Just went on 12/31 to use up my FSA bucks. Called same day and got 2 appointments. Then I was 20 min late. Was greeted by a super friendly staff. The guy getting us checked in (gav?) was great and even helped us with iphone questions. Ha. The doctors were super too. Vu and Jordan. When it comes to the eye doctor you go once a year and how often to the same place? So next time you are picking go here. I've visited this place twice now, once after a bad eye infection sent me from years of contacts over to glasses, and today, two years later, after said glasses snapped in half. Dr. Soroush Azadi was the one to check me out both times, and he is excellent. He talks and does things very quickly and efficiently, all while explaining everything, and explaining it well. He will answer any questions you have in a manner that suggests he's actually looking out for YOUR well-being, both physical and financial. Within about 15 minutes of talking, he was able to help me come up with a personal plan on how to wear contacts some of the time, glasses other times, while avoiding getting another infection as much as possible. He didn't try to oversell the contacts, and took the time to explain exactly what was on the paperwork (glasses prescription, contact prescription) before I left, as opposed to just giving me a sheet of paper with some stuff scribbled on it. I wish everyone did business like this guy. He didn't freak out because it had been two years since I had been examined. He didn't try to convince me that two week contacts had to be thrown out at the end of two weeks if they were taken out every night. At no point did I ask him a question and get a blank look, even though I was being very frank and to the point, which seems to throw some people off. In regards to the receptionist staff, I've always dealt with the one woman, and she's alright. I wouldn't say she was awesome, because she doesn't seem to understand the concept of, "I cannot see right now because you had me take my contacts out." She just kind of wanders off, expecting you to follow. If you're as blind as me (-5, -5.5), make sure you have someone with you, or tell her you'll take your contacts out once she's actually ready to do something with you. I mean, I could certainly follow the blur as it moved about, but it was far from the most comfortable situation in the world. read more

My son and I went in to see Vita Vala and she is a great eye doctor. We both arrived on time and were taken right in as we had filled out the paperwork online. The front desk found that our health insurance had better coverage that our vision so we were able to get more eye services performed at no additional costs. Came in to have an eye exam for new lenses and frames next door. I have never had contact lenses before but decided to move forward and try them out after wearing glasses for the past 8 years. Both of my exams were done quickly (painlessly) and very professionally. Dr. Xavier made the entire process smooth and kinda fun. Very knowledgeable and personable. Her entire office staff was polite and helpful along with being very patient in my first ever attempt in putting in contacts. First eye 5 seconds Second eye 30 minutes, but Sonja coached me through the process and took the time to get me comfortable with it. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor or medical institution. My first appointment was going fine until I was told that I was going to pay over double the cost of what my insurance told me I would pay. I called insurance and handed the phone to the woman at the front desk, and they had to tell her how to type in the codes. Once that was fixed I was told I needed to set up an appointment to "pick up my contacts" which was false as I was really picking up trials, that was no big deal, until I was told I needed to make another appointment from there to pick up the contacts themselves. It took me weeks to get an appointment that worked and when I came I was told I didn't need an appointment at all, I didn't even need to be there as they did not order contacts. The front office has now made numerous mistakes but up until now I didn't have any problem with the doctor, until I get my perception and it is off. I'm trying to get this fixed but will not be going to this location again, I'm going to be trying a new location. I had made an appointment by phone for 6 on a Monday as they close at 6:30 but the day of my appointment they canceled it saying they take last appointments at 5:30, weird, because the other locations I looked up have appointment times ending at 30 minutes before. Glad I'm done with this location and hope for the best at another one read more

I am a very busy professional and love the fact I can get in and out quickly. My husband and I were able to go in and get our eyes checks and leave with prescriptions in less than an hour and go next door to get our glasses. I love this place. I ordered my eyeglasses12 days in advance of some eye surgery. I asked that the order be expedited so that perhaps I could receive the glasses in 12 days rather than the promised 14. More than 3 weeks later, I am still waiting for the glasses! This in spite of daily phone calls to the store. I have been told so many creative stories by the staff that I am left wondering if they are trained to lie. On day #16, I called Customer Service and was informed that the lab had not yet received my prescription and order! Eventually I got a call from Tom, who I imagine is a district manager of sorts. He promised me that the manager, Don, would "make it right" and would "take good care of me". I The manager, Don, does not have a grip on what transpires in his store. The accountability in that place is "zero" as is customer service. He has offered me a 25% discount on the glasses, which I no longer need emergently. That's a good thing, because as of Saturday, 3 wks since the purchase, the glasses were STILL not in. read more

Normally I would not go to an optometrist in a mall setting only bc I would assume they have high overhead. I stumbled on this by accident but I am glad I did. Dr. Emily Jordan is excellent at what she does. She's efficient, takes time to explain things and is precise. A breath of fresh air compared to the old dinosaurs where messing up my prescription is the norm rather than the exception. This review is for a scratched cornea, which is incredibly painful. The administrative staff was efficient and polite, Dr. Jordan was amazing. Excellent experience. I was hesitant to visit a place in the mall for the first time, but all my expectations were greatly exceeded. Dr. Jordan knows her stuff. Best of all, they didn't try to sell me glasses at all. My RX had changed slightly from a few years ago (I am 20 years post Lasik) and she told me it was close enough and that my current glasses were fine for the rare times I use them at night when driving. I want to start my review on a positive note, Dr. Azadi is excellent and very efficient. He presents information in a very thoughtful way, and I never felt like he was talking down to me when he was explaining various options I have with my vision loss. If this review were on him alone I would give him 5 stars. However, the rest of the staff that I've encountered at the front desk have caused me to look for a new eye doctor in Austin. Besides just walking away and expecting me to follow (I'm really near sighted and it's difficult to see without contacts) they also performed one of the pre-doctor tests on me 3 times. Due to my nearsightedness, the thing where you look at a black square that moves all around and you click when you see it is pretty difficult. It's not made easier by someone saying "you don't see that?" "you really can't see it?!" and making you take the test 3 times. The staff was very short with me, and did not make for a pleasant visit. Months later I called back to clarify a prescription and discuss different brands that I had worn in the past. I was told very rudely that she can't help with that, I have to come back in and be "fit" with those contacts even though I've been wearing them for 3 years. Overall, if you need a quality eye doctor quickly, and don't mind the lack of accessibility post visit or rude office staff it's a quality visit. read more

I wear Glasses and contacts both. I saw their advertisement for $100 designer frames, any lens and I literllay ran to this place to buy me a new pair of glasses. I liked the collection of frames, and the sales people were very cooperative as well. The reason for 4 star is that I ended up paying $360...I still dont know why. I bought contacts which I thought were one month contacts but when they showed up, they were two weeks, and more expensive one. I didnt ask and just paid what the salesman was asking me to but after I came home and did the math, I turned out that I paid more:) I didnt want the contacts that they sold me...I just went to buy a pair of glasses and thats the kinda sales tricks that I am scared of:) read more

I didn't have to wait long, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Jordan is the most knowledgeable and efficient optometrist that I've had in Austin. I usually visit an optometrist based on convenience to my location, so I have been to a handful of offices in the past 5 years of living in Austin. On two visits to two different doctors at different offices, they saw an eye abnormality and couldn't really tell me much about it. I recall even one doctor doing research AFTER my visit to determine the condition and name of the abnormality. She called me a few days after the visit. Dr. Jordan was prepared to answer any question that I had, and her efficiency in delivering information and offering options was second to none. The assistant doing prelim exams prior to the doctor was patient and caring. What a GREAT office! I plan to return rather than risk a visit at another unknowledgeable and "cold" optometrist. So I went into this store to buy glasses. Ended up buying three pair very expensive glasses. Two were no line bifocals and one was a pair of sunglasses. Yes, I waited a whole year to pick up one pair that was not even ready and they have lost them. Very upset. The manager said was I mad at them because I did not pick my glasses up for a year? I said no and not to get smart just to find my glasses. So that being said yes it was negligent of me to not pick them up but they were paid in full and nowhere did I sign a disclosure stating that they would be thrown out after so long. So will I go back? No its out of the way anyhow, and my prescriptions has already changed, but the frames were expensive so I wanted those at least. read more

Purchased glasses on 1/8 and was told it would be 9-10 days. Got call on 1/24 to pickup glasses. Arrived to frames I had never seen and was asked, "What brand did you pick?" I began to search the many glasses and brand was located. I asked the manager if I could get my glasses any earlier than the 2/4/10 date given. He explained his "no" and made no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. When I got home, I found a number of mistakes on the receipt for the correction. I am concerned that EyeMasters may not be able to do beyond the basics...not trifocals/non-glare that they sell as special order. I called the costomer service voice mail. I've been going here for years and have been consistently happy with the office, the staff, and the Doctors.

SCAM!!! They make you read a paper about an optional part of exam that is $39, but never ask you whether you want it or not and do it any ways. They also have a paper that gives you a 3rd option exam that is also $39 with a check yes or no box. I checked no, but it's meant to confuse you. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! Also every person in the front of the store acts like they hate their life working there. Not one smile or anything the whole time I was there. Worst experience ever!! read more

I had the WORST experience with this location. Not only was the sales associate either extremely new or extremely incompetent or both (entered my script incorrectly into computer and I had to correct her-and I actually felt very sorry for her), but the manager "Albert" is unprofessional. He would not even give me his last name today when I had to call them nearly 1 month later to let them know that my insurance is still showing that I purchased glasses there (I voided my transaction with the manager Albert that same day as I did not feel at all certain that I would even be able to see out of the ordered glasses). I was told "we're really busy on Saturdays and I cannot guarantee you that we'll get to that today." When I asked "Albert" for his last name he said "I am not going to give that to you over the phone." Really??? What poor customer service. read more

Did a walk in and was very impressed I didn't have to wait too long. Very nice staff. The doctor was very nice and even had a close sample of my contacts rx, which is very rare with the rx I have.
