Came here for the holidays with family'. As 95% of them slept in, wife and I came over as we heard great things. It did not disappoint! Ambiance: It's located right near the marine - beach with gorgeous views and a large parking spot nearby. There is a nearby gift shop which is very convenient. My husband and I decided to try Cuban Coffee Queen while in Key West. We heard good things about it and wanted to see the hype. I will say it was very touristy. The customer service was lackluster, and there was a bit of a wait. There were a few benches to sit on while you wait, but they all were preoccupied by other patrons or locals. The only coffee I drink when I'm in Key West. It's so good. You can have it without any sugar. I usually get the iced coffee as the ice cubes are made out of coffee so it never dilutes. There's sandwiches or egg and cheese is to die for in the morning on a huge Cuban roll. Nice employees and don't forget to get your frequent coffee card for a free one with multiple purchases. It's been nearly a decade since I've been here. Over said decade, I've never forgotten about Cuban Coffee Queen because we had such great experiences here! I felt the need to update my review to reflect my most recent experience. And if I'm being honest, today's visit was underwhelming. Not much has changed here (other than the prices). The hole-in-the-wall storefront is a coffee shack of high voltage, Cuban caffeinated goodness. Counter service wasn't very warm or friendly today. I normally drink my coffee black. But if I'm having the likes of Cuban or Vietnamese coffee, I don't mind the extra sweetness. So I got mine with light cream and sugar. On a hot and humid summer day, the drink didn't come out cold. It needed more ice. From the first sip to the last, it didn't have the same satisfying feeling I remember. We eventually got more ice from another business after walking around for 10 minutes. It helped, but like I said, it didn't have that addicting flavor I remember so vividly. Review updates are important. Today was a 3 star experience, though I'm leaving it at a 4 to reflect all my positive visits from a long time ago. read more

Strong and sweet, that Cafe Con Leche was. I sipped it watching a chicken walk by. Only at Cuban Coffee Queen in Key West can you enjoy the company of a chicken while drinking superb Cuban coffee. The Jose Marti was a hearty and meaty sandwich, a good, solid Cuban pork sandwich. We sat, drank, and ate on a nearby bench in the Key West spring sun, as customers kept lining up at Cuban Coffee Queen for their great coffee and eats. The restaurant presents as little more than a shack, and it's more of a to-go place without any formal seating. Best place to get REAL Cuban coffee in all of Key West! The iced coffee is my favorite. It's STRONG coffee, so if you like weaker brews this may not be your cup of joe. Fantastic!!! I had heard about this place before during Covid when every small business in the nation was struggling. I somehow saw an IG post asking for support and since I love a good coffee I was down to help. Fast forward to last week, I was able to go in person and their coffee is delicious!! If you've never had an authentic Cuban espresso, be prepared to be dazzled. I loved it but knew to just take a sip. Coffee Queen is an accurate representation of what the locals voted best coffee in Key West. An unassuming little spot among loading docks has a line at open @ 630am and doesn't ever seem to disappear. Staff are friendly and quick with a smile and your cup and/or food. The coffee is robust and smooth, can be sweetened if you want but it's perfect as it is for my taste. Prices are average but worth a visit if you have the time or are in the area. We've been multiple times during our visit and will be going there until we leave. Best we've had in the keys yet. read more

Busy location for sandwiches and smoothies but too hot for coffee today. Breakfast sandwiches are running about $10-$13. Smoothies are $11, Cold brews are $6.25, and coffee are anywhere from $4-$7. A little pricey but the going rate around here. There is no indoor seating and there is limited seating outside the store. Staff are friendly and the service is efficient. If you don't stop here for the coffee definitely make an effort to stop by for a photo op at the mural on the back side of the building. read more

I had a double espresso while I waited for a BLT to go. I sat in the covered outdoor patio on one of the brightly painted picnic tables. It was fairly quiet, just a family with dog at one table and a single customer at another. Everything was colorful and pretty, the tables, the bar on the back, the signs listing their offerings, and the tee shirts which I liked enough to purchase though I don't normally pay businesses for their advertising. Even the coffee bags were beautiful. Waiter/bartender was nice, but I think I stressed the tee shirt guy / coffee roaster a bit, unable to decide among the shirts. Yes they do roast right there and you can watch the process from the table. The espresso was excellent, with robust coffee aromas, pronounced crema on top, and no unpleasant bitterness. In truth more of a Cubano than espresso because of the large size, probably 5 ounces. The BLT was good, with plenty of bacon, crisp lettuce, a decent tomato, a touch of mayonnaise on good French style bread, grilled. Many coffee beverages offered, but I'm a purist and just like plain black. Breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, most with a Cuban flair. (Guava, chorizo, Havana beef, ...) Lunch plates too. All sounded good but I had other plans and left after a short stop. read more

The guys said their coffee was good. They recommended the best strongest coffee. It was not as strong as Starbucks espresso. Not good. I got the iced turmeric coffee. It was also watered down. I can taste the tumeric, not so much the coffee. Horrible coffee but at least I can say I tried it. They have good merch though. read more

After more than a decade of being a Cuban Coffee Queen customer and I STILL LOVE IT ! I was in town recently staying at The Marker and you can't be any closer to Cuban Coffee Queen; it was my husbands job to wake up and go for his VERY EARLY walk and before returning to the hotel, he stops here for my caffeine fix. Cafe Con Leche; and they do have dairy-free milk options. I don't really get anything else but my husband loves trying different things here. As I was writing this review, I asked him what his favorite drink here was and he said it was an easy choice, "anything with ice" because he loves that they use coffee to make the ice cubes. They can melt and your coffee is never diluted with water. I don't really eat food here but my kids love getting Pan Cubano (pressed cuban bread with butter); simple but delicious. My hubby likes the Key Wester (pressed cuban bread with eggs, cheese and ham) but I think you can get other proteins instead of ham. They also serve lunch sandwiches like Cuban Mix and other stuff. And just know, the coffee is excellent and they roast their own coffees at the other location in town. I stopped by this Cuban Coffee Queen location every day during our stayWe tried the strawberry twist smoothie, iced coffee, and cortadito. The strawberry smoothie was good -- pretty standard. Prices here are slightly higher compared to other spots in the area. Surprisingly, the coffee wasn't as good as I expected. I also visited a random Cuban restaurant in Key Largo, the only place open near our hotel, and their cortadito was addictive -- and much cheaper than here. Maybe Cuban Coffee Queen is more about the hype, or maybe it's the Key West vibe and wall art. Still, it's a cool place to visit, especially since this location sits right by the harbor. Any and every itinerary and recommended list of places to go in Key West, Cuban Coffee Queen always made an appearance. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. So much so, I had to come back a second time in my 4 days in Key West. It is a quaint little walk up window tucked away near the bay of Key West. It has a beautiful mural and a cute island vibes all around the area, with the marina steps away and some iconic photo spots for anyone needing their next social media hit you cannot miss this place. Both times we waited less than 5 minutes for our coffee's which were nicely sealed in a cute cup and an even cuter straw. I highly recommend their Carmel coffee because it was to die for, the perfect ratio of sweet and acidic. Not to mention how attentive and kind the gentleman working the window was! I loved that I could order a coffee and walk around the area as a tourist (as you can most of the island) looking at everything! I suggest if you are ubering to have them drop you off here to start your day because it is a short distance to so many popular restaurants, sight sees, and just hidden gems! I stopped by here in the morning to grab some coffee for the family back at the hotel. It is a paid lot, but I was there so early I was able to get a spot within 20 feet of the stand and so just parked and got my order really quick to go. The service was friendly and quick as there was no one else in line. Since it is a cart/truck, there was no inside or place to sit that I could see. I suppose most people find a spot to sit down in this highly toursity area to enjoy their treat, but I went straight back to the hotel. I got a vanilla latte iced of course and it was a good size. The cup was colorful and the black and yellow straw makes it very Instagramable. The cuban coffee itself was strong and very good, not too bitter. The mixture ratio was spot on! read more

Their Iced Cafe Con Lèche with Vanilla was probably the best Iced Coffee I've ever had. They freeze their coffee into ice cubes so your coffee never gets watered down. Husband ordered a Cortadtio each day, and had to buy a few bags of their dark roast to be able to recreate this drink at home. He's been working at perfecting it ever since. Their Cuban breakfast sandwiches and burritos were also There are four locations in Key West, we didn't get to go to all of them but the one on Front Street was our favorite. It's in an old brick building that they turned into a little shopping center. The pros were the the workers here were the most fun and we found their coffee tasted a little better than some of the other locations. Also, it's near a parking garage, within walking distance to water views + Duval St, and there are clean bathrooms in this building.
