Unfortunately, we arrived at closing time, but the owner decided to let us in and service which was very generous. We had the spicy chicken, and it was very tasty and not too spicy in my opinion. For the sides, we had lentils, white rice, salad, potato salad.. I offered one fried fish combo meal and two sides of chicken (jerk chicken and fried chicken - protein only). The restaurant is a tiny hole in the wall but the cashier was friendly and it seems like a nice neighborhood place. They have three combos on UberEats; Chicken for $10, Beef for $10, and Fish Combo for $12; mind you, they don't have a beef option. Weird! The Entree choices are Fried Chicken, Tennessee Fried Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Baked Chicken, and Fried Fish. I chose Baked Chicken, and it was not even seasoned, cooked well with no taste. They don't have signage for the food, so you have to keep asking what each dish is. That's the only annoying part! Otherwise, the food looked great! I am so glad that Carmen's kitchen opened up! The humble location has amazing food. They get a super long line for lunch time so plan accordingly or order ahead with meal pal. I usually get their barbeque chicken (so delicious) with sweet potato, mac and cheese and string beans. Very affordable as well, can be compared to the cost getting chipotle. I have come here several times for MealPal for the chicken and potato salad and collard greens with rice and it is literally one of the best lunches I have had in the city.
