Came back here to celebrate Valentine's Day and the experience was just as special however the food was a bit disappointing. The bread to start was delicious. The little ball ones tasted like onion and chives, yum! The crispy sticks were okay. We ordered the arugula salad and that was my favorite dish of the evening. Refreshing and light I enjoyed it. We got another pallet cleanser (we knew this time around what to do)! I ordered the chicken and my bf ordered the steak. His came with sides but mine didn't since it came with two little florets of broccoli and a sort of mashed potato underneath. I found my chicken to be very bland, thankfully we had some sauces on the side I could use with it. I will say the chicken was cooked perfectly, great texture, just the flavor was lacking. My bf's sides were good but the steak itself was very underwhelming. Just not what you would expect for the price or like the one we had our first time we dined here. What a beautiful and romantic little getaway hidden off of the Keys. Only accessible by boat, this hidden gem is a short 15 minute cruise away. Our captain was friendly and the waters were calm. You arrive to the dock and greeted by another friendly employee who will help you with your luggage, answer any questions and show you to your table if you're ready to eat. This is an adult only hotel / restaurant and it makes for a really quiet and enjoyable time. There is a pianist playing which was lovely as the sun was setting. Tim and Jose were extremely lovely to talk with and are definitely an asset to the team. Our meals here were delicious, fresh, and we could not have imagined anything more perfect for dinner. We ordered the tuna tartare, and octopus appetizers along the lobster and fish dinner. The key lime pie and a bottle of wine were added touches to our fantastic dinner. The reason for the 4 stars is the variety on the menu as it is set. A few more options would have been nice, but we don't regret our visit here. I'm still here now. Not worth the hype. The booking person (Emily) told me that we had a choice of the chef's tasking menu or a la carte. We got here and they said chef's tasting menu only. It seems like resort guests do get the choice. Service is not great. Several tables had to ask for the server to order. Every table who got a wine bottle is pouring their own wine. Food is just ok. Nothing great. We ordered one of each dessert, and when they came, I asked the food server what they were. She could not tell us, and did not send anyone else to tell us. No dish was presented at all, all night. I will also add that our server was Haley, and there was no service. Funny, the captain and mate on the ferry boat were the best. Austin was our captain, and actually was conversational, and asked us how our evening was. Our server never asked how everything was. They have location location location. And that's it. I thought we would love it here, but quite disappointed. Basically, skip it. I keep coming back to edit this review as we sit here. Nothing matters here. People are on cell phones in the restaurant. This was a top-notch experience beginning to end. We only went for Sunday brunch, did not stay in the hotel. From waiting for the ferry, to seeing the resort, the gift shop, the service at the meal, the meal itself, and the view from the restaurant it was exquisite. The plates are pretty small so you'll probably want to get 2 things for yourself or 3 to share at least. A don't-miss experience if you visit the Keys. Only advice is be patient with making a reservation. Listen food was amazing. Ambience was amazing. But I'm sorry. We went and paid for a moonlight dinner with a Grammy winning pianist. For those that don't know a private boat takes you to and from the island. On the way there I said when is the last boat back and the captain stated 9:30pm I was slightly disappointed but ok with that. I timed my dinner accordingly and paid my bill at 8:50 so I could enjoy an espresso martini at the bar and sit by the pianist and watch. Me and my wife walk to the bar and I don't even get to order my drink and the captain comes and says we're leaving in 5 min. I say oh man I was going to order a drink... and then we left. How do you charge $500 for dinner and basic drinks and don't let people enjoy the performance and place they came to see. The last ferry should be when the show is over and the bar is closed. Dined here for the first time about seven years ago and again this past weekend. It was very good, but our first time was a tad better. This second time, we were not staying on the premises. We took the shuttle from the welcome center off MM 28. The water was a bit rough, but the captain was a pro in steering us smoothly. Upon arrival, we were escorted to our table right away. Since the weather had been moody all morning, tables were set up on the terrace instead of on the sand. The view is still spectacular and I was instantly whisked away from the real world. Our waitress and supportive wait staff were wonderful the entire brunch. The inside dining room is set up with several cold item stations and a bottomless mimosa/bloody Mary bar. The hot items are ordered a la carte. You can order as much of the hot menu items as you want and we were often encouraged to do so. There is only so much we could eat, though. Each menu item is a regular sized portion which makes it easy to keep over ordering. I especially loved the churrasco and the dessert platter. When comparing this brunch to other equally priced brunches I've done (in particular at The Biltmore, Ciopinno at the Ritz, and at The Breakers) this one falls a little behind and is heavily relying on their heavenly location. And boy is it heavenly! Based on the price, the seafood is somewhat limited: no sushi, no stone crabs, for example. Where was the lobster? Other things were missing like caviar or simpler things like an omelette station! While I would go out of my way to go to the other brunches, I would only return to this one if on the way to or from Key West (or anywhere in the nearby keys) or obviously if I was staying at Little Palm again. It's very good, just not as outstanding as I think it could be. As stated, the location here is truly special, though. For South Florida locals, it's a great way to feel like you are at a getaway without actually hopping on a plane. Something I've been meaning to do here at The Dining Room is try one of their wine dinners. I've seen them advertised, but never with enough time to plan for it ahead of time. If I could give 10 stars I would!! There are no words to describe our experience. We went to Little Palm Island for dinner to celebrate a big birthday for Mr. B. I made special arrangements for a special table for the 4 of us. Most tables are located along the beach, with space in between them for a bit of privacy. We sat and had a drink in the comfy chairs and sofa placed around the fire pit and watched with the resort guests an incredible Key West sunset. Our amazing server Claire came and got us to walk us to our private table on the beach, it was exactly what I wanted for the evening, set by itself on the beach, they had sprinkled rose petals on the walkway leading to the table and on the table. Claire excitedly told us she had special guests for us at the table, as we round the corner there stand 2 adorable Key Deer, nibbling on the rose petals. She informed us that we could feed them the rose petals, but nothing else. We learned that the Key Deer swim over from one of the other uninhabited islands. The two stayed with us throughout our dining experience. The Tiki torches were lit, and the ambiance amazing. We start with 2 appetizers and they were exquisite, next we had soup or salad, again perfection. Our main entree's were beautiful, so beautiful you didn't want to touch them, just look and admire the beauty. I had the Lobster Sofrito. The lobster was tender, cooked so well and the flavors were heavenly. After several bottles of wine, recommended by our server and a dining experience like no other we move on to dessert, yes Key Lime Pie again. I am on a mission to find the best Key Lime Pie in Florida, well I found it. The Key Lime Pie was so creamy, the perfect balance of sweet and tart, I can't stop eating it. Claire was so great to talk to, we had so much fun with her, she made our celebration wonderful. The Dining Room at Little Palm is truly an amazing place for a special celebration, they didn't miss a detail, our menus had a special birthday message printed on them for Mr. B. Dining on the beach at a private table, Key Deer eating out of our hands, incredible food, our best friends and great wine. It truly is an experience we will never forget. Now some details. To reach the Welcome Center, it is about a 40 minute drive from Key West, the boat ride takes roughly 15 minutes, you will not regret the experience. Just know, bring your credit card, it was quite expensive, but so worth it. We are already talking about going back next year and staying at the resort for a few days. No kids under 16 are allowed at the resort or on the island. The dress for dinner is business casual. The place is beautiful but if you are a vegetarian there isn't much for you to eat. The chef tried to accomdate my diet and I appreciate his effort but I was left hungry after the dinner. As we were about to leave the manager kicked us out because he claimed that the guests didn't like the fact that my boyfriend used some curse words as he spoke. This was my birthday dinner and the night was completely ruined by the manager. I have no idea why he rudely came and kicked us out instead of giving us a warning. If we were about to leave already he shouldn't have kicked us out and ruin my birthday without apologizing. We spent over 600 dollars to have our night ruined. My husband and I, along with my in-laws, visited for lunch. The ferry ride to the island takes about 15 minutes. Once you get on the island, there are very few places you can go if you aren't a guest. It's limited to the restaurant, the dock and the gift store. We were seated on the patio for lunch. The view is fantastic! Within minutes of sitting down, 2 key deer ambled up to the side of the deck and were nibbling on sea grape and lounging in the shade. Very cool! Cocktails will cost you a pretty penny, but you can tell they are handcrafted with care. The Marker 5 was $23 (has Patron Silver as the main ingredient). Our table also had the strawberry basil martini ($16) and the Spencer's Cup. There were a lot of options to choose from food wise. We had the Cuban sandwich, the shrimp salad sandwich, the chicken club and the catch of the day sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Sandwiches do come with a side! Keep in mind that you are paying for the experience of the ferry ride, the nice views and the "luxury" feel of the whole afternoon. As good as it gets! Paradise is a word I have to use for this place! I think Little Palm Island is the best place to pamper yourself in entire Florida Keys. We were there for lunch only. you have to take a boat(about 15min ride) to get to the restaurant on Little Palm Island. The dining room has spectacular views and the whole resort with villa type guest rooms, pools and bars looked very indulging. My husband and I had brunch on Sunday and while the resort is beautiful and peaceful and the staff is EXCELLENT, the food is just ok, there was nothing outstanding or worth bragging about. The fruits that were set out were warm and not ripe, the buffet had some interesting choices but nothing that really stood out. The made to order menu came out played beautifully, unfortunately, it just didn't taste as nice as it looked. The meal was a total disappointment, however, it's probably some of the best service we have received here in the Keys (we are locals). read more

We dined here in July of this year7/23/17! We are so glad we came for brunch before the hurricane did a number on the property. They said they will re-open in a year. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the first time I visited I thought the brunch was better. It's $100 for the buffet brunch. For $100 dollars I expect crab legs. They did not have crab legs this time and a few people in our group were sad about that. The menu items were awesome. Particularly the pork belly with the guava BBQ sauce and foam. We have been thinking about dining at Little Palm Island for some time. Recently we were in Key West for a week and took the opportunity to make lunch reservations at Little Palm Island. Unfortuantely, it did not turn out to be the highlight of our trip. In fact, I cannot recommend it at all. By the way, we were the only guests who were not asked for the marketing card... I was left an impression of a business that has recieved so many top ratings for so long that they have begun to believe their own press and are not longer extremely introspective about their customer experience such that quality and the customer experience slips slowly away without being noticed and corrected. I started to have doubts when I made the reservation. You select a time to dine and they assign you to a time to catch the launch to the island. When I inquired if I could take an earlier launch so that we could see the resort and relax before lunch, I was brusquely told no without any explanation. When I pushed a bit, the response was the same and almost to the point of being rude with no explanation. Anyway, we did go to lunch. You get received at a small attractive building on Little Torch Key to wait for the launch. Before you can get on the boat, you must fill out a (marketing) information card that is to be turned in on the island. The launch is clean, attractive and comfortable for the 20 minute ride to the island. When we got to the island, we where guided to the dining room and told not to vary from the route of our guide. All along the route are signs warning mere lunch customers not to tread off the beaten path. When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess seats everyone in an order she divines. We were told she had to go in the order on the list. We were last (PS: we saw the list and we were second on it - more about this later) Service is very slow. They seem to have their one server fully address each customer in order such that it took 25 minutes for us (the last) to even get a glass of wine. The rest of lunch proceeded at the same pace with us on the end of the line for everything. The wines by the glass are very good and our meal was very good but it begs the question of what is fine dining. We had a hambuger and a cuban sandwich with fries, we shared very good crab fritters for an appetizer and shared a key lime pie for dessert (very bland despite being their signature dish). While I enjoyed the food mostly, it was not worth the fine dining price of $150+. Note that the gratuity is automatically added. Now I am generally a 25% tipper for great service but felt that their 15% add on was not justified. Now for the really disappointing part. I am of northern european ancestry and wife is from India. When we were seated (with us being conspicuously last) there were enough tables around the railing for everyone to get a table with a view of the water and enjoy the breeze. We, however, were the only people asked to take an interior table with less view and breeze. We refused and were given a table along the railing. You do the math. After lunch, we were the last to leave the dining area for the reasons given above as it took another 25 minutes for the hostess to deign to bring the check even though we were the only people left twiddling our thumbs, and we were forgotten. There are no signs of how to get to the boat. We mistakenly got off the path for lunch guests and were accosted and put back on it twice but without directions all the way to the launch. I have a disability that makes walking somewhat difficult and would have appreciated competent directions. Rather than being the highlight of our trip, this meal was the low-light and I cannot recommend it to anyone! read more

I love that they call this the dining room at little palm island. You're thinking cafeteria but thats because you havn't been there. Think more "paradise on the beach". Read this, stay excited and bring your credit card. I've been there a few times, usually for dinner. It's actually part of the resort on the island but I've never had the pleasure of staying there over night. If you ever stay in Key West, its about a 30-40 minute drive. Well worth it! I cannot overstate how impeccable the service is there. The food has always been great and the experience was incredible from beginning to end. I made reservations to coincide with a sunset, drove from Key West to Little Torch Key (appox. 30 min) and was picked up at their private dock by the ferry service they provide. Its a beautiful antique looking wooden hull powerboat with indoor and outdoor seating equipped with an attentive crew. The Ferry service smoothly takes you for a 15 minute ride to Little Palm Island. The only other way to get there is by seaplane or private Yachts. Once on the island you are greeted by the hostess and escorted to you table. I chose a table in the sun inches from the beach. It was warm being in the sunlight even though it was near sunset so I was glad I didn't have a suit on. If that would bother you, there are options out of the sun and I believe some indoor seating. Chose a great wine from their extensive list and slowly enjoyed all courses. Definitely a no rush atmosphere. The Sunset was beautiful. I have a thing for weather so watching the thunderstorms pass in the distance over the water and looking at the stars above was a moment to remember. Also worth mentioning is what seems to be a friend of the restaurant. He's a small Key Deer that comfortably walks around and is playfully chased away by the staff. He has no problem coming up near the tables but mostly stays on the beach. At the end of the night while waiting for the ferry to pick us up we headed out to the end of the dock and watched the activity of fish under the lights. We caught the last ride back to Little Torch Key and enjoyed the drive back to Key West. I don't know if I captured the incredible experience in this review but I tried. If it sounds like an epic evening, thats because it was. Dinners here are expensive but another option would be to go for lunch which is more moderately priced. I clicked Dressy for attire but its actually casual/dressy. People who were staying at the resort tended to dress down a little and people who were just there for dinner dressed up a little. This restaurant offers a romantic dining experience, not just a meal. It's a good 30 minutes outside of Key West. Once you get to the resort launch, there's a huge lot but no direction about what to do or where to go. You need to head straight to the office building, where you'll check in and get a boarding pass. You'll be ushered onto the small boat with a handful of other couples for the 10 minute ride over to the island resort. Upon arrival at the island, the scene is everything you'd expect of a tropical paradise. You'll follow the host to the dining room and be seated in whatever casual order you were in as you got off the boat. We asked to sit on the beach. While there are several tables, they're spaced far enough apart to ensure privacy. The sunset and beach views are gorgeous, but we went at sunset without bug spray, and were eaten alive for a good thirty minutes until darkness set in. Our service was one of the highlights of our experience. Michael was very professional, charming, and knowledgeable about the wine list, and was able to read our personalities and starting joking around and chatting with us more as the evening went on. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I didn't feel like we were being watched or had to stay within particular bounds. In fact, we were encouraged to stroll along the dock and sit by the fireplace as we waited for the return boat launch. As for the food: it was good, but the prices were expensive for the taste and portions compared to other fine restaurants we've dined at. I do like that the restaurant changes the menu daily depending on local offerings. While my lobster risotto entree was good, the pork belly appetizer is one of the best dishes I've had ever, and I've eaten pork belly many times at many different fine dining establishments. My husband's scallop entree was the better of the two entrees, and the cocktails were creative and nicely balanced. The food is good and I'd eat there again, but it's pricey, even for fine dining. Went for New Years Eve 5 course meal. You had a few choices for each course and each was just the right portion and so delicious. The ambiance was perfect and yes you will probably run into a few Key Deer. The service was excellent as well. When you arrive at boat transfer we were greeted and waited for the lovely boat ride over. It would have been nice to have received a drink on arrival at not transfer as we waited for the boat. Once we arrived we were greeted at the dock and immediately escorted to our table. It is very expensive, but worth it for special occasions. Plan to spend over 150 per person atleast and double that on special days like New Years. They had a jazz type band playing through dinner which set a nice mood. Later in evening, they had a DJ. Food was beyond amazing. My husband and I just returned as guests there for three nights and my favorite part of the trip was seeing what was on the menu for dinner every night. We are all about the food. The portions were nice, most nights I wished I had a reserve stomach because I hated not being able to finish. VERY expensive because of the food costs being on an island, but the atmosphere and view of dining on the beach is priceless, paradise. Love the restaurant staff, very friendly. They were cool, not stuffy or pretentious at all (no trying to shove a $300 bottle of wine down your throat here which I love) Guess I am used to the expensive restaurants in NY, that's how they are up here, but not in the Keys I guess, it was so nice : ) As for the brunch we did not try, but I can tell you that I had the best french toast for breakfast EVER!!!! I went out to a little Palm island for Sunday brunch. The food was amazing, the selection was vast, their wine list was impeccable, the atmosphere was beautiful. However, the server was absolutely obnoxious. I asked they hostess for another server and was told they were very busy but would try to get me another. We never got anyone different and the same obnoxious woman waited on us. Between the food, drinks and gratuity my bill was over $1,100 for four people. I was expecting that price as it was posted online when I made my reservation. I have no problem spending that amount of money for brunch for my family. Outstanding choice! If there was a five-$-sign choice, this would get it. Dinner for two with one drink and two coffees was $250. (And worth every penny). Starting with a welcome drink at the land side waiting room, which was very comfortable inside and out, and then a ten minute speedboat ride to the private island, if was an evening to remember. About the island, it had 60 Luxury (!) suites for overnight guests who usually stay several days or a week. The dining room is open to the public unless the entire island is reserved (think of the people who need to escape the paparazzi for a small wedding or something similar). Anyway, for our dinner we had stone crab and crab-corn chowder as our appetizers, then ahi tuna and Caribbean lobster as main courses. We love to cook and we always eat a fancy dinner on every vacation. This impressed us, and we consider ourselves gourmet foodies. I read some other reviews saying it wasn't worth the price. This restaurant is simply spectacular, the service is amazing and the views are priceless. Had dinner 2 nights and the brunch on Sunday. The bunch is approximately $75 per person and worth every penny. The menu is made to order and you can order every item and it is all included. They have a bloody mary and mimosa bar that is hands down the best I have ever seen. I have always been a Ritz CArlton brunch fan, but this is now my favorite brunch. Fantastic setting just off the Island where I was raised (so I may seemed biased). I spent many years as an adolescent at the famous Sunday brunch ($75 pp) and nothing has changed. All you can drink bloody marys and champagne. Delicious selection of food. For dinner I was placed beachfront facing west which was beautiful as the sun was setting. Tiki torches were the only thing besides the candles on our table that game light once the sun set. Truly one of the most romantic spots for dinner I've ever been. We started out with potato fingers with a chipotle sauce, as an entree I vouched for the braised shorterib with potato purée. All delicious, not Michelin star good but very flavorful. The menu isn't large but you can expect to pay some decent $$. One thing I noticed was that the same food that was spread out during the Sunday brunch was on the menu that evening. This place is absolutely amazing. The island itself is miles offshore and accessible only by boat - The Truman. All of the staff is beyond friendly, and the island is beautiful. The wildlife, the lighting, it's all an unforgettable experience. The food is delicious. We did the tasting menu so that we could try a variety of things, and we cleaned our plates with each course. It's one of those places that presents foods that you may otherwise shun in a way that makes them delectable and irresistable. Very accommodating for vegans. We had a Waldorf salad, roasted beet salad, rice pilaf, and vegan taster entree. Plus they threw in coconut sorbet. It was a slow night, so the chef came out and talked to us and was great. Very pricey, so be aware. A deer came right up next to where we were eating! And taking the ferry to and from the island is cute. Definitely worth checking out if you're not on a strict budget. read more

Food amazingly mediocre at best stone crab claws mealy with terrible remoulade that tasted as it came premade. Shrimp cocktail fishy tasting . Eggs Benedict with English muffins that were not toasted and eggs cold with cold sauce runny . Suites were nice and setting is idyllic, they need a great chef/manager to make it complete. Worst food I've had at a top resort .also no one appears to be in charge waiters are very polite and pleasant and very very disorganized. Looks like a comedy routine at meals you get asked if you want water x3 then no one brings it until you again ask for it. Told waiter that food was cold , response was were kinda busy !!!Bartender limited on knowledge / ability to make perfect manhattans / cosmos until coached. Sure it was better in bygone days.beds are too soft had back pain every day upon awakening. Service poor to nonexistent at pool waited 30 min with no one present had to go to restaurant. Wifi is slower than 4G. St Bart's here I come prices are same experience is always perfect there This facility was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. We went there for the Sunday Brunch - we've traveled the world and haven't found any better. This is the best - location, service, food, ambiance, everything. It's a magical place that treats guests like royalty. The food selection is fabulous with fresh fruits, pastries, salads, seafood, and multiple hot entrees that are cooked to order. There's a very nice desert tray with a selection of decadent treats. This is highly recommended! read more
