He picked the table up and returned it. For those of you who do not know what a drum table is, the center of the table goes around. Mine was badly broken causing the top to be very tilted. I told Mr Burkett, if he could not fix the table to turn and just have the top be connected to the part that turns, I would have him do the job. He came over and looked at it and said he was pretty confident he could fix it. I also have my grandmother's secretary and one of the doors was too warped to close, he fixed that too and now it closes perfectly.

AFS made everything smooth and easy and were able to schedule me in within a day or two. Rima, the woman working the phone, was terrific. She kept in constant phone and email contact throughout the ordeal. She even called me to discuss scheduling at 7pm, well after close of business. The two techs that arrived to my apartment to do the job were courteous and professional as well, contacting me letting me know the status of their arrival and answering all my questions when they were here. In the end, the job was completed to spec. I'd recommend hiring AFS over Dr. Sofa for your sofa disassembly/assembly needs if you are in the DC Metro area, as AFS is local, while Dr. Sofa is based in NYC.

He explained exactly what he was going to do, took measurements and got to work. He was meticulous and took his time. Next thing I know the back was sawed off and moved into my apartment. Next was the seat cushion portion. I helped him glide that into place. Then he got back to work putting it together again. He reinforced the frame with thick braces. It was solid. Then the stapled the batting and muslin cloth. He inspected his work, making a few adjustments and voila - my crate and barrel sofa was finally in my apartment. I HIGHLY recommend this company. The only thing they can improve on is accepting credit cards. Your only option is cash or check.

Rick did an amazing job on our front door--the wood was bleached from the sun and very dull. He has this neat system to block the empty doorway with a wood panel, and he uses no screws on the doorway so it isn't damaged while the door is being refinished. I finally received word it was ready for pickup nearly 6 months later. I was notified that the door would be locked and to knock. Prior to this customers could just walk in. It was wrapped in plastic and I could not sit in it nor examine it, there was a rush to get me out the door. I paid the $$$$ balance and brought it home, excited to have it done. I sat in it and was immediately disappointed that it was not as we discussed and what was spelled out in detail on my itemized receipt. Appears that the correct foam for the chair back was not ordered. The chair pushes you out because the back is as thick as the seat cushion which is wrong. I did have an immediate conversation with Gina who sounded upset that I was not overjoyed with the result. I asked her when I could bring it back, she said the crew was backed up and had projects they had to get out; that she would be in contact with me. Needless to say it is Aug 31 and I have tried to contact by phone and text many times with no reply. Gina also knew I had an ottoman/footstool I also wanted completed for this chair and I suppose that may never happen. The cushions of the chair, other than the back cushion, are wonderfully constructed with great care and attention to detail. I am very upset and confused as to why I cannot get them to reply to correct this obvious error on the back cushion. I also had made it known that I had other similar chairs I wanted to have restored in the future; what a shame that it has come to this! I am seriously considering back-charging this with my credit card company in hopes to have resolution.
