This place is great on ambiance. Fresh air seating on the water. Even the roar of the nearby naval air base planes taking off added a uniqueness you can't get anywhere else. The servers were plentiful and our server checked on us multiple times. However, many people received their food before us although they came in after us. This didn't go unnoticed by our waiter, who told us our fried calamari appetizer would not be charged to us. I wish the food was better. The fried calamari was overcooked and rubbery. I had the muscles and they were gritty and the sauce was too thick. My lunch partner had the daily special which was chicken and shrimp fajitas. He was disappointed in the fajita toppings, which lacked flavor. However, the shrimp and the chicken were well cooked and tasty. Loved the atmosphere, but the food was lackluster. read more

We dropped in based on a few recommendations -- and, of course, Yelp -- and glad we did! When we arrived, we thought it was open seating, but there was actually a wait to be seated. The staff handled it so politely and professionally that it set the tone for a great night. We tried several dishes: * Smoked fish spread ($17): Served with tortilla chips, celery, and carrots. Great flavor and a generous portion. * Hogfish fingers ($17): Crispy and golden, paired perfectly with tartar and cocktail sauce. * Peel & eat Key West shrimp ($27): Hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Served with butter and cocktail sauce -- delicious. Our server, Ava, was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The location is just off the us1! Got lucky to discover it on the map and took a chance based on a BUNCH of 5 star reviews! What a hidden gem. The location is right on the water, perfect for kids- tons of fish to feed right next to the tables, staff was very friendly, tuna nachos and Hog snapper were delicious!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Talk about fun and delicious. We ordered several things for our table to try. The Grouper Cheeks might have been my favorite. They had a panko style breading that was super crispy. I really enjoyed them. We also ordered Blackened Grouper Tacos that we loved. They definitely aren't afraid to fill the tacos up! There are jalapeños, pico, cabbage and a drizzle of a tasty sauce. I highly recommend ordering these. My daughter had been dying to get some Stone Crab claws so we ordered a 1/2 lb (that was 3 claws), at market price which was $21 and she was beyond excited. My husband ordered shrimp and he said that it was also very good. The service was just as amazing as the food. I also recommend an Iguana Juice. read more

Such a nice restaurant by the water. We traveled to Key West from Miami Beach and stopped by here for lunch on our way home. We got to know about them from YouTube video and wanted to try. Seafood dishes were less than we expected - I ordered Swordfish and crab cake, which was one of the fresh catch dishes. The dish was great, exactly what I wanted to have for lunch. Staffs are friendly, nice tiki style decoration. Greatest addition here is the amazing view - we saw a manatee swimming by during lunch. We enjoyed the view and the meal. read more

Off the normal tourist path. Mostly fishermen, locals and people in to know. Others have complained about the jets... seems silly to complain about since you can tell driving in you are right behind the base runway. I actually thought it was cool watching the few fighter keys come in. Service was great. Chatty and kind of had a Cheers everyone knows you vibe. Portions are significant if that is your thing. Shrimp were perfect HogFish fish and chips were amazing! And that is saying something for a guy from Seattle since we are all about fish. Crispy not greasy. Fresh. Perfectly done. Pulled pork Baja taco was good. We are a long way from Baja however they pulled off that style well with a Island flare seasoning the pork. Drinks and ambiance were great. Only downside were the cigarette smokers. It has been a long time since I have had to smell that while I ate. Dog friendly and I thought that was cool. Someone comes in with a dog and they bring it a water bowl and something to snack on. It's the Keys so no cheap eats here. However far mor affordable that in town. read more

Had dinner there with my son and his wife. Had the blackened yellowtail with green fried tomatoes. The dish was good but expected a larger piece of fish for the money. All seating is outside so you see kayakers paddle by. Funny thing to watch was the orioles would steal the French fries from a guys plate every time he got up from his table. read more

If you want a delicious dinner with great service, a cool atmosphere and a place by the water, look no further. We happened upon this place on our way to key west and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant itself has cabana tiki bar vibes and it's on the water surrounded by mangroves and turquoise waters. We went for dinner and were seated right by the waters edge and got to watch fish swim and chase shrimp all night. Our server, Eve, was attentive, friendly, and made great conversation. She made us feel right at home! Our food was delicious. I had the garden salad with blackened shrimp and my partner had shrimp tacos and both were delicious. The portion sizes were great and it wasn't too pricey. This place is also nestled right next to an RV campground so it makes it a great place to stay a while. I highly recommend read more

So wanted to love this quirky restaurant down a side road on the water. They will clean and cook the fish you catch. Truly a fish camp. Great attentive and friendly staff. But... we had the hog fish sliders and a Caesar salad with wahoo. The sliders were just so so, small amounts of fish, salsa had too much pepper, and the fries are like the cheap fries from the freezer section. The salad was fine, lettuce fresh, small slice of wahoo, but was literally ruined by the mountain of Pepperidge Farm packaged croutons on it. Ugh! Make your own croutons! We stopped for lunch on the way to key west for the afternoon. We started with Tequila Mosas and they were fabulous. I shared the Fried Calamari and Mermaid Salad with my daughter. The calamari was good, average calamari. The mermaid salad was so delicious and had so many flavors. My husband had the hogfish sandwich and said it was really good. I would definitely stop again.
