We had dinner here last night and experienced such mean service staff. A male came to deliver drinks after about 30 mins and ordered me to move the plates so he could set his tray down on the table. Several of our orders were wrong. When we asked for corrections we were met with such hostility from the male server. Food was okay, nothing great. Rice was the best thing. Won't go back. read more

Just ok. Service was good but the food was average. The blackened shrimp taco were good but full of iller cabbage and the white sauce was bland. The grouper sandwich was good but their mango slaw was bad (sour and slimy) a shame they tried to serve it. The Florida red shrimp basket was good with their spicy remoulade. The kids chicken tender basket was solid specially for a picky eater. They serve three daughters ciders (our fave is the key lime cider). Their house margarita can be made with key lime. Delish. read more

We love this place every year multiple Times they never disappoint ever. Also same Staff every time is not an easy thing to achieve read more

The food was delicious!! We had the Cuban egg rolls. They were fantastic!! So yummy we got a second order. Hog wings cleaned to the bone, very tasty with the hot honey sauce. The cheese croquettes were very good. Especially with the hot honey from the hog wings (not too spicy which is perfect for us). We had the mini empanadas and a burger those were average. Key Lime Martini was good better with ice. The Key Lime pie was THE BEST!! Absolute perfection!! The perfect key lime tartness with the perfect amount of meringue on top to balance it. We took a slice to go it was so delicious. We're definitely going back for that!! read more

Love the Key Lime Martini and really happy our hotel gave us a "2-4-1" ticket or else I would've missed a great thing! The graham cracker around the rim was a perfect touch . We had great service here, our waiter was a attentive and I hostess quickly, sat at a table that we chose . The fritters were tasty to me, but my husband stated there could've been a little bit more conch and less filling . I ordered the shrimp basket. I did enjoy the shrimp, they were a bit overcooked. However, they were seasoned well. This is a great location on the marina and for Friday night. It wasn't too crowded and the music was at the proper level so that I can have a conversation. read more

The menu is very limited. Very few choices. Value for the money is not good. My quesadillas had one shrimp in each of the 4 pieces. The coleslaw came in a tiny 1/4 cup and was $6.00. We should have known better. Every place around was packed and this place was empty. Would not recommend. The waitstaff was nice. read more

Best view on the harbor and the best staff. Drinks are amazing. We have been going for years and always head back when we are in town.

Bartender wasn't friendly at all, let our drinks sit empty for awhile, never asked about menus or checked in on us at all. They also advertised it was heated inside and it definitely wasn't, it was freezing. Also their famous key lime martini is gross...definitely not worth it. read more

Went fishing, caught a couple lil ones, and the Captain recommended this place , so I took my fish in, and they cooked it , we chose tacos, and for them to cook them blackened- we weren't disappointed- all was delicious...so why not 5 stars ? 1- $24 a plate, and I provided the main course (maybe a bit steep) , but I'm not really complaining about the price . 2- Service, now for whatever reason, pretty much all Service on this Key is so lackadaisical, and this place is not the exception but the norm . 3- Now this is what drove that star down : the fries came with this sauce (pretty much like Mayo/Ketchup ), and we asked for more, and when the bill came, they charged .50 extra for a lil bit of sauce . THEY CHARGED .50 MORE !!! . Now we all know it's not about the .50 , it's the pettiness!!! THAT WAS PETTY MR. OWNER !!! HOPE THAT .50 WAS WORTH IT ! read more

Back again a year later! Stepped odd the Fishmonster Max with our snapper catches for the day and had the White Tarpon prepare them again - everything was absolutely delicious as before!Ordered truffle fries, Cole slaw, green beans and the accompanying sauces (tartar and cocktail). We polished off most of it as well as ordered some rum runner cocktails (delicious and will sneak up on you!). This seems to be turning into a tradition for us - service was efficient and friendly. read more

One of my first stops for happy hour. Great drink prices and incredible happy hour menu.

Food was very good. We were in Key West for a week & ate there 3 times. The servers were prompt & helpful. They cooked the fish we caught on our fishing trip. Highly recommend! read more

Very nice restaurant right on the water at the marina. We just went for drinks. It was at very hot day and seated ourselves at the bar. Drinks were very good. The bartender was a little grumpy. Didn't say one word to us. There was only one other person sat there. Maybe it was the heat. read more

White Tarpon - Key lime martini - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Key West, Florida

Commodore's Boat House used to be here, but has now been replaced with the White Tarpon. Do not come here expecting it to be anything like the food, service or experience of the previous restaurant, which I loved going to for years. I will not go back here. Came in during happy hour. $9 for a house happy hour margarita. (She charged us for Milagro after asking for the house happy hour margarita) we asked if we could do separate checks and she said she could do that. She disappeared and everyone in the tables around us started looking around with empty glasses in front of them. We ordered from the happy hour menu and the food was good...but not much for the highly inflated price. $117 for two people only ordering 4 happy hour items and just a couple margaritas is ridiculous. When the check came out, there were drinks added that we didn't order and a mystery "margarita fee" of $8.00. When we asked about it, she didn't give us a straight answer and got hostile. We asked to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. Clearly she was not. But finally after a while the chef came to speak with us and got the check corrected. But he still refused to remove the margarita fee. He didn't explain what it was clearly, either. They just added extra to take advantage of drunk tourists who won't notice, which the four of us were not. Such a disappointment! They won't last long with these unethical practices and lack of service. Happy hour isn't cheap. Service is horrible. AVOID!! read more

Just popped in for a drink, happy hour is from 3-5:30, which we were not aware of when we arrived at 5:20. Our bartender (Julia?), happily took our order quickly, even though they were packed, so we were able to take advantage of the 1/2 off beer and wine. $4 for Funky Buddha and $4 for Camelot chard, not bad and good size pours. I did not eat there, but can see it is a popular place during happy hour, certainly at the bar. By 6PM the bar was only half full, seems folks head elsewhere for dinner. read more

Got the key lime margarita and it was delicious. The rim of the glass was lined with key lime pie filling and gram cracker crumbles that complimented the perfectly smooth beverage. The two bartenders were incredibly kind and talkative, giving me tips on where to get the best key lime pie and things to see in town. It is also located right in the wharf area in the heart of the action. The ambiance was chill yet festive. You are guaranteed to have a good time. read more

Stopped in with a group of 8 after a boat tour. The tour company gave us coupons for discounted Key Lime martinis at the White Tarpon. We ordered the cocktails, with every intention of staying for appetizers & additional drinks. Upon ordering, Patrick, the bartender loudly announced, "Oh great! Tourists with coupons!" So incredibly rude! Needless to say...took two sips and left. Too many other lovely establishments nearby to choose to be insulted by staff at White Tarpon. read more

Great place to go to for a quick drink! We were told about this place from a friend. We were recommended the key lime pie martini and man we were NOT disappointed. The ground up graham cracker crust on the outside of the glass was a great touch and helped cut the tartness of the drink. Tastes exactly like key lime pie. Too easy to drink because it was sweet and tart. Felt refreshing on such a hot day. Staff was friendly as well. Can't wait to try some food options next time! read more

Was down in Key West with a large group of people maybe 10 to 12 of us stopped in the white tarpon they would not put tables together and serve us. It's not like it was 10 o'clock and they were trying to close. They just didn't feel like dealing with a large table who in the right mind turns away a table of 12 if I was the server I would be pissed. That's a nice tip. We will not be back. read more

Something like a three or four. We hung out at the bar a couple hours, was like a $100 for a few drinks. Whew!! Super service. Wonderful marina views, especially during the excitement of race week. Was fun, just sort of steep. In fact, I think she may have even overcharged us but we didn't protest other than to balk amongst ourselves. I'd definitely be more careful next time. This is one of those times when I wish there was an option to add half a star. The service was excellent--very friendly and helpful. My husband had a burger and said it was pretty good. I ad calamari and loaded fries. The fries weren't quite completely cooked. They weren't crispy outside, and they were kind of hard inside. Maybe they just needed another minute in the fryer. The calamari, on the other hand, was overcooked and really tough. I eat a lot of calamari, and this was the toughest I can remember having. They get a lot of good reviews for their breakfast, so we'll see how they do at breakfast time. read more

What a disappointment! Service was OK, food was OK, experience was ruined by drink pricing. My wife ordered a mojito, when they asked us what kind of rum we replied Malibu because it would sweeten the drink. When we received our check there were two charges for the Mojito. One charge said Malibu $8.50 and the second charge of $2.50 indicated "Bar; Mojito". When I questioned the additional charge, I was told "it's what the bar charges for making the Malibu into a Mojito", which is a ridiculous explanation! A reasonable explanation may have been that the Mojito is $8.50 and there is an up charge of $2.50 for the Malibu. But both the server and manager stuck to their original story!!! This is the kind of customer service/ inter-action that ruins bars & restaurants! We'll never go back to The White Tarpon and we will be sure to tell all our friends who visit Key West to go to ANY one of the other establishments in Key West. read more
