What an experience!! My bf and I had an amazing Valentine's Day here, perfect way to close out the weekend. I really wanna give a shout out to Pedro who really looked after us to make sure we had an incredible experience. He made sure to come to our table to take the perfect picture at sunset and always came in to drop by and see how everything was tasting. The bread was warm and fresh served with whipped butter, it was the perfect amount and it tasted so good. Crab dip was amazing with the pita bread. The snapper was well seasoned served with red pepper sauce it was the perfect combination. To end the night with the cheesecake, the portion is perfect for two to share.

Stayed at the resort for the weekend and ate at this restaurant once for dinner and twice for breakfast. Breakfast was good but nothing spectacular. The first breakfast we had good service and food was good, we had the avocado toast and all American breakfast as well as mimosas and the green juice. For our second breakfast, we did not have a good experience. First of all, we had a terrible experience with the female manager who (in a terrible way) informed one of the people in our party that they couldn't order a meal off the kids menu. She just had mouth surgery and can't eat much so we didn't want to have to pay for a full meal that she wasn't going to eat all of. The reasons she gave us for not being able to order the meal were stupid and unprofessional. Our server also barely gave us a second thought. Took forever to get her attention and ask for things/the bill. We had a much better experience for dinner. Angelina was our server and she was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience, to the point that she even let us use her own personal bug spray because we were getting attacked by mosquitos. She offered to take numerous pictures of us as the sun was setting and actually took good pictures! The food and drinks were mouth watering. Everything we ordered was sooo yummy. We really had an amazing dinner experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the views....at sunset are to die for!! Make sure to ask for a seat outside in the sand, under the twinkle lights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This a review for breakfast. Parking was easy and its a short walk to the restaurant. We got seated quickly at an out door table. The view was great. They are quick to refill your water but not so quick the coffee. The food was generally very good. A few minor items that we didn't feel needed correction. My son had an undercooked poached egg and the avocado toast was more arugula than avocado, otherwise no complaints. We were a party of five and there was a 20% service charge on the bill but the usual tip percentages recommended. This wasn't explained, or noted and honestly, I couldn't be bothered to ask. Just a bit annoying. Despite these minor annoyances, the location, view, and general decent quality of the food made for a nice breakfast.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're in Marathon, this spot is an absolute must-visit. There's simply no better place to watch the sunset--the views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is incredible, and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said, the food isn't the main attraction. It's decent, but nothing that would bring me back on its own. We all finished our meals, so it's not that anything was bad--I was just expecting more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'd definitely return with someone who hasn't been before because the setting is that stunning, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit solo. Come for the views and ambiance--you won't be disappointed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Side note: it is a little annoying watching the sunset and people gathering near your table but what are you going to do about it??[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

WE are staying at Isla Bella so we did dinner one night for our anniversary and then breakfast the next day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Both times we sat on the covered patio to take in the water views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great for dinner slightly slow for breakfast but I chuck it up to them being busier and rolling into the weekend. The food was delicious and when we come back we would eat here again.

I love this place but I definitely got food poisoning last night from my shrimp Alfredo dish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a beautiful location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Let's see if I am contacted by the restaurant.

There were multiple areas where Mahina fell flat. We originally called to update our reservation from four to five and were told that wouldn't be possible due to four-seating tables. Upon arrival we notified the restaurant of our party size increase and were seated, without issue, at a SIX-seater. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beyond that mild annoyance, the main thing we noticed was that restaurant emitted a strange odor, similar to a public restroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was okay. But the food was mediocre, at best. One person in our party sent their food back because it was not prepared as requested. When the food returned, it was still prepared incorrectly. I ordered the jumbo coconut guava shrimp (app) and coconut rice (side), which came up to about $28 which was overpriced for the quality. The shrimp was under cooked and partially mushy in areas. I also ordered the butterscotch and dark chocolate lava cake which didn't flow at all. The lump crab cake was also mildly disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food and service! House is the most OUTSTANDING server at the place!! He deserves a raise!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was just okay overall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food could have been much better. I ordered the lobster bisque, which was extremely salty. The crab dip was mostly cream cheese with very little crab, and the appetizer took about 30 minutes to arrive. The main entrées were very disappointing. I paid $75 for a lobster tail that was very small and came with two shrimps, literally two. To make matters worse, my lobster had a hair in it. When I asked about the portion size, they claimed the lobster was 7 oz, which honestly didn't seem accurate. They ended up bringing out a different fish for me, but it tasted like catfish. My entrée was also incorrect--I asked for jasmine rice and was served mashed potatoes instead. My husband's ribeye wasn't good either and looked very chewy. Service was inconsistent. The server would check in and then disappear for about 20 minutes at a time. Dessert (key lime pie) was okay, but I've definitely had better.

Service was nice. We came in late for breakfast but they accommodated us. The staff was helpful in recommending a good beach spot near by.

We were staying here for the week and decided to give the restaurant on the property a try since it was too stormy to venture out. We started with a salad that was delicious. Then had the seared tuna and fried snapper both of which were fantastic and gave us the taste of fish we were looking for to start our trip. The staff was friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was a bit empty but it was a rainy Tuesday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely try if you're staying at isla Bella!

Overall the ambiance is wonderful! The patio seating is great would request beach if given option. Sunset is excellent. Service is just eh... they really tried but missed the mark on a few things. The food was also just eh ... mostly for the price you pay one expects a delicious blend of flavor not just meat and potato. The bread service they tried to be hip with beet and potato breads but just fell flat. I think the flavors just need amped up!

We vacationed to Isle Belle in December for 4 nights and two of the nights we ate dinner at the Mahina because it was amazing! Besides the obvious beautiful views, the staff and food were 10/10. First, the hostess was so sweet! The first time we ate at Mahina, we requested outdoor seating and she sat us at the far right corner table facing the bridge (best table in the entire restaurant in my opinion). The second time we ate there, I asked for the same table as she was about to seat us elsewhere and she accommodated immediately. She also took photos of us by the water and told us about the blankets that they offer if we get cold!! Second, the food was sooo good. From the apps, dinner, and dessert everything was delicious! Third, I don't remember the waitresses names but both nights, we had good service... Some reviews say their service/food wasn't good which is so surprising! But note we visited this restaurant in December and I could count the guests on my fingers (the restaurant/hotel wasn't busy at all). Fourth, the views!!!!! Breathtaking. Can't wait to come back here one day :)

We got seated inside just as the sun was starting to set. Sadly all the guests that had finished eating right before us decided to walk over to the dock outside the restaurant which just so happened to be the exact viewing location for the sunset so we didn't get any really good photos of it bc there were so many people over there videoing it and taking photos. It was still nice scenery while we waited for our food though. I ordered ceviche to start us off as our appetizer and it was really good. My dinner was a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops. The sauce was supposed to be a white cream sauce but it was really runny. Even adding extra Parmesan cheese to it didn't help thicken it. It tasted ok. Not my best pick. I had a choice of soup or salad with it. I chose their she crab soup and I'm glad I did. It was great. Almost reminded me of homemade chicken and dumplings soup just with crab. I really liked it. I should have stopped with that and the ceviche. My husband got a grouper fish sandwich. He thought it was good but the prices were a bit high for what it was. His fish sandwich was $29. Although good, not worth $29. My pasta definitely not worth the $31. May be a bit of a tourist trap but the food was decent.

Herbie's Bar & Chowder House in Marathon has been operating under that name since 1963, with roots…read moregoing back to the 1940s as Maggie's Chowder House and later Fishnet's. It's legitimately one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the Florida Keys, which gives it a lot of built-in credibility before you even sit down. Walking up to it, you feel that history. The exterior, the gravel lot, the signage--it's pure roadside Keys. Inside, it leans into that "local bar meets tourist stop" vibe: long wooden bar, TVs, stickers everywhere, taps lined up. Then you open the menu and it pivots in every direction--New England chowder house, BBQ joint, burger shack, seafood spot. It's not clear what it wants to be, and that lack of focus carries straight through to the food. We started with both chowders. The clam chowder looks right at first glance, but the texture tells you everything--thick, almost gluey, clearly roux-heavy. The flavor leans aggressively fatty, closer to margarine than butter, with very little clam presence. No briny backbone, no pepper, no lift. We ended up dumping in black pepper and hot sauce just to make it remotely acceptable--but even then, that heavy fat note kept pushing through. Nothing about it reads as New England. The conch chowder fares a bit better. You can actually see a decent amount of conch, and there's a peppery edge that helps. But the broth is thin and lacks the chunky, stewed tomato depth you expect from a proper Keys-style conch chowder. After having it done right earlier at Key Largo Fisheries, the difference was obvious. Then there are the Texas Twinkies--and the photo really says it all. On paper, this should work: jalapeños wrapped in bacon, stuffed with brisket, pulled pork, cheeses, and sauce. In execution, it's just too much. Too much cream cheese, too many competing sauces, meats chopped into a soft, indistinct filling. It collapses into a heavy, muddy bite that feels more overwhelming than satisfying. Looking back at the menu, the simpler move--burger, ribs, even wings--probably would have been the right call. Instead, we ordered straight into the identity crisis. And that theory held up. We went back and grabbed a burger later--cooked a proper medium rare, with well-done, crispy fries--and it was easily the best thing we had from them. I wanted to like Herbie's. There's history, personality, and clearly a loyal following. But between the confused concept and uneven execution, the move here is simple: stick to the basics.

The bottom of the shrimp Reuben was soggy that it started falling apart. There was like 4 shrimp inside. This one was probably the most flavorful- but I still wasn't impressed.
