Just be prepared for the current reservation policy -- there is a $50 reservation fee per person, and you need to arrive on time for your scheduled boat. Definitely something to plan ahead for. The food was very good. I had the Benedict with salmon, and the smoked salmon was absolutely amazing -- probably the best I've ever had! My husband doesn't eat pork, so his menu options were a little more limited, and I do wish they had more seafood choices for breakfast. I had high expectations for this restaurant especially since they have limited seating / hard to get a reservation. Boat ride: not too bad and it was great that they left on time. I will start by saying that their menu was almost Ruth Chris prices so I expected the same in terms of service, ambience and food. Food: Food was ok. I wouldn't be able to tell if I ate this at Olive Garden or here. With prices that are similar to Capital Grille etc, I expected to be wow-ed by the food and I wasn't. Ambience: staff wasn't dressed as uniformly as I would have expected (ie wearing sneakers, some shirts untucked and sloppy looking) Glass windows had smears on it, pepper shaker was sticky as you would expect from a roadside diner, chairs were scratched up, ceiling fans looked like it needed to be replaced, menu looked like it got wet from water but they still gave it to us instead of discarding it. Our bill was in the $200 range without wine so I expected better. I regret coming here and spending that much on such a mediocre place. Visited Key West for the weekend and took the ferry to the latitudes private island to dine on the beach during their sunset hour. This was truly a ravishing experience, indulging in the cuisine and flavorful taste of the keys. I truly enjoyed the service provided but I was a bit disappointed about the seating arrangement at first. I understood in a sense because the hostess had explain though request for outdoor seating , preferred seating arrangements are given to guests booked months in advance. However , we were still able to get a decent seating to watch the sunset while sipping champagne. For my sunset dinner I had the Caesar salad due to seafood allergies and braised ribs. Both were delicious . Most of all what I loved about this restaurant is the beauty to escape to a private island , dine while watching the sunset . While in Key West we decided on a breakfast on Sunset Key. We caught the short shuttle boat ride over and were greeted by a warm smiling hostess who sat us outside per our request. While it was warm and humid the setting was stunning. All of us ordered different items and all thoroughly enjoyed. Prices were comparable to like kind offerings on the mainland of Key West. Since it was later at night it was dark and there was no one to ask. The signage was not very clear to us. The boat ride was pleasant and quick. We sat outside and although it was hot it was cooler than during the day. The food was delicious and good portions overall. The drinks were very tasty and refreshing. The inside of the restaurant had a fishy smell which was overwhelming when I went inside to use the bathroom but it was nice and cool for a refresher. This is a second review. I was here three years ago, and it was amazing enough that I came back. A lot of times a resturaunt won't live up to the standards of the first time you went, but for this place, it did. I was able to get the 7:45 reservation. For this time of the year and the time of the sunset, this is the top time to get. We went to board the little princess at 7:45, and took the 7 minute water taxi there. Once we got there, we sat right next to the water with the best possible view and of the sunset. The weather was a little hazy compared to last time, but it was still great. Our server was great and we started with a few drinks. She got the Key Lime martini and I had a beer. We did not receive bread this time, and honestly, we have been eating less than three years ago so I don't miss the extra carbs. We shared the burrata app, and it was wonderful. But the star of the show... I had been dreaming of the Shrimp carbonara for three years, and it didn't disappoint! She got the lobster risotto, and she loved it. We finished the meal with a slice of the espresso cheesecake, and the Peanutbutter mousse cake. The espresso cheesecake was small, but the size was perfect for the rich taste. The Peanutbutter mousse cake was light and not overly sweet. We had went to little Pearl the night before, so I knew this would be the second dinner in two nights that was around $300 after tip. This was worth every dollar. Little Pearl was average. They tried to hard to be too fancy and for the amount of food you get, the bottoms line is it's just not worth it. But here, I'll come back every-time I can because nothing beats the view, the ambiance, and the experience of eating basically on the beach, under the light of the torches as you watch the sunset with the person you love. read more

Beautiful oceanfront restaurant! We went for our first night with a large group and sat inside. It's romantic and so fun to get to the restaurant via a boat. It took a bit to get our drinks, but my spicy Paloma was delicious. The Key West pinks was a great tasty appetizer, and the seared grouper was pretty good too though interesting with the chorizo. I wish that I could've gave less than one star! We spent over $500 at this venue and we wanted to walk on the beach and offered money to walk on the beach. We were denied which is OK because it's a private island. We then decided to sit at the restaurant where we had previous reservations for lunch and proceeded to have drinks at the bar and we were then told by management that we needed to finish our drinks ans take the next ferry out and we were no longer welcome to not only have drinks but also we are not welcome to stay at all in the city of the island. The server was appalled by the management because she was concerned it would affect her tip based on the fact that we were the only people in the venue and the Manager clearly was having an ego trip. He then instead of coming himself made the staff tell us that we needed to take the next ferry back to Key West. This was the most appalling place in all Key West please do not go. HORRIBLE management. We even were considering renting a room for the evening to enjoy the island but based on the management experience and the lack of transparency and honesty, we decided we do not want to stay or spend money further at somewhere that is the least hospitable place in the United States. Came over 1800 miles and made a reservation 2 months prior only to have it canceled with no explanation or at least one that made no sense. Came here to celebrate a birthday brunch for a girlfriend of mine. We were a table of seven. The experience is fun, you take the ferry out and the view is fabulous. The food wasn't really worth it though and was underwhelming. We had some espresso martinis and with the baileys added they were great. I also tried the key lime martini and didn't enjoy it much, I've had better around town. Also the color was very interesting, usually they're like cream colored this one was what the girls called "Saint Patrick's day" green. The menu is small but I ended up ordering the Latitudes Caesar as my meal with blacked grouper on top. The salad with the fish came out to $42. Two out of the seven meals came out wrong. Definitely a dining experience. You'll need to take the complimentary ferry over (unless you're staying at the resort). (And hey -- if you're staying at the resort... wanna buy me a drink?) Anyway, the ferry has an outdoor section and a very well air-conditioned interior section as well. It's just a few minutes over to the Sunset Key dock, but it is very nice to get out on the water and have a sense of arrival. (Note: the return trip is nice as well. I lucked into getting back to the dock just as they were loading up for a run back to Key West, but you may have to wait a bit between trips.) Perhaps this is heretical, but I recommend sitting inside the dining room. A table on the sand may sound romantic, but you're risking bugs, sand in your shoes, heat/rain/various weather items. The view from the dining room is still spectacular and the sunset just as special. The food was very good, if not quite excellent. I had a lobster and crab cake appetizer with a whiskey corn sauce. The sauce had a stronger taste than the seafood. My entree was a grouper with a spicy black bean sauce with yucca fries. That was all well and good, but it also came with a big log of chorizo, which put the dish off balance to me and made it lean very much to the heavy side. We made reservations for a Saturday lunch fairly last minute and were happy they still had availability.
