This is our second try here. The service was good and the indoor atmosphere is nice. Good vibe and a nice bar, even though they only serve beer and wine. The food is below average but the prices are 5 star prices. The Cesar salad is good, seafood apps were overcooked, the main entree was overcooked and bland. The bill for two of us was approx $250 and it really felt like a rip-off. We don't mind paying for quality, but this place has missed the mark twice for us. I always like to give a second chance because things can happen, but two disappointing visits here, and we won't be back. read more

My wife and I have eaten at Broil many times. Service and food have been consistently excellent. This would be another five star review were if not for our most recent experience, which could have not been more disappointing. Our waiter (Brian) seemed to be having a bad day. Our appetizers were slow to arrive, but delicious as usual. We then watched for well over 30 minutes while others, who arrived after we did, were served. When our entrees arrived, my steak (ordered medium-rare) was extremely over-cooked - brown and dried out all the way through. I should have sent it back, but we had been there so long that I ate half of it anyway. The coupe de grace - we were there on a Wino Wednesday when credits for future meals are given. The credits always matche the amount spent on wine that night. I looked at our voucher the next day and saw that our credit was at least $20.00 less than it was supposed to be. We'll be back, but certainly hoping things return to form. read more

If you'd like, steak done perfect (regardless of cut.) you have to stop by this amazing place. The service is excellent. The plating is superb. The menu choices give you plenty of options and they are consistently cooked to perfection. Our last night dinner in this area did not disappoint! Broil is a hidden, incredible spot for higher end food. It's definitely a recommended splurge. We sat outside and loved the vibes outside. It feels so tropical and it's gorgeous out there. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. He also helped with wine pairings! Started with the onion rings which were delicious and served with an amazing house sauce on the side. I had the Steak Sinatra which was filet mignonettes with lobster mash and fried asparagus. Good food, but some crazy prices. I was not a fan of the 'gimmick' of serving the meals with silver cloches on the plates and then rattling and clacking them before lodrinf them - like a drumroll? I thought it was annoying. Only beer and wine - $16 for a glass of wine so I didn't bother. We opted for the $11 fresh oj mimosa. Desserts were delicious - dark chocolate creme brule and a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. Bill for 3 mimosas, 2 entrees and 2 desserts was $177 before tip. A one night splurge. read more

This incredible boutique restaurant is in the top three favorite places to eat in the whole United States. The ambiance reminds me of the classic movie, "Key Largo," with the feeling of shelter in anticipation of an oncoming hurricane. No! I have not had that experience as of yet, but I do do love that movie, with two of my favorite actors from that era. The owner, Brad, is the best host! He makes everyone feel like family. He makes the deserts and pastries himself, each day. The staff is top notch. So personable, and deliver a stellar, unique presentation. I wont be a spoiler, however, there are things that I will call "icing" in the entire experience of being at Broil. This place is not to be missed. I like the atmosphere at this place, nice white table clothes, the dark wood and low light. It feels premium. Definitely upscale for the keys, but with a super sociable feel. It's a small space, but can accommodate both large and small groups. The food was amazing and worth the money. Has a good wine list with premium selections. Leave room for dessert! We went to eat at Broil this past Thursday night. We had heard that Broil was a great place to eat, but it exceeded our expectations. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. Our baked potato was huge and delicious. We loved the carrot cake which was made from a family recipe. The ambiance was wonderful too! We loved how all of the wait staff worked together clearly plates, etc. We could see that the family that owns Broil are hands on and are very proud of their restaurant. Our only regret is that we ate at Broil at the end of our monthly stay at BWK. read more

Wow, just wow. One of the best meals I've had! Last minute decision to go from an uber driver recommendation and now it's going to be a staple spot every Keys trip. Lacey and Claudia were sooo kind and attentive, my glass was never empty and my empty plates were never on the table for long. The food was also just fantastic. The escargot was delightful and the pastry on top was perfect cooked, one of the better dishes I've had of escargot. The salad was spectacular, the lettuce was very fresh and the dressing HAD to be made in house cause I've never had such a high quality Caesar dressing. Just when I thought I couldn't eat anymore, my perfectly cooked 12oz filet and the largest (not even exaggerating) lobster tail I've ever been served came out and I had to eat every bite. And just when I thought I had to tap out from eating, they mentioned carrot cake and I knew I had to make space for it and so glad I did. We enjoyed the best meal of our trip at Broil. Every course was perfection. I opted for the freshly made Caesar salad. It was exceptionally good. The dressing was lovely and tart, and the housemade croutons made the salad extra special. My husband had the house salad, which was very attractively presented and filled with fresh ingredients. Choosing an entree was quite difficult since several of them sounded delicious. I chose the steak Sinatra, which consisted of 3 small filets over lobster mashed potatoes and topped with lobster newburg and French fried asparagus spears. The dish also came with an additional side. My husband went with the swordfish, which he really enjoyed. Even though we were stuffed, we decided to share a dessert. Their selections were all made in- house. We chose chocolate crème brûlée. It was fantastic, and paired really well with our Zinfandel and Malbec wine choices. Broil surprised us a bit, as we had driven by it several times, and we weren't prepared for how lovely it was inside. They have the loveliest colorful lamps on each table. This is gem of a place. We have eaten here twice in the past 60 days and are planning another visit. The food each time has been excellent, as has the service. On our most recent visit my medium ordered strip ended up medium well. The waiter asked how the food was, I noted that they had missed medium but I was fine - it was truly OK. Without any prompting they did a reburn and made me a new steak. I would have been fine with a comped desert or glass of port but they went the full measure. A nice touch to say the least. This place can hold it's head in any city in the country. In the keys the service and sometimes the food can be just OK "it's the islands Mon" but Broil shines. It's a hidden gem for sure. read more

A little out of the way if you're staying in Key West, about 20-30 mins, but 100% worth it! The food, service, and ambiance were all 10/10. I had the French fried oysters appetizer and pink shrimp entree and they were delicious. I love to leave amazing 5 star reviews at 5 star restaurants. There were 4 of us in our party for dinner. She was knowledgeable of the menu and she was fast and has a great attitude. The only appetizer we ordered was the Scallops and wow they were amazing with the mango chutney sauce. Salads all on par with the prices now our dinners we ordered the Bone in ribeye steak medium rare , 2 filets medium medium rare and the broiled fish. Now I am trying not to slam the dinners so I will talk about the premium side of the fried Brussels sprouts! Wow those were tasty and delicious! Fish was good and no complaints there. Now the steaks were the issue all 3 were barely cooked and all were raw inside. 2 of us sent the steaks back and explained that we would prefer them cooked inside. Now you would think if it comes back that there is no way that the chef would return a steak back raw but unfortunately our chef tonight decided to not finish the steaks as required. The bone in rib-eye I order often at restaurants all over and this was by far the worst one I have ever not been able to actually cut or eat. The owner/manager came by to ask how our meal was and I tried to explain without being too loud that we were not happy. Now this is where I was turned off the most instead of saying what is the issue or what can I do to make your experience better or to at-least try to make us happy. He walked away shaking his head. Our server took the 80 dollar bone in steak off the check and that was nice considering it was not edible but the manager owner I was very surprised to see such a reaction. Now I am a business owner myself and I of course don't like to hear complaints when a client is unhappy but how you handle that issue is crucial on how your business grows or sputters. Our 450 dollar dinner was not worth it that's for sure as a matter of fact it wasn't worth half that to be honest. This meal was with zero alcohol maybe if you go drink a lot ?? So you don't realize the main courses aren't cooked? I really wanted to give this place an amazing review because the competition had a 2 hour wait and here there was zero wait for outside and a 10-15 minute wait indoor. My advice to management is this if someone receives raw food offer to remake it instead of crediting it and if you have to send it back twice do something extraordinary to earn a repeat shot at this customer. I believe the quality of the beef was an issue. The rib-eye was so full of tendons their steak knife couldn't cut through it had to tear and work at it to get through the entire piece ?? I doubt very highly I will ever return. Maybe that's what he wants?? Customers that maybe don't know what good food really is? I read a bunch of reviews before we went and I thought I can't wait to help this place out and smash the other poor reviews but in the end the main dishes were just sub par. read more
