I'm very picky about pedicures and unfortunately Modish is only a 3/5 in my book. The staff was kind and the facility clean and my toes look very nice. Those are the highlights. However they did not have enough choices of gel nail colors for me, nothing super trendy. The salon was super hot- the poor staff and the patrons were complaining. I have never had such an awful experience at a nail salon than at Modish. I booked a pedicure initially through Classpass, and called to verify that I could come in at a different time than the time I originally booked. I was told that once it said the appointment was booked, I could do so. I arrived and I had a gel pedicure that was outgrown so needed a gel removal. I had fully intended on paying additionally for the gel pedicure prior to the pedicure out of pocket. I am getting my gel pedicure removed when one of the employees comes and tells me that unfortunately the appointment was not fully booked (it was pending, despite my calling to confirm over the phone that it was okay), and that I would need to cancel the appointment and pay out of pocket for the pedicure. So I tell them that I am just going to opt for the gel removal at that time and not do the pedicure because my goal was to use Classpass credits that were going to expire. So I have the gel removed, and I continue to soak my feet. I was not sure what was being offered, and there was a light massage that was done, and my cuticles are removed. The employee asked if I wanted a pedicure and I said, no, just the gel removal. I go up to pay for my gel removal, and I see that I am being charged a gel removal and a pedicure - this was because I received a light massage/cuticle removal despite my saying I would just want a gel removal. At that point, I ask why I am being charged for a pedicure when there was zero nail polish on my feet. I am told that there must have been a misunderstanding, and that I received a pedicure - just minus the nail polish. So then I go and get my toes done, because at that point, I'm paying out of pocket for the entire experience. I come home, and two of my toes immediately over the next two days show signs of infection, likely paronychia. I don't know if this is because of the instruments or the amount of aggressive removal of cuticles that I experienced (I saw blood afterwards), but I am still in pain after use of antibiotic ointment. This is the most awful experience I have ever had at a nail salon. I will not be returning ever again and cannot recommend more against coming to this nail salon if you want a good, relaxing experience. I was ripped off, misled, and ultimately did not receive even a good treatment. read more

I usually write positive reviews, but this one will be more constructive. I post this that so people who consider this salon may consider adverse outcomes based off my experience with the service, sanitation, and actual manicure outcomes, specifically with acrylic. I came as a walk in for acrylic manicure on Fourth of July. It was busier, and I didn't mind waiting, so I waited about 15 minutes. They offered me a water bottle but that's all the positive feedback I have. The lady who did my manicure seemed to be in a rush and not listening to me. I asked for dip on my acrylic but was given gel even though I asked before we started and asked for confirmation as she began doing my nails. I think her name was Sandy, but I am not 100% sure because she didn't have a name tag and didn't introduce herself. She kept answering calls during my appointment and was avoidant, maybe because she didn't want to speak or she was more inward which I don't mind. I do mind if you're not explaining what you're doing, especially when it's hurting. She was super ROUGH on my nails, I had to ask her to be gentle when holding my hand to apply the acrylic, but she continued with the roughness. She was pinching my fingers hard and even lightly hit my hand to loosen my hand up. I was tense because she was hurting my hand with how tight she was holding it. She seemed confused on how to apply acrylic because she was rushing and messed up the application which took more time to buff and finish up. In the images I post, you can see how the application was not thoughtfully or carefully done. Not all the employees are like this because the lady next to me was getting her nails done by a younger stylist who was patient, kind, and gentle based off my observation. I was hoping my nail lady would look at her and try to service me this way but my experience was consistent throughout. She then went to apply the gel, which cracked the next day. My pinky nails were different lengths as well, which was frustrating because I was trying to be as patient and understanding as I could but it's simply not acceptable. I even tipped 20% because these salons depend on tips as well but I will not be returning. She also used a nail tool from another station that did not seem to be cleaned or sanitized, she grabbed it in a rush, but in the back of my mind I was apprehensive to her using it on my nail. I wanted to trust her but after my treatment, I realized I should've left. Sadly, I won't be returning and I urge others to not because of how the lady who did my nails treated me throughout the experience. I was dissatisfied with the service of this employee, the actual treatment on my nails by my nail lady, the sanitation habits, and the overall vibe. Hopefully they can get it together! read more

Very disappoint in the character of this salon. I was happy with my service on 10/17. Pedicure, removed old gel polish, new gel polish and full set shaped almond with gel polish. $114 including tip. So I made an appt for my 15yo to come with a friend for homecoming 7 days later. SAME EXACT services pedicure and full set!!!! I get a charge for $146! Never again! I called and the excuse was she got chrome polish instead of regular gel for $40 dollars!!!! Even if the service and results are good their business practices are not! read more

Decided to have a girl's day after having a busy morning. Prior to heading to Modish, I called to get an appointment for our group of four. The woman answering the phone was rather pleasant. I called at about 1:45 pm and asked when the earliest time would could get an appointment, she said whenever, so we opted to make the appointment at 2:15 pm. Parking was easy breezy. Tons of parking options and in a central location off of Hodges Blvd., near Walmart and Target. We walked in, signed in, and were instructed to pick out our nail polish color. We had a little bit of a wait and they seemed pretty busy. Unfortunately they weren't able to accommodate our group of four in the same row, which was a bummer, I mean we did make a reservation, so they had to split us up into two groups of two. We were seated, and there was at least a five to seven minute delay from the time we were seated to the time someone came to start on my nails, it didn't bother me too much, but just wish they had been a bit more up front about the time, as my actual pedicure didn't start until close to 3 pm. The girl that did my pedicure was lovely. She was super nice, pleasant to talk with and did a thorough job. Plus the massage on my legs and feet was great and she took her time. At $30 for a deluxe pedicure, their prices are pretty in line with other nail places in the area. I love the friendly, spotless, beautifully designed area, and of course my nails look amazing. I love the fact that this is a family owned salon and all of the employees work in perfect harmony. Management appears not to endorse or enforce standard hygiene and customary safety precautions such as using sterilized or auto-claved tools for each patron, cleaning manicure area surfaces between patrons, cleaning bowls used for soaking fingers or changing the water in them between patrons. I experienced and witnessed the same tools being used on multiple patrons without being cleaned or replaced with sanitized ones, the surface being casually wiped off with the dirty wash cloth that had just been used, and a "new cloth" put down that had debris on it when it was unfolded. read more

Walked in here short on time after being let out of work early as a nice weekend gift. Had only an hour before I had to pick up my son from school. As soon as I walked in i was greeted and asked to select a color. I requested the gel polish and stated I didn't need the full mani/pedi just the painting as I was crunched for time. I was seated right away and she got to work. She was very fast and the painting was perfect. No issues, like bubbles or uneven. The color was cute too and she made sure to ask if I liked the color or if I wanted to go darker. She offered water or wine as I was drying. But I didn't partake. It has been a week and the paint is still perfect, no chipping or peeling issues at all. Though I didn't get a full service I did see others getting the service and they use clean unopened products and wash and sanitize the stations. I will definitely be back for a proper mani/pedi. In my 30s This was my place to escape the long hard days of work, grueling Masters program, or an argument, or just a pamper treat for myself. At 42 it had been a good 7 years since I'd been so I tried searching online for over an hour " nail salon off Beach Boulevard Kernan Blvd., Atlantic Blvd., Hodges Boulevard" needless to say it was a lot! But driving from Mandarin I'd have hated it if j got there and like so many places they'd fine out of business. But this place? NOT. A. CHANCE. So I got in my car and I drove to the two places I knew it had to be at and there it was modish! I'm not a mani girl, given every line of work and biting my nails it doesn't last. Their Deluxe pedicure is better than ANY you have ever been to and trust me I've been through a lot salons in my 42 years. Everything from the sugar scrub hard stones paraffin wax soaking salts wine if you want it it's just amazing leg and feet massages are great, they have mastered removing an ingrown without you even noticing it happened! and they are wonders at making your feet 20 years younger! There was a woman that used to work there I can't remember her name but she no longer works there she used to do my eyebrows and she was absolutely amazing. I did get my eyebrows done I want to say I'm disappointed but out of a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it an eight. Their prices have gone up but is well worth the price for the Deluxe pedicure which is $35 weekdays $37 weekends and their chairs there are unlike any massage chairs you've ever been in anywhere in the whole atmosphere is amazing! The Deluxe Pedi last a good 35-45 minutes of pure pampering. They always ask things like are you ticklish, we want you relaxed. Start you off with cold water and adjust it to your liking. OPI is their 90% nail polish is they also do gel nail polish. They have eyebrow threading, eyebrow waxing, permanent eyebrows, manicure pedicure, waxing of all sorts, and so much more! it's a one stop shop for pure BLISS! I was so pleased with all the OPI colors, some you can't find anywhere! Now hopefully I'll find more time to go and splurge on the 1 more step up from the Deluxe Pedicure! They have 3 I believe ranging from 20, 35, and 70. Think I may put in an extra day of work for that treat! The basics of course, and then followed by a sugar scrub oil rubbed hot stone rub warm towels wrapped around your legs to lock in all that moisture and relaxed sore tired legs. I had a gel manicure and the 3rd highest priced pedicure ($38) and my total was $61...this is about $20 less than I pay for my mani/pedi closer to my house in Bartram Park. It was pretty crowded in there, so if you're going for a more low key vibe this probably isn't the place for you. The pedicure was fine and I have no complaints about it, which is why they're getting 2 stars. If you only want a pedicure, that's cool- go. They'll do a good job. However, waxing!? No. I'm afraid to think what you'd look like after a leg or bikini wax from this place.  As I sat down I even SAID "keep them as thick as possible" and proceeded to tell her a story about a friend who nearly plucked my entire eyebrow off in 5th grade, and how it's hard for me to grow eyebrow hair since then. But I guess she ignored me because she nearly took my entire left eyebrow off (photo below). The other eyebrow was only slightly better, because she must have seen how badly she messed up on the left eyebrow first and chose to be more careful on the right.  I immediately started crying when she handed me the mirror and refused to pay for my eyebrow wax. Somehow I have wax in my hair too. I drove directly to a makeup store and walked in the door crying asking them to show me a solution. They were all shocked by the wax job as well and did a great job of helping show me how to use an eyebrow pencil. I also purchased brow growing solution. I should take my receipt to Modish and have them pay for the products. I will not be back to Modish. This was a horrible experience. read more

This is my second time at the location. Guy whose name was D gave me SNS sets and I was unsatisfied. He had a terrible attitude and rushed through my nails ignoring my requests. I told him I don't like long nails and instead of trimming them he gave the file two swipes and grunted. I asked him a second time and he did the same thing. Sides were not filed down well and neat enough especially for the price considering the powder isn't SNS powder brand as written on menu.. He also nicked me multiple times. Another customer mentioned he had an attitude. Pedicure was nice I wasn't offered a beverage and the massage chair didn't work well but at least it was done neatly and she had s friendly attitude. I got the deluxe pedicure with a pink polish. Service is subpar but in a decent location with okay pricing for most services as they don't charge for shape of nail. read more
