Very quick and courteous service. The noodles were tasty and so was the homemade dumplings. The owner is so sweet. We did take out and the minute we pulled up and before we could grab our phone to call she was coming out the door. We're looking forward to trying the other dishes here. If you like spicy you can ask them to make it extra spicy for you. First time here, just started a new gig nearby. Place is take out only at the moment. Neat little mom and pop spot, about 10-15 minute wait. Now onto the food. Got chicken pad thai, level 6 spice. Heat was on point, definitely impressed there; however, pad thai needs to be salty, sweet and sour at the same time. The notes were either bland or sour. Not good on the flavoring, and pad thai shouldn't have bell peppers and celery, period. I do not recommend the pad thai at all. Thai ice tea is over-watered and bland. Don't recommend it at all. Potstickers were great! Excellent crisp at the bottom, nice and soft on top. The filling was really good, just the right amount of seasoning but relies on the dipping sauce (chinese vinegar/soy based) for the umami/saltiness. This is exactly how chinese dumplings should be! I'll give this place another try but the first trip was definitely a big disappointment. read more

I was thoroughly impressed with the food quality and warm service at this restaurant. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife crew. The wife runs the register and takes care of drink orders and the husband (Max) is the chef. We stumbled upon this place by chance on our way back from Altitude Trampoline and Market Basket in Billerica which are in the same shopping complex. Since all the food is made to order, they had no problem accommodating our request for vegan-friendly food choices. Since they are not just reheating pre-cooked food, it does take a little bit to make everything. We went with a Pho Curry, Veggie/Tofu Wheat Noodle Combo and another noodle dish with tofu and vegetables. The flavor was spectacular and all of the food was cooked to perfection and nothing was soaked in grease like you often find at Chinese/Thai/Asian restaurants. Portion sizes were really good and the food was reasonably priced. They do not use MSG and do not deep fry anything. If this restaurant was closer to our house we would probably be here at least once or twice a week, but even with a 25 minute drive, the food was good enough that we will definitely return. This is not a fancy restaurant, you order at the register and they bring it to you, but the quality is superb and if your food comes out anything like ours did, you will not be disappointed. They also have a selection of teas, coffees, bubbles teas and fountain drinks as well. Definitely will be returning. I've driven by a million times and never tried. The yelp reviews made me want to try and in my neighborhood page good reviews about safety with their take out during COVID. woman was extremely friendly and accommodating over the phone and in person. They focus on playing it safe during this time. Curbside delivery, separate gloves for food and for money, masks, etc. the food is competitively priced and very good quality. The potstickers were delicious and came with a balsamic sauce on the side. Ramen with chicken very big serving size, very flavorful. Edamame big serving size too, fresh, lightly salted. The bao's were very filling. I got 2 orders. Each order has 2 bao of the same kind. One order with beef and one with pork. Both tasty, surprisingly I liked the beef better. Stop! Just stop immediately. This is a five star place on yelp? I must have ordered the wrong thing. Went here with my cousin for some Chinese food and her wonton noodles seemed okay. I made the tragic mistake of getting my favorite, beef rolls. These beef rolls were skinner than a $1 sausage burrito from McDonalds. They were barely bigger than a churro! The sauce was wrong. The meat was not the Chinese beef slices but ROAST BEEF! Like from a deli. WTF???? This finger roll was $8. Cut into 4 small pieces of awful sauced, roast beef mess. In addition, there were gnats EVERYWHERE. I must've killed 2 or 3 and I'm not good at gnat hunting. They constantly circled in front of your eyes and on and around the food everywhere. The best part of Max Noodles might have to be they let you bring in alcohol and there's a liquor store in that plaza. Website says they close at 8:30 but the place was empty at 7 and they kicked us out at 8:15 to close. Shrugs, it was better to sit in the car. read more

Max Noodles is one of my absolute favorite restaurants to visit. They only do takeout, but the service is fantastic. I love going here both for the food and for the people who work there. They couldn't be friendlier. As for the food--I love their ramen and my husband is a big fan of their pho. We also recommend the dumplings. Underrated Gem This was one of the most heartwarming and welcoming establishments I have ever been in. The owner is so nice and friendly, I talked with her the entire time I was waiting for my noodles. She's a total sweetheart and if you come here definitely strike up a conversation with her you will not regret it. This place has really good family run vibes and the food shows. The bang for your buck at this place is real, the noodles are really fairly priced given it's basically on par with hibachi quality and freshness. They also hook you up with a pretty gracious portion size so I had leftovers for another meal. Really well run establishment, definitely a local business you should go and support. 3.5/5 I stopped in here a few times to eat in and get take out. I've gotten a few of their noodle soups and bowls and their beef scallion pancake. The food has tasted pretty good... It does taste more healthy than if you go get the same pho or noodles in other restaurants. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the individual. This place serves dishes from Central Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean cuisine and the food that is not Chinese does not taste very authentic if that's what you're looking for, but that does not mean it does not taste good. Lastly, this is not a good place to eat if you are in a time crunch. They appear to make everything to order and that means there can be a long wait. I stopped by here this past Thursday evening on my own for dinner. Since it had gotten cold out I was looking for a place for either ramen or pho to have a nice meal and warm up. Max Noodles had both options and so I headed over there to try it out. It is located in a strip mall and I was happy to see a no MSG sign on the door. This is the type of place where you walk up and place your order and then grab it from the pickup window. The menus were all hand written on chalkboard and near the ordering station. For seating the restaurant had a number of tables, both high top and regular. It was decorated nicely enough with some simple art and other pictures that were drawn on chalkboards. For dinner on this evening I decided to order the max ramen with chicken. The older gentlemen that was behind the counter taking my order seemed genuinely nice which I liked. There was a 55 cent charge to use my credit card here but it was clearly marked before I paid. Within 10 minutes of ordering my bowl came out to me and looked pretty good and big. The one thing I could notice right away was that it didn't look like your traditional ramen soup. As a matter of a fact it looked like chicken noddle with a few extra vegetables (mushroom, broccoli, onion, carrot , bean sprouts and green onion). It tasted like chicken noodle soup too which wasn't a bad thing except for the fact that I was looking for something a little more exotic. What I could appreciate was that the serving size was absolutely humongous with a large amount of it being chicken and noodles. After I made it about half way through my dish I noticed they had some chili oil (or something similar) and grabbed some. It gave my broth that little extra pop I was looking for and I really enjoyed it more the rest of the time. The bottom line for me is that I might head back here again in the future. On portion size and value alone, it is well worth it and I think it's the type of place my wife would absolutely love. However if you are looking for a more exotic ramen then this probably isn't your place. read more

The woman at the register screwed up my order twice. I brought the first wrong meal back to the kitchen (I ordered Pho Curry w/2 dumplings and was brought an order of 12 dumplings) and was then brought another wrong meal (Max Pho with Chicken AND 2 Dumplings). Visited this place several time and was never really blown away by any of the meals .The Thai ice tea tastes of Ice and water would not recommend. Every dish is a slight variant of its true self severed with just a little blandness. You feel bad not liking the meal due to the mom and pop nature of the restaurant, but that is just the sad truth. Came during lunch and was told that most of the menu is not available due to the restaurant having several patrons, the down fall to being a two person operation. I've been looking forward to Max Noodles opening since my husband took over a store in the same plaza in November. They have finally opened their doors, and the place is beautiful! My Husband, Son and I tried three different dishes. The Max Ramen, the potstickers and the Max Bao. The service was great, they checked up on us while we were eating, and they had all the fixings you would need to alter the food to your individual taste. All the food was wonderful. I could see some people thinking the Ramen had something to be desired, but they are probably comparing it to junk. The broth was very light, the veggies very fresh and the noodles had a slight bite but weren't chewy. The Potstickers had been fried to perfection, and the Bao was light, airy, sweet and savory! So, it's probably a 2 but I'm feeling generous. I really want to like this restaurant. It's family run and seems like a welcome addition. It's their first week so I will give it some time and give them another try. First, they've hired a young staff. This is fine but they all appeared to be working today and none of them appeared to understand their roles. They kept bouncing from station to station trying to be helpful but instead just stepping on each other's toes. The young man who rang me up took my cash and then proceeded to grab my noodles from the fridge and use the same hands he handled money (and who knows what else) with to dump the noodles into the water. Boiling water kills germs anyways, right???? They have a very limited menu consisting of only 9 items. With this limited a menu, I was hoping that my meal would fall into the less is better philosophy. I ordered the Max Ramen which the owner prepared. Sadly, it lacked flavor. The broth was just very bland. The vegetables on the other hand were fresh, crisp and quite tasty. The noodles themselves were fine but again lacked flavor. I ended up having to use siracha and soy to make it more edible but the broth wasn't fixable. The service was good they checked on me while I was eating and quickly cleared my half finished bowl. Like I said, it's only their first week and I expect they'll work out the kinks soon enough. I'll be back. I'll try something else and who knows, maybe I'll be blown away. read more

Unique. Fresh. Local. Healthy. Full of umami. I ordered the bao buns, one chicken and one beef and they were unexpected, delectable but simple in the best way. I ordered a small chicken Pho and unlike its Vietnamese namesake this was not served with raw meat, cilantro or typical accompaniments but I didn't miss it. It was its own and I enjoyed it. Max makes a homemade hot chili sauce that melted my face with fire and I loved it on my pho. I ordered a peach bubble tea and drank it while I waited. Max makes everything in house and it's special. The restaurant is very clean. The prices were great. The food is scrumptious. I am very surprised that it wasn't packed with customers but it picked up as it got later. The owners of the restaurant are incredibly nice and the woman has even offered to make me bubble tea as I walk to work, which just a few stores over. Receiving your order may require a little bit of a wait (not recommended if you are in a rush, but you can call ahead and order for pick-up, which I have done while working), they make every dish from scratch. Their ingredients are locally sourced, which I find adds to the quality of the food. The portions are also noteworthy; I have never been able to finish a dish all in one sitting.
