I love this spot! Great vibe and happy hour. Adults only ( Square Grouper-downstairs-full service restaurant) Happy hour starts at 4:20-6 Stone crab-medium claws $5 Oysters We also had the wedge and the tuna tartare and some amazing seafood soup. All amazing It was already packed when we arrived, but we sat on the couches and dined, a nice change from the norm.

We came for happy hour and got $2 oysters, shrimp, tuna nachos, and wings. Everything was so good! I can't believe the oysters were only $2 during happy hour given how big of blue points they were. Best oysters I've ever had and biggest oysters I've ever eaten. Hands down the best meal I had while in the keys. A lot of restaurants disappointed me in the keys but not this place.

This place was amazing!! We were a large group, so we got here early since they do not take reservations. We got there around five and we could tell it was already starting to get busy parking. Our cars underneath two or three levels of boat lifts was an interesting experience lol, but definitely secure. Luckily, when we got upstairs, there was room for us to sit down right away. The views from this restaurant were spectacular. And the theme of this place is really cool. This lounge opens at 4:20 and is a nod to all the drug busts that happened at the spot (or locally). Our server brought over menus and the specials as well. I ordered a bourbon and ginger, which came out great. I also ordered 6 oysters which were delicious. We got a ton of appetizers to share. The pretzel was delicious. The burrata was good, but I I was hoping it would be mostly burrata, the amount of sides was good, but I was left wanting more cheese. The tuna tartare was by far my favorite and the most filling. Our server warned us that it was a large portion, but we were starving so three of us ordered this. We probably could've been fine with just two, maybe even one order because wow this was a hefty portion. We had to ask for more bread and chips (heads up, they're extra). Highly recommend, if you're coming with a big group get there early because by the time we left tables we're full! Plenty of room for grabbing drinks though.

I just have to start off by saying I am a huge fan of the Square Grouper restaurants. The OG one in cudjoe key is amazing but obviously far down so the fact that they opened one up here in Islamorada is just perfect when you're coming to the keys for a day trip from miami and want quality and flavorful food. They just opened up the Sunset Lounge which is the upstairs area of the restaurant and, wow, no detail was missed. The spot is absolutely gorgeous and the way it was decorated really makes it feel trendy and really inviting, whether it's for a date night or a group hangout. Check out the oyster tub it's such a beautiful sight I just wanted to jump right in and eat em all! I ALWAYS get a Key Lime Martini when I come to this joint because there's no place that makes it better. They have perfected the recipe so I recommend that drink. My bf got the one with the popsicle in it, I can't remember the name unfortunately but it's the only one on the menu with a popsicle in it so you'll know the one. I really enjoyed that one it's a close second to my key lime martini. The popsicle flavor was really good too (lol). A pretty and refreshing drink. To eat we got the patatas bravas, the conch steamed buns, the conch salad, the artichoke dip, the brussel sprouts and we got oysters. We tried all the different types of oysters and I have to say the bigger ones were my favorite. After the oysters I would say the artichoke dip was my next favorite. If you mix it with the pico it's such a delicious blend of hot and cold, ugh -- heaven! The patatas and conch buns would come next. They were both tasty, the patatas had a really rich and flavorful sauce, while the conch buns (came with 2) were small but satisfying. I personally would have wanted more sauce on it but hey, I'm Italian, I want more sauce on everything. The Brussel sprouts were a mixed reaction. I personally loved the way they were served, they were like shredded and nutty with kind of an Asian inspired taste? I liked them, but my bf I think was expecting more classic balsamic-y type so I would recommend but they're not like traditional I would say. My least favorite dish was the conch salad. It was just a little too bland for me. I would have wanted to add some hot sauce and maybe had the conch sitting in the mixture for longer so it could soak up the flavors? I don't know it just wasn't there for a memorable factor. Overall, this is a great place for like tapas since it is a limited menu. I left so full and so happy with what we ordered. 10/10 would recommend this place and will definitely be back!

We love both locations of square grouper and moved out of the keys before they opened sunset lounge. Now we're are back, you know we had to try it! It was a Friday in season, so it was packed. It's open seating everywhere which is awesome, but all the tables were taken and the bar was full. No worries though because they had a lounge/couch area with tables that they said we could get served at. Started off with Mary Jane's cooler which was delicious and the watermelon ice cubes were great. We ordered the white conch chowder, which you don't see at all in the keys. I have only ever seen it at Havana Jack's on KCB. I am not a fan of the Bahamian red conch chowder so when I see white conch chowder I get it. I was not disappointed one bit! Good amount of conch, it was smokey with bacon, potato's and the consistency was perfect. It came with house made chips that had old bay seasoning which is my favorite. It also came with crushed up buttered crackers in the middle and those were awesome as well. When in FL and in season Stone crabs are a must! They are my favorite thing to eat... EVER! Stone crabs were great. We love oysters and they were on happy hour for $2 a piece for the blue points. Blue points for me have been hit or miss and these were a miss for my taste. I like briny oysters and these weren't so much, but they were still plump as juicy. We have friends coming in next week and we will be bringing them back for sure!

We visit Sunset Lounge whenever we are in Islamorada. It is our favorite place for tapas and drinks. The bartenders, especially James, are very accommodating and always make sure you are enjoying your time there. James wants to always ensure that your drink meets every expectation. I specifically like when he makes me something special for me to try. I highly recommend the Sunset Lounge and Square Grouper. Be sure to ask for James upstairs.

A beautiful restaurant upstairs from the square grouper. Great view and amazing vibe, the food is tapas style and usually meant to be shared plates. I will warm you that most items were on the spicy side, even the lobster roll was spicy so if you are not a fan of spice I would stick with the burrata salad. Otherwise, if heat is your thing... you will be in heaven. Service was a solid 10 as well, a very attentive staff.

We arrived a little before 5. Perfect timing because the crowds arrived shortly thereafter.

Knowing how amazing Square Grouper is, I only expected the same from their Sunset Lounge. As I thought, the food, service and views did not disappoint! They serve small plates/tapas and have a full bar. The decor is coastal chic. I'm in love with the hallway to the restrooms! We had the brie served warm in a flaky pastry drizzled with honey and side of slice strawberries and green apples. My most happiest moment was to find out that stone crab claws are $5 each during hh. Wt?? Service was on point! Thank you for adding another great experience to my weekend getaway.

Located on the 3rd floor above the wonderful Square Grouper is the new Sunset Lounge. A great view that accompanies you with an extensive drink menu and delectable delights. Open 4:20 pm till 11 pm.

Sunset Sunset Sunset In the air conditioning! Sunset Lounge is the perfect place to go to see the sunset from three story's up. Sunset lounge is a upstairs lounge owned by the Square Grouper. Read the reviews on Square Grouper, and then put a raw bar and a view over the bay and you have a incredible place to enjoy the evening.

The fried fisherman's platter was okay but lacked flavor on many items (just tasted like fried batter) and there wasn't many shrimp (maybe four); it was mostly small clam and calamari pieces. The fried fish was pretty good. For us, this restaurant was all about the views and outdoor Keys vibe, but the food while not bad, could've been better. I've seen many people say Lazy Days has really good food, so I'll give them a pass and assume we just didn't get their best when we stopped last week for lunch.

Food and drinks are strangely combined and confusingly seasoned. We tried the Spicy Margarita and…read moreLazy Smash for drinks. The Spicy Margarita says it's made with jalapeño tequila, but the flavor was like they added muddled jalapeño peppers. Not super spicy just *really* strong jalapeño flavor; it was gross. The Lazy Smash had so much Key lime juice that the whole drink was just bitter. We didn't finish either drink. For entrees, we had the Steak Teriyaki and the special Lobster Lorenzo. Teriyaki sauce had some kind of Indian spice added - curry powder? turmeric? - whatever it was it tasted like a teriyaki/marsala. It was odd. The Lobster Lorenzo is a split lobster tail that is breaded and fried, topped with a giant crab cake and sauce. The crab cake and sauce were amazing, the lobster was tough and chewy. I can't really comment on the server, since we had three different guys between the drink orders, the food order, food delivery, and the check. Scenery is nice and the restaurant itself is well decorated and inviting next to the water. But the food and drinks are definitely not worth the price. There are lots of other great choices in the Keys.
