Absolutely the best Greek salad I've ever had. Everything we ordered was delicious and our server was amazing.

We love Bobalus! The food is always fresh and the owner makes all these delicious cakes and pies! The service is great also!

3 stars for the benefit of doubt. I've only had one experience. Place appeared clean and colorful, and the bartender was kind even though she was extremely busy and working alone. I ordered a Sierra Nevada bottle and a seafood pizza. The beer was ok temperature wise but could have been a lot colder. The pizza was overcooked which made the crust very dry and tough. I was disappointed in the amount of toppings. There may have been a total of 2 large shrimp that were diced up, maybe 3-4 if they were small shrimp. You can see in the picture how dark the crust is and how the cheese has burnt. The white chunks are the shrimp. It was called a seafood pizza and in reality it should be called a shrimp pizza. My bill was $30. I found that a bit elevated for what I received. This makes it a bit difficult for us locals. read more

Ouch, this was very disappointing. We had high hopes as this was recommended by a few friends. When we walked in, it was hotter inside than outside. It was bearable though so we ordered. Wife had the whole snapper and I had a patty melt. The patty melt was a 2 out of 10 and the fries were mushy and cold. The snapper was done well but the whole experience was absolutely ruined because they had the doors open. Within minutes of getting our food, we had so many flies around us, it felt like we were next to a dumpster. Horrible. We should have taken a hint when we were the only customers on a Friday at 5pm. read more

This place was great a year ago, but was recently sold, and has obviously suffered. It used to be a must go place for awesomely delicious "Connecticut style" pizza in The Keys, but now it is a very average pie for above average price. Kitchen was very slow as well. It took one hour to get just appetizers. Besides the pizzas, food was typical Keys heavily breaded and fried fare. Whatever! You're better off going Mangrove Mammas, which at leas has a full bar. Cute little place to stop by and have a drink in Big Coppitt. Vampires BEWARE!!! I ordered the pie with cheese, tomato, and basil with spinach and extra sauce. There was no extra sauce and there was at LEAST 1/4 cup (probably more) minced garlic on the top of the pizza! Totally inedible even after scraping off all of the toppings. Crust was cooked good but it would have benefitted had salt been added to it. I have heard a lot of good reviews about this place from locals, however I was more than disappointed. read more

Our experience here was in Feb 2014 and it was a good one. We had a large group of 14 and chose to sit outside on a mild night. We were quickly brought pitchers of beer and orders were taken by friendly servers. The food took a bit to arrive but that was to be expected with a group our size. Julio and his peeps have been to Bobalous several times over the past ten years, and the results have been good, food, service, atmosphere etc. So when we went there on Saturday night 1/23/16 we expected another good experience. We had visitors with us who had flown in from different states, and we had told them how much we had enjoyed eating here. When we arrived there were about 16 people eating in the restaurant and 4 or 5 people working there. There was a table for 6 sitting clean and empty, 6 tables for 4 sitting clean and empty within our view from the front door, and some smaller tables/and or bar seats open. The max occupancy is rated at 60, so we figured we would be eating dinner pretty quick. When we walked in a woman hollered to us as she scurried by on the way to the kitchen, "how many?" We replied six. "You'll have to wait about five minutes." So, about five minutes later, a young man said, "how many?" We replied, 6. He said, "oh, okay, give me about five minutes". Then, about 5 minutes later, a different young lady said, "are you waiting for a table?" We said amazingly, yes, we are. She said "oh oh, hold on." By this time, a party of two had entered the restaurant and been seated, a party of four had been seated, two individuals had been seated, and then two guys who were obviously military had come in, and the first woman we had talked to told them to "be good tonite, she didn't want any trouble this time", and after some discussion she found them some seats. Then she returned to us and said, "how many in your party", as she rushed back to the kitchen. We said still just the six, and she said something like, "it'll be awhile , we are slammed tonite". We noticed there were still several empty tables including several fours and the one for six still available. I think maybe they were out of menus, seating for 60 but menus for 27? Or, silverware, or dishes, or who knows what..........? We turned around and headed for the door, and said well it looks like you all are too busy for us tonite. A man just coming in said " oh, but the foods good, you will like it". We said, we know, but every other time here we could find a seat, but not tonite. So Homies advice here is, like most any restaurant, if they have you wait, and you can see a lot of clean, empty tables, and they are not being used, then something is wrong, and Homie doesn't like wrong food or wrong service. We went down the road to Hurricane Hole,were seated immediately, and the food and service were great. Had menus and silverware too, and they weren't slamed by 27 people in attendance. read more

While in key west we decided to grab food before we left the area. But after seeing the hordes of humanity roaming and not wanting to pay $35 to park again we heading out. We found this place on the way back out. It didn't look like much from outside but the food and service are incredible. read more

After talking with some of the locals this place came recommended and we were glad we stopped in. Tina and her staff greeted us with a smile and a cold drink! That visit was only for a drink and dessert! But man was it good! Not being from the keys we had the Key Lime Pie. A hard choice because all the fresh homemade deserts Tina makes all looked amazing. We came back the next night for dinner. When we entered it was like we were family!Dinner was amazing! Prime Rib and stuffed Hog fish. Deserts... I adore this place! The staff is fun and friendly and always welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. I can't think of anything that we've eaten here that hasn't skyrocketed for us. The barbecue sandwich is surprisingly, as was the fish basket, the fries, the turkey and dressing with all the fixings, and the fried green tomatoes with a spicy mayo sauce is very memorable. We're still working our way through the menu and can't wait to try the meatloaf, the fried chicken, more fish dishes, and particularly the pizza. Great place for locals too. My only knock about it is their hours of operation are a bit wonky. The owners take too long of vacations, which makes us have to go other places to eat when all we want is Bobalou's! LOL! read more

This place is great! Extra large portion sizes, they have a 9oz burger.. we also ordered the southern fried chicken dinner came with 4 pieces. the sweet potato casserole is awesome!! And finally we ordered a pizza.. its fantastic! And the best part very reasonably priced!!!! read more

Hidden gem. We found this place driving back fro EcoTours. Food and service were both good! Portions were plentiful. My husband had pork BBQ, I had a chicken Parmesan sub and our son had a chicken wrap. Will definitely visit again when we come back to Key West. read more
