My wife and I visited FL for the week. Our meal at A&B was the best. I was dying for some Grouper and my wife found them while we exited our Sunset Cruise. We double checke on Yelp and they had a 3.8 rating and I was a bit concerned since I usually insist on 4+ yelp ratings. We decided to go and were not disappointed. Service was impecable. So so good. Came here per a friend's reccomendation. We had a reservation and were able to sit outside on the deck with views of the water/dock/boats. Excellent service and food. This place is in a great location and it's very beautiful inside. We were here for a rehearsal dinner, there was about 30 of us. I thought the service was excellent and they handled the number of people well. The shrimp cocktail was amazing probably one of the best I've ever had! Both the salads were good, I thought it was a good portion sized considering we had a prefixed 4 courses! The filet was good but the asparagus was just ok same with the mashed potatoes. This is a great destination for a special night out. Reservations can be made through OpenTable, which I thought was very nice. A&B has an excellent selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. And more than anything, the salad was disappointing by having almost no leaves, plus the amount of cheese was overkill and I couldn't finish it. I came here for my 30th and 40th birthday dinner. I reserved a table outside about 30 days in advance to ensure I could sit where I wanted. We were two tables totalling 20+ people. We had 2 servers. Ousr was Michal. He was fabulous. This was the first restaurant that allowed us to split checks which was great especially when some people (us) ordered MP items. King Crab Legs were $127 for a pound. They were tender sweet and worth every penny. I started with an orange Cosmo which was made perfectly. (Light lime light cranberry) i had a Lobster Bisque soup which was yummy. The wedge salad portions were small but friends enjoyed it. For my main i ordered a single crab cake which to me was a bit dry but my hubby got the King Crab legs and he shared. Five stars for food and service. One star for seating a young family with 2 small children next to us where the wife practically sat shoulder to shoulder with my husband! This did not make sense as the restaurant had just opened and only a few tables occupied on a Wednesday! Thank goodness no drama from the children because parents kept them busy with activities. Wonderful way to spend our last night on the magical island. Deserving of its namesake, our party of 4 ordered 3 different lobster dishes, and they were all amazing. Sweet succulent and sizable pieces, the sweet meat of the sea shined in truffle, risotto, or as a juicy tail, the star of the dinner plate. The crème brûlée was one of the best I've had. Almost every Tik Tok, itinerary, or post regarding recommendations stated that A7B Lobster House is the place to go in Key West for a nice dinner.... And they were not wrong. First its location has prime views, I mean walking in the area is very common, but right on the marina and during sunset is a gorgeous place to be. I mean who can complain when you are watching the sun set over the water with the boats on the horizon! If you want to walk around and go exploring in the evening it is super close to Duval street, as well as other restaurants and bars on the Marina. From outside you can see and tell the restaurant is upper scale and not your typical beach restaurant. It is upstairs, not to be confused with a different restaurant down stairs! One of the best parts of the restaurants is the consistent service. Originally we created a reservation for 2 and added a 3 person last minute and it caused no strife and they were super accommodating, especially on a busy night. We were right on time for our reservation and immediately seated, maybe even a couple minutes early! The menu isn't extensive, but all the options are so intriguing you have to take a long hard minute contemplating which to pick. It can be hard when each item is on the higher price scale, but on a positive note, they do have some good options for large appetizers that were great prices. We all got something different to give us the option to try and taste multiple things! We all decided to get a drink, each one is on the higher price scale for a drink and they are not huge, but definitely flavorful. I got a dirty martini and it was one of the best that I have had in a while. Another drink was their bee's knees and it was the perfect combination of sweetness for a drink! For dinner I got appetizers because I wanted to try multiple things and keep the price point down (I also wasn't super hungry). I got the lobster bisque and I could rave about it for days. It had a thicker consistency so it made it very filling, it had chunks of lobster in it too, and it wasn't a small bowl of soup which also made it even more filling. I also got escargot with lobster biscuits (biscuits in the shapes of lobster) in a creamy sauce! Both were super tasty and were the perfect size, especially with drinks and bread! Took too long to get drinks on a slow Tuesday night. Dirty martinis were mediocre and unfortunately they used store bought blue cheese stuffed olives. Pre meal bread was a French bread that was served warm and had a nice crust which we ate all of. Server was nice but we felt hurried throughout the meal. Ceaser salad was good with a nice cheese crisp garnish. For dinner we shared two entrees. The Caribbean lobster tail was overcooked and hard to cut with a knife. We swapped out the mashed potatoes for the coconut pecan rice which I did enjoy and it also came with asparagus that was cooked well. Our second entree was the Grouper Oscar. Overall the flavor was a little bland and the grouper was slightly overcooked. I know grouper has a mild flavor but I expired the "Oscar" style to make it pop. We again swapped out the mashed potatoes but got the Gruyère Potato Gratin which was the highlight of the plate. There were several nice dessert options on the menu but we passed based on the rest of the meal. We planned on ordering a nice bottle of wine but because of the pace of the meal we chose to have a glass instead. Mediocre food and rushed service probably cost them another $200 in sales on a Tuesday night. read more

After finding out my dietary restrictions, he brought me a special mocktail and made me feel at home. I had mixed reviews on the dishes offered, but overall positive. My husband really enjoyed their lobster and escargot appetizer. The lobster bisque was a bit skimpy on the lobster but did have good flavor. I opted for the filet and my husband the king crab. The filet was just okay. I don't know if it was charred on one side, but I just wasn't a fan. The crab though, my husband was SHOCKED at the amount. He's still talking about it a few days later. We came here while in Key West from recommendations from our concierge and don't recommend there are so many better less expensive restaurants . Concierge claimed we would be overlooking the water and eating the best seafood. The service was alright waiters seemed very rushed and it was very packed. There was no music so it was weird silence with only clicking of plates and silverware. We sat in the middle so no water view there are only a couple small tables by windows that are covered by walls so the middle tables don't see any water. The bar was PACKED but in a dingy dark seperate room from the restaurant. The food was ok, my husband took a bite into the escargot and immediately ate shell so he was grossed out and so was the rest of the group. I had the Oscar grouper which was good maybe the best part but wasn't so interested after the shell problem. The crab cake was the size of a scoop of ice cream and dry and bland. I've eaten at A&B three times in the past 2-3 years. First and foremost , it's probably one of the most expensive restaurants in Key West. If you can get past the prices, the food, service, and atmosphere are all great. It's also one of the only restaurants with multiple preparations of lobster tail. My absolute favorite dish is the lobster Thermidor. The sherry cream sauce is just to die for, and the lobster meat is always perfectly cooked. I usually order fish and not a huge fan of lobster, but when I come to A&B, I've learned to order lobster because it's better than the fish!! They always have a changing special, my last time there was a yellowtail snapper with scallops and a uniquely delicious blueberry sauce. Their "Oscar" dishes aren't my favorite, im from Maryland so I'm picky about crab meat, and the béarnaise sauce is too heavy for me. But others seems to love it, so ok! Also their blue-cheese stuffed olives for martinis are not very good, it seems like they came right out of a can from the grocery store and I would expect better quality for such a high quality restaurant. A&B is welcome gem of a finer dining experience amongst the many many casual dining spots in Key West. Casual attire is still welcome because- well it's the Key West, but the ambience is definitely more of an upscale restaurant. The service was out of this world. This place runs like a well oiled machine. We wanted for nothing, ordered everything at once but it was all timed perfectly. Bread magically appeared right after drinks and then appetizers, then soup and so on. The drinks were great. The Bees Knees was just that. The food was a bit hit or miss for me which is where the three stars come in. The beef carpaccio was out of this world. Probably one of the best if not the best I've had in the US. The lobster bisque had amazing flavor but was a bit thick and dense for my liking- it was almost a nacho cheese consistency, but still great flavor. For the main dish my husband ordered the lobster Oscar and the crab meat on top was burned but covered up by the hollandaise. I ordered the colossal Caribbean lobster. It was by far the most massive lobster tail I have ever seen. But The lobster which our server advised was fresh and brought in just hours before was a bit rubbery, lacked flavor and just tasted of paprika. They also need to use a higher quality butter for their drawn butter and their bread. It would go a long way. Overall I would give 3.5 stars if I could- but had to go with 3 because of the main course missing the mark for it being a 300$ meal for two. read more
