I gotta be honest. This was one of the most disgusting and disappointing experiences I've had in years. Decided to try something because I saw the one on 40th street had a 4.5 rating on Yelp. Not a lot of reviews, but said hey- let me go against my traditional feelings of more popular burger places and venture out. I regret this so much. I went to the one on 39th. The energy was bad. i came here yesterday with my wife and kid and had the most disgusting burger that I can think of to recent date. Most of the video games weren't even working. They had restaurant tables and folding ones - just weird vibes. The Big Boy burger was horrible. Looked good when it first came out. I was actually excited. I thought Id found a hidden gem. The burger featured, lettuce, tomato, onions, two patties, cheddar cheese, some kind of sauce and beef bacon. The bacon was so bad. It was chewy and hard at same time. Didn't even know you could do that. It was barely edible, i had to take it all off. It gave stale and old and was not good. The beef of the burger had no flavor or seasoning. It just tasted like meat on bread with no effort. The sauce was barely even there. The tomato seemed okay but made the whole sandwich soggy and the green vegetables on the sandwich were a waste. I hated it. I cant remember the last time I couldn't get through half a burger. The fries were the only decent thing I tasted. Even the ketchup was cheap. It was super watery and thats from the packets. I'm never coming back here again. Hopefully the chicken is better. i doubt I'll ever find out. read more

I hate to disagree with every person in this review section, but I did not like this burger place. I got their manic cheeseburger with fries. The fries were okay, but the cheeseburger was horrible - the meat tasted, excuse me for using very explicit language, putrid. I could not take more than one bite of it once I got the taste of meat; it comes with onions too, and weirdly enough, at least for me, they weren't smashed with the burger, not that that would've made it taste better anyway. I was extremely disappointed as the lady behind the counter was very nice and it seems like a family establishment. It is a very small shop and there's very little seating so it's more of a takeout place. I have had many smash burgers in the city and in other places, and unfortunately, this is the worst one I've tried. read more

I ordered takeout from Burgermainia and got the Big Boy combo with no onions since I don't like them. My order was ready pretty fast. It's a small spot that seems mainly focused on takeout. The burger itself was good, and the fries were nice and crispy. The only downside was the bacon, it was pretty hard to bite through, so I ended up eating it in one bite. My son wanted burgers so went to Burgermania since we were in the area. Ordered at the counter and were called when ready. My first choice to try was Chorizo burger but wasn't available so went for the Oozy burger (just shared with my hubby bec I don't usually finish a whole burger anyway) - 2 patties with cheese, didn't notice the mushrooms, had too much of the sauce, in a mushy bun. Combos come with fries (not a lot) and drink (canned or fountain; mostly carbonated except for water). Some specials posted: combo meals for 2 students for $20 (need IDs); and sliders lunch deal $4.99. Not gonna lie, I was actually attracted by the bright yellow wall with the colorful variety of burger drawings while on my way to get soup dumplings for dinner. I was thinking to myself, perhaps I could get soup dumplings next time and sit down for a burger which I did just that. Went up to the counter and ordered the Chorizo Burger Combo that consisted of a cheeseburger, soft drink of choice (grape soda), and cajun fries. Soft drink could be either a can of soda from the fridge or from the machine itself where the staff filled it for you. You can write a Google review in order to get a free soda/refill. Friendly service from friendly staff. They were calling out the # on people's receipt. Didn't take too long to get my food from the counter. Ohh and by the way, did I mention that Burgermania is a halal burger spot? They use grass-fed beef and beef is always fresh; never frozen. No restroom for customers. Several old-school arcade machines were found right next to the seating area of the tables and chairs. I found myself an empty table and sat down to start digging in. Burger was juicy, beef pattie was mouthwatering, and the cheese in between the burger was melted just the right way. The cajun fries came right out of the fryer, so it was hot, fresh and delicious. Had the right amount of seasoning as it wasn't too salty at all in my opinion. Grape soda was just grape soda, but it was great to wash everything down with it. The reason of 4 stars instead of 5 stars because the portion wise for both smashburger and cajun fries weren't that big to begin with for the $15 pricing. Aside from the variety of burger combos, there were also chicken sandwiches, hot chicken tenders, loaded fries, chicken wings, and sliders on the menu that I gotta go back for another time. What an awesome little spot to get food. Went twice this weekend. Chicken and wings were on point, moist - not too much breading, and the sauces match the description. Burgers are outstanding- great seasoning, buttery. It reminded me of Culver's but better flavor. If you're staying nearby, it's my top choice for reasonable food, with a variety for everyone. Thought that Burgermania's 40th street location was one of the worst handheld spots in Midtown. Tried again at this larger location on 39th, seeing the amazing reviews on another platform. It turns out that they give free drinks in exchange for reviews. It still is probably the worst burger spot in midtown. Staffing is anemic (potentially 1 and 1) and the front of the house is eerily similar to the 40th street location, with the lone cashier seeming to be a a bit strung thin or disinterested. The "premium" "smash burger" is just a basic thin greasy burger. Mediocre ingredients, not really an actual smashed burger. Nothing to write home about, outclassed by virtually all nearby competitors. Travels very poorly. Also, there is a junk 3.50% credit card fee. If they cleaned up the menu offerings and actually focused on burgers that tasted great, Burgermania would be somewhat competitive in the crowded lunchtime market. As it stands, it's a place fooling tourists with boosted reviews. read more

The new Burgermania location is amazing! I love the convenience of it -- it's so close to the train station and Bryant Park/NYPL. The employees were so kind and willing to answer any questions. The space was super clean and had arcade games that were free to play for paying customers. The bathroom was clean and accessible to any customer-- you just have to ask the employees for the key. Now for the food. Honestly I don't know if it was because it was cold or I was so hungry but this was such amazing food. I loved my double deluxe burger which literally I devoured in seconds. It was so good and the beef tender and juicy and I am obsessed. The fries were delicious and cooked just right -- crispy yet soft and well seasoned. I took sound bites of the holy chicken which although I'm not a fan of chicken burger, it was still delightful and a good burger. The only food I didn't really enjoy was the Nashville fries because the cheese kind of tasted weird and the smell really bothered my nose. The food is excellent no mayonnaise and no cheese The french fries were absolutely terrific. I asked for them to be well done and no salt 100% perfect they made the mail. Wonderful I got the root beer soda. It's known as the combo meal just wonderful. You can't get better than this, the gal who took my order Nazima remembered every word that I said and repeated it back to me and the order was taken, and it appeared in five minutes the case it comes in is just wonderful. It's hard. It fits the hamburger in there. There's no room for anything else, so it won't slide out not greasy at all well worth the money well worth coming here the place is spic and span. The only problem was the bathroom is upstairs and it's out of service ha ha ha. It seems to be the way restaurants are going nowadays if it's out of service, why don't they give you a cup and you go up do your business and put it down the sink or the toilet and wait packed well brought to the car had our tray tables there ate outside look for a garbage can which doesn't exist anymore had to go to do the rest of our business and finally found a garbage can by a park. Please come to this place 68 W. 39th St. just east of sixth Avenue on the south side of the street wonderful open until 11 PM.
