Zoom in right top corner- long hair stuck

We went to this restaurant for Thanksgiving at noon and we sit outside (we had a dog). It was raining and they push us to the outside and went I sit down I was all wet. I decide not to say anything and brushed off. We felt a little weird since the begging as service was not bad but they were no good either. Was a strange all over interaction. So we order food and when the coconut shrimp appetizer came, after the first bite we found a long hair stuck in the fried batter of on of them. I decide to inspect the other ones and we found 2 more with hair stuck!!! We felt disgusted by the quality and talk to the sever and told her that this is not what we expect and to cancel all our order. She didn't even call the manger or knew how to deal with the situation, I guess she was just embarrassed but it ways. I would no recommend this place at all. If you zoom in on the photo and see in the right top corner you would see one of the hair sticking out. We didn't pulled all to show the server. It was really long.

Great service and well prepared food! We got the breakfast free with our room and couldn't recommend it more!

Jen is a bad mommy! She has a heavy hand and a light personality. The woman knows people and she knows how to pour a stiffy.

And I have come back here several times this time we brought some friends. The food again was amazing. I went off the wall and ordered cauliflower steak. It actually is pretty good but I like cauliflower. I did order it with grilled shrimp. Next time I think I'll go back to seafood because I do like my seafood :-) The other thing I noticed tonight they had Pilar rum. That's my upgrade over the mountain rum. Peggy had the wet salad, Janice has already tuna nachos. That's what I'm ordering next time it looks awesome. Matt had the garlic shrimp that looks great too. There were no leftovers. Another outstanding night at yellowfin bar and kitchen.

Yellowfin Breakfast* Eggs (cooked however you like) White toast (others available) Bacon (sausage is another option) Cheesy potatoes

The breakfast lasts from 8:00-11:00am. They also have a cafe that has more of to go items. We arrived around 9:30am. The reason I state that is because I was looking to order a croissant with my breakfast & they were out. Minus 1 star. Food: The food was decent as well as my latte. I ordered their main breakfast (pictured). A little overpriced but so is almost everything in Key West. I do have to say their cheesy potatoes that come with the main breakfast are delicious! Service: Service was okay. My husband is unable to have added sugar at this time so he tries to stick to protein & veggie options. He opted for the omelet (not pictured) which he liked. He wanted a smoothie but asked the waitress if their whey protein had any extra sugar in it & instead of offering to go see she just said she didn't know & it comes out of a bin so she wouldn't even be able to read on the label. Fortunately my husband isn't allergic to sugar, but hopefully they take any serious allergies into consideration for any future guests. Minus 1 star. Ambience: It was a nice area on the patio right next to the marina. Chairs were comfortable. The only complaint is lack of enough shade if you want to sit outside. There were plenty of guests who were trying to pull tables & umbrellas from other areas of the patio to try to get a decent spot. But inside was air conditioned & had nice views also. Overall: If you are a guest in the hotel, it is worth a try. If not, there are better meal options closer to downtown.

We stayed at the resort and it was vacation life. Great staff and food. We enjoyed lunch and breakfast at the Yellowfin Bar & Kitchen. Everyone is so friendly from front desk to housekeeping. Beautiful hotel and restaurant and would return to stay and dine the next time we are in Key West!

Fresh caught Wahoo with plantains and steamed veggies. I know because we caught it.

We are staying here, and these are some amazing people and chefs. Very attentive and very friendly staff. You can sit outside or inside. Hang out and watch the boats in the Marina come in.

I stayed here a few nights and tried a few different breakfast items! Food was amazing ! I loved their meat lovers omelette! Their crab egg Benedict's were amazing! It was stuffed with a lot of crab meat. Staff was cool and actually remembered me lol! Gorgeous setting and view too! Even if your not staying here worth a cozy breakfast!!

The bar items are likewise inspired. Their Key Lime Cartel was an awesome combination of Coconut Rum, Key Lime Liqueur, and other ingredients rimmed with Toasted Coconut. I tried several of their crustacean dishes and they were superb. I'm not much for the piscines as I am for the crustaceans; but they have several items from both types! The desserts are exceptional, especially the Sweet Corn Cake with Blueberry Compote and the Strawberry, Chocolate,Coconut Bread Pudding; both served with Vanilla Ice Cream. Service was prompt, efficient and personal; yet casual as befitting the vibe here in the Key West Area. The servers and busers were smokin' hot as well--not surprising given the location. Definitely a must-do if you're in the Key West/Stock Island area!

I think we did nothing wrong. We are professionals, polite, we are 4 professors working for the university in different field, well, one in food safety. We are with kids and the kids behave extremely well, making no noise. But one thing is, yes, we are Asian. Ana Maria rolls her eyes so many times. I feel extremely bad to be treated the most racist way in my life. The kids get water without a cap. We never get refills for water for the entire dinner. She refuses to separate the bills for us at the end, or is it a restaurant wide policy? Yes, we spend ~500 dollars on the food. And it is mandatory to pay close to 100 dollars for a tip, and I understand it because we are party of 8. And We are excited to try everything. We understand it might be a busy day for restaurant, even though we did not get food for a long time but we did not complain at all. But by the end of the day, she says we need space and a table for the others, so they kick us out right after paying the bill. We move out, but no one is using our table. We feel being treated very rudely, so we report to the manager. She is very nice and apologizes to us and waives some fees equal to the tips. But the waitress never shows up or apologizes. I understand she might have a tough day, but this is very unprofessional to do this or highly suspicious to be racist. I want to say, we are professionals, and this won't be the end of the story. We will do everything to make sure the restaurant pays the price, and we have the ability to do it. Update: I reduced one more star for the manager's reply. The service was clearly rude. The manager said they support their team and offered an excuse. This was clearly not an apology. If the waitress was just rushed or needed the work done earlier, we would understand, but the way they treated people was beyond rude. We could see how differently she treated us compared to others. Let's add more details: we were a party of 8. They put us in the middle of the hallway. She kept complaining that we were in her way (it was not our fault!!!!!) She explained the oysters were 12 for a dozen (reminder, she did not mean the price; it was 48 dollars), but she made it confusing or assumed we did not understand what a dozen means. Btw, the CDC is warning about the oyster salmonella outbreak in 22 states, including FL. Unfortunately, I have been having diarrhea for the past two days. Will do a checkup and update everyone.

The service was not just disappointing, it was completely unprofessional and left us wondering how this restaurant is even operating at this level. First, we ordered a clam chowder the moment we sat down. This is a basic appetizer, something any restaurant should be able to bring out. Shockingly, it didn't arrive until after we finished all of our entrées. I had to ask twice about it, and the explanation we received was, "We don't prepare the ingredients ahead of time, so it takes longer." I was honestly speechless. Clam chowder is a standard menu item, how does a kitchen not have basic prep done? By the time it finally arrived, it was no longer an appetizer but an afterthought. Second, before all of our dishes were even served, the staff came and removed every piece of tableware from our table.(included a little spoon we got for my kid, I have to ask them twice to get it back from their kitchen) We were literally left without utensils while still waiting for food, especially the clam chowder that was delayed. When we asked for utensils again, it took multiple reminders before someone finally brought us a few spoons. The lack of coordination and basic common sense was shocking. Third, we were a group of five adults and one child under 1.5 years old. At checkout, we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity fee, yet the restaurant provided zero service for the child. We asked for warm water to heat a baby bottle and were told, "We only have cold water here." That response alone was unbelievable. We even brought our own child seat. Worse, the server repeatedly carried plates over our child's head, and even after several reminders, continued doing so until the very last dish was served. The lack of awareness and safety consideration was truly concerning. To be specific, our server was a female staff member with an accent, and throughout the entire meal, it felt like she had zero intention of providing proper service. There was no attentiveness, no willingness to help, and absolutely no sense of responsibility that would justify a mandatory 20% service fee. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Thirsty Mermaid displayed poor communication, lack of professionalism, and a complete disregard for basic hospitality standards. We will never return, and I strongly advise other families especially those with young children, to avoid this restaurant entirely.

This place does not mess around. Seatings are nightly at 6:00 and 8:00. No children, no kids menu, and no parties larger than six without the owner's consent. Cancel within 24 hours and it's a $25 fee per person. The local who tipped us off while we were at Kermit's for key lime truly did us a solid. Sebastian was our server and did a great job making sure we got what we ordered (in more ways than one). From the amuse-bouche of whipped farmer's cheese with scallion and parsley on toasted crostini (which I will absolutely be trying to replicate at home), to the beef stroganoff, grouper, deviled eggs topped with scallops, lobster stuffed shrimp, and the must-order shrimp mango toast, every single dish/appetizer/entree was impeccable. And yes, the key lime pie absolutely delivered. We even took another slice back to our room for later that night, alongside a to-go slice from Kermit's, so we could make a truly final call. To eliminate any bias, we blindfolded ourselves for a taste test. The boys declared Kermit's the winner, while the ladies, including my son, gave a slight edge to Red Shoe, citing the crust and lighter texture. We sampled several key lime pies from every place we ate at that offered key lime but Kermit's and Red Shoe offer hands down the best versions. A very close call, and a delicious way to end the debate.
