The peel and eat shrimp is never a disappointment and the food is great, however their happy hour has changed quite a bit. We come here every time we visit. This place used to have one of the best happy hours in Key West with so many options and now very minimal. There is a bar inside and outside with plenty of seating for large or small groups. This time we sat at a booth inside and the server never came so we decided to move to the bar, which had better service.

3.5 stars. Super hot in Key West and went looking for a cool place to have lunch. Alonzo's is in the historic seaport district - lovely location. Although not air conditioned (open air) the fans were going and it was comfortable. I started with their coconut pineapple mojito - it was ok but I really couldn't taste any rum at all. My coconut shrimp (small bite appetizer) and the chili sauce were delicious! Hubs enjoyed his ahi tuna bowl - very fresh. Our waitress was attentive and helpful.

This was our first trip to Key West, Florida. We were in search of seafood for lunch, especially fresh oysters on the half shell. We were not disappointed. Absolutely the best I've ever had! My wife, not an oyster fan settled for the coconut shrimp - she gave me one to sample- wow, it was So good. The service was outstanding! Our waitress and another employee were friendly, made good suggestions and engaged in conversations with us. They made us feel like regulars. The restaurant was clean open and comfortable. We enjoyed everything about Alonzo's!

9:19pm and I was told they are closing early due to repairs

Came here for the first time recommended by the Marriott hotel and was told they were closing early due to repairs. Very unprofessional to close 41 minutes early and your website says you close at 10pm. Needless to say I came with my family from California to try this and this was a very poor experience.

Since my first time 2008, Alonzo's is my favorite restaurant on the waterfront docks. Their happy hour is the best deal. my poke bowl was fresh and delicious! I'll be back again.

Alonzo's Oyster Bar will always hold a special place in my heart. I first came here about two years ago on one of my very first dates with the love of my life, and the experience was unforgettable. Since then, I've returned again and again--and every single visit has been just as phenomenal. The food is always fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in Key West, and the service has never been anything short of exceptional. Most recently, I brought my entire family visiting from Wisconsin, and they were blown away. From start to finish, the dinner was incredible, and our waitress went above and beyond to make the evening feel special. Alonzo's has become not just a restaurant for me, but a tradition--one that I look forward to sharing with loved ones every time I'm in Key West. If you want amazing seafood, warm hospitality, and a memorable dining experience, this is the place.

Bang Bang Shrimp tacos were excellent $9 at Happy Hour

Excellent spot for happy hour while out-n-about shopping in the downtown area. They have a gorgeous view of the docks, multimillion $$$ Yachts, and there is a Tarpon feeding area as well. FYI - feeding time is at 4pm. We were greeted and promptly seated. Our server, Sabina, was very friendly and efficient. She kept our drinks topped off and was overall very attentive. We ordered three appetizers off the happy hour menu. We decided on the conch fritters ($9), the shrimp tacos ($9), and the warm crab and shrimp dip with chips ($11). Our food was out in 15 minutes, and most everything was freshly made. Conch fritters had great flavor but they were a little gummy and chewy for our taste. The dipping sauce was on the spicy side so that's something to be on the lookout for. The warm crab and shrimp dip was very good but also had a little spiciness to it, the chips were good but not freshly made or kept in a warmer before delivery; however, you do receive a lot of them. The shrimp tacos were our favorite if I were to do this all over again, I would have just ordered three sets of shrimp tacos, they were delicious. The restaurant has a modern nautical theme without being to overly nautical. We loved the view from the dock area and outside seating section near the back of the restaurant. The biggest issue I noticed while I was here was the restroom was not being attended to. There was a lot of water on the floor and areas where someone could slip there was also a full roll of toilet paper just laying on the floor in the stall. We were here for a while taking a break from the heat so I made two stops to the restroom during our visit and on both stops I noticed nothing had been cleaned or mopped up. All-in-all, it's a great spot for lunch or dinner, they fair pricing, an amazing view, friendly staff, ice cold beer and water.

This was great restaurant. The atmosphere on the water overlooking the marina was great. We ordered a variety of food from stone crab, salads, tuna nachos, blackened grouper and seafood pasta. All was excellent and we really enjoyed the fresh meal. Not all restaurants have fresh seafood from the boats but Alonzo's has contracts with some of the boats for fresh catches of the day. Our waitress was a native and her service was awesome. Great choice for a family meal or to just enjoy the people and marina. Thanks for a great experience.

Wow. Cool place Right on the water We came here for happy hour around 4 pm Just in time for the tarpon feeding.! She said she feeds some little bits of Maui fish. Yum! We had the conch fritters.. My first time having them They were okay but not my favorite. Then we had the warm shrimp and crab dip With tortilla chips $11 so good! And you get a lot of it. We also had the bang bang shrimp tacos for $9 to get two of them. So good. And now we're stuffed so perfect amount of food. Friendly staff great atmosphere open air feel. Portions are great.

We had a good time at Alonzo's ... just into Key West, walking the Key West Bight harbor area, watched the tarpon feeding out front, and viola, it's happy hour! Cocktails good, oysters good, mussels a bit spicy but good. Staff friendly and great! Fun place to stop for a cocktail, time it for the 4:00pm tarpon feeding! Recommend Alonzo's!

What brought us in first was the perfect breeze blowing through their outdoor seating area! It was by far one of the best spots we ate outdoors at. The views are great and that breeze is sheer bliss on a hot summer day. We had the oysters and pretzels as nice little snacks and both hit the spot big time. Our server was attentive and very friendly. Definitely worth a stop.

Lots of good things about this place. It's located within the Key West Historic Seaport near many other restaurants, bars and things to do. They have a lot of outdoor seating with views of the water. The interior and restrooms were both clean and not terribly outdated. We didn't have to wait for a table, got seated outside right away on a Saturday evening during Memorial Day weekend. Our waitress was very attentive & quick. Lobster roll & mahi ruben were both delicious and the fries are truly something special. We also had the shrimp and lobster dip which was pretty good but nothing to write home about and I could say the same about the conch fritters. Overall a good experience, I would recommend & might be back next time we're in town.

I stopped in at Alonzo's Oyster Bar for happy hour. I got a table facing the marina. Great views but preferred the atmosphere at the conch republic sea food company next door. That aside, the prices for happy hour are unbeatable and the items on the happy hour menu are numerous. I stayed out with oysters, followed by conch fritters, and then ended with peel and eat local shrimp. The shrimp were steamed in a beer sauce which was a little on the salty side. Service was quick but not rushed and the waitress was very nice.

Pretzels with beer cheese!

Tiki House - A Must Stop KW Vibe We stumbled into Tiki House…read moreright at opening, lured in by their "street talker" promising 2 for 1 beers and wells from 12-3 PM. Who's walking past that? Not us. Inside, it's pure island charm -- rustic tiki décor, laid back energy, and a munchie menu that's perfect for a quick bite. Football season meant TVs everywhere, plus a solo musician on stage (I don't need to hear the game to watch it; music soothes the beast). Enter Mira -- The Tiki Oracle. Bartender, manager, Key West historian, and all around gem. She switched a TV to our game without hesitation and put up with me talking her ear off like a true bartender therapist. We liked it so much we came back the next day, and the vibe was just as good -- friendly, accommodating, and exactly what you hope for in a KW spot. We even dragged the rest of our group over, and they immediately asked why we didn't start there. Tiki House is so Conch Republic vibed it just makes you feel good. I highly recommend it... even though I hate giving away a place this good.

The DJ was playing some great music that kept the dance floor going, and the bartender did a solid job keeping up with orders and taking care of everyone quickly. No complaints from our group at all. There is a small bar with about 12 stools, a small lounge area with about 4 small seating nooks, and then a high top bench area that is along the wall. Service and set up of this place is not conducive to being able to attend to patrons. Could only order food if you were seated at the bar. We sat at the high tops and you had to go to the bar to get your drinks. Problem is that the bar has patrons sitting as well so you are hovering over them waiting for a drink. It was very uncomfortable to impose upon others to try to get a drink. I am sure they didn't appreciate the audience as they were eating as well. The bartenders were way too busy and overwhelmed. Not only are they serving the seated patrons and the 4 small nooks, they are also making drinks for the attached restaurant. There were a gazillion tickets coming out of the printer and servers standing on the other side of the window waiting. It's just not possible to serve everyone with just two bartenders. We waited about 10 minutes for service. The drinks were underwhelming for a speakeasy. Just your typical menu. What we ordered was okay. They just missed a great opportunity to create unique twists on classics or to have craft cocktails. Even the classics (which are perfect for a speakeasy) weren't that great. For a speakeasy, the drinks are the main event. Glad we tried it as we always seek out speakeasies. Wouldn't go again.

I missed a chance to reserve at the ship's steakhouse and I was definitely craving burgers. The fact that I could enjoy it with a Mojito? Even better! Surly Siren is a cool little dive bar located on the second floor with views of Duval Street and Mallory Square. My friend and I walked in literally what I had just opened on Friday and sat by the bar. Our bartender was funny & helpful starting me with their Metallica martini, mixed with Cruzan Rum. As far as food, my fries had a nice crisp to them. The burger, served with caramelized onions and even ordering it medium (I usually order medium well , oops) was juicy and tasty especially supplemented with the bacon and the fried egg #proteinloading. My friend also approved of the chicken wings she ordered.
