If I could put 0 star, I would absolutely! This place is the most dirtiest and unprofessional nail salon I have ever been to. No point in making appointments here because they will make you wait and follow up with the worst customer service. I showed the "nail tech" what I wanted and she proceeded with my nails and said "no problem I can do that." All her tools were dirty, she was dropping everything on the floor, and not to mention my acrylics were uneven and crooked- My nails were not the shape I wanted!! When it came time for the design, she tried 20 times then asked the owners help who also tried 20 times and was making me very uncomfortable. He was yelling at me telling me to put my hand in the gel machine, then he gave up and said "sorry I can't do it we're too busy sorry, I can't do your nails, you're not my customer," I was just standing awkwardly in the middle of the salon while they continued on other customers. They wanted me to pay for this ? How ridiculous. Disgusting place, don't even think about coming here. Nail Spa 2 is 5 minutes away and they took very good care of me! So satisfied with Ray!! This nail place is spectacular!! I stumbled upon it last week for a quick toe polish change, and I'm so glad that I did! Louie did my polish change and did a fantastic job. It has been 10 days so far and no chipping in sight. I returned today for a gel polish mani. He did a fabulous job! Cuticles were cut well and no bleeding, thank goodness! I brought my girlfriend with me and she had an equally pleasing experience. Extra plus, the salon was very clean and all the stylists were very kind and sweet! Love this place. The nail tech Andrew here absolutely sucks! I used to come here regularly and only see Tony who always did an exceptional job - this establishment does not deserve Tony. I wasn't able to schedule with him unfortunately because I had to drop in on a short time frame this past Monday before going out of town. The nail salon is quite frankly disgusting; nothing gets cleaned after each client. I specifically asked Andrew if he is able to do ombré French dip -- since this seems to be a highly complex skill that some techs will (and always should) admit they cannot do -- and he told me yes. It is now Thursday (3 days after the manicure on Monday at 6pm) and the tops of the dip look terrible. The "ombré" look is not ombré at all and completely shows the powder dots scattered across the nail. I brought this up to Helen and she just tried to tell me that's how ombré is and "it looks natural like that". I DONT THINK SO. I feel totally scammed after spending $86 here and I hate my nails!!! Aside from a horrible job, Andrew kept wanting to talk politics and religion during the entire manicure. I appreciate when new techs converse with me, however, this one-way "conversation" was totally pushy, borderline rude. He also kept nicking my skin with the electric file to the point that three nails were bleeding, and he offered no apology. Pure trash. Unprofessional. Nasty. read more

Not disorganized but for some weird reason the beds had these loud printed towels that make me think of a Walmart clearance sale. Anyway, I lay down and the nail tech said I had great eyebrow shape - YEAH! Then chatted while she waxed and arched my brows perfectly. My whole face looked brighter once she was complete. I would not recommend this place. I just moved to the area and I got dip powder for my nails. Ive had dip powder for over a year from other salons. I got my nails done, the powder was not even touching the cuticle and within 3 days the dip already grew out looking like already 3 weeks old. No primer was applied and nails were not cleaned basically just applied product. UV light is not required for Dip powder and used UV curling lamp. Also the person was on their phone texting back and forth while doing my nails which is a hygiene issue. They did install plexi glass between stalls for COVID19 protection. Prices are way above average. My pedicure was good so that's why I'm giving any stars at all. read more

This nail salon was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. It was not very busy on Wednesday mid-day and I was able to walk in for an appointment. I got a mani/pedi and was impressed with the attention to detail and care of the nail technician. While the service was lovely, I am not sure if they properly sanitize their equipment. They sprayed the tools with what looked like a diluted alcohol mixture and had barbicide notices posted. I did not see any tools cleaned with the barbicide while I was present. In most salons, I have visited they have an autoclave/ heating system to sterilize the tools. For this reason, the business received 3 stars. read more

I randomly chose this nail salon because it was right by me at the time & I'm glad I went in too. I brought along my 3 year old daughter, she loves getting her nails done. I got a fill in and polish change then my daughter got polish & a design. I went first while my daughter played on my phone (they have free WiFi), then when I was finished the nail tech moved my things for me to the drying station. Then helped my daughter into the chair, helped prop the phone up then painted her nails. Then the nail tech talked to her about the show she was watching so her nails could dry. Our service was on $35 too, very affordable. You get a punch card too, when you come so many times you receive $5 off your next service. I will be returning. read more

It has been a week since I got my new set here and they are holding up beautifully. My experience at the salon was very nice. The store is conveniently located in the front section of the Publix center at the corner of Beach and Kernan. I went in during a weekday afternoon (lunch time) and was taken right away. The technician was really sweet and took care to actually make sure I did the healthiest option for my nails so I could repair/strengthen them. I know some places are an assembly line to get people in and out but they took some time to explain a new option. I had never done the dipping process but I am a believer, it is stronger the gel and less dense/heavy the acrylic, personally like this option a lot. It took maybe 40 minutes at the most, not rushed at all but not dragged out. I also saw another customer getting a gel pedicure so I'm excited they have that as well. Also, I was presently surprised at the price because it was less then I thought but I got more than I expected. It's a medium size shop, clean, bright and comfortable. read more

Visited Matrix on Sunday, June 12, 2022. I was the only customer In the shop the whole time I was there. 3 employees present. Tina was my mail technician. I requested a French pedicure. Tina asked me 2 times if I wanted "gel." Two times I said "no." I chose a "classic" pedicure for $25 plus $5 extra for French polish. I went to pay. I signed the credit card receipt & added tip based on $30. Then I noticed the charge was for $47-not $30. Here we go--a bait & switch. i said "this is wrong." Tina said I'd said "yes" to "gel." "No." "Void" the transaction." No one knew how to void a transaction! Tina said she would remove the "gel" polish & do a regular French polish AND refund me the $17 in cash for the overcharge for "gel" polish. I did receive the $17 cash refund. Tina applied the white French polish & one clear polish on top. That's an abbreviated pedicure at best. Normally with gel polish, a piece of cotton with nail polish remover is place on each nail & each is wrapped in foil for a few minutes to loosen the gel. It's more difficult to remove than normal polish. This step was not done. Tina removed "gel" with a piece of cotton & polish remover. I do not believe "gel" polish was used initially. "Gel polish" does not come off easily. Now I have checked with my credit card company, & Matrix also added the tip I had put on the original receipt for the erroneous $47 charge, $6 for a total of $53. Deceitful & dishonorable & unprofessional business. Not run like Helen ran her professional shop. Helen would be mortified! I still plan to recoup my $6 tip. Tina did not deserve a tip. read more
