I've been going to Buda Vision Source for years with great service until this past fall I ordered my 1 year supply of contacts. The order comes in. I go in & they hand me a 6 month supply stating the lady whom placed the order made a mistake. Okay, mistakes happen! So I pay again (she messed up my charge too) and I place another 6 month supply of contacts. I placed my order NOVEMBER 5. Today is JANUARY 2. It's been 2 months. I have called numerous occasions but they don't know how to answer the phone. At this point I'm wondering if they're still in business? I am a SAHM, but I guess I'll have to load everyone up in the car to go in person to resolve this issue again. Apparently the previous optometrist retired and hired someone else. Until the new people get the hang of how an office should work, don't waste your time. read more

Have been followed here 3 years. My husband and I go for routine eye visit only. He went today for his exam under my eye insurance. The optometrist said he had a concern that could lead to blindness and to come back in 6 weeks, instead of more appropriately referring to a Opthomologost. They did not make a diagnosis, and changed billing to Medicare Medical. Much more pricy. Also wanting to charge for wanting to keep same glasses with updated lenses. Poor communication, feels like a racket, and very upsetting to be charged fees without communicating why we can not use our good eye insurance. This was my first visit and while the doctor was great, I'm not impressed with the office staff. My husband and I both ordered glasses. We were told that due to Covid, it was taking 3-4 weeks to get glasses back from the lab. Today, 5 1/2 weeks later, my husbands glasses are in and mine are expected in 2 weeks. We left voicemails but didn't get a call back until we had someone at the appointment desk send a message. There was no communication once they had our money. Not impressed! Such a disappointment staff. They vouched the insurance covers it all, and urge me to sign the paper. Then threw a surprise at the ending of $130 fee that came out of nowhere. The front desk and manager were shady about it, I confronted them and said you told me it'd be $0, they were like well you have to pay the fee that is separated. They couldnt tell what/where this $130 came from.. Dishonest service, moved to other doctor and they were QUITE honest about the cost and allegedly said they were just trying to get your money using fees because insurance covers it all so they are trying to get people pay out of pocket for more earnings. Having just moved to Buda, I was looking to find a local place to have my yearly eye exam and get new glasses. My initial phone call was amazing! The man on the phone was helpful and nice and accommodating. I was already impressed! Second, my eye exam. Again, super friendly staff and doctors! The doctor was very thorough and took her time with me. I thought I'd try my hand at contacts this year and both the doctor and the assistant were very open to helping me make the right choice for me. They gave me some contacts to try out for a week to make sure I loved them before blowing my entire HSA monies on something that wasn't going to work for me and my lifestyle. Turns out the contacts weren't for me but when I went back in to pick out glasses and sunglasses they were over the top helpful in making sure I was well informed with cost and lens options. I moved to Buda recently and around the same time I decided to get Lasik surgery. I was pleased to discover that there was an optometrist within minutes of my new house. I've been to Dr. Benham for for both my pre-op and post-op consultations and I was blown away by the knowledge and professionalism Dr Benham displayed. He never once rushed me or made me think he had somewhere else to be. He answered all my questions and concerned patiently. The office staff was very courteous and accommodating. The office is very clean, offers complimentary beverages and has a great selection of shades! Oh and the selection of music was awesome! I will definitely be doing all of my future checkups here! read more

I saw Dr. Benham on February 18, 2014. The office staff is very friendly, the office is super clean, and Dr. Benham explained to me thoroughly the changes in my vision that are occurring naturally due to age. I am not new to glasses, but I was getting my 1st pair of bi-focals (ugh!) and so I had a lot of questions, all which were answered completely. I never felt rushed. The doctor has a great manner and seems to really enjoy what he does. I used a Groupon for my visit that was a flat price for an exam, frames, and lenses (up to a certain dollar amount) and this made the visit an excellent value. My only "complaint" would be the choice of frames. The frames in the affordable range (under $80) were nice looking but there weren't too many varieties to choose from. I would have liked to have had a broader selection of frames under $50, especially considering the options these days for online sources for low cost frames. If I had not been using the Groupon, I still would have gone to Buda Vision Source for my exam but probably would have taken my prescription and shopped elsewhere for cheaper frames. I took my teenage son in that same day for his exam and glasses and he is very happy. It was his first pair of glasses and the staff was very patient with all of his questions. I called Buda Vision Source ahead of time with questions regarding my groupon and to make an appointment for both my husband and I. Each time I talked to a different person and each time they were incredibly courteous and took time to answer my questions. Before I walked into the office I had a great impression of them. The office was clean, and service was stellar as expected. I had a female eye doctor and I am upset I can't remember her name but my husband met the next day with Dr. Brenham and this was his first eye appointment in 10 years and he had a great experience as well. I live in SW Austin and although this is not the closest location for us I would not mind making a little further drive to come here for further exams/issues. read more

Super disappointed with my overall experience. Went there due to change of insurance that did not cover previous optometrist. Eye exam and "ordering new glasses" was simple and completed professionally. Paid an additional 495.00 over insurance allowance for upgrades (transition, blue lenses, progressive) and was told glasses would take about 3 weeks (due to Covid). It's been 6 weeks and I've gotten different excuse from everyone I've spoken to: at end of three weeks I was told frames would be in within a few days and they could switch out my lenses. No! I ordered new lenses and frames! At 4 weeks I was told everything was in transit and should be ready in a few days. At beginning of 5 weeks, I was told lenses were lost in transit and rush re-order would be placed. Also that frames should be in by next week, even though I had been told they were already in. Now end of 5 weeks and I was told lenses would be "re-ordered" now and everything should be ready in 3 weeks. Sorry, taking my business elsewhere. Would suggest others do the same,unless you're OK with glasses taking 9 weeks+ to get to you. read more

I had my first appointment her with Dr Benham today and I am pretty impressed. I feel like he really listened to my concerns and offered me several options. He did not pressure me in any way and told me the realistic pros and cons of each option. What he said really explained a lot and other Dr.'s in the past have not even bothered. So a huge plus one for the Dr. But the office staff was pretty great too. This office has a much of the latest equipment and is set up well. It is clean and organized, which is a little strange to notice, unless you have been somewhere that is not! The front office people were professional but very friendly as well. I had tons of questions about frames, lenses, and options and they were very helpful. They even helped me pick out some pretty great frames and gave me honest opinions when asked. I also think they have a pretty darn good selection of frames, and carry some good brands. I have not picked up the final product just yet but I do not expect to be disappointed.
