The rooftop bar is really nice. To have a cocktail and watch the sunset is perfect. If you get there early you can order a drink downstairs and bring it up. Lots of seating but get there early for the prime sunset seats.
Nothing better than sitting out looking out over the ocean having dinner except having a great meal and we did last night here. Started with Caesar salad that was simply amazing. White anchovies, fresh home dressing, the cheese freshly grated, the salad practically melted in your mouth. I had the crab cakes. They were chocked full if fresh crab, light and delicious served with a guacamole salad. My friend had the fresh fish, it was off the chart delicious. Served with lobster hash and fresh asparagus. The server was attentive without being overbearing. Great ambiance, nice place to sit and relax.

Food and drinks werent bad, and service was just ok. But the lobster quesadilla, which was highlighted in many reviews, was a great disappointment. One shouldnt expect an overstuffed lobster plate (for that, go to DJ Clam Shack), but 3 pitiful pieces in just one of the quesadillas is really a rip off. According to our waiter those are "measured" and "probably fell to one side while cutting". Pretty lame. For the final price tag, there at least a dozen other better options in town. Ps. If you are coming to watch the sunset, also a waste. The pier in front of the patio gets so packed you actually cant see anything. Its like paying front row seats to end up seating in the back. Not the restaurant's fault, of course, but buyer beware!
We had dinner here last night 7/16 for the sunset. The food and the service were fantastic. The atmosphere was great also. We had 2 orders of past primavera which was just delicious and an order of shrimp and lobster over linguini which was fantastic as well. For desert a slice of peanut butter pie & an espresso creme brûlée. Both were just superb 5 stars here. Well done all the way.

Best advice, book a reservation in time to catch the sunset. People gather at the railing across from the restaurant to catch it. It's just like in Santorini when everyone breaks out in applause when the final sun sets below the horizon. The food and the service was fantastic. Bathrooms were okay. Would go back.

Food Quality: DELICIOUS AND AMAZING. Overlooking the items I'll discuss below, it's worth the trip to visit for the food. My partner had the grouper and I had the Mahi- both were the star meals of our trip. SUNSET DISCLAIMER: I did a little research before I trip looking for a good place to have a sunset dinner, this place seemed to be it- so I made the reservation for an outside table well in advance. We were told that if you make reservations online, it's not for the extra patio that sits on the water side, and if we wanted a table in the direct waterside patio, I'd have to cancel my reservation at another host stand and come back and wait to try and be seated. We opted to still in our reserved table which was on the lower patio- I didn't know there was an upstairs. If you want to actually SEE THE SUNSET, you need to be on the water or upstairs, otherwise all you get is a wall of people blocking the view (as pictured). It was kind of upsetting, so ... now you know what to request. Overall, the fact that the food was extremely amazing and became the star of the evening saved the experience.
I wanted to love this place but this fell really short for me. I had a Pina Colada to drink, the drinks are strong which is a plus I would say as a lot of restaurants skimp on it. For an appetizer, like typical Marylanders we ordered the crab cakes. Actually really enjoyed this dish and the guac that came garnished. For my main, I have the truffle crusted grouper. You couldn't take the truffle at all but the fish was very good and flaky. Overpriced for what it was however. The lobster hash was a miss, super greasy undercooked potatoes and very tough lobster. I did really love the green beans however. We considered dessert but were told there were no dessert menus since they had such few options, and that was true. It wasn't horrible but not great either.
Food was wonderful. We loved the lobster quesadillas and my entree was delicious. Service was terrible. Our server seemed super uninterested in us. Meh. The restaurant seemed nice. A little hard to locate at night. It looked nicer in pictures. They were closing up shop while we were still eating and they didn't close for at least another house and a half.
We made reservations 2 weeks before going, definitely need reservations. Sat outside on the patio. Gorgeous view of the water and sunset. We split the chopped salad, very fresh! My tuna appetizer was fantastic and seared perfectly. The picture of the yellowtail did not do it justice. Stuffed with crabmeat, broccolini and potatoes on the side. Delicious. I would recommend this place for the view and beautiful plating of fantastic food!
We came here for the view, but we'd come back for the exceptional service we recieved from our server. Food came out super quickly and it was delicious! I got strawberry daiquiris which were SO tasty for a hot day watching the sunset. My favorite was our Caesar salad with giant seasoned shrimp! My partner even agreed it was super satisfying!

Nice breakfast spot by the water! Hard to beat the views here! While the food is pretty good, it is a little overpriced for how much you get. The service was okay, not bad but not noticeably good either. My biggest complaint is the limited menu options but was able to find something at the end of the day. read more
We sat outside and had a lovely view of a Celebrity Cruise ship right at sunset. Ughhh! The outdoor setting was very nice, clean, and airy. It was beautiful outside on this 26th day of November. The service was speedy and the servers were friendly and efficient. The Caesar salad was probably the best I have ever had. The Cuban sandwich was delicious, it had pickled onions and tomatoes on it which was a little weird, but tasty. My husband had a really good Monte Cristo sandwich which he really liked. He said it was a very original take on the Monte Cristo sandwich. My son in law had a " one of the best burgers I've had in a long time." I would definitely recommend Bistro 245. read more

Can't get a better view! We went at sunset and it was breathtaking. The food was delicious and the service was good. Everything was cooked to perfection. Even the kids fish was really good. We almost passed on the key lime pie and glad we didn't because it is very amazing. Looking forward to returning soon. read more

Outdoor seating available with a sunset view, the two of us were sat immediately with no reservation at dinner time (6PM). The ahi tuna was some of the best we've had. We had the snapper and grouper entrees, both were great. Our server was friendly and attentive. And you can't go wrong with key lime pie for dessert. The key lime frozen cocktail was also a hit! read more

Really great place for breakfast while in key west! It's located right on the waterfront in key west off of Malory square. It's kind of connected to margaritaville resort. Pricing is average but service , covid cdc guidelines and food were all great. We got a table right near the water and the server was attentive but let us be to our meal. The buttermilk pancakes were delicious! So fresh and fluffy. Served with fresh berries and hot Syrup. My boyfriend loved his eggs and hash brown meal . The bacon was maple and perfectly cooked to his liking. The drinks were strong and cold. read more

Perfect place for watching the sunset. The spots on the pier below get snatched up fast, so if you're looking to enjoy the moment and have dinner, no better place than the lofted bar upstairs. The open air, fresh drinks, and fast food service make this a great place to hang out. "Island Gazpacho": tangy, fresh and delicious! Perfect for a hot Florida day. "Lobster Quesadilla": our winner for the dinner, it comes with heart chunks of lobster and ooey gooey cheese. Can't miss this one! "Shrimp and Lobster Fettucine": we were blown away by the size of the shrimps. The lobster and shrimp were both totally fresh, cooked to perfection in juicy buttery goodness. Would've liked a little more spice but otherwise fabulous. read more

This past weekend was my first visit to Key West and Bistro 245! It was the perfect experience thanks to my server, Dea! I was seated next to the water and had an amazing view of the sunset. I LOVED my Key Lime Colada and Garlic Shrimp flatbread. I will recommend this spot to all of my friends!!! read more

Our waiter MAX is hugely responsible for this glowing review. He made honest and excellent dinner recommendations and serviced our table excellently. This place is right a long the water so you get the watch the yachts pull in. The hostesses were kind and amazing as well. You park in the Opal resort parking garage and walk to the restaurant. It's a bit of a walk from the parking garage to the restaurant up little stairs, concrete and brick so I wouldn't recommend heels but you could make it if you really wanted to wear heels here. It's dressier, but still key west casual. When we come back we will be begging for Max to be our waiter again! Lobster Mac & Cheese 9/10 -a little greasy but beautiful presentation and great, balanced taste Yellowfin Snapper 10/10 -amazing buttery texture Chopped Bistro Salad 5/10 -I should have ordered sea food(max did not recommend this I just wanted a salad) Coconut Cake 10/10 -if I could just eat the pudding in it I would Peanut Butter Pie 9/10 -amazing presentation, gourmet peanut butter taste, DENSE read more

Nice view staff wasn't too friendly but the salad was good ordered the Grilled Shrimp & Quinoa except they forgot the quinoa once delivered to the table nobody checked back to see how it was. But even without the quinoa it was very good. I won't recommend just cause the service and not getting the order right but the salad was good anyway. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat while shopping in the area. Curtis was a great host, very pleasant and very helpful with the menu. My wife had the Chopped Bistro Salad with blackened chicken. She said it was excellent and at a very reasonable price she would order it again without hesitation! I really enjoyed the Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer. It too was fantastic! The freshest Ahi I have had in a long time. Would definitely order again! read more
Used to be margaritaville- which desperately needed to go. Bistro 245 exceeded my expectations. Excellent service, beautiful views of the sunset and Mallory square. I got the mahi which was the best mahi I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly- exactly how I liked it. I wish this new restaurant the best of luck! First of all, location, location, location! Wow. Sitting on the covered deck adjacent to Mallory Square at the tip of Key West, the ambiance can't be beat. The aqua sea, the view for miles, along with comfortable seating, great service, and delicious food, all converge to delight this lunchtime diner. The chopped salad with grouper added was delicious--especially with extra dressing which arrived quickly after requested. Hubby enjoyed the seared ahi tuna with avocado. We were amazed to find no wait and thoroughly enjoyed our lunchtime break from the bustling streets of downtown Key West. read more
You can not beat this spot for lunch- outside in the shade with a 180 degree view of the water. We visited at a time when the Covid pandemic was over enough for us to travel but the cruises hadn't yet started back up. This restaurant is in the areas where the cruise ships typically dock but it was empty when we visited. Maybe it was unusually peaceful. The food was good too- I had a salad with grilled grouper and a glass of French rose- very yummy, 'on vacation' and hit the spot. read more

What a fabulous experience we had at Bistro 245 in Key West. First of all, the location was everything! It's located on the boardwalk and is a perfect spot for a sunset view. We ate outside specifically for this reason. We started the night, as per our waiter's suggestion, with a key lime colada. So fun! Sort of like lime sherbet with rum in it. Next, we shared the lobster quesadilla- O.M.G. The lobster was generous and it was also filled with lots of mangoes and tortilla chips, cilantro, etc; we loved it. It would be perfect to also eat as your entree. I had the ahi tuna salad, which had a great sesame dressing. Th tuna was perfectly cooked along the edges -and yet rare. It was like butter in your mouth. My partner got the pasta with lobster and shrimp. There was plenty of seafood in the dish to share, and the buttery sauce was delicious. As a fun game on our trip, we order a pice of key lime pie at every restaurant and then rate them. This one is my favorite because it is very light... almost to the point of being a mousse. read more
This was a place we looked up and decide to give a try, the staff was very friendly. Mix drinks were weak, but enjoyed some wine. The Garlic Shrimp Flat bread and Surf-n-Turf was cooked really well! The views during dinner were amazing, perfect spot for a sunset and dinner date! read more

This is the spot to watch the perfect sunset and spend the afternoon. Great people watching and socializing at the casual rooftop. If you prefer something less casual, the lower level offers the same menu. The rooftop is of course the best view in Key West. The staff is friendly and offers great service. If you want a snack and cocktails, definitely order the Lobster Mac n cheese -so delicious and flavorful. read more

My wife and I made a day trip to Key West. We picked this place, because it was near Mallory Square and it had a waterfront view, it's also a good place to people watch. The food was very good and the service was good. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the lobster quesadillas. They didn't have the best selection of beers, but it was a hot day and the beer was cold, so I didn't mind. read more
Looking for a romantic date night or the perfect place to see the beautiful sunset? Bistro 245 has an amazing waterfront view and plentiful outdoor seating. My Mojito was great. Made with fresh ingredients. The server was a bit slow and seemed to forget about our table, but she was friendly. There is also chill live music to top it off. Only downside was the slow service. read more
