Gosh I was so disappointed with this place!! It's basically the pool side restaurant for the courtyard Faro Blanco. We stopped by for dinner yesterday. The place was basically dead at around 630 pm. That should have been our first red flag. Their menu actually looks a lot better than the lighthouse grill, but ugh everything really sucked. I had the plantains with pink salsa. The plantains were stale and not crispy. The pink salsa was really delicious though and that's the only reason this place got the extra star from me. For $10, the portion size sucked honestly. Ragz and I shared the fish tacos. I opted for fried fish. The whole thing was silly. The taco shells were almost inedible corn that was so hard and chewy that we ended up eating just the filling. The fish was unidentifiable given how thick the breading was. There was not enough fish in each taco. Similarly there was not enough slaw, which seemed decent to eat. Overall a total waste of money ($26). Service was iffy at best. The server seemed nice to chat with but also seemed very new/ spaced out. Kept asking my husband to get another beer though he repeatedly said no. Gave us menus that looked like a shark ate them ( they were wet and chewed out). Forgot to get us any silverware or napkins. I'd honestly stay away from here. Not worth the time, money or calories. read more

From indoor breakfast to outdoor lunch, everything we have for the most part what's good specially the drinks. Obviously the bar outside had a beautiful view and you can order to eat by the pool or have table service. The lavender pineapple drink was delicious and I had a few of those. I did enjoy the conch fritters. Kids enjoyed the pizza and tenders, burger was also pretty good. Just don't order the mariquitas (plantain chips) those were gross. read more

Blue Waters Grill is located inside the Courtyard by Marriott hotel . While the food quality is average , the poolside and ocean views coupled with the nightly live music make this the perfect spot to spend the day soaking up the sun or taking in the sunset. The menu features pizza, tacos, salads & more. We ate here for both lunch and dinner in the same day and the food was good , not great. The service was also pretty good - there was only one bartender who was on her own "island time" and she barely acknowledged us and did not do a good job making our specialty cocktails. However , we gravitated towards the other bartenders (one named Eric and a female with pretty red hair) and they really did a great job and we appreciated their customer service. Pro tip: although no signs are present , there is an adjoining beach front with hammocks and a fire pit! We stumbled upon this and really enjoyed lounging in the hammocks at night and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit (you can purchase s'mores kits at the front desk gift shop). It's at the end of the pool to your right if you are facing the ocean . Also , make sure to stop by in the evening because they do a cute little ceremony where they celebrate the transition of daytime to evening . You get a chance to write down something stressful and throw it in a fire pit that they release to the ocean ! (It's on a chain , no hazard to wildlife or ecosystem). The bar also offers a free cocktail during this time as well . PS: if you see an iguana , don't feed it ! You will be endangering its life by doing so and there are signs posted prohibiting it. We were placed to sit in the exterior of the restaurant and waited an hour for our food. Although most of the staff was nice and attentive one of the main waiters Yadira wasn't the most pleasant to deal with. I understand fully that dealing with the public can be overwhelming and stressful at times but her attitude wasn't the best. During our waiting time one of our friends asked how much longer and her response was confrontational and uncalled for. Putting that experience to the side food was good. read more

I stopped in for a quick drink while my family was taking a tour at the nearby turtle hospital. The bar and the adjacent area overlooking the ocean/gulf was beautiful. My bartender, Jacklyn was really nice and friendly. I saw her answer multiple people's questions about the resort and things to see and do in and around Marathon, Florida. Great beautiful relaxing place for an afternoon libation and if you're lucky maybe Jacklyn will be on duty. read more

We stayed at the attached hotel for a week. So we would head down to the pool to relax, order food and have some drinks after a hard day of vacationing. The food is fine, nothing too exciting but they can make some killer drinks. "San Diego" Kevin knows how to pour a mean drink and "Jerry" aka Chad (real name) was very attentive and always in a good mood. They have nightly special drinks for the hotel guests, which is great because to can just stumble back to your room (true story). The sunsets are some of the best I've ever experienced. And the nightly lighting of the large tiki torches is fun too. read more

We are staying at this amazingly fun Marriott resort. Lucky us! This restaurant is really tasty, tropical, and such great service!! We had cocktails last night for their sunset celebration. I tried the signature Eventide in a coconut cocktail. WOW. YUMMM We tried the cheeseburger & fries. The Caesar salad with mahi mahi. Margarita pizza. The mahi mahi tacos. Great food. So tasty. Blue Waters is the bar and grill at the Marriott Hotel in Marathon. We got drinks here each night of our stay on a recent trip. The hotel charges a $25 dollar resort fee, but this is really a credit that can be applied to various food/drink options, including the offerings at Blue Waters. My husband and I tried the Mai Tai, Rum Runner, and Passion Fruit Margarita. The drinks were very large and represented a great blend of flavors. The Marriott has a very nice pool area, including an infinity pool that overlooks the ocean, where you can enjoy your drink. If you're looking for sunset cocktails, this is a great spot! read more

If you haven't already stopped by this local hidden gem, Blue Waters Bar and Grill at the courtyard Marriott in Marathon FL, then you're missing out. Went here for dinner last night for their Valentines Day special and it was mind blowing!!!!! The presentation, the taste, the atmosphere. This was an experience that our taste buds couldn't wrap around. Their new Food and Beverage Director, Michael Eric has really elevated the experience here. Our server, Kendall, was on top of it all. We had the 4 course meal which started with some tuna wontons and jumbo lump crab cocktail, followed by an Argulua Salad with avocado, onions, tomatoes and olive oil. For dinner, we had the bone in pork chop which was super delicious and the hanger steak with carrots and sautéed brocolini. For desert, we had the Key lime pie and I got to say, out of all the areas here in Marathon, the key lime pie here is very different and by far, the best I have had. Top this off with the view of the Gulfside (or as some of you refer to, "Gulf of America") This place is more than a poolside bar/restaurant. Totally hidden paradise right here in Marathon and very deserving of 5 . Worth checking out if your new to town. read more

ZERO stars. We were COMPLETELY IGNORED by the staff without a single acknowledgment for over TEN minutes while they chatted with other guests and helped other people who came after us. Story: My wife and I checked in at the Marriott Hotel where this "restaurant" is located. The girl at the front desk told us about it, so we immediately went there after dropping off our luggage because we were hungry. We exited the back of the hotel and saw that it was a bar located outside near the pool....we weren't sure if it was the right place at first, but people were eating around the pool. They didn't seem busy--only ONE couple were eating at the bar. While my wife and son sat down and waited, I went to the bar and leaned on the counter top and patiently waited for some to come over and maybe give us a menu or ask what I wanted....I was completely ignored. Behind the bar was an young girl and an older man. The man was preoccupied with getting new ice, and the girl was doing various tasks. Several times they looked up at me and made eye contact but said NOTHING.... Not a "Hi" or a "Be right with you." Nothing. After the man finished filling the ice, he walked past me over to the only other couple at the bar and brought them a beer and starting chatting about something. Then he went back to doing some other tasks. At this point, I had been waiting for about TEN minutes without a single acknowledgement. SUDDENLY, a young attractive couple walked up to the bar after getting out of the pool. The girl working here RAN RIGHT OVER to talk to them. Even the guy sitting at the bar looked over at me, confused, while I threw up my hands. My wife, who witnessed all this, got up and insisted we leave. Absolutely the rudest experience I ever had at bar, restaurant, or hotel for that matter. It tainted our entire stay at the hotel to the point that we avoided going to the pool while we were there. read more

We had dinner here while staying at the Marriott. We had fish tacos, a grouper sandwich, and key lime pie. We ordered "to go" at the bar and had a couple beers while we waited. The bartenders were very friendly and our order only took about 20 minutes. Nice experience. read more

Me and my girlfriend went to Bluewater based on the reviews. It was horrible. The service sucked. We sat at the bar for several minutes and the bartender never looked at us as she passed and focused on Spanish speaking people. She passed and I said excuse me and she just gave me a passing look and walked by. Totally rude and dismissive, we left after the bar helper kept grabbing the front of his shorts like he had an itch. Worst restaurant experience on our vacation to the keys.So between my wife, son and I, we ordered nachos APPETIZER and a chop salad to precede our main courses of 2 grouper sandwiches and crab cake platter. Everything came out at the same time. So if we ate our mains first, the nachos would turn to sludge. If we ate our app first the fish and crab cakes would get cold. When the waiter eventually returned, because the food was brought by someone else, we told him the problem and he gladly took the nachos back and off the bill. Also, at that point in time our glasses were empty and he never asked if we wanted another. So subsequently we had to go get our own. Just a TERRIBLE "restaurant" experience. $141. Wasted! read more
