So mad that i have never visited this bar in key west on my many trips. Came off the cruise ship and looked to my right and saw a very old two story bldg that spoke to me to come inside. Weary at first but the bartender was so much fun and the inside looked like key west in one glance. Only two other couples inside but it was early in the day. The bloody mary was delish and knocked over my first and the bartender did not blink an eye to refill me another. Cant wait to return. read more

Like that old song by Jimmy Buffett said, I enjoyed a cheeseburger in this paradise when my cruise stopped in Key West. I missed a chance to reserve at the ship's steakhouse and I was definitely craving burgers. The fact that I could enjoy it with a Mojito? Even better! Surly Siren is a cool little dive bar located on the second floor with views of Duval Street and Mallory Square. My friend and I walked in literally what I had just opened on Friday and sat by the bar. Our bartender was funny & helpful starting me with their Metallica martini, mixed with Cruzan Rum. As far as food, my fries had a nice crisp to them. The burger, served with caramelized onions and even ordering it medium (I usually order medium well , oops) was juicy and tasty especially supplemented with the bacon and the fried egg #proteinloading. My friend also approved of the chicken wings she ordered. read more

Bar, with bar food. Mostly fried. Server/bartender was nice. Food came out quickly, accurately & was fine. Water was in a 5 gallon cooler. Didn't try the smash burgers. Bar is primary, Food is secondary, i'd say. read more

We loved the sweet chili sauce with our tots and cauliflower bites! Service was quick and friendly. Live music was fantastic- didn't catch his name but he played a variety of music and he had us rocking out with him. Perfect place for late snacks and drinks before walking back down Duval st. read more

Surly Siren Saloon was one of our favorite bars in the downtown area. Fortunately we were able to pay them a visit on two separate evenings. There is so much to see and do in Key West that it's hard to hit the same bar twice. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Well drinks are just $5, which means I'm having more than one drink and staying for a while. The live music has been amazing here. Both times solo performers were featured with mad skills. Hats off to Erica Sunshine Lee and Rob Benton for their amazing performances. We look forward to seeing you both again. The bar is on the second story of a building which sits on top of a $5 store. You can't help but notice there is a party going on from the street because they turn the PA's out towards the street so passersby can hear the live performances. Great marketing on their part because that's what got us in there. The bar area is air conditioned, which makes it nice on these 90° days in Florida; however, if you prefer to sit outside, they have an expansive balcony that wraps nearly all the second floor of the building. It's great place to enjoy your cocktail, smoke a cigar, and watch activity at Mallory Square and the street below. We didn't have any of the food while we were here but heard good things about it. This is somewhat of a new business; the owner explained that they've been there for 2 years now and she came all the way here from Las Vegas to open this bar in Key West. I hope she is successful in her endeavors and look forward to seeing her and hanging out at the Surly Siren Saloon next time I'm town. If you happen to be near Mallory Square to watch the sunset and street performances, I highly recommend stopping in to support the Surly Siren Saloon while you're downtown. It's a great way to close out or begin the evening depending on the bedtime you choose. read more

We stopped into Surly Siren Saloon for a few drinks and had a fantastic time. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in Key West--laid back, unique, and full of character. The drinks were well-made, and the service was friendly and quick. It's a great spot to duck into for a few beverages and soak up the local vibe. We'll definitely be back read more

Unassuming bar (2nd floor) but the smash burger, fried pickles, and fries were all very good. We stopped by for a quick bite and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. Go try the Surly Siren. ENJOY!!! read more

Came here on a pub crawl. Bartender was so rude. Don't remember his name, but he was wearing biker shorts. Their signature drink- whatever their blue cocktail is - is actually disgusting. I couldn't even finish It. And the bathrooms were horrendous! Dirty and dark. like seriously why is there barely any light in there? wouldn't waste my time or money here. The only positive is the rooftop views. There are plenty of other bars in Key West where they don't have an attitude simply because you ordered a drink from them. read more

We stopped by Surely Siren Saloon for dinner and were blown away. The drinks were amazing, the musicians were so talented (we stayed so long we listened to two artists!), the staff was SO fun and friendly, but the real cherry on top was how great the food was!! I wish we took more photos, but the smashburger was some of the best we've ever had (this is coming from a Chicagoan), the pig wings were amazing and came clean off the bone! And the umami fish sliders were so so tasty. Again, we were blown away and highly recommend! You won't be disappointed read more

Popped in during our bar hopping and glad we did. We happened to be the only people in the restaurant for a while but we were a large group and the bartender was hustling to help us before happy hour was over. I had a black cherry frozen beverage was that tasty and refreshing. My husband and I also spilt the HH smash burger and fries that were great. read more

This place is awesome! I was walking by and was lured in by a $5 well drink sign. I waltzed in and was greeted by the coolest bartender, Ryan. He has such a charm to him! He whipped me up a drink with a heavy hand might I say! I had a good time just yappin with him. He let me try a shot called the tootsie roll which is one of my favorite candies and it was a dead ringer for the candy! That can be dangerous! I also tried a drink named Cold Gin and it was awesome. Funny thing is I HATE gin but Ryan is that good! It tasted like a jolly rancher! There's food here as well but I didn't get to try it! Great drinks, amazing prices, and an even more amazing bartender , yeah, I'LL BE BACK! read more

Drinks and flatbreads were great. Pretty affordable. We were there during the day so didn't get to see the bar in full swing but enjoyed it. It is a flight upstairs as an fyi. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Original Surly Smash and Fries. Phenomenal burger! Served very hot, juicy, and cheesy. Bun was buttered and toasted and it held up to the burger. The grilled onions and chipotle mayo put it over the top. Fries were cooked perfectly and have a touch of old bay type seasoning. Service was top notch. After having the burger, I understand why it won best burger on the island. Reign undefeated Original Surly Smash! read more

We were eager to find a good burger while in Key West, and after checking Yelp reviews, we chose the Surley Siren Saloon. The restaurant/bar is situated in a prime location and offers both indoor and outdoor seating with views of all of Key West. We decided to order frickles, a smash burger, and fries. The frickles were decent but nothing to get excited about. I was surprised by my fellow Yelpers' enthusiasm for the smash burger, as it was just okay--definitely not worth boasting about. Next time, I'll satisfy my burger cravings before or after my trips to Key West. read more

Food was great and open late! They were playing screamo music after the performer which was interesting but overall a great experience!

Pickle fries and original smash burger were awesome! Great service! Metallica mojito with coconut was a hit with my wife!

The food and ambiance were amazing, great music and Phoebe was the most attentive and personable server!!

The food and service was good but the beers were sky high around $9 for a tap beer. The bathrooms were dirty with no paper towels. Would NOT go there again. read more

Paid $250 per ticket for an open bar and buffet dinner for Fantasy Fest parade. $100 more than the year prior. Ticket was for 3 hours of food/drinks. The parade ran short - so they tried to end the open bar at 8pm, despite all print material saying 9pm. When questioned and pushed they extended the bar to 8:30pm. For $250 each - paying for 3 hours of an open bar/buffet, I expected to have 3 hours of food and drinks. The food was nearly 30 minutes late and they ran out pretty quick - by 7pm the buffet was wiped out. It's a great vantage point for the parade and the food was good - but I expect a business to uphold the package I purchased. Disappointed for the price paid vs. what we experienced. Bartenders were rude and questioned why we ordered specialty drinks despite menu saying it was a "top shelf open bar". Explore other options for less and a better experience. Would not pay $250 again next year. read more

My wife and I are in town visiting family and have never been to key west prior. We're definitely guilty of ordering late night munchie food after getting back from the bar but choices are limited. Surly Siren was the only place open other than your standard fast food chains. The burger here is amazing and the fries have this type of lime powder on them that makes me reminisce of lime flavor lays. Really unique and awesome. Would highly recommend for late night delivery and will also be trying this place during the day read more
