Just factor in 6% SF Mandate + sales tax of almost 9% added to your bill.

My friend suggested popping in here for cocktails before dinner for a "speak-easy" experience. It's actually connected to the infamous Nightbird but has its own incognito entrance around the corner on Linden St. The atmosphere and vibe is a dimly lit, intimate setting with room for maybe 15 people if even that. Their website and cocktail menu actually says they cannot accommodate parties larger than four which is fair for the tiny space here. There is more standing room than seating. The cocktails are quite fancy and unique but are wonderfully enjoyable. I savored my honeydew highball, but as more people piled in after 8, it was getting a little too cozy for us- so one and done for us. Bartenders are super busy but were friendly and attentive. Drinks are pretty pricey here. The average $20 cocktail price + the current "SF Mandate" of 6% + regular tax (almost 9%) comes out to be the price of a decent meal in Chinatown. I'd definitely swing by here again before dinner and definitely before I try Nightbird!

This place is hard to notice at night. The entrance is on a side street. Once inside, it's very small, but cozy. The vibes are intimate and cute. I'd come as a pair as there aren't a lot of seating. Maybe for post date night drinks? The service was really great and the bartenders make really tasty drinks.

What a fun discovery this was! Tucked away in Hayes Valley, Linden Room feels like a true speakeasy with its intimate interior, hushed, cozy vibe, and great cocktails. The inside truly is tiny - there were about a dozen people in the bar when we arrived, and it felt packed! But it was very cozy, dimly lit, and with chill, vibey music greeting us as we entered. We were quickly served, and hovered at the standing area around the bar. We ordered the Ralphie Boy, Flor de Luna, and a negroni - all were absolutely delicious in their own way, though I think we all agreed the Ralphie Boy came out on top. While the menu isn't extensive, I get the strong impression based on how our drinks turned out that every single one is excellent. We didn't stay long as we had dinner plans to jet off to, but I am already looking forward to the next time we can have an extended stay here. If you're looking for the true speakeasy vibe and are okay with the limited space/seating, then treat yourself to Linden Room!

Great semi-hidden date night spot. It's intimate, cozy, and dark. Strong unique drinks and great service in a speakeasy-like atmosphere attached to the Michelin Guide (no star) Nightbird restaurant. Great location on a side street in busy Hayes Valley. You walk in and feel like you're not in Hayes!

I stopped by after a performance the Herbst Theater. It's a great after-theater hangout because by then the crowd has thinned out. 4.3: Ralphie Boy: Rye, mead, orchard amaro, lemon, citrus merengue foam topping. A little to astringent. Removed one star because they add a surcharge, and don't even mention what it is on the menu.

I love it here! This is a speakeasy. The mixologists are amazing! The drinks are mixed to perfection. Great place to go for a drink prior to going out for the evening. The room is very cozy and does not seat a lot of people. And the service is really good. Hope to return soon!

Linden Room is one of my favorite spots in the city. It's a tiny place so ideal to go for a quiet and classy date night vibe. They have a unique cocktail selection, and everything I've tried has been top-notch with the perfect balance of flavors. At any cocktail bar my usual order is the classic manhattan, and they happened to make one of the best manhattans I've had! Service-wise, the bartenders have always been sweet and attentive. And, something I typically don't comment on - probably the best "bar bathrooms" in the city - includes Aesop hand wash, cotton hand towels, and scented candle.

Linden Room is a great cocktail bar with a true speakeasy feel. It's my second favorite spot in Hayes Valley, right behind Smuggler's Cove. The cocktails are well done and consistent. They don't take reservations, so if you're coming on a weekend, you'll want to arrive early. It's worth the effort.

4.5 STARS Who remembers when Hayes Valley was just a freeway exit? I was still learning my ABCs but it's nothing like I remember it to be. Tech and gentrification came, and it became one of the hottest neighborhoods in the city. If you're looking for a poppin' spot to drink and eat...you'll find it in Hayes Valley. But, if you're not...and just want a quiet, low-key spot to get your classy drank on... Linden Room. One of the reviews I've slept on, they're a speakeasy from Nightbird that opened in 2016. Still as solid today as my first visit back then. * No rezzies, walk-in only so highly recommend making this your first stop of the night. * No parties over 4. Best to come with another person max. * Eight seats with comfy stools that will support a big booty...natural or not. * Solid seasonal craft cocktails ($17-$20) that are STRONG so you get your monies worth. * Bartender(s) that know their sh*t. * Dim, ambient lighting so what filter? AND, when the drunchies hit afterwards, you have plenty of solid options within walking distance to fit any budget. My vote is for the squirting dumplings down the block. ;)

This spot is less than a 10min walk from my spot and I just now got to experience it after almost a year. The interior is so small and it is mostly standing - there are about 8 seats so if you are one of the lucky ones, yay! Otherwise big parties are probably not ideal and you should be prepared to stand. Interior has a lit up bar shelf and 2 kind bartenders. The drinks are seasonal and when I went, it was floral heavy which isn't my palette - but it was still nonetheless a well crafted cocktail! No reservations either - walk in first come first serve type spot!

I hate to be drawing attention to this place because I want to keep it a secret but one of the best speakeasy experiences I have had. Small area, cozy spaces to seat 8 people. First come first serve, no reservations. The cocktails are phenomenal! The bartenders know their stuff. The drink menu's unique & of quality ingredients. Great intimate spot to start off your night. Ralphie boy & This Thyme are my favorite. Cheers!

Such a cute speakeasy! Definitely not a place for large gatherings. I was shocked by how small the bar was, they max party size out at 4. I believe there was only 8 chairs in the whole bar, so my party of 4 was standing for a while watching like a hawk for any open seating. Drinks are extremely strong, I would recommend the harvest moon -- had lovely citrusy notes.

Specials the night we came in. The Gin drink I had was the cool breeze! SO GOOD

Linden room has hit my top 5 in the city. Wow this place is amazing! The cool breeze was so good. I am a Gin drinker and loved it. I would love to start then end my night here. This trip it was the 2nd stop but was such a nice experience for sure! So happy to have made it in. Service it top notch! The place is small but clean and so well kept.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

I think in many ways, Blind Pig just fell a little flat. I would like to say that the service here was amazing. A bartender who sat with you to talk about the menu, the process, and your experience very passionately and intently.  However, I think that the bar program is a little unrefined. Every drink had 10,000 ingredients, and most of them did not work together. If the drink did work together, you just tasted nothing because everything blended together and you couldn't taste any special or fun ingredients.  Unfortunately, I don't think this spot is worth looking for.

Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service. Overall, highly highly recommend checking this place out for a fun night out or post-dinner treat! Glad we made the decision to stop in!
