However, once my nails were started, I noticed they were doing gel instead. I am so disappointed by this work! I clearly asked multiple times if they knew how to do ombré sns and provided pictures. I was told yes. As the male tech started, he was clearly not doing a traditional ombré process. When I asked him, he said he was doing something different and then proceeded to do this design and it looks like CRAP!!!!! Bullshit nails!!! Still charged me an extra $15 for art work. The two stars are not a reflection of the people who work there, who are very nice and sweet. my first issue is the tubs that you do the pedicure in were kind of dirty. My husband left his tub (after his pedi) and they barely cleaned it out and put someone else in it. I do think they need to be sanitized more or use the plastic wrapping around it. my second issue was we got a $40 deluxe pedicure which was good but they didn't really clean our feet well. Usually they scrub it down a lot. I am ticklish and I notified them of that so they just did not clean the area I was ticklish at which is not what I wanted them to do. The pedicure was fast, i've had longer pedicures for less money. At the very least, they should be scrubbing and cleaning our feet better. barely any massage. I also got a gel manicure, and, I did notify the technician that it was painful a little bit near my cuticles, but they kept doing it anyway and it nicked my cuticles, and there was a very tiny bleed. I was not exactly happy about that. They also did not do a great job with my cuticles and other places. I asked them for a gel nail light that did not have UV, and it was very hard to find, they have a lot of old pieces there. The shop itself is older looking. It's not dirty and they have a lot of customers. I could tell that they were loyal customers that we're coming in. Overall, being my first time there, it's not a place I would come back to again for the reasons listed above. two deluxe pedicures, one gel manicure and one regular manicure ran us about $110-$115... not including the tip. there's free parking in the front and it's in a parking lot. It's located in a great place near lots of shopping. Again, everyone is super nice but I expected a lot more and unfortunately this place did not meet my expectations. read more

Ruby's was an incredible salon with impeccable service. Amy did my nails and she was so sweet, incredibly funny, and did a wonderful job with my design!! Honestly, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, but she helped me pick something out and was very patient with me and provided helpful suggestions!! I had other acrylic nails on and they were very considerate about my pain tolerance while taking them off. I was there about an hour and a half and enjoyed every minute. While eating sushi at Fancy Sushi next door, I spotted "reflexology" at Ruby Nail Spa which is next door. Since my wife was out of town, the girls and I sauntered into to inquire about services. I opted for a Pedicure and 15 minutes of Reflexology, while each of the girls got Pedicures and polish changes. Now services were good, but from a guys perspective we always want to know about THE CHAIR. Well, the massage chairs were pretty standard with timed increments of 10, 20 and 30 minutes. Not anything particularly wonderful, but certainly up to normal standards. The list of different spa type services impressive. They have the basics that you would expect from any salon but it seems they offer some facial/upgraded services in the back. Love the hours, it's great that they are open late. Offering complimentary wine, and I mean really offering it---like you walk in and it's not a matter of "if", but rather a matter of "Wine or Water?" I could see the little mini-fridge with all the water and wine one could want, but was too shy to ask so I just kept quiet. Would've been nice though.Also, spending the extra buck for disposable liners would give clients peace of mind, especially on busy days/nights. Came here on a whim one afternoon after dinner. I called first to ensure they has an opening and boom I was in like flin. This location is in Atlantic Beach and parking could be sparse but not on this particular night. I walked in and I was immediately greeted by Jenny who was going to be doing my nails. She asked me to choose a color which are all painted on acrylic fake nails and placed like flowers sticking out of a pot which makes them pretty easy to spot. I went with something neutral and we got started. Jenny speaks good English so conversation was easy. She was very sweet and you can tell she loves what she does. My shellac manicure didn't take too long and their was a hand massage at the end. (always a perk!) Past experiences are normally good here but I was just in there to get my SNS removed and a simple manicure with clear polish which normally takes 30 minutes. This time it took them over an hour to take my polish off and when i left they still hadn't removed all the sns, my nails weren't super even and my nail beds were left pretty messy. WORST PEDICURE Paid for upgraded deluxe pedicure with paraffin, scrub, and massage. Water was scalding hot. Tech yelled at kids throughout, wiped legs down with lotion, and skipped massage. Cut nails short then got polish all over the skin. Wouldn't clean off because she didn't understand English. When I showed her she kept saying "they ok". Talked to manager and she said polish on skin was my fault because nails were so short. I told her tech cut them that way. She then said putting the lotion on counts as a massage but if I want a real massage I can pay extra. She also split two of my nails when she was clipping them. I've tried the new place close to home (Venetian), didn't love it and they take 2 hours every time! Who wants to sit in the nail salon for 2+ hours?! Not me. My go to is on Beach and Kernan (Matrix). My man friend lives in Atlantic Beach, so I wanted to just get them done close to his place. I yelp'd Ruby Nails. There were good and not-so-good reviews. I thought the place was small and not fancy. They greeted me and sat me quickly. I got the basic pedicure and gel nails, which was done in about one hour. They look great! I did my staple color OPI Bubble Bath. If you're looking for a great ambiance, this is not the place. But if you're looking for quick and a good job, this is def the place. I will def be back when in the area! Have not had the best pedi in forever! Walked in the salon on Thursday, the 13th of February with my cousin just because, they weren't too busy but they got us on the chair quickly. Anna took care of my toes and oh how they feel so much softer and beautiful, not to mention her great hands put me to sleep for a good 20 min. After the pedicure, Jenny started on my gel manicure. She did a great job because it has been more than 2 weeks and boy it still looks good, no chipping, no lifting. I waited till now to write the review because I'd like to see the result after weeks.
