We recently returned to Latitudes for the second time, and unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to our first. From the moment we checked in for the boat transfer, the experience felt off. The staff lacked the warmth and hospitality you'd expect from a place of this caliber. That tone continued with the hostess, and things didn't improve once we were seated. As a party of two, we were given a table that felt more like an afterthought--disappointing, especially when the ambiance and setting are such a big part of why people come here. The food was good, but not particularly memorable this time around. What stood out more was the service--our server was inattentive, and overall the experience felt disconnected rather than relaxed and enjoyable. We went to Lattudes for lunch March 3rd. It is always fun to take a boat to a restaurant. The ferry to Sunset Island was on time and the crew was fabulous. The waiter came to our table promptly to take our drink order. He answered gluten free menu questions for my fiancee. Unfortunately he did not get my appetizer order correct. I ordered the cerviche, not lobster bisque. So I watched my fiancee eat while I waited over 20 minutes for my appetizer. Both of our appetizers were delicious. Hey, mistakes happen. Our entrees came after over 45 minutes. I wanted yellowtail snapper, but they were out of it so they substituted grouper. The grouper did not pair well with the sauce, but it was okay. My fiancée ordered the steak medium. it came well done. Zero pink even in the center. We sent it back to get what she ordered. 25 minutes later her medium steak arrived, perfectly cooked. I was done eating my entree way before her steak arrived. Sorry, but eating appetizers and entrees separately is not what I expect from a restaurant that is supposed to be highly rated. Our waiter was not attentive, rarely at our table. I will not mention his name, perhaps he is new and not experienced. I heard from others that the food was excellent, but the service was sub-par. I rarely post negative reviews, and it's possible that the lunch crew is their "second string." I think people should be aware that Lattitudes for lunch may not live up to your expectation. read more

Victor made sure all of needs were take care of. His recommendation for the Stone crab was on-point. It was a wonderful way to spend our 1st Anniversary dinner. Lovely boat ride over to the waterfront restaurant. The walk in was lush with beautiful art. The staff went right to seating us with a beautiful view of the water! (I may have cried a little) I really have the most caring husband ever! Eating at latitudes was a fun experience. We had a little boat ride out to the island. However, the weather was not conducive of sitting outside, which was a little disappointing. When we first showed up, they gave us a table that had a couple of lounge chairs that were very uncomfortable, but our server was quick to accommodate us and move us to a different table. Came here to celebrate a birthday brunch for a girlfriend of mine. We were a table of seven. The experience is fun, you take the ferry out and the view is fabulous. The food wasn't really worth it though and was underwhelming. We had some espresso martinis and with the baileys added they were great. I also tried the key lime martini and didn't enjoy it much, I've had better around town. Also the color was very interesting, usually they're like cream colored this one was what the girls called "Saint Patrick's day" green. The menu is small but I ended up ordering the Latitudes Caesar as my meal with blacked grouper on top. The salad with the fish came out to $42. Two out of the seven meals came out wrong. Definitely a dining experience. You'll need to take the complimentary ferry over (unless you're staying at the resort). (And hey -- if you're staying at the resort... wanna buy me a drink?) Anyway, the ferry has an outdoor section and a very well air-conditioned interior section as well. It's just a few minutes over to the Sunset Key dock, but it is very nice to get out on the water and have a sense of arrival. (Note: the return trip is nice as well. I lucked into getting back to the dock just as they were loading up for a run back to Key West, but you may have to wait a bit between trips.) Perhaps this is heretical, but I recommend sitting inside the dining room. A table on the sand may sound romantic, but you're risking bugs, sand in your shoes, heat/rain/various weather items. The view from the dining room is still spectacular and the sunset just as special. The food was very good, if not quite excellent. I had a lobster and crab cake appetizer with a whiskey corn sauce. The sauce had a stronger taste than the seafood. My entree was a grouper with a spicy black bean sauce with yucca fries. That was all well and good, but it also came with a big log of chorizo, which put the dish off balance to me and made it lean very much to the heavy side. If your late 2 minutes you will be left so make sure you get there at least 10-15 minutes before. Nice ferry ride to Latitudes!! You will be greeted by waiters and manager and make you decide where to sit (sit inside if you want to be relaxed and have a romantic evening) Food is good but comparing with what you have in main land plates seem overpriced. Service Service Service - we were attended by a young man Alex great guy but did not know the menu and also did not offer us any suggestions. I even asked him how long he has been doing this and apparently for quite some time. :/ ok so during our meal asked for an additional glass of wine and did not hear from him until after we ate our food. We made reservations for a Saturday lunch fairly last minute and were happy they still had availability. We booked Latitudes for Valentine's Day expecting a high-end, special experience. Unfortunately, it fell well short--especially at $185 per person. The preset Valentine's menu (appetizer, entrée, dessert for $185pp) was not disclosed during the online reservation process. That lack of transparency was disappointing from the start. Appetizers were the highlight--both were very good, and the crab cake was excellent. After that, it went downhill. The grouper was overcooked and dry. The lobster and shrimp fettuccine had great flavor but was extremely skimpy--very little lobster and just three small shrimp. Dessert looked nice, but the chocolate-covered strawberries were made with unripe, flavorless berries. From a service standpoint, this is where things really missed the mark--especially for a restaurant positioned as "high-end." The experience begins with the boat ride over, and the host checking guests in was not welcoming. Additionally, despite having a reservation time that coincided with sunset, we were seated inside while multiple outdoor tables remained open. It seemed like a missed opportunity to prioritize seating guests with sunset reservations accordingly. After dinner, we sat at the bar for 10 minutes without any acknowledgment from the bartender and eventually left. One final frustration--the suggested tip amounts were calculated on the total including tax, rather than the pre-tax subtotal. Suggested gratuities should be based on the pre-tax amount, especially at this price point. The setting is beautiful, but that alone doesn't justify the cost. We were on the 4:45pm ferry and it is was a beautiful pre sunset cruise over watching the catamarans and sailboats making their way out to watch the sunset. It is kind of like arriving on Fantasy Island. Everyone gets off the boat and makes their way to the hostess where you are immediately seated. Your table preference is given in order of how far in advance your reservation was made. We had a beautiful 2 top outside for our Anniversary dinner. Our server was very attentive and reminded us to take our time and soak in the evening. She was very good at ensuring that the drinks, ordering our food, etc were paced out and not rushed. Embrace this! Enjoy the view and your company. She was kind enough to take our photo with the sunset and water in the background as well. Thank you! We enjoyed red wine which we selected from their wine book. I saw others with some beautiful cocktails and fun drinks so there are lots of options! We started with appetizers which included the Roasted Beets and the Tuna Poke. The roasted beets had a fantastic spicy goat cheese with a bit of pistachio crumble that was just right. The apple foam on top was unique and a delicious topper to the beets. The tuna poke was flavorful with coconut rice, avocado, wonton and more. For entrees we had the Pan Seared Yellowtail Snapper and my husband had the Seared Grouper. We both loved our entrees but thought that if we return we would do several appetizers instead.
