Filets came on the wrong plates by temperature. Wedge was ok since dressing was great, but not like a wedge, some wet looking ice berg on a plate. Other items $600 worth and just ok. Burrata appetizer had apple chunks instead of a blacked nectarine as described.The Brussel sprouts which came with the chicken were soggy. The shrimp pasta was too bacon forward. The ceasar salad had soggy lettuce. Was sat in the bar area but not allowed to order the bar bites. Server Edwardo abruptly stated "no" on many occasions when asked for my friend's to spit our tab for my birthday gift. We heard the server say aloud, "who do they think they are," to another server. We came to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary and it was lovely. It's hard to find where to catch the boat and we called to find out. Since it was later at night it was dark and there was no one to ask. The signage was not very clear to us. The boat ride was pleasant and quick. We sat outside and although it was hot it was cooler than during the day. The food was delicious and good portions overall. The drinks were very tasty and refreshing. The inside of the restaurant had a fishy smell which was overwhelming when I went inside to use the bathroom but it was nice and cool for a refresher. This is a second review. I was here three years ago, and it was amazing enough that I came back. A lot of times a resturaunt won't live up to the standards of the first time you went, but for this place, it did. I was able to get the 7:45 reservation. For this time of the year and the time of the sunset, this is the top time to get. We went to board the little princess at 7:45, and took the 7 minute water taxi there. Once we got there, we sat right next to the water with the best possible view and of the sunset. The weather was a little hazy compared to last time, but it was still great. Our server was great and we started with a few drinks. She got the Key Lime martini and I had a beer. We did not receive bread this time, and honestly, we have been eating less than three years ago so I don't miss the extra carbs. We shared the burrata app, and it was wonderful. But the star of the show... I had been dreaming of the Shrimp carbonara for three years, and it didn't disappoint! She got the lobster risotto, and she loved it. We finished the meal with a slice of the espresso cheesecake, and the Peanutbutter mousse cake. The espresso cheesecake was small, but the size was perfect for the rich taste. The Peanutbutter mousse cake was light and not overly sweet. We had went to little Pearl the night before, so I knew this would be the second dinner in two nights that was around $300 after tip. This was worth every dollar. Little Pearl was average. They tried to hard to be too fancy and for the amount of food you get, the bottoms line is it's just not worth it. But here, I'll come back every-time I can because nothing beats the view, the ambiance, and the experience of eating basically on the beach, under the light of the torches as you watch the sunset with the person you love. read more

Beautiful oceanfront restaurant! We went for our first night with a large group and sat inside. It's romantic and so fun to get to the restaurant via a boat. It took a bit to get our drinks, but my spicy Paloma was delicious. The Key West pinks was a great tasty appetizer, and the seared grouper was pretty good too though interesting with the chorizo. The staff went right to seating us with a beautiful view of the water! (I may have cried a little) I really have the most caring husband ever! This restaurant is gorgeous, and the food was really good. We loved the atmosphere and overall had a great meal. The only reason I'm giving it fewer stars is because of how a pretty serious mistake was handled. One person in our group ordered a non-alcoholic mocktail, then ordered a second one and even confirmed with the waitress that it would also be non-alcoholic. Unfortunately, it came out with alcohol in it. The scary part is that she's allergic to alcohol, so this wasn't just a small mix-up. The manager's only solution was to take the drink off the bill. While we appreciated that, we expected a little more concern or effort to make things right considering how serious the mistake was. The food and the restaurant itself were great, but the way this situation was handled definitely left a bad impression. read more

Came here to celebrate a birthday brunch for a girlfriend of mine. We were a table of seven. The experience is fun, you take the ferry out and the view is fabulous. The food wasn't really worth it though and was underwhelming. We had some espresso martinis and with the baileys added they were great. I also tried the key lime martini and didn't enjoy it much, I've had better around town. Also the color was very interesting, usually they're like cream colored this one was what the girls called "Saint Patrick's day" green. The menu is small but I ended up ordering the Latitudes Caesar as my meal with blacked grouper on top. The salad with the fish came out to $42. Two out of the seven meals came out wrong. Definitely a dining experience. You'll need to take the complimentary ferry over (unless you're staying at the resort). (And hey -- if you're staying at the resort... wanna buy me a drink?) Anyway, the ferry has an outdoor section and a very well air-conditioned interior section as well. It's just a few minutes over to the Sunset Key dock, but it is very nice to get out on the water and have a sense of arrival. (Note: the return trip is nice as well. I lucked into getting back to the dock just as they were loading up for a run back to Key West, but you may have to wait a bit between trips.) Perhaps this is heretical, but I recommend sitting inside the dining room. A table on the sand may sound romantic, but you're risking bugs, sand in your shoes, heat/rain/various weather items. The view from the dining room is still spectacular and the sunset just as special. The food was very good, if not quite excellent. I had a lobster and crab cake appetizer with a whiskey corn sauce. The sauce had a stronger taste than the seafood. My entree was a grouper with a spicy black bean sauce with yucca fries. That was all well and good, but it also came with a big log of chorizo, which put the dish off balance to me and made it lean very much to the heavy side. Service was pleasant and efficient, just what you would expect at a restaurant of this ilk. read more

Eating at latitudes was a fun experience. We had a little boat ride out to the island. However, the weather was not conducive of sitting outside, which was a little disappointing. When we first showed up, they gave us a table that had a couple of lounge chairs that were very uncomfortable, but our server was quick to accommodate us and move us to a different table. This year we were able to grab a last minute breakfast reservation and once again I was so impressed with the whole experience. The boat ride over, coming within touching distance of the cruise ship in port was smooth and so easy. Once we got on the island, you are escorted to the restaurant. I asked for outdoor seating, yes even I know July in Florida! I would not do it for lunch as I would ask for patio then, but for breakfast and dinner it is the only way to truly experience the majestic views. Our waiter, Alex S, was polite and patient and his recommendation of the eggs Benedict was amazing. We never felt rushed or fast served. On the contrary we were told to relax and enjoy ourselves, I guess one of the pleasures of the early morning breakfast crew! REMEMBER THIS: that time of reservation is your departure for your ferry that takes your to the restaurant. If your late 2 minutes you will be left so make sure you get there at least 10-15 minutes before. Nice ferry ride to Latitudes!! You will be greeted by waiters and manager and make you decide where to sit (sit inside if you want to be relaxed and have a romantic evening) Food is good but comparing with what you have in main land plates seem overpriced. But overall good food nothing to brag about, didnt even take photos of it. Now here is the reason of my THREE STARS! Service Service Service - we were attended by a young man Alex great guy but did not know the menu and also did not offer us any suggestions. I even asked him how long he has been doing this and apparently for quite some time. :/ ok so during our meal asked for an additional glass of wine and did not hear from him until after we ate our food. The Violet Haze cocktail was fantastic, loved the unique and refreshing flavor profile. We shared the Blue Crab Tostada, which was recommended by our server. It was just okay in my opinion, the crab itself was decent, but the portion was small for the price and the flavors didn't quite wow me. For my entrée, I had the Caesar Salad with honey chipotle chicken. As a self-proclaimed Caesar salad critic, I wasn't overly impressed with the salad itself, but the chicken was flavorful and the portion sizes for both our meals were satisfying. I also felt the pricing was fair compared to other Key West spots that charge more for much less. The ambiance is what really makes Latitudes shine. We made reservations for a Saturday lunch fairly last minute and were happy they still had availability. My birthday dinner here was a disappointment. I really don't understand what the hype is about. The best part is the view from the dock and the restaurant since it is on an island (Sunset Key) that you have to take a ferry to. We arrived for the ferry an hour prior to our reservation in hopes that we could start by having drinks at the bar - nope, not allowed. But we enjoyed the sunset from the dock anyways. The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed. The service is so so and the food is mid at best. There are much better dining options around Key West. I wouldn't waste my funds eating here again in the future. The consensus at the table for our group of 5 was that it was either overcooked or undercooked (such as with the "roasted" beets that were cold), and the flavors needed refinement. The service could have been better if the runner learned fine dining etiquette and didn't fling our plates on the table so hard and fast. Overall, I gave it two stars simply for the atmosphere.
