Just ok. Service was good but the food was average. The blackened shrimp taco were good but full of iller cabbage and the white sauce was bland. The grouper sandwich was good but their mango slaw was bad (sour and slimy) a shame they tried to serve it. The Florida red shrimp basket was good with their spicy remoulade. The food was delicious!! We had the Cuban egg rolls. They were fantastic!! So yummy we got a second order. Hog wings cleaned to the bone, very tasty with the hot honey sauce. The cheese croquettes were very good. Especially with the hot honey from the hog wings (not too spicy which is perfect for us). We had the mini empanadas and a burger those were average. Key Lime Martini was good better with ice. The Key Lime pie was THE BEST!! Absolute perfection!! The perfect key lime tartness with the perfect amount of meringue on top to balance it. Love the Key Lime Martini and really happy our hotel gave us a "2-4-1" ticket or else I would've missed a great thing! The graham cracker around the rim was a perfect touch . We had great service here, our waiter was a attentive and I hostess quickly, sat at a table that we chose . The fritters were tasty to me, but my husband stated there could've been a little bit more conch and less filling . I ordered the shrimp basket. I did enjoy the shrimp, they were a bit overcooked. The menu is very limited. Very few choices. Value for the money is not good. My quesadillas had one shrimp in each of the 4 pieces. The coleslaw came in a tiny 1/4 cup and was $6.00. Do not come here expecting it to be anything like the food, service or experience of the previous restaurant, which I loved going to for years. I will not go back here. Came in during happy hour. $9 for a house happy hour margarita. (She charged us for Milagro after asking for the house happy hour margarita) we asked if we could do separate checks and she said she could do that. She disappeared and everyone in the tables around us started looking around with empty glasses in front of them. We ordered from the happy hour menu and the food was good...but not much for the highly inflated price. $117 for two people only ordering 4 happy hour items and just a couple margaritas is ridiculous. When the check came out, there were drinks added that we didn't order and a mystery "margarita fee" of $8.00. When we asked about it, she didn't give us a straight answer and got hostile. We asked to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. Clearly she was not. But finally after a while the chef came to speak with us and got the check corrected. But he still refused to remove the margarita fee. He didn't explain what it was clearly, either. They just added extra to take advantage of drunk tourists who won't notice, which the four of us were not. Such a disappointment! It's not like it was 10 o'clock and they were trying to close. This is one of those times when I wish there was an option to add half a star. The service was excellent--very friendly and helpful. My husband had a burger and said it was pretty good. I ad calamari and loaded fries. The fries weren't quite completely cooked. They weren't crispy outside, and they were kind of hard inside. Maybe they just needed another minute in the fryer. The calamari, on the other hand, was overcooked and really tough. I eat a lot of calamari, and this was the toughest I can remember having. They get a lot of good reviews for their breakfast, so we'll see how they do at breakfast time. read more

What a disappointment! Service was OK, food was OK, experience was ruined by drink pricing. My wife ordered a mojito, when they asked us what kind of rum we replied Malibu because it would sweeten the drink. When we received our check there were two charges for the Mojito. One charge said Malibu $8.50 and the second charge of $2.50 indicated "Bar; Mojito". When I questioned the additional charge, I was told "it's what the bar charges for making the Malibu into a Mojito", which is a ridiculous explanation! A reasonable explanation may have been that the Mojito is $8.50 and there is an up charge of $2.50 for the Malibu. But both the server and manager stuck to their original story!!! This is the kind of customer service/ inter-action that ruins bars & restaurants! We'll never go back to The White Tarpon and we will be sure to tell all our friends who visit Key West to go to ANY one of the other establishments in Key West. read more
