Christmas baby birthday dinner
Erica S.

I recently celebrated my Christmas Day birthday dinner here on the back patio. A perfect evening with amazing cuisine and great service! The patio truly encompasses island with lush tropical plants all around. A truly romantic experience with small lamps on the tables. The service was impeccable with any needed assistance from surrounding team members. We will definitely dine in again upon our next visit to Key West!

Had dinner here to celebrate my friend's birthday. Their menu doesn't indicate any GF items so had to ask the server. He seemed fairly knowledgeable about celiac/GF. We shared a cheese tray which was delicious. I opted for sides - mashed potatoes and asparagus with burgundy sauce as my entree. I did order a key lime martini but the rim had what looked to be graham cracker on it. The server replaced it without anything on the rim just to be sure. I also had a key lime crème brûlée for dessert. The server bought out something special for the birthday girl too. Everything was pretty good - we sat outside which was beautiful out but there were some insects that we saw on the patio floor.

Forgot the name, but a lavender gin martini

We enjoyed our Christmas Day dinner here at Martin's in Key West! The restaurant has a nice vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar. For dinner, I had one of their specials, Lobster risotto. It was good! Creamy, well seasoned, and with a surprisingly healthy amount of lobster in it. My only critique of it is that the lobster was a little chewy. My family had the yellowtail Capri and chicken breast. The yellowtail had a nice sauce on it that was very tasty. I didn't try any of the chicken breast but my family member reported that it lacked a little flavor in the entire dish. Our martini's were very well made and balanced. My favorite was the lavender gin martini that I had. The service was friendly, albeit a little slow. But, it was Christmas so I'm sure they had been busy all night.

Schnitzel Strips

I've come here a few times and it's a solid place to eat downtown! I've come for happy hour and regular dinner time and have enjoyed the food each time. The drinks I feel are poured strong, so that's nice too! My favorite thing to order is the schnitzel strips. They're lightly fried and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Caesar salad last time I went and didn't love it. Not a lot of dressing and the tomatoes threw me off (wasn't expecting that in a Caesar). I've never sat inside, always outside but it's nice, there's a cover so it's not like the sun is hitting you directly.

Scallops Florentino

Tapas happy hour is well worth the stop. Scallops Florentino and the Potato soup were excellent. Vivian was attentive and Max was magic behind the bar. Nice seating in an airy well lit setting.

Really good Tapas and excellent waitstaff. Martini was a little heavy on the vermouth, but the food more than made up for it.

Non English speaker who forgot a simple request for mayo so we could try to choke down our chicken sandwich. Food was uniquely terrible. Chicken sandwich was small for $21 and I swear it was frozen and microwaved prior to bringing out to the table. It was so dry and obviously over microwaved, but we did not say anything we just asked for mayo to try to chock it down, but the mayo never came. This is an overpriced venue that cannot even get bar food right. For the price, food quality, lackluster service, too loud music, and obstructed view, do yourself a favor and go to the Tiki Bar at the Galleon for picture perfect sunsets, followed by dinner on the marina. Spent over 2 weeks here this time and have each June for the past 20. Last year I met my Son and Daughter in law there for drinks but did not eat. Tonight is our last night here and I wanted to do something different with my girlfriend. Should have taken my own advice and stayed at the Galleon. I am in food service so tipped for food I could not each but as a KW regular I will vote with my feet and not return . Below is the sunset view from the Galleon.

Quite scenic and also very bustling (a number of party boats went by including a schooner that sailed past and fired off a friendly "shot"). HTF has a good wine list and cocktail menu. The Tequila Old Fashioned was very good, smoky with the round, big cube. For starters, we tried the Seared Catch triple-tail small plate which was excellent and the Vegetable Risotto salad, which was hearty, yet light. For mains we tried Grilled Key West Pink Shrimp because I wanted to try local catch. It was very good, served on top of creamy grits with Manchego cheese. We also tried the Crispy Mojo Chicken, which was good. Our server was very good. All-in-all, if you're looking for an upscale experience next to the water and sunsets if you it properly, plus great food and drink, Hot Tin Roof is a perfect choice.

My husband got the shellfish combo. They said the lobster was perfectly cooked, and he is currently inhaling the snow crab. Legs, and I can't even see the shrimp on the plate anymore. LOL so apparently he must have liked that... We set on the inside bar where the AC was. There was 3 bartenders for the tiny little bar, not much interaction from any of them.
