We come every week for trivia on Thursday nights. It's so much fun and the service is great. We love the new menu and really enjoyed some of the new items. The view is the best in Islamorada! You got to try it!

Sand Bar has only recently opened. It's on the second floor above the Seafood Buffet of Whale Harbor, but fortunately there is an elevator on the outside just to the left of the Seafood Buffet entrance. Sand Bar has an immaculate update decor loaded with nautical themes. It's really gorgeous and with ocean views second to none. If for no other reason the beautiful views make Sand Bar worth a stop by. But all of that goodness is pretty much wasted by a series of horrible downsides. By the time I got the bartenders attention it was 7:05pm; so no Happy Hour for me as Happy hour comes to an abrupt end at 7:00pm. Worse however was the pour. My partner ordered a Scotch the rocks but the chintzy miserly pour turned out to be barely visible and disappeared within a single sip. Then there is the culinary amusing Happy Hour menu consisting of little more than French Bread Pizza (really?), wings and the typical peel and eat shrimp. But the thing that was the big turn off to me was their live music; a single guitarist with a voice of gravel singing, not Caribbean, Buffet Parrot Head, or reggae, but instead hillbilly West Virginia. Like who would come here, to the Keys, to listen to that crap?

The peel and eat shrimp was amazing! Beautiful view and chill vibes with the live music and ocean breeze.

Saturday afternoon vibes...we were on our way to the BBQ event and the traffic was crazy. We had a 2+ hour drive for a 1 hour distance. After driving a long time we decided to stop here enjoy a drink and were going to decide to continue on the drive or just enjoy the place. We stayed for a few drinks, a snack and then late lunch/early dinner at the restaurant next door. So, let's talk a little about the experience...we were welcomed by the staff who was really pleasant. The view was beautiful and the locals were welcoming. Topics of conversation and things we should note. We ordered a couple of margaritas and these were really good. The human ordered a pizza and it was delicious. The best part of this all was the view. There was shade. There was a breeze. It was a great experience.

    Beautiful view

Great stop to enjoy an outdoor happy hour. The service was superb and the view even better. We had fries and beverages and it was perfect.

Rooftop bar with live music, cheese pizza, and light beer while lounging on their cozy and cute love seats is how we enjoyed our Friday night here. No complaints!

Breeezy and Boozy!!! Finished a morning fishing charter at the Wahoo docks and walked over to this third floor bar. Bright and colorful decor. Amazing waterfront view of the ocean AND entertained myself watching all the sport boats return to base and display their daily catchings. Wonderful breeze. Live music! Sampled some crispy, seasoned french fries to munch on...almost ate the whole basket myself! I'd go back everyday if I was local. Definitely will be adding this to my necessary visit each vacation. Couldn't have asked for a better way to end my day!

We stumbled across Pierre's Lounge & Restaurant at Morada Bay, and honestly, this place is a hidden gem. It doesn't seem to pop up in a lot of the Islamorada food videos, but it has killer reviews on OpenTable, and we experienced why. Pierre's is located inside a beautiful two-story colonial-style house overlooking Florida Bay. It has that vintage, old Florida feel, with beautiful views of the beach and water. We were seated inside at a table overlooking the bay, and between the view, the service, and the food, it ended up being one of the best meals of the trip. We did the Chef's 6-Course Tasting Menu, and every course was great. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly. The tasting included butter lettuce with hearts of palm and green goddess dressing, scallop and Florida pink shrimp ceviche, Hudson Valley foie gras, pan roasted branzino, chargrilled lamb chops, and a key lime tart to finish. The branzino and lamb chops were both standouts, every bite was better than the last. I washed it down with a couple Smoked Sailor Old Fashioneds, made with Mount Gay Triple Cask XO, bourbon. My favorite rum and it made for a great cocktail. If you're in Islamorada and looking for a spot with beautiful views, a vintage vibe, great service, and great food, check out Pierre's.

The menu is extensive with any Italian appetizer, pasta, or main dish you could think of. They also have pizza which seems very popular. We both started with a house salad; It was fresh and tasty. For our main course, I had the Spicy Shrimp fra Diavola and my wife had the lasagna. We both commented on the incredible flavor of the pasta itself (mine was served over spaghetti.) I don't ever remember eating at an Italian restaurant where the flavor of the pasta was so memorable. My entree had large gulf shrimp in a spicy marinara sauce. It was noticeably spicy and tasted great. I tasted the lasagna which was also among the best I have had. If you are looking for Italian in the Key Largo area, I highly recommend the Italian Food Co. We stopped back before we left Key Largo. We shared a large house salad and a "meatball panini" (aka, a meatball calzone.). It was great and large; the two of us didn't finish it! To top off the evening we shared an espresso with ice cream. Our second trip not reinforced the first; just go & enjoy!

Lots of outdoor seating and plenty inside too. Pro tip- wear long pants and bring a light long sleeve top. I get eaten up by mosquitos every time. It's a fun, chill atmosphere. Food: only reason I took a star off is the price has gotten very expensive. 2 entrees, 1 app, 1 mocktail was about $150. The fish dip was sooo good!!!, but again, pricy at $20. I got the fried coconut shrimp basket which comes with a few hush puppies that are pretty large in size and french fries. The taste for all of it was very good. My husband got hog fish w/ rice and veg medley and it was good, he loved the rice, but again pricy at mid $40's. All in all, this is always a great place to come!

We settled on conch fritters and simple cheeseburger. Burger was $21.00 and was just so-so. Conch fritters were $19.00 but they were excellent. Large portion and actually had conch inside, not just breading. We like to sit at the bar and enjoy the music but it was honestly too rowdy of a band for a 6 pm family crowd. We heard one family ask to be seated inside because the music was too loud. Whatever happened to the nice Island vibe for your music? Bring back some acoustic musicians please..
