Hogfish sauced in mushrooms with risotto and green beans.

Hogfish was great! Shrimp on top with mushroom sauce was nice surprise. Great ocean view. Chris O was very attentive.

This is the best place we been to since arriving in Key West. The place is very nice and well done inside. Patio porch area to view the Oceanside is amazing. Our Waiter and staff were very professional and nice to all of us. Thank you to Christopher for being Amazing! We ordered multiple cocktails that night and they did not disappoint. They were all delicious and gave you a good buzz! Appetizers were very tasty the Mushrooms and Bruschetta both excellent! A couple of us ordered the Lasagna which was cooked perfectly! The ratio of cheese, meat and sauce OMFG I can't believe it was perfect finally a restaurant got it correct. The other 2 had different dishes which looked amazing and they were in love with each of their meals. SPAGHETTI alla BOLOGNESE presented very nicely and POLLO alla PARMIGIANA. We finished with multiple desserts. We were a bit buzzed from the drinks but I tell you that they were all good. CANNOLI RIPIENI was delicious, TIRAMISU (not my favorite dessert) but my friend said it was definitely worth every bite. A couple of us had MOUSSE du CHOCOLATE which was definitely amazing. I tell you this is the spot for a great Italian dinner with friends if you go to Key West.

I was in Key West for a long weekend to participate in a duathlon and La Trattoria was hands down my favorite restaurant we dined at on this trip. I easily made a dinner reservation on OpenTable and we were seated immediately when we arrived. The place was dim and decorated nicely for the holidays. It was already dark when we got there but I'm sure the sunset over the beach is a gorgeous sight to see. My bf and I first ordered the mussels which went wonderfully with the bread that was served to each table. For my entree I opted for a simple Spaghetti Bolognese and my bf got the scallops on angel hair pasta. Scrumptious and hearty, all of it! It made for some good leftovers too. Didn't have room for dessert but my bf and I did share a nice cognac to top off our meal. The staff was very nice, attentive and efficient. There are so many more dishes I want to try and will stop by on our next trip to the Keys.

Found this a few years ago and it is such a nicer restaurant than the one on Duval. Food is excellent, service is outstanding.

Good food, good service. I'd visit again for sure. The antipasti is on point. The chicken piccata exactly how it should be.

Does this restaurant offer any gluten free options?

Hi Maggie! Yes both of our locations have several gluten free options. We have a gluten free pasta which can be substituted with many of our dishes and we have several standard menus items that are gluten free. Our staff is very well educated on…

The gentleman who took our order was so helpful. Was kind enough to let us know almost all plates are large and can be shared. I had a specific request and he made it happen. The ambiance was lovely as-well, the place is extremely clean, with dim lighting and an overall casual luxurious feel. The pasta was divine. You can tell everything is home-made and fresh. Best pasta I've ever had. Cannot recommend enough! Fellas, take your lady here. She will love it.

She then came back and very rudely stated "oh that menu's not for you, it's for locals and you aren't a local". She then snatched it away and gave us a new one. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, some calamari and bread. The bartender was not only ignoring us but the rest of the bar as she proceeded to chat with three ladies at the end of the bar. Our food sat on the bar for 10 minutes before she finally got around to delivering it to us. By that time the calamari was cold and not edible. I called her out on being rude and she proceeded to argue with us. Apparently she didn't get the memo that her job is dependent upon tourists. And btw, we live in Florida so not that far away. I have never been treated so poorly and insulted by someone's tone and demeanor than by this woman. My advise, don't sit at the bar or don't waste your time at all. Clearly they are not tourist friendly. I wish I could comment on the food but we never got that far.

Started with the deviled egg sampler - absolutely delicious - three kinds: regular, topped with crispy chorizo and topped with a fried jalapeño. Hubs had the yellowfin tuna sandwich (no bun) and I had the grilled grouper sandwich. Froth fish were perfectly cooked! The side salads had a delicious vinaigrette dressing. French fries were good. I also had a glass of Hess Allomi Cabernet Sauvignon which was a bit pricy but wonderful. Look forward to returning here again sometime for dinner.

Food Blackfin is a beer and wine restaurant, so no cocktails. I'm not a big drinker, but I do enjoy when a place offers creative house cocktails. Since I'm not much of a wine or beer person either, I was initially a bit disappointed. That changed quickly when I saw they served Stiegl Grapefruit Radler. That alone felt like a small vacation in a glass. The menu offers plenty of choices to satisfy almost any palate. We weren't especially hungry, so we opted for a lighter approach: * Grilled Octopus * Tempura Green Beans * Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad Everything we ordered was very good. The salad was fresh and thoughtfully balanced, with bacon, goat cheese, apple, and honey bringing layers of flavor. It was served with a crusty baguette. We don't normally eat bread, but this was a welcome addition. The grilled octopus was tender, flavorful, and served hot. Always a good sign. The tempura items were nicely executed, lightly battered and not greasy. The green beans were crisp with delicate seasoning, served alongside a balsamic glaze dipping sauce that complemented without overpowering. Service Service was attentive throughout the evening. We never felt forgotten, and we never felt rushed. The pacing was natural and relaxed. Thank you, Gabor. Atmosphere The indoor dining area feels quiet and intimate. The outdoor patio in the back leans more casual. Surrounded by a tall fence and shaded by trees that form natural canopies, it offers a sense of privacy that can be hard to find in many of the more open-air restaurants along Duval Street. Even though this was a lighter, abbreviated meal for us, my sense is that Blackfin would be an excellent choice for a full dinner. We would definitely plan to return on our next visit to Key West.

The pasta nearly melted in my mouth and the crab was obviously fresh (I confirmed it was Florida Blue Crab). I almost went back for the same dish a second time but that is against my religion. I do like to try new dishes. My husband has a cheese allergy and was forced to avoid the meatballs since they had cheese in them. He opted for rigatoni and sausage and said it was good but just a tad sweet. They also gave us two servings of bread, a plus! Our waitress was not as friendly as the ones we have had when we have eaten here previously. I think it had to do with how busy they were on a Friday night? We had an absolutely incredible night here, and it easily became a group favorite. The star of the show is their homemade pasta, which they roll out fresh every single day. You can genuinely taste the difference in the texture. They pair those perfect noodles with unbelievably fresh, local seafood. Our table ordered a mix of everything--and every single plate was a hit. Beyond the food, the vibe is exactly what you want when catching up with friends. We sat out on their outdoor garden patio, which is filled with twinkle lights and feels like a hidden, cozy oasis away from the loud chaos of Duval Street. It is casual, welcoming, and has a great energy. They also have a reasonably priced wine selection that makes it easy to share a bottle (or two) over dinner. The service was also top-notch. Our server was warm, fast, and completely on top of things, keeping the evening moving smoothly without ever making us feel rushed. Great food, amazing seafood, and a beautiful garden setting--I can't recommend it enough for your next dinner!
