I can't say enough good things about Innovative Eye Care. After struggling with eye issues like GPC and a contact allergy, I finally found relief thanks to Dr. Liranzo. I had been a loyal Dr. McQueen fan for years, but Dr. Liranzo has truly been a blessing--he helped get my inflammation under control for weeks on end and worked with me to find the best contact lens options to fit my lifestyle. While my vision isn't 100%, I'm finally able to live normally again, and if you've dealt with eye issues, you know how life-changing that is. Dr. Collins is also fantastic--so kind, knowledgeable, and supportive. And Camille (I hope I'm spelling it right) is an absolute gem! I was in dire need of an eye exam since my Lasik seems to be hanging on by a thread as I get older. I appreciate their flexible hours and I was able to get in on a weekend with Dr. McQueen. He was very knowledgeable and kind. I ended up going back to the practice to order some glasses a week later and was able to be seen right away. I was notified about two weeks later that my glasses had come in. When I went to pick them up, I was assisted the minute I stepped in the door and they fitted me for my glasses. The doctors and the staff are awesome. My only complaint is their text system for communication with patients. They send a high frequency of texts and reminders to patients with reminders to schedule appointments or order contact lenses. Even if you have scheduled an appointment or placed an order, they keep on sending them to the point that it's annoying and unprofessional. I opted out and now when I order contact lenses, I don't get notified when they arrive. I attempted to address this with the staff and they said there was nothing they could do to adjust the volume of texts. I wish they'd find a better system that informs patients of things they need to know without burdening them unnecessarily with texts. read more

My first time going and the doctor was a sweetheart. However, the couple of staff members I had the displeasure of meeting will bring this necessary review to light. A red headed, younger woman was completely rude to me out of nowhere and it seemed like a personal attack. There was another younger woman (shorter, dark haired) that seemed to be either having a bad day or just wanted to take her anger out on the next person she ran into. Unfortunately that individual was me. It appeared they had nothing better to do than to ruin someone else's day that has absolutely zero influence on your well-being. Again, the doctor, complete professional and incredible -- but the supporting cast needs reevaluation. read more

I have been a loyal customer for 3-4 years, getting my contacts from them and going to regular appointments. I received a bill today (12/13) for an appointment in October for $40.00. I noticed this is the FIRST attempt they made to tell me I had this bill, yet they claimed if I didn't pay in 14 days they'd send me to collections. There's a note on the bill claiming they sent me an email. I searched for this email - never got it. Never received a call, text, or a bill in the mail. I have perfect credit. I called to pay the bill ASAP and was laughed off that "this keeps happening" as they were bought by a new company. I am not down with a threat to collections when 0 effort was made to inform me of this low outstanding balance, which I instantly paid in full. 0 good will gestures were done either to make this right. Unorganized, unprofessional and I won't be going back. Plenty of other eye doctors locally to choose from who have a better and accurate billing system in place. read more

I've been a patient here for 10 years. My most recent pair of glasses have been terrible. They slide down my nose persistently. I have been in multiple times to have them adjusted. The staff was friendly each time, but the problem never went away. Today I went in to ask for a different set of frames because I'm just tired of this problem. I have put up with it for about 10 months. They told me that it's a fit issue, not a manufacturer's defect, so they can't help me. All I can do is buy a new pair. I asked them why the fit issue isn't something that they caught over the past several visits, and they just said 'I dunno, it looks good." If I hadn't come in several times over the past 10 months, I wouldn't blame them. As things are, I'm just very disappointed, and I'll be moving to another optometrist. read more

I had to do an eye appointment recently and was not sure how that would work with COVID guidelines. I've come to Innovative for several years and felt like they'd have everything covered, and they did. All staff are wearing masks. All equipment was cleaned before and after use. There was even a face guard on the eye test machine (no, that is not it's proper name lol). The staff was really friendly, the doctor was quick and let me take my time washing my hands so I could test out the contacts. When it came to the choosing of my glasses I did feel that person wasn't as patient and she kept wanting me to look at frames I told her I didn't like. However, she allowed me to select several frames and go into a back room so I could unmask and try them on in a mirror. It was a good experience and adapted to the changed environment we are living in. read more

I have been a client here for several years and it's been lovely until today. My rating is purely about scheduling and front reception - not the exam quality or knowledge of the doctors. This is to share my frustration to the management about an experience with the reception staff. I knew I would be late and called while on my way to ensure I could still be seen if I arrived 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment. No one answered so I left a voicemail with details on my appointment and arrival time, and requested a call back if my appointment needed to be rescheduled. I made the 20 minute drive to the office. Upon arrival, there are two receptionists there and it is not busy at all. I'm told I'm outside the grace period and will have to be rescheduled. I mention I called and asked for a call back to avoid this and the guy just says, yeah, sorry about not calling you back. I own that I was late. What I want to make management aware of the customer experience. Why are calls going to voicemail when you have two+ people up front seemingly very available to answer the phone? And, when a scheduled patient doesn't show - is there no thought to check voicemail to see if the patient called in attempt to communicate their situation? My experience is more disappointing because this is a small practice that has historically had very conscientious staff. I didn't get that today and hope it isn't a new norm. read more

My family has spent hundreds of dollars on their products and services in the last week. I ran in a couple minutes over the grace period today for my appointment and they turned me away. I saw an eye doctor yesterday and she asked me to come back for a follow up. I went today and doc had no bedside manner whatsoever. She looked at my eye again for a long time and turned off the light. She kept sighing and turned the light back on and said I'll be right back. She left me in the room for about 15 minutes and came back and said, I'm sorry this is beyond my scope and practice. She said she was sorry it's 5 pm on a Friday and told me to go the ER right away. Then she walked me up to the front desk and they made me hang around so they could charge me another $60. I refused to pay and left. You don't treat patients like that! read more

We have been coming to Innovation Eye care for over 5 years. We have had great service over the years. Today's visit was not typical. The Optomap Retinal Exam is now $39 where it had always been apart of the visit. The contact fitting cost increased as well. Transparency is important to me so I can trust the service. Never mind the fact that we already spent $700 getting our yearly supply. You have 3 people sitting at the front desk telling clients they will deals that DO NOT exist, none of them know how operate the desk...one guy is literally reading a Sandman comic. Longtime patient, walked in today for my annual exam, last exam was 12/2020 - was told insurance wouldn't cover contact lense although it does and has for years - was also told I was getting an exam within a year yet there records showed 12/2010 and it is 1/22 - I didn't get my exam last year. My normal optometrist is great but the business side is horrible. Will go elsewhere and report to insurance company. read more

I have never had a bad experience with the staff or the doctors at Innovative Eyecare, but then again, I have only been going to Innovative since 1997, so maybe that's not long enough... I started going there when Innovative was in the mall and saw Dr. Laura Beck for years. She has not been available for the last few years, so I see whichever doc is available and I have been quite pleased. My daughter and son also go to Innovative and they are great with kids/teenagers. read more

Sadly Innovative Eyecare has lost my business. Giving two stars only because the optometrists are kind, knowledgeable and thorough. But they have undergone new management, and now charge even more for the computerized retinal scan. It used to be $25, and now is $39, and is not covered by insurance. The opticians are nothing more than high pressure sales people, who try to get you to pay nearly $1000 for two pairs of glasses. After sticking to what I originally came in for, new lenses in my old sunglasses frames, lo and behold, my progressive lenses were covered by my insurance and he acted like this was shocking to him and said my insurance must've made a mistake. Really? Insurance making a mistake IN the patients favor? The whole thing was a racket to get me to buy two pairs of overpriced glasses. Dealing with the shady opticians are enough for me to take my business elsewhere. read more

My first experience here was fine. Not impressed by the desk staff, but the actual eye doctor I met was helpful and professional. Second time around was very different. On the phone, the receptionist was less than helpful. Closer to hostile. I gave her all of my info and set an appointment date. On the scheduled day, I arrived early and was met by three, bored girls at the front desk gossiping. I had to interrupt to get them to help me. I gave my insurance and ID. The girl hesitated and then said I required additional paper work, which I had but she hadn't asked for. Again, she took her time in looking me up, only to say they no longer accepted my insurance. No apology, no alternate plan. Just handed me me stuff and went back to gabbing with her gal pals. I will not go here again. read more

I have been going to this office since 2014 at least, and I really love them. The office staff is always so kind and friendly, Dr. Thai is awesome and so great at explaining everything. She remembered me after not seeing me for a year and that is impressive to me. Everyone is always so happy in this office and that is so hard to find. I have never had to wait very long when I have an appointment. They sent me a copy of my prescription the next day when I asked for it on a Sunday and Donna even responded to me from home at night to tell me she would send it in the morning and first thing in the morning I got my copy! I'm giving this place a medium score only because the optometrist is excellent but it's a waste of time when the staff is so unprepared and unorganized. Walking into the appt when the insurance was clearly verified only to be told it wasn't. This happened twice already. Then my Partner had problems with the appt with scheduling. When appt was scheduled and even had a reminder then showing up and no appt existed. So unorganized. The physicians are excellent because they apologized but it sucks when your first greeting is such a mishap. read more

I have been going to this eye doctor for years and never had any problem. I liked the doctor and thought she was good. Today I arrived at my appt and was told there would be an additional $45 charge for a diagnostic procedure what had always been included in the past. I wasn't happy about it. I traveled over an hour for this appt and was upset that I was not told of the additional charge when I had made the appt. Staff was rude and I was asked to leave when I continued to complaining. They keep defending their position and arguing with me when I kept saying that I wanted to be examined and see the Dr. Collins. They said I could still be examined without the procedure and could have my eyes dilated but that would require 3 to 5 hours before my eyes would be back to normal. What happened next was surprising. The Dr came out and said I should leave. She didn't take me out of the area and talk to me. She didn't ask me privately if there was a specific medical issue before sending me on my way. I wasn't yelling or cussing. There were no other patients around just other staff. I told them they should be ashamed of their actions and left as they requested. I guess they couldn't understand how someone could not have a spare $45. Bad place. Drs., even eye doctors should care about their patients. read more

Dr. McQueen and his group used to be a wonderful eye clinic to go to. Our whole family has been going there for years. They helped my youngest daughter learn how to put her new contacts in and get over the fear of that process. They've worked with each one of us to get our eyes examined, get fitted for glasses and contacts, and overall eye care. I would say the docs at Innovative Eyecare are good. Dr. Pak is especially nice and helpful. BUT! Beware of the office staff! They are grumpy, they treat you like you're a bother, they don't smile at all, and they barely speak to you. Someone called while I was at the desk and asked if they took Medicare. The staff person said very bruskly' "No we don't." and hung up on the person. That was all she said to the caller. I myself had called earlier to followup on a matter they were checking into for me, and the staff person was very unfriendly in the phone. I told her how much I appreciated her help, and she just grunted.... Another staff person hung up after another call about Medicare and said (with me Standing right there), "Gee, don't you get it? We don't take Medicare!". They clearly have no desire to take care of their customers and would rather not have to be working in that job. It's a shame to see that Dr. McQueen's Innovative Eyecare has lost their vision for good customer service. read more

As a Medical Assistant, I am Very picky when it comes to choosing any type of doctor.. I went to Innovative Eyecare this past Saturday, due to recommendations of a coworker. It was super easy to make an appt and they had availability the same week. I saw Dr. Tekell who I believe is new to the practice, and she was extremely helpful and really took her time and made sure to explain things throroughly, she really puts you at ease and makes you feel comfortable. I Love that you can see the images of your eye and optic nerve, etc! The Dr gave me a free pair of trial contact lenses and told me to try them out for a week and see how they felt since it was a different brand than usual and she hoped they'd be more comfortable and cost effective than my current ones. I really like that she showed me the diff b/n my old Rx and new one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their frame selection!! Like a kid in a candy shop!! Coach, Kate Spade, Ray Ban, soooo many more to choose from!!! And I did not think the prices were very expensive, besides the Opticians are very helpful and considerate of your budget. the BEST part of all is how soon you can get your glasses! Most ppl with lower Rx than mine can have them same day but since I have practically coke bottle lenses, I expected a full week and a half or more... *drumroll* One and a half business days!! My jaw literally dropped when they called to let me know. You get a fancy cleaning kit free and everything. I did talk to them about the problems I had been having with the trial contacts and they were very attentive and even gave me advice, and another pair of trials without any hesitation/sigh/eyerolling or any type of body language that shows you may be an imposition as can happen in some Dr offices. I have been telling ALL of my friends & family about this place and I'm so happy as their patient. Highly recommend! As the new year recently began, I changed insurance companies and innovative eye care was the number one vision center recommended. I would most definitely recommend them to others as I had a wonderful experience. I called to set up a new patient appointment right after the new year(which is usually a hectic time for doctors) and was seen within 24hrs. Upon arrival, the receptionist immediately greeted me with my paperwork filled out already from the initial new patient phone call(10 minutes). The doctor herself was excellent and ensured I had a proper understanding of all that was discussed. All members of the staff I encountered were able to effectively assist me. Innovative Eyecare has a wide selection of glasses for all ages and I am very pleased with this eye center. read more

Basically been going here since it was in the Barton Creek Mall and it was only eye exams.. but I've recently been super impressed since their got their own shindig. The new facility is on william cannon. They take my insurance VSP super plus.. since Lenscrafters won't.. boo Eye Exams are easy to get in and get out.. new technology included.. like retina scans.. with VSP it comes out to around 45 dollars for whole thing. Contact trials are readily passed out as are free solution and such. super plus. Now since they have their own frame shop now.. wow .. they have better frames than every chain i've been in.. ie: (the crafters and masters). They have a year warranty. The selection is really decent. They even have Recycled Materials Green Frames.. sorta neat. I personally like that they have BCBG Max Azaria Frames.. They actually help you pick out your glasses and have some super nice recommendations.. out of all the frames I picked the most expensive one was 110 with the insurance.. I ended up getting Ted Baker frames for 54.. .50 for the lens with insurance and always walk out happy.. read more

She quickly checked my insurance coverage, told me what was covered, what was not. Walked me through the different options available for ordering. Fantastic selection of men's frames. That's not the best part. Cheapest selection of name brand male frames. That's the best part. The husband has been in the market for new frames, and has been hitting up stores to find some suitable selections. His complaint from all the previous stores has been "too expensive" or "no selection for guys." So I went along with him to visit Innovative Eyecare, highly recommended from Lindsay C. The floor staff was very helpful and kind. We basically kept to ourselves but one of the nice ladies would see what times of frames I was picking for Matt and offer us a handful of her suggestions. In the end, we ended up the perfect set of frames. I was anticipating shelling out a buttload of money, as they were Prada frames, but again, we were shocked at the price.
