Great martinis, classy vibe, and a fun surprise performance I stopped by Martinis in San Francisco while looking for a chill spot to grab a good drink and I'm so glad I did. The vibe is intimate and relaxed, with live performances in the back that make it feel like a hidden gem. As a dirty martini lover, I was impressed by the variety on their cocktail list from their famous Lemon Drop to a solid Sidecar. I ordered a Filthy Gin Martini; my first round was a little watered down, but the bartender remade it for me without hesitation, and the second one was perfect , strong, balanced, and smooth. I didn't even need another after that one. Prices were reasonable too about $13-14 per martini and the pours were generous. The highlight of the night was when a few guests (who turned out to be performers) sang an impromptu number at the end of the evening -- it gave the place real charm and personality. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt grown and comfortable. My only tiny wish? I'd love a few small snacks or bites to pair with the drinks -- but that's just the foodie in me talking. Overall, a great experience. I'll definitely be back for another round.

I love this place! They have any martini you could think of. There is always something going on in the back room whether it is jazz or karaoke. Fun place for some live music and chatting with friends.

Lovely piano bar and good drinks! I believe that there's different seating times for the room in the back in the piano, where people are able to come, sit around, enjoy their drinks, and listen to others play/sing and play/sing themselves! Many customers were talented singers the night that I went, and there are many regulars and professional musicians that bring a fun vibe. I tried their Lychee Martini drink, which was slightly sweet and refreshing. There was minimal alcoholic taste and a good, strong lychee taste. The atmosphere was lively and cozy, making it a good spot for drinks with friends or a casual night out!

I have found my new favorite spot! It's a perfect mix between a dive bar + great Gatsby (in my opinion). Staff was fast and kind even during a busy time. The live music was sooo nice!! & the drinks were tasty. ( Dirty + Sour Apple ) will come back to try more. I wish I found this place sooner!

this was my first time going to martuni's! i would absolutely come back here. i got the specialty candy cane martini which tasted good. the ambiance and vibe is awesome. live pianist and people performing karaoke. it was really fun to go around the holidays. we were sitting at a table and had someone serving us. it was really busy so it did take a bit to get a drink.

Came to this bar on a night out while visiting SF and was very pleased by the speakeasy vibes, drink selection, and piano bar. I like sweeter and more uncommon drinks and liquors so I was excited to try the Creamsicle (vanilla vodka, orange, triple sec) and Cherry Blossom (black cherry rum, lemon, sparkling wine) martinis. The creamsicle martini was very good, though I would have liked it to be a little creamier instead of mostly orange flavored. The cherry martini, however, was not good at all. It kind of tasted like a black cherry white claw instead of a martini. The taste alone wouldn't have been that much of a problem, but we soon noticed that our drink started to clump up and aggregate. This led to an unpleasant texture and made us unsure of the drink since we didn't think that rum should interact like that with the other ingredients in the cocktail. Though the drink was unfortunate, I was still very happy with the atmosphere and fun of getting to hear people perform at the piano bar. I would still like to go back another time and maybe just try a new drink.

I absolutely loved my experience here. The decor was elevated and the piano room was very fun! My martini was perfect. Great spot for a date night or GNO. Can't wait to go back!

Loved my first Martuni's experience! Came with a friend on a Friday night around 9 and it was so lively inside -- we found some standing room in the back and ended up staying way longer than expected just listening to the tunes! Joe is a gem of a piano player and you're in for a treat of disney tunes and other old school classics with some crazy good singers in the crowd. Drinks were also strong and smooth. Highly recommend coming!

My first time going to a piano bar and Martuni's was a wonderful place to visit during a night out. I came on a friday night and it was packed with groups of people throughout. Dim interior with plenty of seating + booths in the first room; the bar had plenty of space to order as well. Service was quick considering the number of orders they had. Their martinis are fantastic: we got the watermelon martini which came with a huge slice of watermelon and the lemon drop martini which had a really nice citrus flavor. There was a live piano player who played + sang lots of classics. Seemed like a lot of the audience were regulars too -- some of them seemed to know the player well and even went up to sing with him as well. Overall, the vibes were fantastic: everyone was singing along and enjoying the show. definitely seems like a local favorite!

Martuni's was a lot of fun! First time at a piano bar and it was a really good time. The drinks were delicious, I loved the spicy pineapple and the service was quick and efficient. We got there around 8:30 and the piano room opened around 8:45 and was completely filled by 9:15. The songs and performers leaned very theater like, very easy to sing along. Great place for a night out with friends!

Came here after dinner at Zuni's to end my night with some martinis. It was a Sunday at around 10, and there was a decent crowd coming in and out. There's two sections, the area where they have live music and a sit down bar area, and we stayed at the bar. I got the lychee martini and it hit the spot. Lychee garnish might've been my favorite part. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!!

Great spot for a really delicious martini. They have live music sometimes and an open mic night. It's a great spot for a date. It's a great spot to just hang out by the bar and have a martini. Very delicious.

What steps do I need to take to play on the piano just to perform live?

There is a man that plays the piano each night. Just walk up to him and ask if you can play. They might say no, but occasionally, they say yes. You can also call ahead and ask a bartender.

Hi~ Do have a classical or contemporary piano player on Saturdays that starts around 6pm? We're hoping to pop by for early drinks. Thank you!

Hello! I was wondering if you have an opening for an hour or two for me to pop in and perform on your piano? I sound like Lady Gaga, and play the piano like Carole King. I'd do it for free tonight if possible! I'm in town today/tomorrow.

    Absolutely!!

    Is this a gay bar?

Everyone is welcome here, though yes there is a strong LGBT vibe. I am not gay and I have always enjoyed Martuni's. It's a very classy and fun scene. If you have a problem with gay people, by all means please stay home. Forever.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

As I'm doing so, I hear the guard rudely speaking to them and telling them to leave. I advised the man that the club was still open at the moment (they had about 5 mins left) and that we actually were heading out then. I also told him that he didn't have to speak to my friends like that - after he had just been joking around with them moments before. Instead of taking accountability, he immediately got an attitude with me and stated that he didn't care about that and it was time to go. Another female guard then popped up randomly and essentially told me to "fix my delivery" and that the man was her brother. To which I replied, that they were both ultimately in the wrong. There were only two service staff; we could tell they were working hard but they definitely needed more help. We made two trips to the bar and it took about 15-20 minutes to get service. Drinks were decent. A larger group arrived to the left of us, and about 20 minutes after they arrived, the male service worker told us we had to move cause our spot was reserved. Mind you, we'd been there for almost two hours at this point and nobody had mentioned anything about our spot being reserved, and there was no sign holder indicating it either. It was also advertised as a "no cover" event, so curious to know how reservations were even made. He told us we could move over to the wall; which we discovered was right next to the restrooms and the line of users. Not cool. We then noticed that the larger group had spread out and taken our spot; were we supposed to believe these were the supposed "reservation" holders and not just your friends? Overall, just another mediocre bar that caters to the people they know. Not much concern for new customers, so we have no interest in returning or recommending to anyone.
