Went to visit the kid who was working at the Boy Scout Base for the summer nearby. This was his suggestion. It was a great little restaurant. With so many fish places in the Key's I can't imagine a place that does fish badly will survive. I got a grouper sandwhich. The Sandwich was a good. The fish was firm and flaky in all the right ways a white fish should be. Great little place, only problem is that with the keys being so hot and humid, in the main dining room, it was a bit warmer and more humid than one would like in a restaurant. Good food and worth the visit.

Great fresh food and great service. Laid back atmosphere with spacious indoor and outdoor seating. I would highly recommend stopping and trying if you're passing through sugarloaf key. They also have happy hour drinks 3-6 m-f.

We came here in February, this is the end of May and ordered the same thing! Exactly the same! Absolutely delicious! This food is like a high class restaurant, but casual! Very old Florida look. We always sit at the bar and we always have excellent service. We will come here over and over!

    Wahoo, zucchini and mashed potatoes.

Delightful spot with excellent service. We enjoyed the Wahoo. Mine was lightly blacken and my partner's was panko-crusted. Both plates were prepared quickly and piping hot!! The fish, zucchini and mashed potatoes were fllavorful. However, I did not care for their Key lime pie. The crust tasted like it had a spice in it that detracted from the experience. The accompanying guitarist was excellent and chatted with the customers. We will definitely return.

Last stop before Key West. Blackened Mahi sandwich and tacos were perfect. Fries were crispy and not oily. Fast friendly service.

With new owners at the helm, the food is very good. Service is great. And the live music is always worth enjoying.

Nice music. Food was just ok but they did have some interesting choices on the menu! We loved the conch fritters.

So if you wanna save a little bit of money by stay here and drive into Key West that'll be fine. 2. It's right on the water so you can just wake up and look out the patio to see the water right there. 3. Comfy mattress. 4. Mini fridge Drawbacks: 1. No in-room microwave, to use a microwave we need to move our ass to the reception area which were like 3 minutes away. No big deal walking there but for a small place like charging $180/night could definitely afford to put a microwave in the room. 2. In room mosquitoes, I got mosquito bites and saw a mosquito flying near the bathroom sink. OK, so bugs are part of life in FL but mosquitoes spray doesn't cost that much $$$ and would make our stay more pleasant cuz it's like we were camping at a park and got mosquito bites, know what I mean? 3. Can't see the sunrise from here. It's not like within walking distance to see the unobstructed view of sunrise from this hotel. You'll probably have to get in your car and drive about 15' to get to a spot to see sunrise. A big inconvenience if you're hoping to catch a glimpse of it first thing in the morning. Dont get me wrong, you can still see it if you stand near the road in front of the hotel but the view is obstructed by trees.

What keeps me coming back is Traci the barmaid, who works on weekends which is when I tend to go there. She's the most wonderful person ever. The most professional, enjoyably funny down to earth barmaid in the Florida Keys. She's smart, so well versed in conversation (if you need someone to talk to she will look at you with her knowing eyes and you'll order another), and has such a sarcastic charisma for just making you feel like you want to be there. Her strong willed no nonsense attitude and genuinely easy going humorous nature should be a watermark for all. I'd vote for her. Traci is a gold star! I kept thinking, "till Big Pine Key, I've seen so many waterfront restaurants--so let's just head toward Key West, and if something looks tempting, we'll stop." That's when we spotted Kiki's. The big, bold sign caught my eye, and we took a right turn Parking was easy (lots of space), and the place had that classic tropical vibe--laid back, colorful, and vibing. The restaurant has two floors of dining plus outdoor seating. Near the entrance, there's a small stage for live music and a bunch of bright Adirondack chairs that really add to the chill atmosphere. signs for big cities (like 2000 miles to Quebec, haha) We got our table quickly, and since we were trying to make it to Mallory Square in time for sunset, we let our server know we were in a bit of a rush. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great, and we ended up spending about 55 minutes there, which felt longer than expected given our timing. We ordered: * Mahi Basket: - really good, and my wife loved it. * Snapper Sandwich: with crunchy fries and sauce - solid and satisfying, also great fish Overall, the food was good, the vibe was matching, and the whole setting was really nice--just the service didn't quite match. But honestly, if we hadn't been in a hurry, it probably wouldn't have bothered us. They also have a pier for boat parking, a small gift shop, and air conditioned bathrooms (haha). Nice spot!
