I've hired Winfield Builders twice, once to replace my roof in summer 2021 and again in summer 2022 to replace my gutters. Zach made a strong impression from the start--when he came out to inspect my roof and I told him of a problem area, he went up on the roof to look at it! Replacing the roof took only one day, the crew arrived early and worked very hard. I also had the gutters replaced, opting for 6" gutters. The larger size has made a huge difference, as they're less likely to get clogged. My home is in good shape thanks to Winfield Builders! read more

I hired Winfield Builders to replace two old skylights in my Rockville home, and Zach and his team went above and beyond. My project was complicated because my 1980s drywall shafts were the wrong size for modern solar blinds. Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. Their price is VERY reasonable, and the communication through Yelp was professional and transparent. It is rare to find a contractor who cares this much about the details. If you want a crew that is honest, skilled, and delivers a beautiful finish, call Zach. 1000% recommendation! read more

Winfield did great job with replacing our gutters. As example of high service, after installing we noticed minor issue with one downspout. They responded to our text that night and sent someone to fix it immediately. Estimate was competitive with others without upselling for things don't need. read more

Long overdue review, but I would definitely recommend Winfield Builders! We had them replace the roof, gutters and siding on our rental property. Pricing was by far the most competitive and transparent and they helped us figure out financing too. Zach was a great project manager: very personable and excellent communication, especially important since we set everything up long distance from where we live on the west coast. He was great scheduling around our tenant, as well as some additional repairs needed to the chimney before we could start. The house looks great! read more

Winfield Builders did a great job in replacing 13 windows in our house. The price was competitive, the service was first-rate, and the double lifetime warranty is reassuring. The crew measured and ordered the windows, and a few months later, installed them in one day. I like a lot of reassurances, and Zach was patient and helpful in the process. I highly recommend Winfield Builders, and plan to contact them when I need roof and/or siding work done, too! read more

Zach and crew are fantastic. While not the least expensive of the proposals we got, they had by far the best proposal (the most extensive) and we were just plain comfortable with Zach. He is extremely customer-focused and said repeatedly that he is all about making sure that his customers are 100% happy. And we are, two years after the work was done. (Sorry Zach for taking so long to post this!) His crew replaced all of our gutters after we had our entire roof replaced. They also put metal covers on all exterior wood trim, so we never have to worry about that again. They also did a few other smaller things, all really, really well. 100% would recommend, very highly! read more

Well, this is a first for me! I'm writing a review based on a contractor's commitment to customer service, and they haven't even done any work for me. I called Winfield Builders for a quote to replace my roof and siding. Zack (owner) called me back late in the afternoon on the same day (which was appreciated). I explained my situation and in the process shared my address. Zack interrupted me to let me know that he's not, at this time, licensed in Virginia. I thought that might be the end of the call. Rather, Zack went on to suggest how I should approach the situation. He spent his valuable time on how I should approach the contractor process (get 3 bids), the quality of materials that he uses and suggested I should have used, how to work with my insurance company (storm damage) and other helpful tips. I was sincerely shocked that he would go out of his way to share these insights with me. Prior to calling Winfield, I decided I would only work with a highly rated contractor. Winfield Builders has a perfect score of 5 with 25 ratings! If you have ever worked with the public, you can appreciate how challenging that score is to achieve. Zack shared that he bought into a family business and by focusing on quality of service has grown his business. Obviously, Zack takes care of his clients - even the tougher ones. I ended the call being disappointed that I am not able to take advantage of the services offered by Winfield Builders. However, thanks to Zack, I am much better prepared to get the right local contractor and make this work. Even in my taking the time to write this review, I remain indebted to Zack for his kindness and professional courtesy. read more

Did an excellent job on a roof for a great price. We needed a new roof to get insurance on a new home, in order for the financing to close, so we appreciate their speed and communication. Did the job in a day and cleaned up well. read more

Winfield Builders - New roof. - Roofing Near Me - Olney, Maryland

We needed all new windows after buying a house in Olney. We chose Winfield because they were local, had consistently good reviews, and gave us a really good price to replace all our windows. Added bonus, they weren't pushy like so many other contractors. David Hong and his team did a fantastic job, installing all windows in a single day. Our house is maintaining temps much more efficiently and everything looks really nice. Exceptional upgrade at an exceptionally good price. Highly recommend! read more

I know nothing about roofs. I just know I bought a house that needed one. After enduring pushy and overpriced salesmen from other roofing companies in the area, I finally had an estimate appointment with Zach at Winfield Builders. Right off the bat he was personable, genuine, patient and showed that he really cared about the client. Their quote came in at second lowest, but definitely was number one when it came to value for price. Throughout the process, working with Zach was seamless. He was responsive to emails and texts. During the roof replacement I was not home and he sent texts with updates and photos. After the roof was completed (1.5 days, the old roof was harder to get off than anticipated), the yard was free of debris with the exception of 5-10 that I've found so far around the deck. As a dog owner, clean up was important and I am not disappointed. I would highly recommend Winfield Builders to anyone looking for roofing work. I will keep their contact information handy for when I'm ready for our addition. Hoping to work with them again! read more

Really great experience with Winfield, all around. There is not much to say that hasn't already been said. We did a walk-through with Zach and got an estimate from him to replace our full roof and many windows. Winfield's pricing was competitive but not the lowest. We ended up choosing them over others because of how attentive, professional, and trustworthy Zach was. The roof and window crews that did the work were very thorough and professional too. Everything looked really good when it was all done. We will definitely contact Winfield for other home exterior projects. read more

These guys are the best! We are very happy with our new roof and gutters. We went with them due to the fact their estimate was the lowest. Ask for Zach, he was great to work with. read more

I highly recommend Winfield Builders, Zack was extremely helpful and friendly he called me to follow up on the entire project. Within a few days my roof was replaced, his contractors were extremely helpful and great to work with, they also went above and beyond to clean my gutters they also cleaned in detail before they leave. I will definitely call them again for my next house project. read more

We worked with Winfield Builders to have our roof replaced on our townhouse in November 2020. From the beginning to the end it was a pleasure working with Zach and his company. He was very responsive and communicated with me along every step of the process (appreciated as a first time homeowner). Everything ran on schedule and his crew was done installing our new roof in a day and a half. Pricing was very competitive and among the best from the 7 quotes I received from local companies and quality materials were used. They also offer a very comprehension warranty for the roof systems they install. Furthermore, when we had some issues with a water leak after the roof was redone, Zach worked with me responding to my emails at all hours and days of the week. He then sent his crew out to inspect and they were able to confirm that the issue was related our siding and not roof related. Overall extremely pleased with our new roof and Winfield Builders. Zach went above and beyond for us and I would happily use them again for any future roofing needs. read more

This review is long over do. Whinfield did a great job on our roof and gutter install. Communication, installation, cleanup and price were exceptional! They made an error that caused the interior of our attic to get covered in debris but one call to them and they took care of it. If the roof on our new home was not new I would have contacted Zack in heartbeat. It is rare to find a contractor who stands behind their work and delivers an exceptional product like Winfield builders. Highly recommended. read more

Winfield just finished my roof and it has been an excellent experience. Zach came gave me an estimate and patiently waited until I made my decision. No hassles. Then afterwards he came back and checked to make sure it was done to their standards. And he was willing to work with the insurance company to make sure everything was covered. No hard sales pitch just easy conversation. Estimate came in $3000 less that their competitors who called me almost everyday. . . for the SAME IDENTICAL shingle. Guess I would have been paying for their TV advertising. Highly recommend Winfield Builders and Zach Dickie is awesome! read more

I highly recommend Winfield Builders. Zack who came out and looked at my roof is extremely personable and understood what I wanted. He worked with me knowing what I wanted and met my expectations and then some. Everything was clearly explained in detail. He sent the contract with everything listed. There were no questions on my part as all his detail provided everything I needed to know. The roofing crew was top notch. They worked hard and got the roof replacement done. The roof is beautiful and extremely well done. The supervisor of the roofers was very helpful and made sure everything was done well and cleaned up thoroughly. My older house looks brand new with this roof and is beautiful. My neighbors are very impressed with the work and told me how good my roof looks. As I said I highly recommend Winfield Builders. Zack listens and tells you every detail of what will be done. You will be very happy if you have them do your roof. read more

I needed to replace three windows, patio doors (two sets) and a set of French doors. So I googled window replacement and came across Winfield Builders. I spoke with Zach at length about my project; and then Paul and Zach (father and son duo) came out to take measurements. I asked MANY questions and they answered every single one. Even when I emailed with questions, I always received a prompt reply. The work lasted all day with seven people working at once. The clean-up was great. The company even replaced a lock for me and ran a cable under my rug. I couldn't ask for a better experience. I didn't shop for quotes so I have nothing to compare their prices too--but based on customer service alone I was happy with my choice. I HIGHLY recommend this company. read more

If you ever need or want new windows, contact Winfield Builders. Competitive isn't a term I'd use for their prices when compared to the more popular, big-name windows companies in the area, because there's really no contest. I've priced new windows with the the more popular windows installation companies in the area and the quote I received from Winfield Builders was SIGNIFICANTLY less than the competition, fully installed, with clean-up, and everything. When it comes to new windows, the choice is clear (window pun intended), as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't make sense to throw caution to the wind and leave yourself open to the pane of buyers remorse (all sorts of window puns intended). read more

I just got a new roof on our barn/4 car garage which is way in the back yard separated by a lot of lawn. They did a good job of not tearing up the lawn. The owner was present during the project because it was a little different than their usual worksite. They got it done in 2 days (it's a big steep roof) and replaced a reasonable number of plywood sheets. Their initial estimate was in line with a few other estimates I got and the final cost did not significantly exceed what was expected. They were also able to squeeze it between rain storms, so no more leak. Clean-up wasn't perfect, but as well as can be expected. No complaints. No surprises. That's all I want. I'd definately recommend them and use them again. Update - The owner followed up with me because he wanted to make sure that his workers did not leave a mess. I wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble. It wasn't "perfect", but maybe I should have added that it was cleaner than I would have left it. It's a large garage (4 cars) with a lot of junk in it and a few of the thin plastics strips from the adhesives strips on the shingles blew into the garage while they were working. I don't really expect roofers to clean out my garage, so that's all I meant by it wasn't "perfect." Also, my gutters were falling off before they got there and they fixed my gutters for free, so nice bonus there. read more

Needed to replace majority of my mom's windows and had no idea where to even look. I found Winfield Builders online and saw that it had 5 stars! I called and spoke to Zach and he was very accomodating especially since he was going on vacation he took the time to look at the house before he left. Who knew that windows could be so expensive, but I feel that the prices were very fair and reasonable, especially after calling around and doing research. Schedualing was a little tricky for me, but Zach was very flexible and accomodating especially with the rain delay, but it all worked out in the end! What a difference! The windows look amazing and the process was very simple and stress free! Thanks Zach, I guess you deserve 5 stars! :) read more

Disclaimer: this review is not based on actual work performed by Winfield Builders, but on the customer service I received. I called Winfield after a disappointing visit from Braxx to identify a ceiling leak that I suspected was from the roof's flashing. Zach picked up and my interaction with him was markedly different than any of the other places I called. Zach must have spent 20 minutes on the phone with me as I explained my problem and he looked through photos I had shared via Yelp messaging. Throughout he was extremely personable, sympathetic, and helpful. Unfortunately Winfield was booked solidly and was going to be unable to directly assist me, but the advice he provided was invaluable (it was my first time dealing with roofing). He also shared names of other roofing companies I could look into. I have since made arrangements with one of those. Thanks Zach! read more

Winfield Builders installed our new roof and gutter with champion gutter cover. Zach has provided excellent customer services, always patient, always responsible to all questions asked. No power sales, which always make us uncomfortable and provided all the facts that you would need to make an informative decision. The installation was fast less than 2 days. They cleaned well after the work. When I called in a week later about a couple singles that are a bit raised. Zach was on my roof and calling back within the hour. I love the new roof and would recommend them to everything. read more

This is a hidden gem in MD. We got our roof replaced with Winfield and it was a completely pleasant experience from the get-go. Zach is extremely professional and came in to give an estimate. Zach's estimate was very reasonable and the cheapest among the three estimates that we had. I was just pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail paid by Zach (shingle type, shingle color etc.) and his team. His team promptly came on time and replaced the roof in a day. We also had them tack the gutters back in place as we could see rain water drip through them. After they finished installing, I did see some signs of rain water drip through the gutters and Zach was kind enough to come the next day and tack them back in place. Zach is always a text away and I really appreciated his prompt communication. For sure, we are going to use their services for any other external house work in the future (sidings, gutters etc.). I am thoroughly satisfied with their service and highly recommend them. In addition, we wanted to get couple of rooms painted. Though Winfield does not offer those services they recommended me a painter, whose estimate was also reasonable. We got our rooms painted as well and they did a great job! Extra brownie points to the folks at Winfield for providing a sound recommendation. read more

Let me start out by saying, our old deck was a mine field! It had splinters, uprooted nails and the steps That were a death trap. What I loved about Winfield Builders is Paul (General Contract), was always accessible either in person or via phone, and he would come to look at how the guys were doing. After our initial meeting, he listened and then proceeded into a discussion on a couple of different options. I had already interviewed a few contractors by then. I knew I wanted Paul and his crew to do the job. He fell on the middle ground when it came to cost. Paul was very detailed in the types of material his crew would be using. They were very methodical and has a fantastic crew chief who I would consider a master carpenter. Wow, they were incredibly impressive. They worked fast. It only took 2 hours for the crew to take down the old deck. Every day they came in with a plan. They even built us custom gates because they felt the manufacturer's quality of their gates were not up to par. Now that's what I call old fashioned customer service. I have nothing negative at all to say about them. We love our new deck and have been enjoying it since it's been completed. Fantastic job guys. Thanks a bunch. read more

I had wind damage to my roof that resulted in rain entering my bedroom. When I contacted Zach, he came out to the same day, climbed up on the roof and took a look. He told me what was wrong and explained things when I had questions. He was always quick to respond when I contacted him. He did lots of leg work to handle my insurance company for me. I don't know what a roof is supposed to cost, but I can say two things: (1) he agreed to accept the insurance company's prices (2) we upgraded to a better shingle than my insurance would pay for intending to pay extra and in the end Zach did not charge us more than my deductible for the higher grade shingle. I hope I don't need a roof again anytime soon, but if I do, I will call Zach at Winfield. read more

We got the siding replaced from wood to vinyl. The final job looks very good, even a different contractor working with my neighbor give us a compliment. After contacting the company, Zach visited our place right away, and gave as a fair quote. He was clear about the changes he could do and different possibilities. He was patient with us, and most importantly he was able to schedule the work before our baby was born ( which we explained to him and he did his best). I was at home during the work, it can get messy but they did their best to clean after it was finished. After the work was done, we had a small concern about the gathers and Zach personally came and check them. He also came 1 month later after we had a leak on a window, which ended up being a window issue, but it was good to know that he was available and responsive to our questions and worries. Winfield Builders did an excellent job with replacing our near 40 year old windows and door. We had previously met with Thompson Creek and were quoted a uncomfortably high number, left feeling like we were being duped. So I reached out to Winfield based on their stellar reviews here and other other sites. I received a response from Zach that day and worked around my schedule to set up an estimate. Zach was knowledgeable, honest, and personable. He gave me options but did not try to upsell, which I highly appreciated. He knew what I was looking for and gave me his honest opinion. The estimate was very fair for 13 windows and 1 sliding glass, nearly half of what Thompson Creek was trying to sell us. Installation by Karol and Rahky was top notch. They were clean, meticulous, and left with a product of which we couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend working with Winfield Builders. read more

We recommend Winfield builders wholeheartedly and without reservation. We needed to replace the siding on our home. We met with several contractors who examined our home and gave us estimates which included various products and times for completion of the project. I'm in real estate so I have to deal with a lot of contractors, roofers, etc. It's so hard to find people you trust, people who still care about the customer and care about good service in this industry... So I'm so appreciative of Zach at Winfield builders. I was selling my parents house and I needed a roofer fast to come check out some loose shingles and inspect the roof. The first thing I was impressed with: They picked up the phone!!!!! Everyone else called me days later which was too late. He was there the next day and was incredibly thorough and honest about what needed to be done now and what could wait a few years. Rather than charge me an arm and a leg to do everything now he totally understood we were selling the house and didn't want to spend money on anything that didn't have to be done. In a nutshell, this reminds me of an old fashioned company, the kind that takes pride in their work, does what they say they're going to do, and tries to accommodate their customers as best they can. read more

We just had gutters with Champion Gutter Guards installed by Winfield Builders and are more than satisfied with the work done! Zachary arranged for the install and was always accessible, reliable, friendly, and honest. Working with him was refreshing, and is the way that it should be in working with a contractor, but is extremely rare this day and age. Tony visited our home to evaluate the problems with the roof and the siding, which he did thoroughly, provided advise on the options available and offered a fair estimate for the work that needed to be done. He made all efforts to have both jobs done within the frantic schedule of our house sale. His two teams (for roofing and siding) did a very good job, especially Dave who replaced a very difficult, slanted area of the siding above the garage. The best of this experience was the interaction with the owner of the company, Tony, who was at all times understanding and helpful, even under a barrage of e-mails from an obsessive-compulsive. Working with Winfield Builders -- to have several windows replaced -- was a great experience from beginning to end. I was very impressed by Tony, who came out for the initial estimate. He was the complete opposite of a "high-pressured salesman" -- I really felt like he listened to me and cared about my situation and requests, by the fact that he didn't try to talk me into having any unnecessary additional work done. The team that came out for the measurements and installation did a stellar job. They really took pride in their work and paid attention to every detail. They completely cleaned up everything after the work was finished. All aspects of the process were explained to me very well the entire time.
