A gem of a bar and restaurant! Easy and free parking nearby/onsite. We lucked out with this spot right around the corner from our rental - we were able to walk in, with no wait time, and choose our seat right on the water with a gorgeous and peaceful view. Server and bartender were very kind and welcoming with great recommendations and the food was excellent. Very reasonable prices for food and beverage and they have a happy hour that starts at 3pm daily. The homemade pizza rolls were top tier, and the tater tot nachos were also amazing - burger and shrimp sandwich were delicious. Will absolutely visit again before our trip is over. read more

Excellent food - I recommend the conch fritters and the ahi tuna. If you only have room for 1, go with the ahi! It's an appetizer, so it's not massively filling, but it is super delicious. The 4 of us went on 12/29/2025 and were so happy to be there again - we've patronized this joint several times over the years and keep coming back. The drinks are made perfectly and there's a large menu to choose from. In addition, the prices are very reasonable. When you first walk in, there's a large wrap-around bar that is usually full to the brim with happy patrons. But don't worry - walk to the other side of the bar and there's a large patio chock full of additional seating. Thankfully, the view from any angle is beautiful because you are... dockside! My first time at Dockside was Summer of 1985. Small bar with indoor and outdoor seating right on the water. Cold beer, good food, live music, friendly people. It was a community that knew each other and cared about each other. My friend's dad lived in Marathon and this was his hangout. I made several more trips over the next 10 years or so but hadn't been since around 2000. Until this year. Family Thanksgiving Trip with my wife and siblings-in-laws. I requested a stop here as we headed down A1A to Key West. They obliged. Just like i remembered it, especially the inside bar. The patio/dock has greatly expanded with a large stage and more seating. But the view and the feel is the same. The look was the same. The Mudslides were the same, except they no longer serve them in pitchers. I introduced my family to them and they enjoyed the cold, creamy goodness. We all had a hearty lunch and moved on. Don't all of you go here at once and turn it into a tourist trap. But slide in on the down-low and enjoy a true Keys experience. read more

This was a fun and easy happy hour night with beautiful views. There is no table Service except to deliver your food, you order at the bar and they bring it to your table. The food was pretty good. We had the pizza rolls, fried calamari, tuna tacos which were all delicious. We also had the steak tacos and conch fritters which were just ok. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. We are staying at the Marina just a short distance away and tried them for dinner tonight. You order at the bar all food and drink which is fine, but it seems to be more of a locals place, so a newbie like us didn't know the ropes. Once we caught on the staff was very helpful . I had read the reviews and it looked like this was a winner. However, my husband and I both had the shrimp basket and it was not good. I think the oil in the fryer needs to be replaced. The bartenders are super nice.... however... no servers. Not a place to take a family for dinner unless you like waiting on your table yourself. And the food was simply bad.. . Tacos had minimal meat, and my fish sandwich was a joke. 1/4" thick piece of Mahi on the cheapest hamburger bun possible. (I attached a picture). It's not photo shopped. I wish I would have took it when it first came out. Had to go to bar to order, go to bar to get drinks, clean my own table. Charge me 20.00 for a bad fish sandwich instead of 16.00 and hire a server I average 4.6 on my reviews... so u have to be pretty bad to get a 2 star from me. The bartenders again... very nice... saved them from getting 1 star. Lots of great places to eat in marathon so maybe this place is the local "drink spot"... so I'll try it for late night adult drinks and see if they cater to that crowd. read more

I don't know what's going on with the bar staff but the last few times we've been to the Dockside the service has been terrible. Primarily 3 female bartenders-2 blondes and a brunette. They walk right past you as if you're invisible. I can understand the complexity of managing a busy bar but when no one can be bothered to acknowledge you standing there for 10 minutes, something is wrong. The drinks are very good if you can manage to get one! I don't know if this is a staffing issue or an issue with this staff. I do know that with many other selections with less sour pusses, it's easy to walk out. I've heard similar examples from other people. I've had great service when the bar was packed and 2 guys were behind the bar. The food is good as well, again if you csn get one of these females to take your order. Overall decent spot. This is definitely a marina bar, food, and music spot for people in/around the marina, workers coming off boats, and locals. Flavorful food and good music. Beer prices were reasonable for the keys. Only downsides were smokers everywhere and the no seeums were out in force on the night we went. We have gone here for lunch, happy hour and dinner and have never been disappointed even when they are busy, the service is great. You do have to order at the bar but that is no big deal to us. Wow - what a hidden gem. We were just looking for lunch "with a view." After 3 failed Yelp attempts of places that weren't view worthy ... we stumbled across exactly what we were looking for. Low key, a view, and a laid back atmosphere. You order all food and drinks at the bar, so no waitress service, but still worth it and the bartenders are very efficient! We ordered the blackened tuna for an app. Was different (we order tuna ALL the time), but was only four pieces. Still hit the spot. We split the blacked tuna tacos and coconut shrimp. Both amazing!!!
