I so look forward to pampering myself at Matrix Nail Salon. Everyone there is kind and friendly and very efficient at doing nails. I regularly see Tony and often Tina does my nails as well. Matrix Nails - Beautiful full acrylic nail set - Nail Salons Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

The wife and I decided to get some pampering time and get a pedicure at Matrix Nails. First time there as we were close by. They did good work on our feet. Mine especially as they are like the feet of a hobbit. Great foot and calf massage. read more

Pretty good and cheap. I came in for a set removal, they were very careful. My nails are in a little bit of pain, but that's probably because I had the previous set on for a while. read more

Been coming here for about a year and I love this place. The staff is friendly, clean, and I always love my nails. Tina and Tony are great!

I asked if he could start on my nails while I'm getting my toes done. "No not at the same time, when every salon I've been to always do the at the same time when they aren't busy. I had a date ands was going to be late if I waited to get my nails done after my toes. Like are you serious? Just being mean for no reason I was the only person in there for 1 hour and 20 mins. But the older lady that did my feet did a beautiful job. Thank you to her. read more

Awesome nail salon. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. They always do a great job and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. :)

I visited Matrix after going to several other nail salons, and had seen the beautiful designs and work on my coworkers nails and thought, wow! Very impressive and long lasting nails.I booked an appointment with Vivi, and showed her the inspiration, and she did a wonderful job and I will be back again for Vivi! I've gotten numerous compliments on my nails and I have given a lot of recommendations to go here! read more

If I could put 0 star, I would absolutely! This place is the most dirtiest and unprofessional nail salon I have ever been to. No point in making appointments here because they will make you wait and follow up with the worst customer service. I showed the "nail tech" what I wanted and she proceeded with my nails and said "no problem I can do that." All her tools were dirty, she was dropping everything on the floor, and not to mention my acrylics were uneven and crooked- My nails were not the shape I wanted!! When it came time for the design, she tried 20 times then asked the owners help who also tried 20 times and was making me very uncomfortable. He was yelling at me telling me to put my hand in the gel machine, then he gave up and said "sorry I can't do it we're too busy sorry, I can't do your nails, you're not my customer," I was just standing awkwardly in the middle of the salon while they continued on other customers. They wanted me to pay for this ? How ridiculous. Disgusting place, don't even think about coming here. Nail Spa 2 is 5 minutes away and they took very good care of me! So satisfied with Ray!! Clean and very professional! Deff recommend! read more

The tools seemed reused and not clean at all, actually grossed me out. The workers are not very nice and were outwardly discussing who HAD to do the one nail design i had. Hated on my natural nails multiple times saying they were too short, which i have not had a problem with elsewhere. Will definitely avoid in the future. Price was good, but the nails themselves weren't very good read more

We popped in because we had some time to pass. Two pedis. Had a great experience!! Tony did my feet. Great service. Reasonable price.

This nail place is spectacular!! I stumbled upon it last week for a quick toe polish change, and I'm so glad that I did! Louie did my polish change and did a fantastic job. It has been 10 days so far and no chipping in sight. I returned today for a gel polish mani. He did a fabulous job! Cuticles were cut well and no bleeding, thank goodness! I brought my girlfriend with me and she had an equally pleasing experience. Extra plus, the salon was very clean and all the stylists were very kind and sweet! Love this place. Thank you, Louie and Helen! read more

The nail tech Andrew here absolutely sucks! I used to come here regularly and only see Tony who always did an exceptional job - this establishment does not deserve Tony. I wasn't able to schedule with him unfortunately because I had to drop in on a short time frame this past Monday before going out of town. The nail salon is quite frankly disgusting; nothing gets cleaned after each client. I specifically asked Andrew if he is able to do ombré French dip -- since this seems to be a highly complex skill that some techs will (and always should) admit they cannot do -- and he told me yes. It is now Thursday (3 days after the manicure on Monday at 6pm) and the tops of the dip look terrible. The "ombré" look is not ombré at all and completely shows the powder dots scattered across the nail. I brought this up to Helen and she just tried to tell me that's how ombré is and "it looks natural like that". I DONT THINK SO. I feel totally scammed after spending $86 here and I hate my nails!!! Aside from a horrible job, Andrew kept wanting to talk politics and religion during the entire manicure. I appreciate when new techs converse with me, however, this one-way "conversation" was totally pushy, borderline rude. He also kept nicking my skin with the electric file to the point that three nails were bleeding, and he offered no apology. Pure trash. Unprofessional. Nasty. read more

Long busy day and I just wanted to to get home. Peeped myself in the mirror and my eyebrows were horrible so I did a quick turn and headed in. They seemed pretty busy, but I was quickly lead to a back room. Room was... it was disorganized. Not disorganized but for some weird reason the beds had these loud printed towels that make me think of a Walmart clearance sale. Anyway, I lay down and the nail tech said I had great eyebrow shape - YEAH! Then chatted while she waxed and arched my brows perfectly. My whole face looked brighter once she was complete. (Paid $6 + tip and my day felt happier.) Great work and great service. read more

Only go to LOUIE. my gf has been to him for months. She's had acrylics for years and only goes to the best. My other girlfriend went to a random person at matrix and got a bad paint job. I went to LOUIE. He was quick, conversational, and did an amazing job. Tried nail.com before and Hated My full set. Same prices as anywhere else- $40 for a full set. But LOUIE does a beautiful, fast job. I've already gotten compliments on my nails. They still look great weeks later. Will continues to visit LOUIE read more

My gift certificate was only 12 days past expiration. I'm out $50 and will not go back.

As salons go, Matrix is average. Just a regular strip mall nail shop, but they get the job done for a good price. Helen is usually up front and she's the sweetest! She did my nails for a while. But Loi, that is my mf GUY! He always gets my shape right, and I'm really picky about it. He's quick and I always just text him about my appointments. I will actually let my nails grow out or deal with a broken one until I can see him in emergencies, I'm that loyal! I need to go through all my snaps and upload some more pics because he has been doing my nails at least once a month for like 3 years! read more

Pretty dirty. Came in to get one nail fixed & she filed it until I bled.. she then used the glue to make it the bleeding stop & then kept the glue that she had just been touching to the tip of my finger. The picture says it all. Cannot speak on nails but this is the eyebrow wax they got from there and, yes that is blood. Not just a small skin tear, 2 solid lines of skin ripped to the point of drawing blood, scabbing, and now potentially scarring. Be careful. read more

I would not recommend this place. I just moved to the area and I got dip powder for my nails. Ive had dip powder for over a year from other salons. I got my nails done, the powder was not even touching the cuticle and within 3 days the dip already grew out looking like already 3 weeks old. No primer was applied and nails were not cleaned basically just applied product. UV light is not required for Dip powder and used UV curling lamp. Also the person was on their phone texting back and forth while doing my nails which is a hygiene issue. They did install plexi glass between stalls for COVID19 protection. Prices are way above average. My pedicure was good so that's why I'm giving any stars at all. read more

This nail salon was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. It was not very busy on Wednesday mid-day and I was able to walk in for an appointment. I got a mani/pedi and was impressed with the attention to detail and care of the nail technician. While the service was lovely, I am not sure if they properly sanitize their equipment. They sprayed the tools with what looked like a diluted alcohol mixture and had barbicide notices posted. I did not see any tools cleaned with the barbicide while I was present. In most salons, I have visited they have an autoclave/ heating system to sterilize the tools. For this reason, the business received 3 stars. read more

I randomly chose this nail salon because it was right by me at the time & I'm glad I went in too. I brought along my 3 year old daughter, she loves getting her nails done. I got a fill in and polish change then my daughter got polish & a design. I went first while my daughter played on my phone (they have free WiFi), then when I was finished the nail tech moved my things for me to the drying station. Then helped my daughter into the chair, helped prop the phone up then painted her nails. Then the nail tech talked to her about the show she was watching so her nails could dry. Our service was on $35 too, very affordable. You get a punch card too, when you come so many times you receive $5 off your next service. I will be returning. read more

Tony is the absolute BEST! His attention to detail is impeccable. He gives the best pedicures. My favorite in town!!

It has been a week since I got my new set here and they are holding up beautifully. My experience at the salon was very nice. The store is conveniently located in the front section of the Publix center at the corner of Beach and Kernan. I went in during a weekday afternoon (lunch time) and was taken right away. The technician was really sweet and took care to actually make sure I did the healthiest option for my nails so I could repair/strengthen them. I know some places are an assembly line to get people in and out but they took some time to explain a new option. I had never done the dipping process but I am a believer, it is stronger the gel and less dense/heavy the acrylic, personally like this option a lot. It took maybe 40 minutes at the most, not rushed at all but not dragged out. I also saw another customer getting a gel pedicure so I'm excited they have that as well. Also, I was presently surprised at the price because it was less then I thought but I got more than I expected. It's a medium size shop, clean, bright and comfortable. read more

I have been getting gel manis here for a few months but last time I went I decided to try the dipping powder. I am SO glad I did!! These are my nails after 18 days .... seriously!!!! Obviously they've grown out a bit but that's to be expected. There has been no chipping and the process was so fun and easy! I'm going to go in today to change the color but that's only because I want a new color for Thanksgiving tomorrow :) highly recommend! Visited Matrix on Sunday, June 12, 2022. I was the only customer In the shop the whole time I was there. 3 employees present. Tina was my mail technician. I requested a French pedicure. Tina asked me 2 times if I wanted "gel." Two times I said "no." I chose a "classic" pedicure for $25 plus $5 extra for French polish. I went to pay. I signed the credit card receipt & added tip based on $30. Then I noticed the charge was for $47-not $30. Here we go--a bait & switch. i said "this is wrong." Tina said I'd said "yes" to "gel." "No." "Void" the transaction." No one knew how to void a transaction! Tina said she would remove the "gel" polish & do a regular French polish AND refund me the $17 in cash for the overcharge for "gel" polish. I did receive the $17 cash refund. Tina applied the white French polish & one clear polish on top. That's an abbreviated pedicure at best. Normally with gel polish, a piece of cotton with nail polish remover is place on each nail & each is wrapped in foil for a few minutes to loosen the gel. It's more difficult to remove than normal polish. This step was not done. Tina removed "gel" with a piece of cotton & polish remover. I do not believe "gel" polish was used initially. "Gel polish" does not come off easily. Now I have checked with my credit card company, & Matrix also added the tip I had put on the original receipt for the erroneous $47 charge, $6 for a total of $53. Deceitful & dishonorable & unprofessional business. Not run like Helen ran her professional shop. Helen would be mortified! I still plan to recoup my $6 tip. Tina did not deserve a tip. read more
