We bought a century-old rowhome in D.C. and didn't realize we also inherited a family of squirrels that ferociously dug into our front porch beam. We've gotten several quotes in the past two years where roofers and siding companies chalked it up as "this is going to cost you a lot of money and it's just not worth it." We finally decided to prioritize fixing this problem and got three quotes. I got two other quotes, and one was really expensive (due to different material cost) and the second one was comparatively the same. I trusted David's expertise because he was referred by my friend who highly recommended him (David fixed my friend's leaky roof issue nearby); and David didn't give me a run-around answer with the problem I had raised. When I finally decided to start on the project, David's team was ready to go. I wanted David to fix three big areas: 1) trimboard/beam; 2) gutter; and 3) front porch ceiling. David's team took photos throughout the process, identified that the front porch trim board didn't actually have a beam inside, so the squirrels lived in this hollow space filled with mulch and tree branches. They quickly gave me an estimate of the additional cost to add a beam and worked extremely hard to fixing the front porch roof area. They were done within a day and a half. I'm super pleased with David's craftsmanship. David went above and beyond my expectations, fixing a beautiful antique crown moulding that the squirrels chewed up, and making it look like new. They've repaired lost shingles, and wind damage to the soffits. When they replaced the roof for my house and garage it was supposed to be a two-day job. I had surgery scheduled for early on the second day. But they doubled the crew to finish the job in one day so I could recover at home without the noise. That was unexpected and greatly appreciated. They also quickly fixed leaking downspouts that were clogged from leaves. About a week ago they installed gutter guards. Each roofer they've ever sent for estimates and/or service has been an honest pro. Jerome is responsive, great at troubleshooting and patient when explaining things. Every transaction with Roof Solutions has felt like a bargain to me.

Long story short, they replaced the downspout but…read moredid such a lousy job that I continue to have leaking on my interior walls from inferior downspout connections. Here's what they didn't do, but should have done: 1- I was never able to show anyone what I needed to get done/replaced at my house (a picture is worth a thousand words), so had to trust that phone communications were accurately passed onto the workers. Since the work was subpar to non-existent, I don't beleive this ever happened. 2- They did not secure the connection between the gutter along my roof to the downspouts on either end of my house. The downspouts easily shifted out of place allowing stormwater to run down the front of my house (old brick house=water damaged plaster). I complained about this and they did come correct one side after giving me attitude about it. 3- They never replaced the downspout connection pieces where the porch roof downspouts connects with the main roof downspout. They didn't even secure what was already in place, so it continues to shift out of place resulting in water damage on interior walls following a renovation. I'm out of pocket on that one unless I take them to small claims court. 4- They didn't replace the end pieces that connect the downspout to the ground and just left what was already in place, which was rigged together through the years. I was satisfied with this company's roof work and had used them for over ten years. Big mistake thinking I could trust their work across the board. I probably got lucky with them having a couple quality roofers on staff. They are also not the cheapest company, but if the work is good I'll pay for that peace of mind.
