After a Cuban sandwich lunch we were in the mood for something sweet - and just a few doors down was Mayday ice cream. There was a line, but it moved and our wait wasn't very long. The one complication of the line is that it made it hard to see all the flavor choices with your view blocked. We ended up choosing Triple Vanilla(My wife) and Espresso Chip for me. The few tables inside were taken so we enjoyed our choices outside in the sun. This ice cream was excellent, not your run-of-the-mill typical ice cream. It's advertised as small batch ice cream made with premium ingredients and that's exactly how it tastes. As a sweet tooth satisfier it definitely hit the spot!

If you know me, you know, I'm a dessert after a meal type of girl. Mayday Ice Cream is a great go to after chowing down on DJ's clam shack. Because I'm so familiar with this ice cream spot I decided to go with my familiar flavor, which was the brown butter chocolate chip. Tim, I believe his name was, he was so helpful and friendly, and letting me know that they were getting ready to launch their spring flavors soon. We had a great conversation while I picked out my ice cream flavor. I forgot my loyalty card, but he was so sweet and gave me a new one and stamped it for my visit. I cannot rave enough of how much I enjoy coming to this ice cream shop, especially when it's less than two minutes from where I just had an amazing lunch. Mayday created the perfect vibes to end an amazing day and it was awesome because it was sunny and 75 so it felt right just walking around and enjoying my scoop!

This is an excellent location for dairy free ice cream. We stopped by on the evening of one of our days in Saint Augustine and ordered a two scooper. I was anticipating the scoops would not be generous, but they were so one would've been enough for us. Friendly associates, clean and well-stocked, and great for patrons who have dietary sensitivities.

This gem of a place is the go-to spot for ice cream if you're paroozing around town. Super friendly service, clean, and they have a great selection of flavors. So glad we stumbled upon them, as there are a lot of ice cream competitors. Their cones are also delicious! Never knew a pretzel cone existed but now I can say I've had one. We'll be back for another scoop before we leave.

Came in for my FREE pilot cup for my birthday!! Datil dark is the most delicious and unique flavor only available in the winter months. A lush chocolate with hot datil peppers. So good

We found the coolest ice cream shop in the area. The day was so hot and all we could think of was to cool our afternoon off and we were able to do it! Very friendly and patient staff. This ice cream shop had a great variety of flavors, and a great atmosphere. We had great ice creams a lovely experience!

We found Cookie Crush while walking around downtown and this place was awesome! The decor was so cute it felt like you were at grandmas and the cookies were even better! Service wasn't anything to brag about she didn't speak much, nonetheless the dessert was tasty!

So many flavors to choose from! My friends and I stopped here when we were walking around the little town. It did not disappoint. Staff made greats recs and let us try a few flavors to decide.

Mayday is always a stop when we are I town. Every flavor is wonderful and we ended getting an ice cream flight. Palmer was helping up and was very helpful and sweet. We got a mix of our favorites and some new flavors! I would definitely recommend stopping here on your next trip to St Augustine.

Best ice cream on St Geoege Street! Skip the chains and head to this locally made spot. We LOVED all our flavors: Blueberry Toast Crunch Caramel Apple Pie Aviator (Nutella, hazelnuts, biscoff) The Parent Trap (peanut butter Oreo) Blueberry and apple pie were delightful and perfect, aviator and parent trap were very rich

Stopped here for something sweet after spending the afternoon on St. Augustine Beach with my…read morefamily. This was my first visit to Cone Heads, and I had a very enjoyable experience! Cone Heads is located right on A1A Beach Blvd, just a block off of the beach. It is in a standalone building that is inviting with both colorful signage and plenty of outdoor seating. They also have a drive-thru and a private parking lot. When we visited on a Tuesday in July around 5:30 PM, we had no issue getting a parking spot. There were some other customers enjoying some ice cream, but there was relatively no line when we entered the store. The ordering happens inside, and you walk right into the ice cream cabinets and counter. All of the flavors are displayed and can be seen from the order line. Additionally inside, there are some tables to sit and eat at, along with a restroom. They sell a variety of merchandise along with their food and dessert selection. I liked seeing the community cork-board, where there were a variety of different posters and advertisements for events and services around the area. The menu consisted of traditional ice cream items one would expect - cups, cones, sundaes, banana splits, milkshakes, and more. They also had a Seasonal Special section on the menu, which I assume changes somewhat frequently. This trip, that item was a Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. There are some sundae combinations on the menu, but you can customize your own if you choose. There is hard ice cream, soft serve, and also some hot food options - hot dogs, sausages, and tamales, primarily. For drinks, they had canned soda, bottled, water, and some coffee options. As far as to-go, they had pints and quarts available for the ice cream, along with a freezer full of pre-packaged pints, quarts, and ice cream sandwiches for a grab and go situation. Having never been here before, our group needed some time to look at the menu and flavors before ordering. There were around 30 different flavors of hard ice cream, which included No Sugar Added and Dairy Free varieties, in addition to traditional full dairy varieties. I thought that the flavor selection was a healthy mix of traditional favorites and unique offerings. The staff working were friendly and helpful with answering all of our questions about the flavors. I even got to try a couple samples before making my decision. After much debate, I landed on trying the Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. This was made to order, and I got to choose the ice cream for the filling. I opted for the Kahula Chip for a coffee and donut flavor combination. I did enjoy this treat! The donut was fresh (and from a local spot), and the ice cream complimented it nicely. I thought the price was also fair for the size and specialty of the dessert, at $5.50 before any tax. My dog was waiting patiently in the car, so we ordered him a Doggie Ice Cream. It was a small boat of vanilla soft serve with peanut butter sauce and a Milk Bone. For my magnet collection, I also purchased one of their logo to take home with me. I personally did not pay the bill, but I thought the pricing here was fair and in line with any other similar type of shop. They took both cash and card. This shop is exactly what you would want out of an ice cream shop on the beach - fun, colorful, and local. They incorporate various other local businesses into their products. The theme of the establishment is appropriate for being a block away from the ocean, and there is a lot of color and fun decor to look at around the building. The staff were all pleasant, the product is tasty, and the price is right. Really enjoyed discovering Cone Heads on this trip, and will make sure to stop by again during my future trips to St. Augustine!

One would think there's not much you can do with a grilled cheese sandwich, but the Grilled Cheese Gallery proves that assumption wrong. There are 13 amazing and creative choices of grilled cheese here. Don't like grilled cheese? They also serve salads, poutine, mac & cheese grilled sandwiches, ice cream and other desserts. This is Comfort Food headquarters! There were actually so many choices it was hard to choose. I chose A Night in Amsterdam: Gouda, Gruyere, Swiss, Cheddar, on Artisan White. My wife had The Queen Brie: House cured bacon, French Brie, Raspberry Puree, Balsamic on Sourdough. My Amsterdam was quite a creation: three slices balanced on a pedestal with cheese trailing down more than a foot. It was delicious! My wife lauded her Queen Brie as well. We wish we had more time in Saint Augustine as this place is definitely worth a second visit.

We ordered: the Amsterdam, the Artist, the Queen Brie, and the Classic (2 sandwiches). Three of us upgraded to a small cup of tomato soup (each order comes with a mini cup for dipping). I was the lucky person who ordered the Amsterdam, which, much to our surprise and delight, was served on a hook with melted cheese stretching down to the tray it was served on. Everyone had to take a photo of my sandwich! It contained a variety of cheeses, so while the taste was fairly classic, it was a bit more nuanced than the Classic sandwich, which only had cheddar cheese. Everyone else thought their sandwiches were delicious too. And we all loved the homemade tomato soup! I tend to be a bigger fan of creamy tomato soups, but this one was rich with umami flavor and had a bit of a kick. While this is a counter-service restaurant that's pretty much no-frills, the employees were friendly and helpful. One of them refilled our water cups at the table, even though the pitcher she had was leaking, and I didn't get the sense that they normally did that. Sadly, they don't sell soft serve ice cream any more, but there are so many ice cream shops in this part of St. Augustine that you can easily walk somewhere else for dessert (which we did). The place wasn't crowded on a Friday evening and had lots of menu choices, so if you like grilled cheese sandwiches, whether creative or simple, be sure to stop by the Grilled Cheese Gallery on your visit to St. Augustine!

They have more flavors than I can even remember--truly something for everyone, including sugar-free and dairy-free options. The "single scoop" here is absolutely massive; at most other places, it would be considered a large. It is incredibly well-priced (under $6!), so you really get your money's worth. I got the Dairy-Free Coffee Almond Fudge, and it was fantastic! While I wish they had a few more dairy-free flavors to match their massive traditional menu, I love that they don't upcharge for the dairy-free options. That is a huge win in my book. The vibe is exactly what you'd want from a local mom-and-pop shop: kitschy, eclectic, and covered in cows. They even have rocking chairs on the front porch to relax in. The crew is always friendly and helpful, too. Pro-tip: This place is popular for a reason! If you're visiting on a weekend, be prepared to wait a bit. Trust me, though--it is so very worth it.
