Bayside Gourmet is seriously the BEST!! I lived across the street for 8 months and wow wow wow. The pasta is just incredible. I'm obsessed with their massive chicken parm, there's soo much melted cheese it's amazing. Also the tortellini is from another world!! So fresh, amazing cheese, and the parmesan cream sauce is so rich and delicious. My husband had the grouper sandwich once, that was also very good. They have good beer selections. Just come here, you won't regret it!! PS, sometimes the service is slow when they're slammed during busy hours, but who cares you're in the keys and good food is worth the wait. When I researched where to get the best grouper Rubin in the aisle, Maida area the Bayside Gourmet was the most common response I got. Went there for lunch and absolutely had to say that the blackened grouper Reuben WAS all that! It was nice large sandwich, the grouper was thick and fresh and the blackened seasoning flavored it perfectly. It was served with a side of very crispy kettle chips and with my cold iced tea it was a perfect meal. The service was excellent and I love the decor from the 80s! This is definitely a destination you need to try, especially if they're blackened grouper Reuben! I look forward to the opportunity to stop back in to try something else on their menu. We were pleasantly surprised by this unassuming roadside spot. From the front it doesn't look like much - tucked in next to a sporting good and CBD/week shop. The outside was lovely with a cozy foliage lined patio. They're known for Italian food so we happily obliged. We had the lasagna with bolognese, the tortellini alla Michelangelo, shrimp de pomodoro with pasta, and Caesar salad. Everything was freshly prepared with great flavor. Worst experience ever- have been coming to BSG for years- tonight we sat in inside dining area and it was the 10th ring of Dante's Inferno! The lighting hurt your eyes, the noise level wax deafening and the food was mediocre. Have ordered the same shrimp pomodoro for every meal here -?tonight tasteless - server was very good- Jackie has been here for years and knows her job-busboy brought me back ? Same dirty fork when I asked for a replacement- this is not the same BSG that we have patronized in the past. If you blink, you miss it. The interior transports you back to the 80-90's and it's absolutely so cute! Stopped by here with the family during our August vacation in the Keys. The food was excellent and they had plenty of flash back items all around to look at, like old arcade games, record albums and movie memorabilia. The service however left much to be desired, as we got our own sodas out of the cooIer and I understand helping out each other, but a different waitress and the busboy brought our food and for the price of the entrees the side salad should come with it. Also, a small selection of bottled sodas with no refills at $3.50 a pop is ridiculous. Stop overcharging your customers and offer fountain drinks with refills. Very few 5 star rated restaurants in Islamorada but this one was easily. The waiting area had retro standup arcade games - played Ms Pac Man and got the high score. There about eight tables in the small restaurant and outside seating but way too humid out for that idea. The decor was 1980's themed with Blockbuster Video boxes on the walls in addition to retro album covers like Men at Work and Van Halen. Definitely the best food while in the Keys! We loved the outside patio. Small with 5 tables well spread out. The food was amazing. We split an entree salad as well as an entree so we could have dessert. They have amazing pasta dishes we let our waitress choose for us. Same with the desserts. She did amazing! Came here one night as I was driving through to stop and get some dinner. I was able to get parking right up front. The cashier was super nice and really helpful. Her name was Ashley and she just answered all my questions and helped me out with nothing but patience! I ordered the Chicken Angelini dish and a key lime pie to go. It didn't take long and my food was ready! The portion of the dish was great. I decided to sit outside and eat some before heading back on the road and Omg it was piping hot!!!! (Love to see it) I will say although the dish portion was great, and the chicken was nice, the "garlic white wine sauce" was not much of anything. It just tasted like oil. Nothing else. So I would maybe order again with a different sauce if possible. As for the key lime pie, I take my key lime pies seriously and this one did not disappoint!! It had more sweetness to it, which usually I am against since I firmly believe key lime pies are meant to be a perfect blend of tart and sweet, HOWEVER, this pie blew my mind because the "sweetness" came from something else and I can't put my finger on it but I loved it. Kinda tasted like the caramelized sugar used for flan, so maybe they used caramelized sugar on the crust?? Not sure what it was but I loved it. Bayside Gourmet truly is a gourmet Pizzeria and Italian restaurant. We were with a party of 11 people they served us very well the wait person was thorough and explained everything very well. We had quite an extensive order including appetizers they were able to get everything to the table quickly and deliciously. The pizza which was the meat lovers had a great crust and all the toppings were fresh not crumbles. The meatballs we're totally Epic served in a delicious marinara sauce they were large they were tender and they were seasoned perfectly. They also prepared our catch which was Swordfish and Yellow Tail they gave it to us in two different varieties and everything was excellent. This is our favorite restaurant in Islamorada by far! The ambiance, the service, and all the fun retro games make for a fun and unique experience. And the food is absolutely outstanding. Over the years especially since Covid I know things have gotten challenging for restaurants and it has caused the quality to decline for many while the prices have increased. This is not the case for Bayside and we can't help but stop here multiple times every trip! Not only some of the best food in town, but some of the best food and vibes in general. Met friends here for lunch. We sat out in the garden in the shade. What a great place! It was so relaxed. Service was superb! My friends were trying different IPA's. We ordered antipasto to share and it was HUGE. Perfect for 3 people and there was even some to take home. My friends had different sandwiches (Tavernier and Matecumbe) and said they were super yummy. Portions again were HUGE. They each took home a sandwich half. I had a single slice of pepperoni pizza which was also excellent. I was drinking a lot of water and my glass was never empty. Found this restaurant through a Reddit post and it did not disappoint! It is a seemingly popular restaurant in Islamorada - went with a group of 4 on a Monday night and it was full when we arrived for dinner at 7:20. We decided to wait the 30-40 minutes because we figured it would take just as long to find somewhere else, and the popularity seemed like a good sign. We opted for first available table and sat outside in the patio, which was nice. The inside is a small dining room so outside felt nice. We ordered some red wine and lobster bisques to kick off the meal. The lobster bisque was very creamy if you enjoy a creamier bisque. I also ordered the cavatelli with vodka sauce and added shrimp. The others in my group ordered the shrimp francese, shrimp pomodoro, and baked cavatelli bolognese. Everyone really enjoyed their order and they have huge portions here! We were very full, but had to end the meal with key lime pie, which was delicious. Great spot if you're looking for a casual and yummy meal and great service.
