Ridiculously bad regular manicure for me, my daughter and a family friend. My nails are still recovering, a month later, from being sanded down. None of our polish lasted more than 2 days. None of our friend's hangnails were snipped (she is visiting the US from abroad so she didn't know to ask), and her hands looked awful. But as disappointing as it was when I walked out, little did I know that my nails were sanded to paper thin, that they would easy break for the next few months, and that as the nail bed grew in I would have a ridge that looked like cuticles but in reality was the nail itself. I asked for a double French tip square. I showed a picture and she said she used to do it all the time. The lines are so uneven and my nails aren't filed correctly (look at my thumb) the lines aren't crisp and I paid $80 for this. I'm disappointed I didn't say anything in the salon but I learned my lesson. I got this for my husbands homecoming from deployment and I have to take them off and go somewhere else now. read more

Loved it! I went to Luxy nails as a recommendation from my aunt, she comes a lot and it is her favorite nail salon in Atlantic Beach. I got a basic pedicure and acrylics, though I felt the pedicure could have taken longer the acrylics were beautiful. The pedicure was good, my nails turned out great but was your average pedicure. Don't waste your money.... I actually have been twice now, just wanting to give this place a second chance (you never know - maybe it was just the technician). Just terrible. I came in for a gel manicure and a pedicure. They constantly try to up-sell you on anything & everything, they don't have the latest collections, they leave your nail edges rough and unfinished, and when I finally looked at my toes after my pedicure, there was polish literally all over my toes/cuticles. They are rushed, and maybe more importantly clearly don't care. After asking her 3 times to file my nail edges, I finally gave up, and filed my own nails 10 minutes after I got home. My first visit to Luxy Nails Spa and it was not good. The technician was an idiot and did nothing but chuckle over who knows what? Cold water for my manicure soak, a paraffin wax that was not completely soft and left numerous chunks of wax on my hands (not easy to clean off), then after three tries to paint my finger nails with regular polish - she wiped it off and sighed.... I said "just paint them with clear polish and be done with it". I paid the $22 and I also tipped well. Maybe she was having a really nutso episode - however I won't be back. My daughter and I went to get pedicures last Saturday. We called in and they said that they had availability. When we got there they sat us both down. After about 10 minutes one lady started working on me and my daughter sat in her chair the whole time I got my pedicure done which was a gel pedicure. Before coming to work on my daughter they helped the next people that came in. When she was done with my pedicure I asked if she would give my daughter a pedicure and she said sure. We went to go use the bathroom and when we came out she was already working on someone else and said that she wouldn't be able to do my daughter cause the other people had been waiting there too long. Asked if I could come back tomorrow. That will be a hard no. Won't be back again. My friends who have been going there have also mentioned they're unhappy with the place themselves. If you want to waste your time and be treated as if you don't matter, you should come here. read more

The girl proceeds to give me a full pedicure I didn't ask for as well as a manicure. Low & behold I was charged for a service I didn't ask for. Went into Luxy nails for the first time to get a pedicure today. I normally go to Zen Nails, but I've heard great things about this place, to my curiosity I decided to try it out first hand. The girl who did my pedicure named Julie and she did my pedicure under 20 minutes. How did I know it was under 20 minute? because I was on the phone from the moment I walked in, to picking out color for 5 mins, and when she took me to the drying station, that was when I completed my phone call. I checked my phone record, and it says 30 minutes. I asked to speak to the manager, but no one cane up and talk to me. When I was ready to pay, I told Julie I wasn't pleased with the timing of my pedicure. And I was watching the way she did my pedicure, it was very sloppy and fast. She was trying to argue with me about the timing. At that time I know that she's not being reasonable so I choose to pay for my pedicure and walk out. As soon as I walk out to my car, I checked my feet and there's still cuticle skin around my feet, the paint job was horrible. I was beyond frustrated at that point, I came back inside and requested to get my toes repaint. I forgot the young pretty girl that repaint my toes, she was being very helpful, and I'm sure through our conversation she did noticed that Julie did a my pedicure very fast. And she say that she would talk to the owner to check the footage on camera. My point here is not getting my money back, but if I'm paying for a pedicure, I do expect my pedicure to be longer than 20 minutes. I've never in my life received a pedicure that was this terrible, and the nasty attitude from Julie was unacceptable. You don't ever argue with your customer, especially in customer service industry. I would never come back here, because one bad apple just ruined for the rest of the place. read more

I went in a couple months ago and noticed that I didn't recognize many people. Okay, no big deal. It happened a couple more times before I finally realized that they were under new ownership. It took a really bad manicure by a new girl to make me realize that this was definitely not the same level of service I was used to. I managed to track down Aaron through Facebook. Aaron, Lily and Michelle (and probably others) have moved to Nails So Happy which is owned by the same people who previously owned Luxy. If you've been disappointed by the new folks or the new owners, try Nails so Happy. Sorry Luxy, you used to be my go to but when I have to go home and remove my nail polish and re-do my manicure, it's time to find a new place. read more

I went for my regular visit today, I had called first and they told me my regular girl Michele was no longer there. When I got there, to my amazement, sadly Luxy Nails has changed ownership..:( None of the regular people there anymore. The guy that did my pedicure had "NO CLUE" what he was doing at all...even as to how to cut a toenail. He then sent over a girl...while she was able to do that, when it came time to do the French on my toes, she had "NO CLUE" the white part is all different sizes and directions. I was so disappointed. Worst experience at a nail salon ever. I used to go to this salon years ago but now it's worse than before, if that's possible. The owner/manager who speaks perfect english has been rude and disrespectful to me on two separate occassions. After being specific and chrystal clear about what we wanted and didn't want I was charged for what we said no too. I spent $143.00 this evening, left a 20% tip and the owner/manager acted like she was doing me a favor. Her employee after I was specific about NOT putting gel on top of my teenage daughters best friends acrylic nail set did it anyway! When I went to pay and realized I asked the manager why I'm being charged for gel when I specifically told both her and her employee we did not want gel. Her response was infuriating, insulting and unheard of in a service industry. She said, "fine, we will take the gel off"! I was completely shocked and said, "fine, how long will it take"? She said, "two minutes". Yet another lie. I sat outside in the parking lot for 15 minutes as I knew it would NOT take 2 minutes but I have class and would never treat someone as badly as she treated me and my poor daughters friend who is very shy. After all of that I still left all three employees a 20%tip. I will NEVER step foot in Luxy again. There is plenty of competition in the beaches area. Manager, here is a great tip: try putting a smile on your face, thanking your clients for their business and maybe your shop wont look and feel like a graveyard. read more
