even though theirs (or at least what I got from them that day) was better than average... the ONE breast that comes in a 1/2 chicken is more than plenty for me.

Once again great ceviche de Corvina. Tried the cheese empanadas that were great. Always accompany with tostones. A wonderful meal.

Got the half chicken and 2 sides for $18- great value! Lots of food. But needed more salt/seasoning and chicken was a little dry. Sauces are service are great!

I had a delivery order from this fine Peruvian restaurant. I ordered oysters, beef empanadas, ceviche mixto, papa huancaina, chupa de camarones, a half chicken, maduros sweet plantains, and the rice & beans mix. The food was very good though the kausa fell apart on a delivery order, so I would suggest this for dining in only. The ceviche was fresh and well spiced. The chicken was tasty, moist, and well-glazed with two dipping sauces. The papa huancaina were fresh, and perfectly cooked. The empanadas taste homemade with ground beef, a crispy exterior and a sweet tomato sauce. The chupe de camarones was really good with juicy shrimp, some vegetables, and a poached egg. The plantains and rice & beans were well made. Delivery was quick, and packing was good. Highly recommended. *Get the Mister Kausa for dining in only.

A lively joint for a later post-theater dinner. Nice gayborhood vibe. Love Peruvian food and they do it well! Whole Rotisserie Chicken: So much better than grocery store rotisserie chicken! All the flavor from all those spices, plus so moist. Especially love the sauces that came with it. This and a side makes a very hearty meal for two! Tacu Tacu: Got the vegetarian version to stand in as a side for the rotisserie chicken. Was kinda surprised to see a random pile of vegetables next to the tacu tacu. I guess it's healthier that way, but I honestly would have preferred just more tacu tacu. Since it was nicely seasoned with a lot of yummy beans mixed in. Pionono: This looked cool and sounded interesting, but it was kinda boring. Very little dulce de leche, so it felt dry.

Cocktails were fantastic - strong but tasty and still sweet without being too bitter. Service was good our waitress was attentive. The tacu tacu was a big portion where two could share and it was delicious. The meat was a perfect medium rare that paired nicely with the rice, egg, onions, and tomato. A nice upgrade from a typical lomo saltado.

Not only did the drinks looked good, it tasted wonderful. Thanks to the bartender Ricardo, he made sure we enjoyed the night:) even added a cute heart on my drink. 10/10 experience and I'll be coming backkk

Literally ALL of the food I ordered was Amazing, tasty, delicious and it exceeded my expectations! Very recommend the corvina ceviche, pasta with Juan Ana sauce and lomo al jugo. Papa la huancaina needed a little bit of more sauce, but the taste was great.

Delicious. Order the anticuchos, pollo a la brasa, ceviche mixto, and arroz con Mariscos. Carajillo too

We walked into a space that stood out compared to many smaller bubble tea shops, with a much more comfortable setup and plenty of seating that made it a place where we could actually sit down and enjoy our drink instead of just grabbing it to go. The clean interior and modern décor gave it a relaxed café feel, and watching the staff prepare the boba added a layer of engagement to the experience. The brown sugar milk boba is the main highlight and the drink that best represents what the shop does well. We ordered one and found the brown sugar flavor rich and caramel-like without becoming overly sweet, and the fresh-made boba had a softer, chewier texture compared to many standard tapioca pearls. The drink had a good balance between the sweetness, milk, and tea flavors, which made it easy to enjoy even for those who normally prefer less sugary drinks. Beyond the signature brown sugar drinks, there were also a variety of fruit teas, milk teas, and specialty options. The oolong milk tea stood out because the tea flavor came through more clearly, while fruit-based options like lychee drinks offered a lighter and more refreshing choice. The ability to customize sweetness levels also made it easier to find a drink that matched our preference. The service was quick and the staff were friendly during our visit. Since the boba is made fresh in-house, watching the preparation process gave the shop a more unique feel compared to typical chain bubble tea spots. The larger seating area was also a nice advantage, especially if we wanted to meet up with friends or take a break while exploring Koreatown. The team moved through orders efficiently, and the drinks came out without much delay. Overall, Xing Fu Tang Ktown is a strong choice for anyone looking for high-quality boba in a comfortable setting. The fresh-made pearls, well-balanced drinks, and spacious café atmosphere make it stand out from many other bubble tea shops in the area. It is a spot we would return to when we want a drink that feels more thoughtfully prepared rather than just a quick sweet beverage.

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
